All these yoruba men and their problems with women...everyday problem and post. Learn how to set boundaries like Igbo men. No Igbo woman or any woman can look the phone of her Igbo husband if dey born 'am well. Fear no go allow her; she will be sent packing immediately and Umunna meeting called. Igbo men no dey tolerate nonsense which is why Igbo family structure is intact. If you allow women run your home or family, what you see in Yorubaland and Dahomey will be the result....family problems, infidelity, high divorce rate, polyandry(women with multiple men or husbands) and bastard children everywhere from multiple fathers with same woman...just chaos! No race or society can thrive with such disorder. I may not agree with Adeyinka Grandson but he delved on this issue big time and how its destroying Yorubas.

So u think that men who don't attend antenatal with their wives are doing the right thing?
Men are meant to go to antenatal with their pregnant wives!

A man that fixed my dish one time said that he alone took care of his wife and 3 kids that crucial first few months. That post pregnancy birth etc he did it.
A full blooded Nigerian man!
It is your responsibility.
Not mother inlaw or house maids.
Guess where he learnt what to do, at antenatal class.
Coming online to say all these is a man's responsibility doesn't make it so. It's wishful thinking and a good-to-have.

Did your father do that for your mum? Does that mean men who don'ts go to antenatal are irresponsible?

People should stop saying rubbish online abeg

shocked

There is a price to pay for adultery which may not be only divorce but also a disgrace. There is so little a man can take from a woman who lies with his best friend.

A woman in marriage rarely cheats until after many tries to get her husband's attention to the issues that bothers her. She is not wired to fall off the cliff unless if you help push her to the edge.

A real man regularly or at intervals, engages his wife in honest and heartfelt conversations. In so doing, he unlocks her deepest wishes and sadness. Pivot towards her happiness, for a lighthearted woman is a husband's greatest gift.

Richdad
Ko no da fun real man! I hate it when people start talking about what a real man should or should not do. Sanctimonious bunch!

Everyone should do whatever is meaningful to them in this life and don't let people guilt you into doing what they want because you want them to call you a "real man" .

You are not yoruba. We are not like the other tribe that defend criminals because he is there "brother".

Let him be trialed and if innocent, he'll be discharged and acquited. He is not poor so he can afford good lawyers so the only way the court can find him guilty ultimately is if he is indeed guilty.

If he is granted bail and the EFCC does not obey that order too, then you can start to compare him to Sowore.

Dear Sir/Ma,
Please I will like to be enlightened on the below senerio:

I am on tier 2 visa for 3 year and my dependant is also on tier 2 dependant visa for 3 years.

we are already on 6months now and I want to change my employer.

Please I will like to ask if:
1. Should I use the extension visa link to apply for my new visa?
2. Should I also apply for a new visa for my dependant or I should allow her current visa to end?
3. Will I pay for IHS since my the IHS I paid for the 3 years visa has not expired?

I will be very happy if you could help me out.

Thank you.
I believe your new prospective employer has to sponsor your for a new tear 2 two visa. You may then have to get a new dependent visa for your wife. All this should be done before leaving your current job.

Crime100 Needless Ways You Can Die In Nigeria by OkunrinMeta(op):
In order to manage risks, we must be aware of the risks. Here is a list of 100 ways that people get killed unnecessarily in Nigeria:

1. ROBBERY: This happens in every country. But it is worse here because of our inadequate security apparatus that seem to only protect the rich and the politicians. You can never trust the Nigerian Police Force to show up on time to stop a robbery because maintaining roadblocks for the sake of collecting "rogger" is more important to them.

2. Malaria: Malaria is probably one of the biggest causes of death in this country. The painful part is that it can be prevented but our leaders are still busy embezzling funds that should have been expended on improving our Healthcare facilities and cleaning up the environment. In response, we fold our arms doing nothing expecting that the leaders to eventually get tired of stealing, grow a conscience and do the right thing. I would suggest that in addition to doing nothing, try to buy mosquito net for yourself and your family because malaria can kill you.

3. Police Report: You'll be surprised at the number of people who have died from gunshot wounds or stab wounds because the hospitals were waiting for police report. Police reports are so important in Nigeria. More important than saving the lives of the people that the Police failed to protect.

4 Electricity: There are a number of ways electricity can kill you in Nigeria. First, you could be hit by a falling electric pole or cable. It's rare but possible especially when it rains. If you are in an operating room and the power goes off, bye bye. The transformer on your street could blow up. The absence of streets light could cause a road accident. Power surge could cause a fire or electric shock. So be careful.

5. Tankers and Containers: I refer to heavy utility vehicles commonly called tankers. These vehicles are mostly locally modified away from factory specifications. That's the normal in Nigeria and the FRSC seems to have approved this practice as no one is ever punished for altering the factory specs of these vehicles. The round enclosures where fuel is put are manufactured locally and mounted on the back of trailers. Often this is poorly done amidst other alterations to the factory specifications. Also, shippers containers are simply put on the back of flatbed trailers with nothing to hold them in place. The FRSC and LASTMA seem to be very ok with this practice even though these vehicles roll over every day, killing scores of people every period. So when you see these vehicles, know that they are government approved and they can kill you. The government does not yet believe that these accidents and tanker explosions are good enough reasons to seek alternative means of transporting fuel. Until they do, run away from all appearances of tanker.

