Some years ago, a friend of mine with a 2:1 degree in Microbiology went back to study Medicine at the age of 26. He joined at 200 level.

Some of our peers mocked his decision then but the guy was determined. Many of us went about writing aptitude test and getting interviewed in places like KPMG, Nestle, Chevron,Cadbury and other fancy multinationals. Almost none of us got those jobs. While we were writing the tests, going for those interviews and hoping to be millionaires before our friend becomes a doctor, the guy was making steady progress in his studies.

Some other peeps went on to do masters and doctorate also. However, by the time they concluded their PhD, our friend has become a doctor and he got employed almost immediately while the ones with PhDs are looking for lecturing jobs up and down. He didn't have to serve because he did that before he went to Medical School.

Today, our friend seem to be more fulfilled than many others because he followed his passion and he is well rewarded for it.

You should know that medical doctors are better rewarded than PhD holders in most climes. If you happen to be my brother I would advise you to go to medical school if you have passion for medicine. However, if you must go for a PhD, please don't do it in Nigeria.

We've been together for a while now, and I intended to marry her, but she has a flaw that i can't get past and she has to change.

She never apologizes, she finds it so difficult to say sorry for any wrongdoing, she will either try her hardest to defend it or start being emotionally manipulative, I have spoken and complained to her about it so much and I'm tired of talking about it because it now seems like I'm begging for an apology from someone that is supposed to care about how I feel.

It may seem like a small issue to some but I've thought about it, if she's like this now what will she be like during marriage?
At this point i think I should just end the relationship instead of going ahead to marrying someone with a flaw I know I can't live with.

I'm sure you must have used people's daughters anyhow and now u want to settle for a 20 yr old. Do so, at least she'll have a younger side dude in school to be herself with.

Personally I don't. Cause I'm a very patient person when it comes to relationships, I'll give you enough grace to do me over time and time again before I make it known to you that I've had enough.

When I'm done with a relationship my mindset is that the guy lost me and not the other way around. Affluence, mind blowing sex, even fine face will not make me go back to an ex, Its almost like going back to eat my vomit.

Why will high percentages be deducted from the workers salary... It is absolutely wrong. I was jobless for some months, got a job through an outsourcing firm at a bank with a ridiculous offer. I rejected it when I found out that 50% of my salary was to go to the HR firm. I cannot reduce myself to the state where a monkey will work and a baboon will eat. We can change this form of slavery if and only if, we discourage it publicly

Clearing is the first thing to do after land had been acquired. The cost varies depending on the location but an Aboki/Agatu man shouldn't charge more than 4k/plot making it #24,000 an acre.

The next thing to do is to acquire the hybrid plantain sucker to be planted. I can provide you with highly yield plantain sucker at an affordable price of #130 per sucker that makes it #130,000 per 1000 sucker cuz you'll need 1,000 plantain sucker on an acre of land.

To plant the sucker you can contact those who did the clearing for you or get in touch with professionals to do that for you at the rate of #30-#50 per sucker. (I can help with that @ #30 per sucker) let's say you'll spend #30,000 here.

Clearing of weeds should be done twice first in 2-3 and 5-6 months respectively its the same amount as the clearing charge which is #24,000.

Fertilizer/maure needs to be added to enhance good yield. Poultry wastes is the best here and you can get this for free from poultry farmers or pay a token for it. Let's assume #5,000 for this.

Total money spent = #250,000.

Then, it's harvest time.

The price of plantain bunches are variable, it depends on the size of the bunch. The price varies from #800 from small bunch to #1,500. Average bunch should be around #1,150. Assuming after harvesting you have like 900 bunches available for sale and you sold it #1,000 each totalling 900k after harvest.
Deducting your start-up capital which is #250,000 and #50,000 for miscellaneous (fuel, transport etc) you'll be left with #600,000.
You can make double the amount. If you follow my calculations I restrict it to the barest minimum profit you can make.

The cost of production for the next planting season is very low as there is no need to buy suckers again. In fact you'll have enough suckers to start up another plantation or you may decide to sell the suckers to a fellow farmer.
