Sincere 9gerian: Some mischief makers are only chasing shadows. The President does not need to speak like Obama to get the JOB DONE. Some of his predecessors, including the Great Zik, were powerful speakers but how did that change Nigeria? Nigeria does not need motivational speaker as president. What we need is an educated, focused, creative, firm, sincere and hardworking president who will GET THE JOB DONE.

These same elements talking of inspiring speeches were in 2011 trying to force Buhari down our throat. Is Buhari a better speaker than GEJ? Haters are perpetually looking for reasons to HATE.
Bros speech matters alot o o. Esp in Nigeria that has accepted the American culture the time of Great Zik! Things were very much far better off. Dont bring them into this shame we are now. Those people were leaders not looters

Politics / Breaking News: Jang Floors Fashola In Court by oladapoa1(m): 3:53pm On Sep 19, 2013
A Federal Capital Territory high court has thrown
out a suit filed by Lagos State governor, Raji
Fashola, against Plateau Governor, Jonah Jang,
challenging his election as Chairman of the
Nigerian Governors Forum, NGF. Before Justice Affen threw out the case it appears that Fashola himself knew he would lose as he had previously attempted to withdraw his case through his lead counsel, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo (SAN).

This present loss is a major blow to the Amaechi led faction of the NGF which has not been able to pull more than 16 governors to its meeting. The last meeting had 16 governors in attendance and those were mostly opposition governors plus
Amaechi's gang of PDP rebel governors.

Politics / Presidency, New PDP In Fresh Row Over 2015 by oladapoa1(m): 1:07pm On Sep 19, 2013
The Presidency on Wednesday took a swipe at the Abubakar Baraje faction of the Peoples Democratic Party for referring to President Goodluck Jonathan’s purported 2015 ambition as a “third term from the back door.” The Presidency said the New PDP’s position was based on ignorance and therefore advised Baraje to consult his lawyers in order to understand what the 1999 Constitution says on the tenure of a President. It also stated that the Baraje faction’s visit to the National Assembly showed that it was not ready for peace. Baraje, during a visit to the Senate President, Senator David Mark, on Tuesday, said that Jonathan wanted a third term from back door. The factional chairman, who was accompanied on the visit by the seven governors in the New PDP, had demanded “the reversal of the dissolution of the party’s executives in Rivers and Adamawa states; conduct of a fresh convention of the party; removal of Dr. Bamanga Tukur as the national chairman of the PDP; and total objection to third term for President Jonathan from the back door.” But the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Ahmed Gulak, told one of our correspondents in Abuja, that “Baraje spoke out of ignorance.” “He (Baraje) should consult his lawyers so that he can be properly enlightened on what the constitution of Nigeria says on the tenure of the President,” Gulak said. The presidential aide added that he pitied the New PDP leader’s predicament because he had allowed himself to be misled by governors who are pursuing personal agenda. He said, “As a matter of fact, he is not the party chairman and he knows this. There are places and when party chairmen are elected. I pity him because as a stakeholder in the party, he had allowed those pursuing selfish agenda to mislead him. It is unfortunate. My advice for him is to retrace his steps.” Gulak argued that the decision of the seven aggrieved governors and other members of the New PDP to visit the National Assembly despite the ceasefire announced at the end of their Sunday meeting with the President, was a proof that they were not ready to embrace peace. He said although they embarked on the visit with a view to scoring cheap political points, they failed woefully in their bid. According to him, the embarrassment they suffered at the National Assembly was enough for them to have a rethink in the propagation of what he called their selfish agenda. He said, “The aggrieved governors led by their leader, Baraje, embarked on that visit to the National Assembly to score cheap political point but they have failed woefully. “They were told the gospel truth. The President of the Senate (David Mark) told them that he stands by party unity. They embarked on that visit contrary to what was resolved at the Sunday meeting that all parties should stay action. “They decided to jump the gun. That was a proof that they are not sincerely committed to peace. They are desperate in their bid to drag the people to join their selfish agenda. “The National Assembly is however an open place. They are free to visit but the embarrassment they suffered there was enough for them to have a rethink.” But the New PDP insisted on Wednesday that Jonathan’s 2015 ambition was similar to former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s third term project. It said through its National Youth Leader, Timi Frank, that it was sensitising Nigerians to Jonathan’s “third term.” The New PDP said, “What we are saying is that if the President chooses to run in 2015, it will be like the third term which Obasanjo wanted to smuggle into the 1999 Constitution. “What we are doing is to sensitise Nigerians. There is no difference between what Obasanjo wanted to do and what the President wants to do if he runs in 2015. We are all about good governance, we are not going to be discouraged,
we are the authentic PDP. Make no mistake about it. We stand by our terms.” The group said the fact that Gulak scored only 35 votes in the last election in Adamawa State showed that he lacked political clout. The faction said, “He is always making utterances that will get the President into trouble. He is priming the President against Nigerians because Nigerians today are totally against the policies of the President; they are totally against the President’s style of leadership politically in this country. “Our leadership that went to the National Assembly was made up of credible people; the governors are respected in Nigeria. Our National Chairman, Baraje .did far better than Tukur and we expected him (Tukur) to learn from the enviable records of Baraje, who was the chairman of the PDP long before him.” The New PDP had earlier in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary , Chief Chukwuemeka Eze, on Wednesday, said it had not entered into any deal with Jonathan. It said there was no iota of truth in the claim by Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State that the aggrieved governors had agreed that the President could run in 2015. The statement reads in part, “The Baraje-led PDP wishes to advise Nigerians to ignore the tissue of lies and propaganda from the Alhaji Tukur faction of the party on the outcome of our meeting with President Jonathan at the Presidential Villa last September 15, 2013. “We have read various misleading accounts of what transpired at that meeting between our governors -Kwankwaso, Wamakko, Amaechi, Aliyu, Nyako, Ahmed and Lamido – and President Jonathan on how to resolve the self- inflicted crisis in our party. “Akpabio lied by claiming that we have accepted that President Jonathan should contest the 2015 presidential election and that most of our demands were being met. “The fact is that no agreement has been reached on any of the issues we tabled before the President and until we see results, Nigerians should ignore the present efforts by the Tukur camp to deceive them.” It insisted that the Tukur faction was not interested in bringing back peace to the troubled party. The group argued that the inauguration of a caretaker committee for the party in Kano State few hours after the Sunday showed Tukur’s disdain for peace. It alleged that the inauguration was done without recourse to either Kwakwanso or other stakeholders of the PDP in the state.

