The most interesting thing to note is that, this tax has been in place decades ago in all local governments in Nigeria. They are not just implemented. Try to visit your local governments, they will present it 😂 |
jesusjnr2020:This is well articulated to be a blessing. Thanks. However, the teachings exposes the truths in Christ teachings |
achorladey:Thanks for the lights in your all responses @achorladey I believe he needs a guide for tutelage on God's word... He quote Matthew 11:12, leaving out the verse 11, that gives us more honour |
MaxInDHouse:Matthew 7:15-27 KJV Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. [16] Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? [17] Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. [18] A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. [19] Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. [20] Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. [21] Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. [22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? [23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. [24] Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: [25] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. [26] And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: [27] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. The teachings of Christ were never incomplete, He stated the standard, which was by the fruits they bear forth. People only measure by the extent of gift... That Bible reference of Luke 16:26 was a metaphorical description to attest that there is no adjustment after death. And finally, Hebrews 12:2 states categorically clear that only Jesus should looked upon (that is the encyclopedia of our faith) |
MaxInDHouse:None! However, the clear line is by their fruits. Even when true ministers fall they own up. They will rather face the shame here, than to cover up to miss it. They will ensure that the only person you are totally dependent on is Christ! They will consistently stay away from the punch lines... |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IwMlwB06xY The essence of Christ coming to the world is for us all to have eternal life [John 3:16]. However, God has given man the will power to choose his path This scripture reference [Deuteronomy 30:15, 19] clearly state that we have a choice. A choice to pick either life or death. And thanks to God, you have chosen life in Christ. Jesus himself said it in the gospel according to John 14:6. Now, for you as a spiritual soldier to get through life, you need to understand the terrain. Getting to know if there will be eventualities will get you prepared and equipped with the doggedness to ride rough no matter how bad the terrain of the path is. UNDERSTANDING THE PATH TO DESTRUCTION The scripture referenced [Matthew 7:13-14] describes the terrain of destruction and life. No doubt, the path that leads to destruction is broad and wide as the gate, it was also reveals that it is being transversed by a large number of people. Going by the nature of man, you will agree with me that man cherishes pleasure and ecstasy. Mankind has created this path for themselves in the name of many religions. They have created a path to accommodate whatever their heart desires. Mind you, this broadway is the false way, and it leads to eternal hell fire. This way does not require having a remorseful heart; it accommodates self-righteousness, self-will, and the likes. It is so broad that it accommodates whatever your heart desires in the flesh. But listen, the path might seem very comfortable, stress-free, peaceful, joy, love, success, breakthrough, wealthy, exploited, but it is just for a period of time. This time before the physical eyes might seem forever, but by the time it ends, it will be like the twinkling of an eye [Proverbs 14:12] As broad as this way is, it gives room for all the works of flesh mentioned in Galatians 5:19-21. All that has been said still points to the fact that this way accommodates you to gain the whole world but with no eternal life [Matthew 16:26] GETTING TO KNOW THE TERRAIN OF THE PATH TO LIFE: In the Bible reference [Matthew 7:14]. It says that the gate is strait. The strait here is the original transliterated Greek word ‘Stenos’. It means narrow. In continuation, it reads that ‘and narrow is the way’. Hence, both the description of the gate and the way seem similar but from the original transliterated Greek word for narrow, which is ‘Thlibo’. It means to afflict, throng, suffer tribulation, trouble. It is never to scare you; however, it is to strengthen you the more. The terrain of this path is not just confined to the literal meaning of narrow, in some translations it reads: the road is difficult; the way is hard; the road is constricted; the way is restricted, the way is compressed. All that has been mentioned gives a detailed description of the terrain of the path to life. The concluding part of this verse reads ‘And few there that find it’. The exposition on this path by Jimmy Swaggart really gave more insight into why only a few people will find it. He said that every contrite heart earnestly desires to be among the few, but the requirements are greater than most are willing to accept. This means that it will indeed take a remorseful heart to pass through this path. At some point, you can listen to people who say that they are willing to go through this path, but count the requirements as too extremes to be endured. Actually, this path to life is a path to train you up to the tasks; ‘You are better off when you train on the rough path’. How rough a soldier is trained attest to how experienced and potent, he will be’. For instance, it cannot be denied that Kenyans athletes are no less than world-class because some theories states that most of the runners are from the rift valley, a part of the country that is isolated at a high