fastcars0000:Any luck with the reconsideration request from IRCC? I hope your wife is okay. |
onile1975:I don't think it's a good idea to share your IRCC login details with the wider public. You are putting your privacy at risk. I hope you don't use this same password for other platforms and banking transactions. I would advise you to take this down. A better approach would be to try to reach out to a moniker directly if anyone would be willing to connect and help one-on-one. Anyone who has logged in would now have access to your full names via the email and password provided. Your post suggests that you have experience in just one company, so it should be easy to fill this out on the portal. I suggest you change your password immediately. All the best. |
GbengaBigBoy:Put in a request for your GCMS Notes. |
Chelseaboy101:The focus should not be on uploading too many documents but on the key ones that, in your judgment, explain your situation. GC Key or IRCC Portal are equally good; they would highlight the documents you must upload after filling in your responses on the application portal based on your profile history and background. I like the IRCC Portal more because it is more seamless than the GC key, where you must fill out certain IMM forms. If you think there is an additional document you need to upload to the ones required by the IRCC system, select the critical ones to be uploaded in the "Additional Document or Client" section. |
Abfaup12:She can't do 6 months anymore, as the validity expires in just 3 months. She has to plan to travel ahead of that expiry date, and she won't be allowed to board the flight on or after the expiry date. |
fastcars0000:I am sorry about this development, considering the time-sensitive nature of the urgent need for you to travel. I would have suggested a "Letter of Reconsideration", but since this has no timeframe and it is unclear if the officer would consider re-opening the file, the best approach would be to reapply, but let your next application show more details explaining each of the officers' concerns under subheadings. Plan to include a detailed letter of explanation to be uploaded to the "Additional Document section" Summarised thoughts below that come to mind: 1. Commence the letter with an introductory paragraph introducing yourself, your position, what you do, your position as of the date you joined the company and your present role. (This would make sense, especially if you rose through the ranks in your present employment). In this same paragraph, state your intention to travel is to support your wife emotionally, who is scheduled to go through a medical surgical operation on [state the date] and include the date you intend to arrive in Canada and the planned exit date. Refer the officer to the supporting documents and the section where this is uploaded on the portal. NB: Supporting documentation would be a letter of invitation from your wife (let her make it emotional), a letter of invitation from the hospital, as you have stated, an HR confirmation of employment, or a letter of leave approval from management or your line manager ( the letter should state the duration of leave and these dates should reconcile with the planned entry and exit date you declare on IRCC portal) Let the subsequent paragraph commence with wording like, I hereby refer to your IRCC official refusal notes dated XX XX XX uploaded on my IRCC Portal account. I want to address each of these concerns honestly and truthfully for your ease of review: 1. The purpose of your visit to Canada is not Consistent with a Temporary stay: Re-affirm your planned entry and exit date and the need to return to your job on XX XX XX as declared in your application portal and consistent with supporting leave of approval, being your source of income. Additional points may be the need to travel back with your wife and kid against your planned exit date in case of the need for further care. 2. Your Current employment situation does not show that you are financially established in your country of residence. Politely state what you earn annually and break it down monthly ( for each amount in Naira, also state the equivalent in CAD). Refer the officer to the attached salary bank statement and recent copies of the payroll slip, Promotion Letters if applicable. You can also obtain a bank reference letter and my bank statement certificate. In this section, state the amount you have set aside, leaving an extra buffer in cash in case of unforeseen contingencies. The amount indicated as being set aside should tally with what you fill out on the IRCC Portal questionnaire. Don't forget to always refer them to where the supporting document is uploaded. 