Sports / Racism Allegation: Keshi Answers FIFA Query by oladapoa1(m): 6:39pm On Sep 18, 2013
Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi, in collaboration with his employers the Nigeria Football Federation, has responded to the query the world football governing body, FIFA issued him. The query is over his alleged racist remark targeted at Malawi technical adviser Tom Sainfiet.

The Nigeria coach was given a September 16 deadline to respond to the query.

The General Secretary of the NFF Musa Amadu who spoke with The PUNCH on Tuesday confirmed that the response to FIFA’s Zurich headquarters was dispatched on Monday deadline.

He said, “Yes, we met the deadline. The response was sent by email and fax. And today (Tuesday) we are sending the hard copy by courier service.”

Amadu said he was positive that FIFA would understand the background under which the statement was made.

“We’ve explained the circumstances under which the statement was made; it was under normal pre-match antics we see of different coaches.

“Of course we all know that Keshi is somebody who has cross-cultural background and incidentally played his professional football career in Belgium where Saintfiet comes from. He was never involved in any racist row all through his career as a player. His intentions were pure and not the way it appears; they were merely based on football relations.”

The Malawi federation reported to FIFA what it called ‘racist’ remarks by Keshi aimed at the Belgian.

“We feel the racist remarks by Mr Keshi are not acceptable,” FAM’s general secretary Suzgo Nyirenda said after their federation sent official complaint to Zurich.

“We thought it was a personal attack on our coach and we had to defend him regardless of skin. We felt we should help our coach and at the same time put a stop to the racist remarks from Mr Keshi. We have sent evidence of what Keshi said and we hope FIFA will come up with some measures to control Mr Keshi.”

In the phone interview aired on UK-based African television show, Keshi was quoted to have said, “I think the coach of Malawi is crazy. If he wants to talk to FIFA, he should go back to Belgium. He is not an African person, he is a white dude, he should go back to Belgium.”

It is not yet clear what type of sanction may be handed Keshi if found culpable. Active players are usually suspended from a number of matches and fined as well while teams are made to play their games in empty stadiums if their fans are guilty of racist acts. In recent times acts of racism have been rampart in the Italian league while the separate cases involving Luis Suarez and former England captain John Terry made the headlines in English football.

FIFA and other regional football governing bodies have stepped hard against racism in response.

Education / New Unilorin Multi-functional ID Card Ready by oladapoa1(m): 12:09pm On Sep 17, 2013

In its sustained drive for excellence, the University of Ilorin has scored another first with the introduction of a multi-functional staff and student identification card.