altitude, and this gives an advantage because it shakes you off the expression of the flesh. The journey through the constricted path is to bring out the expression of God’s love in you. The path is to test you for the fruits of the Spirit as mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23. It is only through this path that you get to the kingdom of God. REQUIREMENTS TO ENTER THE PATH TO LIFE This path to life requires a gate fee, which is salvation through Christ as affirmed in Acts 4:12. Likewise, the key to maintaining the journey on this path is surpassing the holiness and righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees. Therefore, you need the holiness and righteousness of God. This can be attained through the expression of God’s love, and the only medium through which you can be led into this expression is the Holy Ghost [Romans 5:5]. This expression of God’s love through Christ seems unattainable to believers because they think it is self-driven. However, the point is that you cannot self-will to express God’s love and, most importantly, disobedience to the leading of the Holy Ghost will not express God’s love. The different terrains to experience were also outlined by Apostle Paul [Romans 8:35, 38-39] REQUIREMENTS TO MAINTAIN THE PATH TO LIFE You need to be poor in spirit. Matthew 5:3 Totally submitting to the rulership of Christ. Hebrews 12:1-2 Beware of false ministers. Matthew 7:15, Matthew 24:24, II Corinthians 11:3-4 You need people with the mindset of Joshua and Caleb. Numbers 13 and 14 CONCLUSION The terrain of this path is indeed constricted, but when embarked upon with faith, as Jesus is at the centre of it all, it will be the smoothest journey ever. |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKm8oZ1dX9s BIBLE STUDY: HOW CAN YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS EXCEED THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF THE SCRIBES AND PHARISEES *To show how important righteousness it, Christ gives a standard that is allowed in the Kingdom of heaven in Matthew 5:20 ‘For I say to you, unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven’. *What is the nature of the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees? Until this question has been answered you will be unable to exceed their righteousness. Who are the Pharisees? They were members of the governing body of the jews in Palestine called the Sanhedrin, other include, Sadducees, Scribes, etc. Positive characteristics of Pharisees 1. They were devoted to obedience and were respected by the common people for their apparent devotion to God. 2. They also believed the bodily resurrection, eternal life, and angels and demons. 3. They are deeply religious Bad qualities 1. Their bad behaviours portrayed as if their own religious rules were as consequential as the rule of God for living (Matthew 23:25-28, Mark 7:6-9) 2. Their state of deep religiosity was often considered hypocritical and, hence, subjected others to living in conformity with standards they themselves could not attain. 3. Their understanding of salvation revolves around perfect obedience to the law and never capitalizes on forgiveness of sins. 4. The Pharisees were known for their obsession with obedience from their legal interpretation to the extent that God’s grace was completely ignored. 5. They were also more about having to appear to be good rather than obeying God. 6. The Pharisees were basically small landowners and traders not professional scribes. 7. The pharisees loved money. 8. They also loved the power they possessed as they exercised it over the people of Israel as recorded in Matthew 23. The Scribes: Initially, scribes were students of the scriptures. However, by the 2nd century BC, scribes began studying and debating the interpretating of the law. They hold absolute spiritual supremacy over the people, hence they are the people’s mouthpiece as the multitude respectively gives way and listen eagerly to their descriptions as those of a recognized authority. The Pharisees and scribes only succeeded in proselyting people to their religion rather than to God. Owing to the indepth understanding of how Christ explained some of the accusation posed by the Pharisees and scribes, you will agree that they lack a thorough understanding of the laws of God. Outlined below are some of the teachings of Christ that can help you surpass the righteousness of the Pharisees and Scribes. 1. Murder – Matthew 5:21-26 2. Adultery – Matthew 5:27 – 30 3. Oaths – Matthew 5:30 – 37 4. Love your neighbours – Matthew 5:38 – 48 5. Giving – Matthew 6:1 – 4 6. Praying – Matthew 6:5 – 15 7. Fasting – Matthew 6:16 – 18 Conclusion Now when you carefully examine Christ’s teaching on the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will realise that the standard of God in total obedience to his law has been set high. That is why Christ stated that our righteousness must exceed that of the scribes and Pharisees. A clearer picture shows that we cannot trust in our righteousness and that is why he came to die and resurrect for our sake. 2Corinthians 5:21 ‘For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him’. It is only in Christ that we can surpass the righteousness of the Scribes and Pharisees because the righteousness of Christ has been accredited to us and what will be received will surpass the holiest of the Pharisees. The attribution of Christ righteousness to us does not mean we should not live righteously as Christ has taught. We must, but our dependence is not on it. And as we submit ourselves to the lordship of Christ, the Spirit helps to conform us to this image, which by so doing helps us surpass the Pharisee’s righteousness, because it is a gift we have received through Christ. |

It took him four years. →The Bible is God’s breathed hence; you are mandated to pray for God’s revelation before you study the Bible. |