3. Your Assets and Financial Situation do not show you are financially established: Refer them to the section above and re-state where they can find these supporting documents. If you have any property in your name. Attach it as well. 4. You have significant Family Ties in Canada: I have my wife and kid in Canada, but I have no economic or financial situation that would compel me to remain in Canada. My source of income from employment is from [state full name of company and where it is located ] located in Nigeria, which requires physical presence based on my position and responsibilities to oversee these critical functions in the office. For full transparency, Proof of employment, HR reference letter, and Current payslip, C of O (if any landed property or buildings) is uploaded on XXXX section of the IRCC portal for your review. IRCC Invitation letter Guide: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/letter-invitation.html Finally, you can conclude your letter of explanation with wording like the following: I understand I must abide by Canada's rules and regulations for my XX-week stay. I confirm that I am in good health and would not be a burden to the Government of Canada. I also confirm that all information and declarations in my application are accurate. I do not have any criminal records or immigration-related convictions. I declare that all questions have been answered truthfully and honestly in good faith. Sign the letter with your name; your wife should also sign hers. Make your explanation letter polite and diplomatic, but factual. You can have a trusted friend or professional review the letter with you repeatedly before you upload it to submit. I hope you are favoured in your next attempt. |
mhoreh:Address it to: The Consular General, Deputy High Commission of Canada, 4, Anifowoshe Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. All the best. |
mhoreh:The TCC should be enough for tax records and only reveal the tax remitted for prior years. That of the current year won't be reflected until annual returns are filed in 2026 and the tax authorities update the employees' records based on their individual Tax Payer IDs. You don't need to worry about current-year tax as your payslip shows you are still employed, and your salary still passes the standard payroll system. The same applies in Canada, as annual returns are filed with CRA based on tax deducted from employees and remitted by the employer in the prior year. TCC is not a mandatory document, as Hayatou 27 has mentioned, but there is no harm in adding it if, in your judgment, it strengthens your home ties. |
Judawoo:Ok, All the best! |
Judawoo:If the balance was $35K as of the submission date, you can't declare the same amount as being available for the trip, as the officer won't expect your brother to empty his account on a vacation trip. E,g a fraction of that or less should be more than sufficient for a two-week trip. $10,000, for example, should be adequate. You also mentioned that more money was added. Was this an inflow from normal salary payment, or were funds moved from a separate account? A lump sum can be an issue for them if not adequately explained, but if these came through regular income earned from employment, then it is fine. My little experience with these guys is that they are not moved by bogus cash, but the application has to be packaged convincingly. As a Togolese on a Nigerian work permit, I hope he is not close to his expiry date and has been working in Nigeria for a good period of time to demonstrate his establishment there. Your brother has a good job and profile. The application needs to be reviewed again with a well-explained letter. He has good chances; some homework needs to be done. If you patiently take your time to look at it again, I am sure you will see some things to improve. All the best! |
Judawoo:Quick question: What was the account balance on the date of application submission? Was it $35KCAD How much was declared in the application to be set aside for the trip? Regarding concerns about the purpose of the visit, did you submit a well-explained letter with a clear purpose (Itinerary) of what your brother intends to do in the intended province? Places he plans to visit and explain why he is embarking on this trip now. Something like that. I think the officer was not convinced about something. You guys would need to take your time to analyse and review what was submitted. I know it involves a lot of thought process. |
Judawoo:Scan through the first five pages; you should see the reviewing officer's notes. Then, keep scrolling down bit by bit before getting to the last pages; the Senior immigration officer's notes should be there. You need to take the time to look at the pages one by one. At least two people review a visa application: the officer in charge of the file and the Senior immigration officer. |
GbengaBigBoy:What about the document you presented for biometrics ("Biometrics Collection Letter" ? It should have your UCI and application letter. |
Teslas:From what I read, the officer has issues with hometies. I know it is annoying to deny a very elderly woman, but the way they see elderly people is different from our own perspective in Africa. For instance, so many people in Western countries are still working even in their 70s, but in Nigeria, the person is expected to have retired. Don't be surprised; the officer could view Mama as someone who wants to come and work because of concerns about home Ties. This would have resulted in the comments about having more ties to Canada due to the insufficient ties back to Nigeria. I think you did everything right, but just that little area would need to be figured out. Think of something that she has in terms of property, close family that could compel her to return to Nigeria to meet this person, i.e, daughter, husband, grandchild etc) make it emotional. In her next application, let her apply alone. But don't apply too soon; give it time before applying again. Looks like Canadian immigration is getting very strict, but that's an area to think of. |
