The Kano State Government on Wednesday commenced payment of N300 million scholarship allowance to 23,987 students in various Nigerian universities and other institutions of higher learning in the country. Prof Fatima Umar, the Executive Secretary of the State Scholarship Board, disclosed this while briefing newsmen in Kano. According to her, the payment was for the Kano state indigenes studying various programmes in 55 institutions across the country. Umar however, warned that any student that failed to access the payment should blame him/herself, affirming that the problem could happen if a student provided wrong account number, or failed to issue Bank Verification Number (BVN), or had a dormant account. https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/kano-government-begins-payment-of-scholarship-to-23-000-students.html |

Igbos will no longer employ war to solve their problems - Ohaneze Updated: - Ohanexe Ndigbo said its people will not go to war again - Chief Nwodo said they would always employ diplomacy - He said part of this is the alliance with Yoruba leaders The Ohaneze Ndigbo has said that Igbos will no longer use war to resolve conflict in the country but will employ diplomacy. The Punch reports that Chief Nnia Nwodo who is the president-general of the apex Igbo group stated this at the 2018 Igbo International Leadership and Good Governance Retreat held at Abagana, Anambra State. The event was organised by the World Igbo Leadership Council and the World Igbo Information and Communication Network Nwodo said that although Igbos were facing marginalisation in the country the best way to resolve it will be through intelligence. He insisted that never again will Igbos send their men to the war front as a means of solving their problems. He said: “The military created states and local governments and gave the North the highest numbers, not because our population was the smallest, but just part of the marginalisation. “But we should be patient and continue to do what we have already started, knowing that the battle is no longer the type that will be fought with guns, but using intelligence. “We have suffered so much and that is why we should apply diplomacy. One of such diplomatic moves is the planned handshake across the Niger in which Igbo leaders will be dialoguing with Yoruba leaders in Enugu in the coming week." Meanwhile, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has said that President Muhammadu Buhari is the best person to hand over power to Igbos in 2019 and urged them to support him in 2019. Mr. Anthony Sani who is the secretary-general of the group spoke with The Sun where he said the Ohaneze may have endorsed President Buhari for 2019. Accident: Buhari’s son not flown to Germany – Presidency ON December 28, 201711:59 AM/IN News/ BY Emmanuel Okogba/Comments The Presidency has dismissed as `fake news’ an online story that the President’s son, Yusuf Buhari was flown out of the country early Thursday morning following his severe head injury in a bike accident. Yusuf Buhari An online media outfit, TheCable, on Thursday reported that Yusuf had been flown to Germany over head injury he sustained following a bike accident on Tuesday night. “As previously reported by TheCable, he is being flown to Germany for specialist care. “The family is said to have decided on Germany. “He was driven to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja, in an ambulance with oxygen support. “An orthopedic consultant with specialisation in head injuries was also on the flight to monitor his progress,’’ TheCable reported However, Malam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity in a text message on Thursday in Abuja, said Buhari was still being treated at a private hospital in Abuja. It would be recalled that Shehu had on Wednesday in a statement confirmed that the son of the President, Yusuf Buhari, who was involved in a bike accident, was in stable condition. He said that Yusuf had the accident on Tuesday night around Gwarimpa area in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. Shehu said Buhari junior broke a limb and also sustained an injury on the head as a result of the incident. “He has undergone surgery at a clinic in Abuja. He is in a stable condition. “The President and his wife, Mrs Aisha Muhammadu Buhari are thankful to Nigerians for the good wishes and prayers for their son,” the presidential spokesman said. It is no longer news that some pastors live a wealthy lifestyle and this has been a debate among many, especially when some of their church members can not afford three square meals. Popular Kenyan pastor and founder of the Jubilee Christian Church in Nairobi, Bishop Allan Kiunna, has publicly defended his lavish lifestyle when queried. Aside from the headquarters, Bishop Kiunna reportedly owns about 15 branches in Kenya and five international branches. Bishop Allan Kiuna and his wife ,the man of God has been on a traveling spree with his beautiful wife, Reverend Kathy Kiunna, three children Jeremy, Stephanie and Vanessa as well as his two grandchildren. It was also reported that the pastor and his wife love to step out in style as they are found rocking designer outfits and they drive in Range Rover and Mercedes Benz. Speaking on his flamboyant lifestyle, Bishop Kiunna disclosed to The Star during his family vacation that he has never been bothered about what people say about him adding that Jesus Christ never lived a poor life. Bishop Allan Kiuna with his daughters and their husbands Bishop Kiunna said: “As long as I remain true to my God and my calling, what people say is not important. I won’t let another person’s opinion distract me from focusing on the grander vision God entrusted to me. No one throws stones at a mango-less tree. Sometimes ignoring and moving on is the best remedy. You don’t respond to a mosquito bite with a hammer. Only the word of God can demystify misconceptions. I state categorically Jesus was never poor. Tell me of any poor man who has an accountant. Judas Iscariot was the accountant and used to steal. When you steal from a poor man, what can he be left with? You know the answer.”One of Bishop Allan Kiuna's daughters On being humble, the man of God disclosed that humility has nothing to do with poverty or riches because there are people who have money and are still arrogant. He added that it is just a state of the mind. When asked why he needs a private jet, Bishop Kiunna said: “Yes and No. No because it is not yet at hand. Yes because they are speaking and declaring what I am believing God for and I am confident it shall come to pass. When God is ready to do something in your life, even your enemies announce it in advance. The church is expanding. My calendar and itinerary won’t allow me to meet the demands of missionary work. This calls for efficient travel and it’s too tedious to fly commercial from one continent to another.” The pastor recently celebrated 23 years of marital bliss as Bishop Kiunna shared pictures of him and his wife on his Instagram handle with the caption: "It’s been 23 years of Glory!! Am so glad I married my best friend!!! Happy anniversary Shosh."

President Buhari's son is reportedly still in intensive care unit and may be flown to Germany - The president's son was involved in a motorcycle accident - He is undergoing treatment in a hospital in Abuja President Muhammadu Buhari’s son, Yusuf Buhari, will be flown out of the country to Germany for treatment, according to report by The Cable. had reported that the president’s son was involved in an accident in Abuja on Tuesday, December 26, and is receiving treatment at Cedacrest hospital. The presidency in a statement had said Yusuf was in a stable condition but The Cable reports that sources said he was still in intensive care unit. The source said: “The statement did not reflect the true situation of things. The boy is in a critical condition. He has been in the intensive care unit. “Some doctors in the hospital were even scared to attend to him just in case anything went wrong. Imagine doctors being scared to perform their duty. He is the only son of the president.” The source said plans were being made to get an air ambulance to take Yusuf to Germany for further treatment. However, doctors reportedly advised against moving him in his current state as it may be dangerous to do so. The source said: “The last time they mentioned flying him abroad for better treatment, the medical team advised them against it because the boy needs to be in a good condition before he leaves. “But they do not seem to be satisfied with the advice and they are seriously considering flying him out.Reliable sources said Yusuf was out riding with a friend when the incident happened. A source said: “Yusuf was trying to overtake his friend when he suddenly veered off the road and skidded. He lay there unconscious for a while before the first lady was alerted. “She ordered that he be immediately rushed to Cedarcrest Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment. We are more concerned about the head injury than the fractures. As I speak to you, Yusuf is unconscious." We all wish him speedy recovery |

why having presidential elections first, before governorship elections. and look at the date very far from each other, it is well known that whoever wins the presidency would use federal might to capture the states.
