Please Ola I was trying to round up my Canada VV application and I noticed at the time of submitting the application there is no where they ask me to upload my Fund/acct statement .Just my data and US visa .Then the second part where there is employment letter , when I click at the Icon it only requested for an employment letter from a company that want to hire me from Canada which I don't understand and another space where they asked me to upload my consent personal information. Am confused, I attached the page here for you to see and advise.
I was searching where to upload document like Hotel accommodation, flight reservation, bank statement etc. but could not see such page kindly advise .Thanks

You can use any which you are comfortable with. More importantly is how you are able to present your situation and travel intent in clear and convincing manner to the visa officer.

The current processing time is 30 days if you are applying from Nigeria but those processing times are always an estimate and subject to change on weekly basis. The best is to distract your mind with other stuff. Since you did your biometrics October 7, you are still within standard processing times.

Applications to IRCC requires lots of patience or else you will see yourself having too much anxiety.

As a follow-up, I just did a test run/dummy application, and I think I see where you need clarification:

A. It depends on what you select as to "why you need the visa" E.g if you select "To visit Canada as a tourist" the system would most likely not ask you where you would stay.

B. However, if you select visiting a family or friend who is a citizen, permanent resident, or temporary worker, you will be prompted for the address of that person, which will be where you intend to stay.

If there is any information you think would help your application which has not been mentioned, I would encourage you to state those facts in an official letter addressed to the Deputy High Commission of Canada.

Hope this clarifies the confusion.

There is no question specifically about "hotel address," but you would most likely see a question asking you to state the address where you would be staying. Why are you so peculiar about it? From your screenshot, you are just on the starting page. You still have lots of questions to answer. Go through the process of filling in all responses, and you should see the specific question for the address you are looking for.

NB: RICC means something different. I think you meant "IRCC"

CAN+, as I understand it, is a program that offers expedited processing to applicants who have previously travelled to Canada in the last 10years and complied with visa conditions or who hold a valid US visa at the time of Canadian visitor visa application. I am not aware of a distinct portal for CAN+, but once you file your application on the IRCC portal, there is a questionnaire that would ask "if you hold a valid non-immigrant USA visa", which would require a "Yes" response since you possess that. This would be part of the required documents for you to upload to the IRCC system portal.

With that, your application will be visible to the processing officer of your US Visa status.

I decided to go for reconsideration request, I wrote a comprehensive letter and pointed out where I think they where an oversight because the reason for refusal especially about funds where wrong because I had more than enough and showed many proof.
Anyway here is the reply I got from the Canadian embassy,

I don't think it's a good idea to share your IRCC login details with the wider public. You are putting your privacy at risk. I hope you don't use this same password for other platforms and banking transactions.

The focus should not be on uploading too many documents but on the key ones that, in your judgment, explain your situation.

GC Key or IRCC Portal are equally good; they would highlight the documents you must upload after filling in your responses on the application portal based on your profile history and background. I like the IRCC Portal more because it is more seamless than the GC key, where you must fill out certain IMM forms.

If you think there is an additional document you need to upload to the ones required by the IRCC system, select the critical ones to be uploaded in the "Additional Document or Client" section.

She can't do 6 months anymore, as the validity expires in just 3 months. She has to plan to travel ahead of that expiry date, and she won't be allowed to board the flight on or after the expiry date.

One of the Biggest Govt. hospital sent me invitation Letter , including doctors telling them I'm needed to be present due to the complexity of the Surgery.
Yet I was refused Visa and reason which I attached. Financial reasons.
I earn over 18 million Naira monthly in Salary and commission
I attached my pay stubs and also letter from the Company which I'm the Executive director.
I support my Wife and child, I send over 5 million naira to them for Rent and upkeep
I have a 2 years old child who is a Canadian citizen.
My first refusal was I did not attach a marriage Certificate..
Reapplying, I attached it with various evidence of marriage.
Now, there excuse is I do not have access to my own funds I was shocked
I didn't just have money stuck up, I perform and run the account so well.
I attached bank statement of my wife with over $55,000 and my own Balance which is super over my wife Balance. But instead they said over $100k is insufficient for a 3 weeks visit?
I'm worried my wife has no one to stay with her during this surgery, in fact the Canadian Govt. has spent over $1million on her health.
I am forced to believe these guys do not really pay attention to Visit Visa Application.
These guys has no human feeling even for genuine family, I have not seen my daughter ever she was born, her mom which is my wife is going in for one of the most complex surgery you can ever think of..

Please I need an advice on what next to do. Her surgery date is in less than a month and I need to be there ..
Do I reapply?
If I do what other document should I add, I added almost every financial document you can think of in the earlier application.

I would have suggested a "Letter of Reconsideration", but since this has no timeframe and it is unclear if the officer would consider re-opening the file, the best approach would be to reapply, but let your next application show more details explaining each of the officers' concerns under subheadings. Plan to include a detailed letter of explanation to be uploaded to the "Additional Document section"

Summarised thoughts below that come to mind:

1. Commence the letter with an introductory paragraph introducing yourself, your position, what you do, your position as of the date you joined the company and your present role. (This would make sense, especially if you rose through the ranks in your present employment). In this same paragraph, state your intention to travel is to support your wife emotionally, who is scheduled to go through a medical surgical operation on [state the date] and include the date you intend to arrive in Canada and the planned exit date. Refer the officer to the supporting documents and the section where this is uploaded on the portal.

