cheango:What legislative bill did your nass pass to contribute it's own quota and what oversight function or proposition did you put to the executive to help security, purchase of arms approval or welfare? (no be bubu dey increase all the security personnel salaries now) job creation what are you people doing paying yourselves N14m per month and riding in a convoy of 16 cars, all the worth of those cars can create employment and help create another financial economic sphere- corruption, but you have circumvented the cct and changed the laws with your nass - you people aid those that are supposed to manage the resources allocated to them, from the treasury - by requesting for employment slots - contracts from the agencies they oversight - making and changing laws to suit their own peculiar wants - nonsense everywhere!!! |
cheango:So if you did, commit the offence- the defense is, because you are number 3 - you shouldn't be investigated or charged bah? - what makes you better then any of us? - you have one head we have one head - you are in a place of responsibility to your people but you now think you are above the law and your people should worship you bah? or what applies to common citizens should not apply to you because you hold a legislative office, office where you are just representing people - not executive O! Imagine, Legislative office- of first among his own equals - so that makes him extremely important and automatically grants him immunity bah? nonsense everywhere |
cheango:See campaign strategy to bring himself back- playing on the sentiments of kwara people |
Everything is politics to them - making statements as if they are the author and finisher - |
Proudlyngwa:Akwa-ibom is not part of the east- it is part of the south-south, you can't redesign the map of the south south to suit your argument, how would you then teach your children, what is right from wrong- it wouldn't surprise me now if you people would say river niger starts from the east - una no claim part of kogi or benue, because it has nothing to offer bah- whilst they speak your language well - we choose what suits us as against what is actually the truth |
youngsahito:It can't be repaired- they should just build new smaller refineries - that are more cost efficient |
millionaireman:Please educate yourself properly the cardinal points are NORTH - SOUTH - EAST and WEST how much oil reserves does the east have and how much does the south have and the west? - apart from orient oil which other oil exploration company is present in the east? Doesn't that indicate the reserves in the east are next to nothing- Compare it with those in the other to regions west and south- where Forte oil, addax, Mobil, chevron, agip, shell, oando, connoil etc to mention a few, or when did the south south become east? Try to be sincere to yourself - education is not only when you can write- you also have to learn how to apply what has been learnt |
ijustdey:Do they honestly want a solution to ASUU problem and resident doctors? First of all, inaugurate boards that are independent of the federal government ie those from the public and private sector - then Privatize the 2 sectors - and regulate the prices of fees- govt handout to these sectors is making them think with their anus - greed everywhere, in their words "we are fighting for students and better learning conditions, but they want a salary increase, allowance increase, research grant name it" how do those things better the life of students directly? Same with the resident doctors, those ones are heartless- you need to see the way they treat patients- people are sick and dying and they walk pass as if, wetin concern us - get up and walk jare Do they want a solution to ASUP- make them apart with regards the certificate title and do the same as ASUU to them. |
See what I was talking about- he has nothing to offer other then competing against tinubu legacy |
Violetteisbae:In other words, gifty is claiming opening her industry for another man, while she was sleeping with mr 2kay, Abeg go make dem go do blood test hiv is real - una dey see life so? |
feddis:Then that means all the aspirants are all illiterates - I don't know if you have heard their promises, especially when they don't have the power to legislate laws- they want to restructure nigeria, which we all want but they have forgotten where the powers of the president stops, moreso he the president swears to protect and uphold the constitution - |
feddis:You may need to fact check this assumption of yours- we were already heading to the gallows with our economic style- borrowing to meet up recurrent expenditure and 92% of all the projects that the govt said they were involved in was on paper - e.g lagos - ibadan expressway was done on paper- 2nd niger bridge done on paper- the lists are endless |
Jowanson:And that would mean the govt is doing the same thing they have been doing over the past 16yrs, prior to this administration - let's be honest if we have been doing something, in a particular way and we are not getting the required answer, which has been evident enough - do we still continue along that trajectory? Or twerk the situation and see if it works? I still insist- it is fellow nigerian's like you and I, that are taking advantage of a good policy and turning it on its head for their personal benefit- well truth be told - we can only see or view matters from positions that are available to us- even when there is evidence that they are trying to do something different, i am not saying you should take the FG position, but put yourself in osinbajo or bubu's shoes - bear in mind they are trying to develop or empower the masses, the larger populace - as against less then 