House34:Spot on! |
Queenfunlola:You can approach it from the angle of not just attaching documents but making it believable. In response to your question. Support document(s)- Proof of Landed Property: 1. Take a picture of the property (Paste into a Word document and fit into one page). Let this be on the first page. 2. Certificate of Ownership (C of O) - Second Page 3. Copy of the most recent utility bill paid (e.g Nepa Bill) - Third page Support document(s) - Proof of Business: 1. Certificate of Incorporation - (Check CAC website to be sure your business is currently on active status). 2. Evidence of the most recent tax returns filed for the business 3. Copy of CAC 2 &7 documents with your name listed as director or owner to demonstrate your controlling stake in the business. You can attach other support documents you think make sense. I listed the basic key ones you can work with. Organise your documents to be simple and easy for the officer to follow. |
Hello and thanks . The situation is ; Applied before current permit expiration. So implied status is automatic and you only have to keep doing what doing and wait ? [quote author=Juz1dan post=136565234]If you submitted an application for an extension of your work permit before the current one expires, you would need to wait for a decision from IRCC. You should be able to continue working till the decision is made. Since you are in Canada, you can call the IRCC customer centre for clarification. |
Juz1dan:You can apply for a visitor visa for more time to sort yourself out. It would have been better to do the application before being out of status, but you can try. That's the option available for now. But if you have an application for renewal still in process and the current one has expired, you should be on implied status until the decision is made. |
Flawlesso209:It depends on the province you are going to in Canada and what you want to do there. Presently, hotels in Canada are not cheap. If you have 6 million naira to set aside, that's roughly $5k, which looks okay for 10 days, but it depends on what you want to do and the province in Canada. If your last travel was 5 years ago, that's a good sign; it gives the vibe that you are a busy person in your home country and not a frequent traveller. |
zainjok567:. When applying for a tourist visa, the officer would analyse your ties to Canada vis-à-vis Nigeria. This does not mean you can't get approved if you apply for a tourist visa; you would need to do your due diligence to prove you are coming back and have strong ties to Nigeria because of your ties to Canada (your immediate family being permanent residents). If you can be patient, wait for your wife and kids to settle in Canada, get a job and start earning a salary, then you can apply for a visit visa for the purpose of family reunion. |
Dramadiddy:Yes, you still have to register to create your access. |
darasire1028:Approval depends on the visa officer; no one can give 100% guarantee. You need to prove the purpose of the trip makes sense (i.e it is in line with your field or your job and the conference is fully paid ), but note this approach is time-bound. If your application is still under processing and the conference date has passed, visa approval is 50/50, as the visa officer may not see the need to issue the visa, since the purpose of the trip has elapsed. Why don't you go for a regular visit visa for tourism and work towards a strong application proving your home ties to Nigeria. |
daddychula22:Google GCMS notes, and you will see different third-party vendors. When you view each, it would show details on cost. You can then use any of your choice. Just be patient to read their instructions, as they will likely require you to sign with a blue pen. |
daddychula22:Diplomatically, try to find out from the agent platform that he used to apply for you. If this were done on the "IRCC portal", there is a section summarising what was declared in that application. You would need that download to give you a summary of what the agent did. But if the application was done on "GC Key," that will not have the information, and you may just need to rely on your gut and information in the GCMS notes. 2. You may try suggestions from other guys on "Application Status Tracker." Still, you might have an issue registering on the tracker if the email attached to the application is not yours but that of your agent, but you can attempt to see. 3. When you presented for biometrics at VFS, you would have used a "biometrics instruction letter" from IRCC. Do you still have that document? It would have your UCI and application number on it. Once you have that information, try to order your GCMS. GCMS notes will reveal the truth. |
