Did we play USA at the AWCON? U are acting like the competition suddenly dropped to rock bottom. If u compare this 5-1 to the Eq Guinea match it is clear that this match was better on the eye. I am not giving a verdict on the coach I am just speaking on the match
You know its refreshing to have a national team with tactical identity again. Even the super eagles, it is difficult to say their tactics.
Kudos to Dennerby who has stuck with his tactic and it seems to have been drilled home amongst the home based players. He said 8 of this team will go to France. I think Uchenna Kanu is definitely going, Nwabuoku is pushing hard too.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 6:58pm On May 09, 2019
I am very impressed with the fitness level of the players today. Uchenna Kanu is lethal with her head. She's going to France. Also very very impressed with Adebisi Saheed when she came on. She is the future of Falcons midfield.
Good to see Nwabuoku play at Centre back. She will gain from it.

PoliticsRe: Adamu Garba: Why Northern Nigeria Supports Buhari by olapluto(m): 11:35am On May 06, 2019
Very deficient logic.
1. He sweepingly mocks his people as being unidirectional. They cannot think beyond the one direction.
2. He somewhat thinks integrity equals good governance. Unfortunately, Buhari has shown that this doesnt work. Buhari's integrity doesnt go beyond his office at the villa. Once you get to Abba Kyari, then it is dejavu
3. Insecurity is getting out of hands simply because of logic like Adamu's. When most heads of security agencies are from the North, then the direction is one way. It only takes a half baked criminal to bypass their logic. Buratai is prolonging the war with BHT because he knows he's safe in this Northernocratic environment.
4. Corruption isnt even being tackled. Most guys who feed fat of Nigeria's money are doing so even today. The only difference is that Buhari's folks have joined them.
5. By the time Buhari finishes his 2nd term, I am very very sure APC, Tinubu and others will have lost relevance. Buhari has been given the opportunity by Nigerians, but he has failed. It is even more telling that insecurity is getting out of hands in the North, where Buhari seems so interested in placating.

Currently watching a live match with Ngozi Okobi playing. She is playing more on the right side of the attack. She is not effective at all in that position and the match is in 2nd half now.
She's not tracking back, not creating chances and just not as impactful as she should be if we are to depend on her to create chances.

Schemerkhiz:
3-5-2 formation....who will the coaches then sacrifice from not starting among the 3top forwards
Desire Oparanozie
Asisat Oshoala
Fransisa Ordega

playing Oshoala or Ordega as a wing back will always be an unfavourable decision because they're our best options upfront...
3-5-2 can still accomodate our front 3. That 3-5-2 is usually more like a 3-2-4-1, with Oparanozie in front and Okobi, Oshoala, Ordega and maybe Ajibade behind her. It is a formation that offers good defensive stability, and when it clicks, it means we can overload the flanks.

This is what happens when we broadcast and somewhat glorify suicide. I think there should be a blanket ban on reporting suicide deaths. It could become attractive in this frustrating times.
EducationRe: Why Finland’s Education System Is Considered The Best In The World by olapluto(m): 1:06pm On May 01, 2019
justli:
Finland has the best educational system, yet every ground breaking advancement in tech and engineering is has been done by Americans.

Maybe they should start by telling us the number of Nobel Laureates that the country produce. Even small country like Israel Trump them in every front.
Actually this is not correct. Scandinavians are good inventors. However, they are usually not keen to develop it, hence they sell the science. America on the other hand is capitalism redefined. They will buy every and any start up.
Most innovations coming from America are usually not American.

Liberal kids learn more and are taught independence from a very early age. I live close to Finland, and my daughter starts learning at age 6. I was not happy with this because at 4, she seems to be behind whenever we visit Nigeria.
However, what she excels at, some adults in Nigeria cannot match her. She developed interest in computers and electronics from age 2. Today, she can effectively navigate her way round most electronics at home with no formal training. Also, amazingly, she is able to put words together to make meaning, even with Yoruba language she hears us speak.

I think in Nigeria, we are living in 18th century with our bodmas educational system. I must also confess that I cannot bear to see my daughter at 4 years unable to write numbers 1-10, so I do evening classes for her at home. When she gets to 6 years, she can learn more in school.

