The Kano State Government on Wednesday commenced payment of N300 million scholarship allowance to 23,987 students in various Nigerian universities and other institutions of higher learning in the country. Prof Fatima Umar, the Executive Secretary of the State Scholarship Board, disclosed this while briefing newsmen in Kano.
According to her, the payment was for the Kano state indigenes studying various programmes in 55 institutions across the country.
Umar however, warned that any student that failed to access the payment should blame him/herself, affirming that the problem could happen if a student provided wrong account number, or failed to issue Bank Verification Number (BVN), or had a dormant account.

moves is the planned handshake across the Niger in which Igbo leaders will be dialoguing with Yoruba leaders in Enugu in the coming week." head injuries was also on the flight to monitor his
progress,’’ TheCable reported However, Malam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special
Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity in a
text message on Thursday in Abuja, said Buhari was
still being treated at a private hospital in Abuja. It would be recalled that Shehu had on Wednesday in
a statement confirmed that the son of the President,
Yusuf Buhari, who was involved in a bike accident,
was in stable condition. He said that Yusuf had the accident on Tuesday night
around Gwarimpa area in the Federal Capital Territory
(FCT), Abuja. Shehu said Buhari junior broke a limb and also
sustained an injury on the head as a result of the
incident. “He has undergone surgery at a clinic in Abuja. He is
in a stable condition. “The President and his wife, Mrs Aisha Muhammadu

President Buhari's son is reportedly still in
intensive care unit and may be flown to
Germany - The president's son was involved in a
motorcycle accident - He is undergoing treatment in a hospital in
Abuja President Muhammadu Buhari’s son, Yusuf Buhari,
will be flown out of the country to Germany for
treatment, according to report by The Cable. had reported that the president’s son was involved in an accident in Abuja on Tuesday,
December 26, and is receiving treatment at Cedacrest
hospital.The presidency in a statement had said Yusuf was in a
stable condition but The Cable reports that sources
said he was still in intensive care unit. The source said: “The statement did not reflect the
true situation of things. The boy is in a critical
condition. He has been in the intensive care unit. “Some doctors in the hospital were even scared to
attend to him just in case anything went wrong.
Imagine doctors being scared to perform their duty.
He is the only son of the president.” The source said plans were being made to get an air
ambulance to take Yusuf to Germany for further
treatment. However, doctors reportedly advised against moving
him in his current state as it may be dangerous to do
so. The source said: “The last time they mentioned flying
him abroad for better treatment, the medical team
advised them against it because the boy needs to be
in a good condition before he leaves. “But they do not seem to be satisfied with the advice
and they are seriously considering flying him out.Reliable sources said Yusuf was out riding with a
friend when the incident happened. A source said:
“Yusuf was trying to overtake his friend when he
suddenly veered off the road and skidded. He lay
there unconscious for a while before the first lady
was alerted. “She ordered that he be immediately rushed to
Cedarcrest Hospital, where he is currently receiving
treatment. We are more concerned about the head
injury than the fractures. As I speak to you, Yusuf is
unconscious."