The new ID card, a one-stop smart card with sophisticated features, can be used for financial transactions and for gaining access to key facilities on campus, in addition to serving the traditional function of identification of its holders.

The “Combo Card” project, which is in furtherance of the “Cashless Policy” of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), was coordinated by the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic). The cards were produced for the University by Interswitch and it is the first of its kind by any university in the country.

Presenting the new “combo card” to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, last Monday (September 9, 2013), the Project Manager, Mr. Monsur Raji, said, “Unlike the old ID card that just serves as a means of staff and students' identification, the new card has three distinct functions, as it could be used as payment card, access control and identification.” It also contains the holder’s blood group specification.

Mr. Raji explained that the card can be used like the regular ATM cards, saying that “it can be loaded with specific amount of money and used for payment anytime of the day or night, from just about anywhere in the world.”

The Project Manager pointed out that the cards are also accepted as Payroll cards, as it could be used for fast payment from the University Bursary Department to the account of the card holder.

Mr. Raji also disclosed that the card would also help in the physical security of the campus as it will determine who gains access to key University facilities like the Senate Building, the Library, the Clinic, classrooms, hostels, offices, and Club houses.

According to the Project Manager, the card would serve “multiple identification purposes where staff members and students would no longer have to carry multiple cards such as Library identification cards, clinic identification cards, club identification cards and hostel cards.”

Receiving his new smart card, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ambali, commended the project team headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. R. A. Lawal, for a job well done.

The Vice-Chancellor pointed out that the introduction of the new smart card was part of the internationalization drive of the University, saying, “The University of Ilorin is trying to embrace the internationalization drive whereby once you graduate from the University you will feel comfortable wherever you go. It is one of the best practices in today's world.”

Prof. Ambali said because of the sophistication of the new smart card, the Centre for Research, Development and In-House Training (CREDIT) would be required to organise an induction workshop for staff and students of the University on the operation of the card.

Commenting on the usefulness of the new card, the Registrar, Mr. Emmanuel D. Obafemi, said it would help in checkmating late coming and truancy as members of staff would be required to swipe their cards to record the time of their arrival and closing from work.

you will see many vigilante sites all focused on African Scam, they support their local fraudsters and spite the African fraudsters including whoever wrote this crap, Ive not seen any vigilante for click fraud but i know a lot of White and Arab folks that survive on click fraud. This article contain a lot of missing information that could change your point of view. For starters the service was created by a Pakistani student, this particular service paid all his bills through his university. (I bet if he begs the owner of blog for money for university he would not provide). Furthermore the service existed since 2005 and have been used for major damage and spy activities which was not mentioned in this article and those damages were done by Asians and Arabs and South Americans, using this particular service I didn’t see any mention of that in this article also. The emails were carefully filtered to affect mostly Africans and people that used the service used it in spying each other not even to use as a scam tool. They were so many emails with Facebook account in the list that were missed out from the slide… I start to wonder how smart the professor Damon McCoy would be or is he just another racist? This article was created to make an impression but the writer is so naive and far from the truth because of his plight to make Africans look dumb, Then he brings Voodoo into the matter, can a spyware use voodoo?? But I know this service since 2005 and plenty damages its done beyond your imagination. it was called KeySpy back in the days before bestrecovery. My Questions. A Nigerian didn’t make that software why do blame them? How do you know its the celebrated Yahoo Boys that use the service? The American Government are spying on you what make them better than the users of the service? I beleive the American Goverment wish they had voodoo…. lol. After reading this article is was so funny i thought the racist days were over.. If you want to fight a war again fraudsters start from the top dude.