daddychula22:2023 is a long time. A decision might have been made, or the person is not proactive in handling your application. You would need to insist on ordering your GCMS notes to know what is happening in your application. Another approach would be to submit a webform, but I guess the agent used his email to apply on your behalf, as IRCC would only respond to the email address submitted with the application. If you know your UCI and application number, you could try ordering your GCMS notes online. |
atm0147:Here are my thoughts: • Review the information the agent submitted on your behalf in the initial application. This would help you fully appreciate the loopholes in what the agent declared on your behalf and convince the visa officer that your situation has changed and improved. • Regarding Proof of funds, a Salary account is a better document to submit. This would demonstrate that you are fully working and receiving compensation and benefits. The question to satisfy yourself is whether you have built enough savings reflected in your account balance for the trip. Note that the visa officer would access funds available for your stay. Analyse total cost for duration of stay in Canadian dollars. Then convert to naira and see if your savings adequately cover these costs. • Try to get a reference letter from your company's HR department proving you are a current and employed staff member. Most big companies have a template for embassy purposes. Attach your payslip from the last 3 to 6 months (including the most recent salary) and any proof of leave approval, which should help with home ties. • Business accounts and copies of incorporation documents can be used more for home ties to show you have a life in Nigeria and a functioning business aside from your 8-5 job. The VO would use his discretion if they should access you more favourably on Proof of funds. • Avoid moving funds too much, as that may trigger the officer. Instead, allow the accounts to grow naturally, but build your savings and let that stay in the Salary account. • Regarding the purpose of your visit, YouTube is your friend. People drop lots of content. Search for tourist sites in your intended province and use that to your advantage. • Give some time before you apply again. I advise you to plan the UK trip for now since you have the visa and leave on time to return to Nigeria. That would build your integrity with immigration regarding travel history and may speak well for you in the background when these countries share information. • Finally, it's not compulsory, but I would suggest a one—or two-page letter introducing yourself to the officer and explaining how your situation has changed and improved since you won't be there to defend yourself. This document summarises your application and states where the officer can find specific documents. Make it easy for them to review. Convince yourself that the application is well-explained and nothing seems confusing before you click the "Submit Application button." All the best. |
ignis:It is not stated on IRCC website that you must submit an SOP for visit visa but you can still be approved without it but wont hurt to include one. It helps to throw light on your application since you wont be there to defend yourself when the officer is reviewing your application. For instance, two of the requiremenrts on IRCC website states: * convince an immigration officer that you have ties—such as a job, home, financial assets or family—that will take you back to your home country *convince an immigration officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your visit How do you convince if there is no document that can speak for you in your absence. Hope this helps you take a decision. |
Thankful11011:Yes, it is possible ( must be through webform) but there is a probability it might delay further the application also at the descretion of the officer if he/she wants to accept it but it does not harm the application. |
Sinecera89:Congratulations, monitor the progress on this link https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx by (filling your details) till your visa status is updated to "Issued" Once issued, go to OIS site, login and schedule appointment. it would first take you to a page to validate your passport. link here https://apt.oisservices.com/pickup-service/pick. Once you enter your passport number, it would indicate if your passport has been delivered to OIS for pick-up. Once the system indicate it is avalable for pick-up, you would need to schedule appointment then go pick up your passport. |
MimieeCK:If the system prompt you on OIS website that "Your passport is ready for pick-up" i think you should go for it but dont forget to schedule an appointment. |
Drebal:1. While it is still fresh, you can ask them how they answered the interview questions. I think the problem is from how they answered the questions. I guess the VO was not convinced with some response. 2. Confirm if thier response was consistent with the DS160 application filled. Sorry about that,i know it is painful. |
Ikebabay:Yes, he paid 31 dollars, the equivalent in Naira. I forgot to mention that sorry. That is becuase he was able to schedule appointment online without paying but if you pay online while scheduling an appointment, i dont see them asking you to repeat the payment again. |

? It should have your UCI and application letter.
