naijatoday: CFA is as recognized as ICAN. You just need to do a little re-orientation regarding tax law diffrences, Acctg standards, and the likes to be a perfect fit. Hope that helps |

Am disappointed that some people are talking about business debt like it was HIV or leprosy. It is normal for a business to take loans. Some of you critics dont even have an idea of what companies are going through in the hand of the irresponsible government and business environment in the waste bin called Nigeria. Those people that owned the debt feed a large population of Nigeria workforce. You Yar'Dull President knows nothing about business and how tough it is. Sanusi is just looking for cheap popularity, and this way he's going to cause more problems that they already have. We need to think deeper than what we read on the tabloids. The nation needs more of confidence building that "destroying" the little we have. Other countries will reshape business environment, reduce cost of funds, reduce tax, etc to help the companies/banks to come out of the problem. Dont follow Sanusi to the grave yard to bury Nigeria. I understand my opinion does not belong to the majority! I have spoken! |

Just relax! The banks aren't in trouble, it just some ethical issues. Also note that only 10 of the banks are audited yet. Others are still being audited, so no one knows which is which. My advice, don't overun the banks, nobody/bank or any other institution can withstand that! Its not that bad. |

Some Nigerians really need to walk out, and shed the weight that is beclouding our reasoning. If its not strike, then its 1m man match - waste of man hours. @your question, Nigeria was not ready for independence at all, these are my reasons: 1. As at 1960 less than 5% of Nigerians were educated 2. Those that we are calling heroes of independence were little children (teenagers & early twenties) e.g. Pa Anthony Enahoro who moved the motion for independence in 1956, (53 years ago is in his seventies now) was how old then? abt 20yrs. 3. An average 20 yrs old now is writing JAMB, abi? or selling on the street. Backward movement! 4. They got the independence for themselves not for YOU nor ME and that's why the started killing and overthrowing themselves when they could not agree on the sharing formula after independence. 5. There is no hero among them not even Awolowo, Azikiwe nor Enahoro. The shagaris are worse. We just have a culture of pitying the dead in this part o the world 6. GTBank is the most professional bank in Nigeria. By going to court they are exploring the best avenue to get the loan settled and that does not mean the bank is BROKE!.