Politics / Police Arraign Landlord Over Death Of Landlord’s Chairman by oladapoa1(m): 7:11pm On Sep 10, 2013
A 54-year-old man and landlord of a property in Lagos, Michael Igbonoba, has been taken before an Ebute Meta Magistrate’s Court for the alleged murder of a co-landlord, Mr. Femi Fajuhami, after a
fight over payment of PHCN bills. Igbonoba and Fajuhami were said to be members of the Progressive Development Association, a landlord’s association in Morogbo area of Lagos State. While the defendant was said to be in charge of collection of PHCN bills for the association, the deceased was its chairman. The duo were, however, said to have had a disagreement over payment of the electricity bill for the community. Fajuhami, in his position as the chairman, had allegedly challenged Igbonoba for collecting money from residents without remitting same as of when due. The disagreement was said to have degenerated into fisticuffs between the two men with the deceased sustaining injuries and cuts. He was said to have died shortly after the incident, leading to the arrest of the defendant. Igbonoba was subsequently charged with the murder of the 60-year-old man. The police told the court that the defendant killed the deceased by giving him fist blows on his face which made him develop swollen face and nose. The incident occurred in August, 2013. The one count murder charge read, “That you, Michael Ozo Igbonoba, on the 11th day of August, 2013 at about 1100hours, at Ipara Village, Oko Afor, Morogbo, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully kill one Femi Fajuhami, aged 60 years, by giving him fist blows
on his face.” The prosecutor, Woman Corporal Onaiwu Iyobosa, said the offence was punishable under Section 216 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2011. The defendant’s plea was not taken Iyobosa applied that the defendant be remanded in prison custody pending the advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution. However, counsel to the defendant, Mr. Spurgeon Ataene opposed the applicatio, saying the deceased did not die as a result of the tussle with his client. He said, “My Lord, from the information available to us, the defendant is not involved in the commission of the crime. The autopsy showed the man died of hypertension.” Ataene asked that the charge be amended to manslaughter. The magistrate, Mr. O.A. Komolafe, however, ordered that the defendant be remanded in prison custody pending the release of the DPP’s advice. The matter was adjourned till September 25 for Directorate of Public Prosecution’s advice.

over 5,000 students, extorting money from them
and conducting fake entrance examination for
the unsuspecting victims. Chukwujindu, was nabbed at the premises of his
non-existent College Hospital which has the sign post “University College Hospital Ogboko, Ideato, P.O.Box 1960, Orlu, Imo State. Also written on the
signpost, which was conspicuously mounted by

to churches across the country, as most of the
students claimed they came to know about the Institution through their pastors. Chukwujindu claimed to have the permission of
the State Government and Federal Ministry of education to run his non-existent College hospital. He also claimed to be a product of the prestigious
Harvard University, America. “I won a Federal Government scholarship to study abroad, but was incapacitated by an
accident which disfigured one of my legs and I
was flown back to Nigeria where I later decided
to set up the College,” he said. Assisting the suspect, who claimed to be the vice
–chancellor of the University College hospital, was a middle aged woman later identified as Ngozi

deaf and dumb, caused a stir when it was found
that she was the Dean of Faculty of Medicine of

Politics / Why We May Need To Rotate The Fct. by oladapoa1(m): 10:10pm On Sep 07, 2013

