New York Police headquarters was built with less than N10b equivalent.
What year was this built? The briefs of both buildings are different, the contractor different even the people are different. Country and her people also matters in project administration.

Yea right! Can it be sophisticated than Scotland Yard??
Don't compare them please. No basis for comparison. Scotland yard in the UK and EFCC in NIGERIA. Mbanu!!!!..... even the people leaving in this entities are miles apart in their reasoning and relationship to one another.

A large amount of the component used in that project was imported into the country. You should know that the dollar exchange rates would play a part.

e fit reach ooo, they'll say it took 10bn just to curve the building
Can you see that EFCC logo up there? What if i tell you that it is about 3 meters in height. I mean taller than a coaster bus, taller than your doors, taller than the interior of your rooms and most offices? It's magnificent project by all standard. Our fear should be the institution that would use it and the maintenance stretegy put in place to ensure that 100 years from today, the nation would still be benefiting from this investment.

Most of the Lazy Nigerian youths commenting here have not research when the project was initiated, if it was inflated could it be by their hero since the project predates current government, they are just posting pay per post.
It's all started in 2010.!!!!

Please, i disagree with you. I am a Quantity Surveyor and I can attest to it that no structural or Electrical standard employed can make the base cost of this building exceed 12billion naira. Even if the contractor is Julius Berger. Its all inflated.
I am.sure you have no idea of the preliminary works that was done before the site was habited. While i am.not justifying the high cost, you should also be aware that project conditions varies.

kimjongJezebel:
Mr ITK, you know weti I dey do for a living?

If they actually spent N24 billion on this building then, you and Ibrahim Magu should be jailed
That tall building you are seeing is just one of about 5 buildings on the site. I am talking from an informed position. On the site, there is an ultra modern forensic lab building, A contemporary Male cell building, female cell building, clinic, multi level car park etc.
If you are a QS or a professional in the built environment, you would also understand that the building is just one aspect of a functional project. HVAC systems, site inftastructure, security equipment, preliminary expenses during project, contingency expenses etc also form part of the overall project cost.
Lastly, with a contractor like JBN PLC, a project that someother contractor would execute with 10naira, JBN could execute same with 15naira. The difference comes in the quality of constructure, HSE during works, quality of materials, fittings and fixtures etc.

Here is a project whose design started in 2010 being handed over in 2018. Do you know the obligations of Clients to Contractor in case of the inability of the formal to meet up with some agreements; majorly finances leading to stoppage of works? All these also leads to an increased project cost. How about insurances to people and the project itself? It's also a cost component in project execusion.

This is an interesting project from Design, through construction to handing over. You even have a shooting range in that building!!!!

Don't castigate what you have little or no knowlege about.

Disclaimer
While i am aware that the project runs into Billions of Naira. The exact amount is unclair to me at this time.
I am not also saying that there are no possibilities of inflating the project.

Lastly, Nigerians are the worst enemy of Nigeria. We are people with an unfair attitude to Nationhood. We don't care for each other. The politicians are no good just like the rest of us. The followers are docile and would rather take peanuts than demand for their rights.

THE CONDITION OF A PEOPLE WOULD NOT CHANGE UNTIL THEY CHANGE WHAT IS IN THEMSELVES..

May God bless the land of my birth.

Well, I appreciate you for bringing the Islamic perspective in this. That's is Islamic teaching but you see, evil thoughts will always come as a temptation to try ones faith. A wise fellow will quickly discard such thoughts away but it is not so with all of us. Some do keep these thoughts until they hatch. When such thoughts come, they're not sin but keeping the thought is what can be regarded as a sin because this thoughts can become wish. And it's bad to wish evil for anybody
Alhamdulillah for the blessings of Al-Islam. Thought is not Action. So far your thoughts are not carried out, you are reward bound. Now check this out
In Islam, God would reward you for Good intentions which you intend to carry out but couldn't due to genuine reasons. Isn't that wonderful? Such is the goodness in Islam.

