Crime › Police Arrest Four After They Gang-raped Nigerian Woman In Delhi by olas24u(op): 9:45pm On Feb 21, 2015
ajjad Hussain
Indian police said they had arrested four men on Friday in connection with the alleged kidnap and gang rape of a Nigerian woman in a moving car in New Delhi.

The woman, police said, was kidnapped on Thursday evening from outside the same mall in south Delhi where, in late 2012, another woman had spent the evening before she was gang-raped on a moving bus in a case that horrified the world. She later died of her injuries from the attack.

Rajan Bhagat, a spokesman for Delhi police, said the Nigerian woman “was taken at 8 p.m. On Thursday in a car from Saket mall by a group of men.”

“We have already arrested four Indian men in the case,” he said.

The woman has not been named in accordance with Indian law that protects the identities of alleged victims of rape. The police spokesman declined to give further details about the alleged attack.

It was not immediately possible to reach the Nigerian embassy in New Delhi for comment.

The men, who are in custody and have not yet been charged with any offense, have all engaged lawyers, Mr. Bhagat said.
It was not possible to reach the men or their legal representatives for comment.

After the 2012 gang rape and murder of a female student in Delhi, India strengthened its laws to protect women from sexual violence and introduced harsher punishments for crimes such as rape.

as for electricity,he did try, after 9 years, electricity finally arrive my area, although it isn't really good but its still better than when there is none.
that cannot be true because the country produces megawatts ,its a country of 170million.that is not an improvement please.OBj managed 4k megawatts ,the successors are meant to take it to 100k

Its not the personalities that are the problem,it is the system and structure that sharpens how they govern.A developing country like Nigeria with a lot of lazy elites needs uncompromising leader, a very tough person that can paddle the ship to a certain point .Gej may be misunderstood, and may mean well, but he promised electricity and did not do it.does were the words i listened to and clapped when i heard it ,so am really dis pointed.many countries have corruption in their systems but it does not affect critical areas and they manage

Unfortunately, you have approached the discuss from the pettiest angle. Go through what the guy said again and you will see where he is coming from. The former president of Yemen just before he was bombed mentioned this too, that most of these islamic extremist groups were created by some states to meet certain foreign policy goals. It is very possible that while shekau rants and raves against the US, the very AK hanging on his shoulder was supllied by an CIA agent through a rogue alhaji. There is an american base in Niger and Chad, the same with france. What are those for?
You make sense die!am following straight away.cheers

Omenka, I know you are a smart guy, so I will give you the opportunity to think again. How on earth do you believe every crap you read, if you are not biased? Where is the proof that our borders are not manned in the two states? How difficult is it to go there with cnn and make your case? Lai and APC are doing nigerians a big disservice.

It shouldnt be difficult to prove, should it? We need to stop all this nonsense. Jonathan is not perfect but we should not gangup on him because he's quiet and democratic. if Jona was a northerner, would he be harassed daily like this? If he was yoruba, would we not be celebrating him like we do obj? He who comes to equity must come with clean hands o.

On the other hand, if all the allegations against Jona were true, he has brought a curse on himself. He got there on our national goodwill. May God judge all of us. Both APC and PDP.

Politics › Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan Wants U.S. Troops To Fight Boko Haram by olas24u(op): 3:53pm On Feb 14, 2015
ABUJA, Nigeria—With his oil-powered economy faltering and just five weeks to go before he faces a close election, Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan is appealing to the U.S. to send combat troops against his country’s most intractable problem: the Islamist insurgency Boko Haram.

The 57-year-old president of Africa’s largest democracy said in an interview that he has been asking the U.S. since early 2014 to send combat soldiers along with military advisers to Nigeria to battle Boko Haram. Citing intelligence reports, he said the militants were receiving “training and funds” from Islamic State, the jihadist group whose leadership is based in Iraq and Syria.

“Are they not fighting ISIS? Why can’t they come to Nigeria?” Mr. Jonathan said, in his first interview with Western media this year. “Look, they are our friends. If Nigeria has a problem, then I expect the U.S. to come and assist us.”

In Washington, Rear Adm. John Kirby, the Pentagon press secretary, said there are no plans to unilaterally send U.S. troops to Nigeria. But he said the U.S. is discussing its participation in a multinational task force with African nations to assist Nigeria. The task force will be designed to help build up Nigeria’s own counterterrorism capabilities, he said.
