My dear, it's like that sometimes. Been through hell and back in this business but i thank God today.

You just have to persevere. This week now my ratings on Fiverr dropped to 92% from 100% because of too many cancelled orders. I don't have more than two hands and one brain. This people would see bulk of orders in queue and they'll still go ahead to place their order and start insulting you. Eventually, they cancel and your ratings drop. Sometimes, i wonder if some of them are not just possessed by demons because of the way they behave.

But what can we say? It's our source of livelihood. We just gotta persevere.

Thanks for the encouragement. I think its best to suspend gigs temporarily when you have too much orders already, if that is possible. Another option is for you to start managing a team of new writers for fiverr and/or freelancer. Worst case, you will just have to edit some of their articles and do a brief training. You will be able to do lot more and probably get above Level 2. Even this indians wey no hear english dey do am.

I know sometimes we take the risk of overlooking certain things just because we feel we can trust someone, or because they have not defaulted in the past. But I believe it is good we have a standard and stick to it.

One thing I will advise us all, especially in line with what ladywriter said about insisting you get reviews from completed projects is that, once the terms of a project changes, request for that particular project to be ended, and another one opened for the fresh project. This way, you stand a better chance of getting the reviews you deserve. Some employers are funny. They will be clear initially, but as time goes on, they may start putting in other requirements that may affect the quality of your work and they will use it to judge the whole project.

some employers can be devilish. Even as a new commer, I know that much from comments here and my litle experience on freelancer. We learn from it noni. My indian employer finally paid my 10 dollars. I had a lot of reasons to get angry and insult him. 9 out of ten times, I wouldnt take the rubish but I just had to. They know the power they have and some will blackmail you with it. The guy was telling me "If you argue with me, i wont release you mile stone and will not mark the project completed and it will show on your profile.....". He later gave me a good review, as if he wasnt a pain in the ass. He almost demanded that i gave him a review too. Even though I dislike him, i still gave him an excellent review in exchange for one myself. I advise you to be more tolerant. In a forum like Nairaland, if you insult me, i go talk my own but on freelancer when money is involved and u have the advantage, i will tell you "sorry sir!" After i get my money and the project is closed, if am still angry then i can ...........

All in all, i believe your positive ratings and your response will help you convince potential customers.

One indian freelancer no wan pay me o. After writing 15 articles for him. I think he is using me to do a job he got from some other freelancer. Very rude guy. One complain after another. I will sha keep fixing whatever he complains until i get my 10 dollars or i vex for am. Seriously, i dey learn a lot of longsuffering from this thing o. I must put am for CV. No worry naw. When employers send regret mails self, the usually say they will keep your qualifications in file in case of other suitable vacancies. Besides cadinal stones is an investment firm. And agriculture is one of the fields they invest peoples money in. Some they acquire and some they build from scratch. So no problems. Just take the usual precautions. I wish u best of luck. I still havent got a job on this site o. I think my problem is not stating online long enough. Who ever said we need power supply( constant) wasnt joking. I almost got some big jobs sha but i didnt have enough battery on my lappie to convince the poster during the chat. Some of them were just me being ambitious by bidding in the first place.
Problem is i just dont have money for gen. Nepa is killing me. The one job i can say i got didnt set milestone, its annoying, when i submitted, the idiot "coolwriter" just ignorred me. I should have seen that she didnt even have a payment method verified.

Imagine!!! I have loads of messages like this come in from time to time. As i delete, they replace them. Mtn can be annoying.
Is it by force? Maybe something in their terms and conditions gives them the right to blow up our phones with rubish messages.

I am a private person, i like my peace and quiet.
My phone rings an average of 2 times daily, both message and calls. I love it like that.
Unfortunately, mtn bomboards me with foolish messages to register for this or that. Its really annoying, The sound my phone makes, the hope i always have to see a reasonable message ive been expecting only to see some. If u want to get a job, it should be relatively easy with your experience. You should be able to send applications from where u re. I think its best you get a job in the industry here before u invest.
You can employ me to do some ground work if needed.

Hi everyone, i just thought i should share this. Well, someone already mentioned it up there but i'll emphasize.

If u are finding it difficult getting jobs on Freelancer or you don't really dig the bidding system, go and register on www.fiverr.com.

I guess most people already know what fiverr is but for those who don't, its a micro-job website that allows you earn $5( actually, you get $4 because fiverr takes a 20% cut and at the end of the day, you are only left with $4.

Don't let the amount fool you, you can actually earn way more than $5 for one service through a feature known as 'gig extras'. I have earned $10 for a 500 word article that took me less than 30 mins to write several times.

Its also up to you what you want to sell for $5. If you feel like you can write 3,000 words for $5, by all means, take the stand. And if you feel what you are worth is $5 for a 100 words, no problem; you'll still find customers who are looking for your calibre of services.

Also, you are allowed to sell up to 20 different services; so you see, it's not just writing alone you would be selling. If theres any other thing you are good at, just look around fiverr and see if its something thats in demand.

People make money from 'completely silly' things on fiverr. "i'll wink at you for $5 dollars", i'll make a wish come true for $5" and people are actually buying these gigs.

So, go on register on Fiverr and start promoting your gig. Please remember to optimize your gig too.

If you have any questions, ask here and i'll reply as time permits. If you want one on one training, send me a mail on cremeandchic @gmail.com but its not free (make una no vex abeg, time is money and from experience, people don't take free things serious). But i would advise you to ask your questions here so that everyone can benefit and others who have experience on Fiverr can chip in a few points too.