WAFU is a very good test for the incoming newbies. Lets see how hard their bones are when playing against tough Ivoriens or other West African local league champs.

Fear Northern elders and emirs. Thats how Borno elders came out crying when BHTs were being hit. Any emir who is against the airstrikes is probably in the know about banditry.

The video was Posted by one of jtf stationed in baga. Don't really know where the incident takes place. Seems ours army just dealt a blow to the boko boys. I can count up to dead 7 Boko Haram. 2 of the gun truck burning while another one captured
The type of video our army should be putting out. Rather, it is lame statements that leave so much to be imagined. This video is longer than a 3-page communique.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 10:30am On Apr 09, 2019
This team is improving, but it will seem it is losing its usual attacking flair. It is normal, and for me, expected. The fact that we are so organised, and compact is a very good advantage. If we can keep shape for 90 minutes, and improve fitness, we will cause teams troubles.
Yesterday's game was very good, and defensively we were tested, and we stood tall for most of the match.
Tactically, I think the coach should go to 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 so that we can create more chances while also being defensively strong.

SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 4:17pm On Apr 08, 2019
Nigerian coach gets a yellow after complaining about the obviously biased officiating. Its a friendly, but the ref has given every 50-50 to Canada. Probably a shock to the Oyinbo coach who isnt used to his teams getting so much bias from officials. We are used to it here in Nigeria, especially female football referees.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 4:14pm On Apr 08, 2019
Free player in the box, and Canada go ahead. 2-1. We became sloppy defensively.

2nd half starts and Canada bring in veteran striker Sinclair. As she enters, Nigerian goalie shouts to her defenders 'we fear nobody, nothing dey happen'. Good battle ahead.

Thanks... Except for miracle and our normal "patriotism ",dis coach hasn't done anything tactically to dis team, forget d lead,we barely had 3 successful passes to each oda,no game control,no chances created, same problem dt was noticed during awcon still persists undecided.I would be marvelled if we surpass d group stage

Bascovanvelli...u dey try o,dey support both eagles and falcons with passion grin ,abeg pick one struggle smiley
Of what use is stringing 3 passes together when there's no organisation. I think this team has improved a lot. It is no surprises that Canada find it hard to create chances too. Uchenna Kalu is an exciting prospect.

They should recall Peter Dedevdo, Edwin Okon to the junior national female teams.. That Bala Nkiyu is a disaster. ...
As far as Im concerned, I'll take dedevo for U20 permanently, and find an ex falcons star for U17.

It is a disgrace that Peace Efih has not made the team yet. She was by miles our best player at the last U20. I honestly don't get her omission so far.
Bros U20 is very very different from senior level, especially world cup.

Congratulations to our girl Ihezuo for securing a good move to China. This coach has helped in that aspect.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 11:16am On Apr 07, 2019
Okobi is good, but she isnt being developed so much at her club. We do not really need to depend on a playmaker, and I am happy the coach isnt doing so. We can do very well down the flanks, and if we have good ball crossers, we can get good goals.
In the women's game, players like Okobi are rare, and the midfield control is what usually gives teams upper hand. I will be looking forward to Ayinde helping free up Okobi so she doesnt have to do much dirty work in the midfield.

Well!!! I'll take your prediction from a patriotic view. this Canada team is very good, remembered they beat England some days back and there are in top ten in FIFA ranking, it will be very difficult for Nigeria to defeat them.

Any idea of why we lend the Icelandic team our goalkeeper.
They probably didnt have a keeper or the keeper got injured. Anyways, it is good for Alaba. Maybe they can sign her.

Canada may be good for England, but I think we're at par in terms of quality of team. England is not so good btw. Also, we've always beaten Canada everytime we meet.

How did you know that we will score six goals?

Oya tell me how many goals we will score against Canada so that I can place a bet.
Sorry I'm not a betting person, just a studious fan of our female teams. I think we will drag Canada beyond their expectations. I'll go for a 3-2 win.
BTW, Alaba Jonathan is a good goalie despite conceeding yesterday for the Icelandic team. I love this pix of how she commands her area. She's very good with this.
