I agree with you, we're not a park the bus side. This coach is not parking the bus though. We play with flair when needed. Against big teams, we focus more on defensive play and counter attack, which is how we were able to draw against Sweden in 2015. You remember Australia beat us, without even playing well. They just prevented our outlets, and we became easy to pick aside.
We have a more balanced team now, and are more compact.

I disagree. Its not every time we will play teams that sit back. If we play a team like Spain, I expect her to track back. Overall, I am quite happy with the team's progress. Hopefully, the girls get a good camping for at least 6 full weeks of intense preparation.

No they are not out. They'll probably finish with 1 or 2 points, so will play for around 10th place.

Actually, there is no 'qualifying from the group'. The 3 groups are ranked at the end of the group stages. Then teams play for positions between 1 and 12.
If we beat Belgium, then we will play for positions 3-6. If not, we play for positions 7-9, and so on.

We will learn a lot about officiating in this tournament. Why do we attract so many penalties. Surely it's a reputation thing rather than actual fouls.

We will win by a good margin.

According to the Austrians, we slept off at the back and their striker was one on one with Tochukwu. Tochukwu came out and brought the player down. The incidence happened outside the box, so no penalty.

I wont worry much about Oshoala missing chances in a friendly. She has improved a lot since joining Barca, and will keep improving. Her coaches will have seen her miss those chances and will work on her.
The team did well considering they only came together about 24 hours before the game. We will improve in the next game.

Good learning experience. I dont think the Austrians are that better than us, and 11 vs 11, with Oshoala being clinical, we could have beaten them resoundingly. An opportunity missed to see Cecilia Nku. Overall, good game. Now let me go find the highlights or full match on youtube.

No links. I follow updates from the Austrian football page. Apparently, Oshoala just missed a glorious chance to put us ahead.

The referee today, is from Czech, and will also referee in France for the world cup, so its good to have a taste. Also, she has booked 2 Austrians as well, so we are not doing badly.

2 more yellow cards for Anam Imo and Chinaza Uchendu. We might learn more about officiating in this tournament than we learn our football. It is very good at least. Better now than at world cup.

Bad day for Cecilia Nku as she had to be removed to allow for another goalie to replace Tochukwu. She will show herself in the next match hopefully.