Please I need help and advice, sometimes back,me and my cousin slept on the same bed and at a time I losses my senses and saw my self touching her and she responded and we started romancing one another and took off our clothes and kept touching each other but in the process we realized it was a sin and an abomination but we didn't do any intercourse(penetrati ve), and we stopped and started regretting and ran and met our pastor ,he then prayed and councilled us,but time to time I feel depressed when I remember it and am feeling to go tell our parents, should I go ahead or I should let it die like that huh? Because my image and name is astake here....(or I should have reason to thank God that nothing really happened) please advice me
Alhamdullilah for His mercies. Satan creeps to our head in many forms and he is experienced.
What you should do now?
Repent sincerely to God. Hate your actions in your mind and body without returning to it. Seek forgive from God and you don't need to tell your parents nor your pastor.
Seek the pleasure of God and pray for His forgivess. He is the most merciful and most forgiving.

Most importantly, seek and worship the only one God.

Yes its a sin. Thinking it is sin, as well as doing it.
What are you people saying? How could thinking it be acting it? What God do you serve that would punish you base on your thought? YOU WOULD NOT BE PUNISHED!!!
infact ISLAM gave us the bounty of being rewarded for every act of bad you do not carry out. Knowing that people get hurt if you carry out such act, holding back and not doing such act get you reward.
You rewards are added to your scale of good deeds and on the day of reckoning, you would have an heavier scale of good deeds.

Peace be upon you.

there is no forgiveness in the grave
That is the sweetness of Al-Islam. While your deeds (good or bad) are sent before you at death, there still deeds that continuously benefit you after you are long gone!. If your do deeds that humanity continue to benefit, the reward of such deed would meet you and be added to your scale of good deeds so far that deed still benefits. example is digging a borehole for a community. whenever anyone drinks from that well or washes from the borehole, the reward gets to you! If you plant a tree, whoever eats out of its fruit or benefit from its shade, you would rewarded even in death.
Also, a righteous child that the dead leaves, that remembers him and pray for him. So yes, in Islam we pray for our dead with the hope that Allah the almighty accept the prayer.

A beautiful way of life..... Al-Islam
Christianity EtcRe: Should Christian Women Wear Makeup Or Jewelry? by olajide21: 8:21am On Mar 11, 2018

Scripture?
There's no where it's stated in the bible that wearing of jewelry or makeup is wrong. If there is,I'll like to know.
What the bible emphasized on is modesty.
In a book where there is no law, there is no sin. Christianity does not have a set of rules guiding the lifes of his adherents. If it does then, i would be surprised as hardly is it practised.
Christianity EtcRe: Intellectual: Why Should A Christian Convert To Islam? by olajide21: 9:17pm On Mar 10, 2018
chemystery:
This should tell you that no one was actually inspired. The question we should be asking now is what brand of weed Mohammed, Jesus, Paul, Moses, and the rest took.
If god wants man to know about him, nothing stops him from inspiring or giving revelation to everyone. Then this would be an actual belief in god. What we have now is belief in ancient primitive men who claimed to have gotten revelation from god.

There are lots of finger prints on holy books, but none is god-sized.
There are enough signs Manifesting the existence of Allah around you. Look and think deep. Life does not exist by co incidence.
Christianity EtcRe: Intellectual: Why Should A Christian Convert To Islam? by olajide21: 9:14pm On Mar 10, 2018
tevinsolt:
Christianity predates Islam by a big stretch, If the witnesses when Jesus was on earth wrote their accounts approximately 600 years prior to even the Birth of Muhammad......why should a Christian convert to Islam?

Logically speaking isn't it wise to trust a person's immediate brother or friend's account about that person's life over some distant future relative or non relative?
So was Judaism before Christianity. Even Jesus never associated himself as a christian. Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon, Aaron, Jesus and Mohammad (saw) all worshipped one God. Including Adam.
Yes, Jesus prayed and worshipped hence he isn't God. He is not also the Son of God as he was birthed by a woman. He peed, pooed, ate etc , these are more reasons why he isn't God!!!
Islam, is same as what all prophets as mentioned above brought so it's the only true faith.

Part of the problem non muslims have is their lack of knowledge.of the faith. They know not and judge the faith based on their ill knowledge. Get a book about Islam, read and be informed.