Any time there is an inter-ethnic misunderstanding in Nigeria, it serves as a god- sent opportunity for bigots and tribalists to offload the bile in them. The recent crisis over the “deportation” of some people from Lagos to Onitsha, Anambra State was such an opportunity. The social media has made it easy for Nigerians to express their views promptly and freely. There are no fears of such views being edited or moderated by any person. Such opinions sometimes get overboard especially when commentators have the opportunity to comment under false identity. For those Igbo who always seek every opportunity to rekindle the Igbo-Yoruba “cold war”, it was an opportunity to take swipes at Governor Babatunde Fashola and the Yoruba as “tribalists” and “Igbo-haters”, reminding them that if not for the Igbo, the Yoruba would have all died of hunger and poverty. And for those Yoruba that can barely tolerate the sight of the Igbo “on their soil”, it was an opportunity to warn them that time has come to chase them out of Yorubaland to the jungles and caves of Igboland where they would die in squalour. But if these people can be pardoned because they
are ordinary people that hold no high offices and have no resonating names, what can one say when prominent figures get involved in such low-road comments? One of such persons is Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation. In the heat of that crisis, Fani-Kayode decided that
it was time to teach Nigerians the history of Lagos and the truth about the Igbo. In two articles filled with hate and bigotry, entitled, “Lagos, the Igbo and the Servants of Truth,” and “The Bitter Truth about the Igbo”, Fani-Kayode made serious efforts to demonise the Igbo and project the Yoruba as the race after God’s heart. It was disappointing that a graduate of Cambridge University and former minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria would not be able to draw a line between defending his viewpoint and denigrating an ethnic group that is part of the country that offered him the highest position he has held in his life. One would have expected that if Fani-Kayode disagreed with the view of Chief Orji Uzor Kalu, whom he mentioned in one of the articles, or any Igbo for that matter, he should have addressed the person and punctured his view, rather than using that as an opportunity to tar all Igbo with the same brush in a most malicious way to draw the hate of other Nigerians upon them. Meanwhile, the point that Fani-Kayode was labouring to prove was that Lagos was developed to its present state solely by the Yoruba. Only a person who loves self-deceit and half- truths would say that Lagos is what it is because of the sole efforts of the Yoruba. That Ibadan — the capital of Western Nigeria for decades – or any of the Yoruba cities such as Akure, Abeokuta, Ife, Osogbo and Ado-Ekiti are not comparable to Lagos is a testimony that the claims of Fani-Kayode were a simple case of the ethnic supremacy and chauvinism that he is known for. Lagos is what it is because it was a former Federal Capital Territory. That made the Federal Government of Nigeria to build Lagos with the resources of Nigeria, much of which was sourced from the oil derived from the Niger Delta. Right from the colonial days, the leadership situated the head of its railways, seaport and airport in Lagos, which made it the preferred destination for many Nigerians and visitors to Nigeria. Consequently, Nigerians from all over the country, including Yoruba people who were not Lagosians, settled in Lagos and invested massively in it. Having attained an enviable height as the capital of Nigeria, it was not affected when the federal capital status was officially transferred to Abuja on December 12, 1991. The companies and buildings established in Lagos could not be uprooted to Abuja. Since Abuja assumed the status of the FCT, the same thing that happened in Lagos has started happening there. Abuja was transformed from a rural setting to a modern city mainly from resources from petroleum. Today, a plot of land in some parts of Abuja and Lagos is more expensive than in some parts of the United States or the United Kingdom. A fallout from the conceited comments of people like Fani-Kayode is that other parts of Nigeria need to be transformed by the Federal Government like it has done to Lagos and Abuja. It has become clear that given the pseudo-unitary
system Nigeria is practising, it is only the Federal Government that has the capacity to transform a city into an international status. Since Lagos lost its FCT status, the dream of having the Fourth Mainland Bridge has remained a campaign gimmick repeated every four years. If the Federal Government had not constructed the Third Mainland Bridge in the early 1990s, Lagos would have been in a deeper traffic rot today, as the Carter Bridge and Eko Bridge would have been grossly inadequate to take care of the traffic between the Mainland and the Island. I therefore propose that the FCT should be rotated
from one zone to the other for a minimum period of 20 years. This will help to develop the zones faster. The South-East and the South-South, especially, should be made to host the FCT as soon as possible. But if rotating the FCT will cause some confusion, there is another option. South Africa, for example, has three capital cities: Pretoria (executive) Bloemfontein (judicial), Cape Town (legislative). We can replicate that here. Nigeria enjoys running monopolistic and monolithic systems. There is no reason for all the Federal Government ministries and agencies to be domicilled in Abuja. The congestion bug that hit Lagos decades ago has hit Abuja. If the judiciary, the legislature and some of the ministries and agencies were located in other zones outside Abuja, there would be less congestion in Abuja and more development in other parts of Nigeria. There is no reason for making Abuja the headquarters of ministries such as trade and investment, science and technology, sports and youth development, works and housing, agriculture, culture and tourism, and agencies like the NAFDAC, SON, NAPTIP, NBC, etc. This decentralisation would also make some Nigerians to have a reason to live in other parts of Nigeria outside their ethnic zones. The situation now is that there are so many Nigerians that cannot live or invest in any other part of Nigeria outside Lagos and Abuja because of their former and present status as the FCT. To them, every other part of Nigeria outside Lagos and Abuja is not “national” and safe enough. But if some other cities are designated as the Federal Capital Territory in other zones, such mindset will change. If these zones develop, they will attract investment. Nigerians will stop travelling in droves to Lagos and Abuja. But whether the FCT is rotated or decentralised, the bigots who usually talk about Lagos or any other part of Nigeria as their exclusive land should be told to desist from such. Nigeria belongs to Nigerians no matter their state of origin. That is what differentiates a Nigerian from a Nigerien. As long as Nigeria is one nation, statements like “go back to your state” must not be allowed to be uttered either in jest or in seriousness. In 1967, the former Eastern Region broke away from Nigeria to protest the pogrom visited upon it. Over a million people died via bullets and hunger in the effort to get them back into Nigeria. Therefore, nobody should tell any Nigerian to go back to his state. Nigerians are in a marriage. And that marriage may be tumultuous but not broken. Even if in future Nigeria ceases to be one nation, as West Africans, citizens of the individual countries will still travel freely within the new countries. If Nigerians can live in the US, the UK, the United Arab Emirates, and South Africa and own property there, I don’t see why compatriots cannot live together in peace and own property in any part of the country without harassment.