50,000 that would have shared the money or the system that would have consumed the funds under the term processes, or pilot schemes- involved in implementing - to further emphasize these matters, facts don't lie, check the economic implications or effects of this so called wasteful spending on the economy- at this period without getting the facts and details - we can see, even if we can't feel it immediately, inflation is supposed to skyrocketed based on prices of staple food items, moreso it's supposed to be crazily high but as small as it looks - that trader moni has buffered our local economy and a structure is being worked around it - nipost microfinance banks - that also tells you it is working somehow and it would take time for the effect to be felt- this is my personal opinion - I maybe wrong, but I know it is a departure from the past- I didn't want to join the debate of the growth rate of 6% compared to the 1.8% now - but let me say this our economy is largely oil based -increase on oil prices in the international market would reflect on the growth of the economy- and a reduction vice versa, so no figure works independently - same with inflation - this happens when much money is chasing fewer goods- don't you think the previous statistics are faulty because right now where is the money talkless of excess money chasing fewer goods- it's simple facts and figures, that's why I said NOI was doing abracadabra because then there was so much money chasing few goods, which is evident in subsidies that were paid to people for lifting and importing sand and water just to mention 1 |
Autonomy for states and local govts the current administration is already on it- the discussion of decentralization of police this NASS lead by shataki- just paid lip service to it, because it's on the exclusive list, just like the sham they call power sector privatization (which centralizies all power generated and redistribution, a simply private sector monopoly, oligopoly which cannot be terminated, because it's not simply enough as to have alternative power wires running our streets and entering our houses like communication - wickedness in high places, the pdp didn't stop there, they went ahead and signed an agreement that FG cannot terminate a sale they made, even if the investors are not providing the required level of service- to make matters worst, the other party does not need to invest a single pin into the agreement, because the FG also created a funding arrangement with the cbn and banks to fund this agreement) - Resource management, the current administration is putting all the modalities up to back it up- finally this administration is running a socialist oriented administrative style - the pdp sold nigeria - they were running a capitalist style (they have forgotten that the average nigerian is greedy - they prefer their personal satisfaction to that of the generality and that is why a few people became super rich while majority wallowed in extreme penury) |
Jowanson:Very interest opinion- but you have forgotten the most important thing- the govt came up with an idea to create a N20b economy - some nigerian's, the usual culprits responsible for taking advantage of any good idea- just like those that call people and scam them by requesting for their bvn's or those that tell people to send the pin's are always on the prowl, I want to ask you a simple question and I want you to give me a honest reply - is it the president or VP that is directly responsible for this disbursement or fellow nigerians like you and I? Note- the FG intention is to create a N20b economy around the looted and repatriated funds |

Isn't this ironic? This is the first time the name nigeria would not be captured in the mix- well, truth be told it doesn't add up somehow from my position - poverty and porn go together- this is a miss match - eg Indonesia where they legalise prostitution porn goes hand in hand and same with poverty - well I may be wrong - just my own thought or analysis |
figment232:Thank God I can still wish- talk ur own opinion |
Amumaigwe:I don talk na my opinion |
I would like to ask this simple question- did the political party hold a primary? That was observed by inec as either the ameachi faction or Abe faction? - if Yes! The court does not have the right to say one party cannot field any candidate in the 2019 election, since they are not the electoral umpire- the court has over stepped it's bounds by meddling with the internal working of the party and as such if this goes to the Supreme Court it would be thrown out for lack of judicial responsibility |
Ugosample:You can never know who is competent, if you haven't worked with the person- the person may be intelligent book wise - but still not competent enough to running a small bookshop business - if all professors were competent or certification was the right measure for competence, which I guess you are referring to - we wouldn't have one single problem in nigeria because we have the highest number of professors in the World, talk less of Doctors of letters or PH.d holders - we wouldn't even have to bother ourselves in looking for people to run our public institutions |
DMerciful:Maybe, Maybe not - why take the risk? especially when we can see the examples they are making of other states - |
Ugosample:A conference has no place in our constitution so it/they are powerless - it's just a place where people come together and talk- they can't usurp the power of the legislator - and whatever they recommend can only be sent to the executive that inaugurates them- which would in turn send their recommendations as an executive bill to the Nass for debate and or, legislation - and I haven't come across any legislator that would legislate on a bill sent by another body with the "same kind of representation" |