6. Picture Lovers: Ever see those people who take pictures of everything? I bet you may be one of them or you have a few as friends. Well, they can kill you. Because when there is an accident or robbery, these people would rather video you by the road side as you struggle for your life instead of taking steps to help. Especially if you suffer gunshot or stab wounds, even injuries from a crash. It's actually understandable that they would do this, they don't want to get into trouble with the police. There are thousands in prisons for crimes they did not commit. Thousands are awaiting trial. Consequently, witnesses may simple video you and put you on social media hoping a family member would see you before you die.

7. Election Violence: This is a constant and a regular supplier of victims to the gods of election every 4 years. People have died at every election since I was born almost 30 years ago. Next time you go out to exercise your right to vote, be aware that election violence can kill you.

8. Crazy Drivers: Tanker drivers, danfo drivers, drunk drivers, Okada riders, or just the impatient Lagos driver. All these people kill hundreds of people every period. It is as if they are on a mission to keep our population in check. Be on the look out. They can kill you.

9. Cult Violence: Aye gang, Eiye Gang, Baddo, Omije, Bukanneer, Alora, etc. All these are part of the devils special taskforce for harvesting lives untimely. The Government knows this and they do try to arrest them. But if you are a Nigerian student, you happen to be in the most vulnerable risk bucket for cult violence. Avoid cultists.

10. Building Collapse: Our government has always been very busy. So busy that they didn't have time for proper urban planning and monitoring. Therefore development comes first and planning comes after. As a result, we have a lot of unapproved and poorly built structures across the country. Especially in the Lagos Island area. So if you live in or around one of those structures, be aware that you could be killed when it collapses. The government prefers to simply mark these buildings for demolition and then wait for them to collapse, killing people.

11. Accidental Discharge or Stray Bullets:

12. Police set up and imprisonment:

13. Fake drugs

14.

To be continued

First of all, we as a people are very bad and wicked.
How many people are responsible for stealing the bolts. Say about 20 people. Divide 20 by 180 million! That's 0%. In fact, count everyone that are in prison for just cause and divide that number by 180m to get the percentage.

Nigerians as a people are NOT bad or wicked. Non thinkers like you just love to highlight the bad eggs.

lavylilly:
I have been reading with so much disdain, the recent tantrums thrown on divorced ladies on this platform recently. I may not have followed every comment and reply, but majority I read from guy seems to shame the ladies. This is very wrong.

There is nothing dehumanizing or stigmatizing about a divorced lady coming out to say she was divorced. There is nothing glorifying managing an unmanageable husband or wife in a matrimonial home. I have rarely read people shame a divorced man, or are their stigma different?

The truth is simple, its better to live alive or stay and die, and its very very simple, simpler than staying.

As a legal practitioner, I have had the opportunity to handle/witness several divorce cases, and I'm sure to say its better to leave alive.

65% of divorce cases in Nigerian courts today are instituted by ladies who couldn't tolerate a toxic marriage any longer. This simply means, there is something certainly wrong with men of today, or both.

Men have become more randy, intolerant and abusive than before.

Let's watch how we shame somebody, especially in a situation we haven't been involved in before.

Remember the goal is to be alive and happy, married or single.

Thanks, and have a lovely week.

Again, nollywood story line. All the people I have seen from personal experience who sent money home were not duped. I am not saying it does not happen but if you check the percentage, over the millions of people that were not duped, you will see that it's not as rampant as nollywood has made non-thinkers believe.

By the way, if not for nairaland, I wouldn't have known most of our celebrities.
Let's accept the fact that we are inherently wicked and self centred.
Forget religion. It even make it worst cos their is religious intolerance everywhere.
I am not wicked and I would never take my brothers properties from his family members! And I am not special either, there are millions of Nigerians better than me.

Let's stop talking about ourselves as if we are animals. We are not! Foreigners highlight the bad eggs because we do that to ourselves as well. There are millions of Nigerians doing the right thing everyday. Watch out for that and highlight it instead.

You ask why Nigeria is getting worse? It's not because we are all bad! It's because the tens of millions of good people stay silent, and we don't protest because we stay divided due to serious mutual distrust of each other along religious and ethnic lines! The same distrust that you are exhibiting right now!

I have been to Singapore, most people don't know Singapore visa is one of the hardest to get for Nigerians they don't give a damn of who you are, and they can deport you back to Nigeria if you can't convince the ICA officers at the point of entry your purpose of visit with giant BTA, confirmed hotel reservation and confirmed return flight ticket. trust me they will check all that before they clear you in. But in his case, they refused him on their discretion because ETOBO has all of that in multitudes.

It is sad Singapore use to be visa free for Nigerians but our people ruined the grace in early 2000. It will surprise you to know that Nigeria and Mali are the only countries in West Africa that require an entry visa to Singapore, other countries in WA are Visa free to Singapore even Togo and Republic of Benin.
So if I go get Benin passport na, with fake name, I go fit entre Singapore?
