it has jurisdiction over criminal matters..The CCB was established by the provisions of paragraph 15 (1) of Part 1 of the Fifth Schedule to the 1999 Constitution, which provides thus: “There shall be established a tribunal to be known as Code of Conduct Tribunal which shall consist of a Chairman and two other persons” See Section 20 of the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act, CAP 23, LFN.

The Act provides that the Bureau is established to deal with complaints of corruption by public servants for the breach of its provisions. so by virtue of the powers conferred on it in Paragraph 18 of Part 1 of the Fifth Schedule of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended, D CCT has powers to adjudicate on matters within its jurisdiction, including criminal ones.

is it y it is opened like this... the principle of natural justice demands that court proceedings be held in open places nt behind closed doors..if dey had done it behind closed doors and d decision of d tribunal is nt in his favour,he wuld be able to go to d appelate courts on d basis that natural justice was breached.. and to add,d decision of d tribunal is not final,dts y we have appellate courts