DMerciful:Moreso I just realised the domestication of the FOI bill is the prerogative of the state house of assembly - let them do their work |
DMerciful:See, we are smart at drawing comparism where we feel it suits us - I am a lagosian- spent a few years outside this country and grew up in lagos- went to school in lagos, watched lagos when cars, use to use, odd and even numbers to ply the routes of lagos - saw lagos develop - magodo, phase 1 - phase 2, when ogudu GRA was bushes - I went boys scouting in the bushes - I know ikeja at the back of my palms - I knew when some development started happening behind the main development in opebi - I went to airport hotel to eat yam and stew from hajiya - I knew when obj was still operating new world hotel- oshoppy plaza, water parks all were built in my presence, because I passed through there daily to go home from chrisland nursery and primary school- I have seen lagos or experienced lagos - yes I stay in abj now and for some years - my family has a house in lagos - so do you want to tell me about lagos politics? My father was an accountant and a politically exposed person so I should be able to tell you about a few things I know in lagos |
Ugosample:My nigeria is not a shit hole, (we have challenges and we are, far better then some other countries in the world, Venezuela for one, which has the highest deposits of crude oil in the world) - because, if your nigeria is a shit hole - you are part of the shit in it- tell that to those that vote for other parties and would rather unleash hell, in other parts of the country, that they should have a change - but no, they would rather die, or brand another party as the enemy of their people just to perpetuate themselves in power- let me surprise you, benue state has recorded a certain level of peace, even herdsmen have just disappeared from all lands in benue- and there is peace, the muslim party has been changed with a "Christian party" like they say in beer parlours in benue - even salaries that somehow were not being paid is now being paid regularly, and backlogs are being paid, P.A's to the governor are no longer killing or arming people there is peace in the land- do you think the people don't know what is happening? Do you think the people are not involved in it? Emirs in some northern states are serving information to criminals to unleash mayhem on their own people for a fee, the people are waiting and when they can't take enough from this harbingers of deceit, whether they are in the ruling party or opposition - they would be struck like a thief in the night |
DMerciful:To the issue of comparism, we should be proud that a state with less then 1/8th the size of Kenya and 1/5th the size of ghana, has such an economy, even without the commensurate land mass to do bigger things - it also means something must be working right in lagos - then why should the sophisticated voters in lagos, not the ignorant people that have ethnic leanings - change a winning team/party, maybe you may not know but I read it up somewhere, that lagos is the only state where 25-40% of the inhabitants, have at one point or another traveled to other advanced countries and they know the way things work there - |
DMerciful:How many federal ministries or MDA's, have open books to look at even with the freedom of information act, and these people don't have anything like autonomy like the states- how many states have opened their books or have their budgets online, for people to look at and scrutinize like lagos? - stop trying to be politically right - follow the the budget then the income (or what is available) and follow the expenditure - if the state books are not open the world bank would never - I repeat never, borrow the state money to fund various projects world bank projects - but wait O! Are you a Lagosian? If you are fine, this is a healthy debate - but if not I may have to advice you, or ask you to look into the books of your state- these positions you people take, are part of the reasons - it hard to remove the state of origin from our national lexicon |
GEEBITE:That was the intent to make your likes understand it - without insulting anyone- I guess maybe you were one of the inspectors at the gate when I visited - talk your own,i gave my opinion gboro mi ro |
DMerciful:It would have been a better fight, he may have not won though because of his party allegiances, because that's how it stands, lagosians don't want the PDP- that apart please listen to agbaje campaign messages, (not the radio jingles or poster campaign or billboard messages, listen to what he says when he is being interviewed), in 2015, he was throwing the ethnic card, and immediately "as a proud yoruba man" - I knew his political career was about to end- there are a lot of threads on this issue on nairaland, that aside if you have the opportunity to listen very well to his campaign messages, there is practically no difference from what is currently on board -apart from him trying to say most of the agencies or consultants are influenced, brt buses available but not being distributed - thank God he did come and say he wants to put a ferry on on the highway, he hasn't come out to say any negative about the metro-lines - all he is campaigning for is a change of the face or supposed face of the leadership of lagos politics- not because things are not working but because he wants to challenge the authority of his former close associate BAT - that's all |
Ugosample:Well we lie to ourselves a lot But if we want to be honest that's what we play in nigeria - competence doesn't form part of the criteria |