NB: Supporting documentation would be a letter of invitation from your wife (let her make it emotional), a letter of invitation from the hospital, as you have stated, an HR confirmation of employment, or a letter of leave approval from management or your line manager ( the letter should state the duration of leave and these dates should reconcile with the planned entry and exit date you declare on IRCC portal)

Let the subsequent paragraph commence with wording like, I hereby refer to your IRCC official refusal notes dated XX XX XX uploaded on my IRCC Portal account. I want to address each of these concerns honestly and truthfully for your ease of review:

1. The purpose of your visit to Canada is not Consistent with a Temporary stay: Re-affirm your planned entry and exit date and the need to return to your job on XX XX XX as declared in your application portal and consistent with supporting leave of approval, being your source of income. Additional points may be the need to travel back with your wife and kid against your planned exit date in case of the need for further care.

2. Your Current employment situation does not show that you are financially established in your country of residence. Politely state what you earn annually and break it down monthly ( for each amount in Naira, also state the equivalent in CAD). Refer the officer to the attached salary bank statement and recent copies of the payroll slip, Promotion Letters if applicable. You can also obtain a bank reference letter and my bank statement certificate. In this section, state the amount you have set aside, leaving an extra buffer in cash in case of unforeseen contingencies. The amount indicated as being set aside should tally with what you fill out on the IRCC Portal questionnaire. Don't forget to always refer them to where the supporting document is uploaded.

3. Your Assets and Financial Situation do not show you are financially established: Refer them to the section above and re-state where they can find these supporting documents. If you have any property in your name. Attach it as well.

4. You have significant Family Ties in Canada: I have my wife and kid in Canada, but I have no economic or financial situation that would compel me to remain in Canada. My source of income from employment is from [state full name of company and where it is located ] located in Nigeria, which requires physical presence based on my position and responsibilities to oversee these critical functions in the office. For full transparency, Proof of employment, HR reference letter, and Current payslip, C of O (if any landed property or buildings) is uploaded on XXXX section of the IRCC portal for your review.

I declare that all questions have been answered truthfully and honestly in good faith.

Sign the letter with your name; your wife should also sign hers. Make your explanation letter polite and diplomatic, but factual.

You can have a trusted friend or professional review the letter with you repeatedly before you upload it to submit.

The TCC should be enough for tax records and only reveal the tax remitted for prior years. That of the current year won't be reflected until annual returns are filed in 2026 and the tax authorities update the employees' records based on their individual Tax Payer IDs.

You don't need to worry about current-year tax as your payslip shows you are still employed, and your salary still passes the standard payroll system. The same applies in Canada, as annual returns are filed with CRA based on tax deducted from employees and remitted by the employer in the prior year.

TCC is not a mandatory document, as Hayatou 27 has mentioned, but there is no harm in adding it if, in your judgment, it strengthens your home ties.

Tourist pass bought with tiquet and TripAdvisor for Montreal, hotel book, fly ticket travel insurance, itinerary letter day by day, employment letter, introduction letter , salary increase from 7500usd to 9500usd certificate, leave employment, work certificate, seaman book, 3 others Schengen visa, seaman certificate, credit visa gold card picture, marriage certificate, old Schengen visit pictures and offshore pictures, work ID card, offshore telex copy , payslips , travel insurance for whole world for 1 months, 3 month bank statement, Europe trip boarding pass, Nigeria resident permit because he is Togolese, seaman certificate, funny the denied visa choke and choke for insufficient found! Till now there is the money in the account more than 35k

If the balance was $35K as of the submission date, you can't declare the same amount as being available for the trip, as the officer won't expect your brother to empty his account on a vacation trip. E,g a fraction of that or less should be more than sufficient for a two-week trip. $10,000, for example, should be adequate.

You also mentioned that more money was added. Was this an inflow from normal salary payment, or were funds moved from a separate account? A lump sum can be an issue for them if not adequately explained, but if these came through regular income earned from employment, then it is fine. My little experience with these guys is that they are not moved by bogus cash, but the application has to be packaged convincingly.

As a Togolese on a Nigerian work permit, I hope he is not close to his expiry date and has been working in Nigeria for a good period of time to demonstrate his establishment there.

Your brother has a good job and profile. The application needs to be reviewed again with a well-explained letter. He has good chances; some homework needs to be done. If you patiently take your time to look at it again, I am sure you will see some things to improve.

What was the account balance on the date of application submission? Was it $35KCAD

How much was declared in the application to be set aside for the trip?

Regarding concerns about the purpose of the visit, did you submit a well-explained letter with a clear purpose (Itinerary) of what your brother intends to do in the intended province? Places he plans to visit and explain why he is embarking on this trip now. Something like that.

I think the officer was not convinced about something. You guys would need to take your time to analyse and review what was submitted. I know it involves a lot of thought process.

Scan through the first five pages; you should see the reviewing officer's notes. Then, keep scrolling down bit by bit before getting to the last pages; the Senior immigration officer's notes should be there. You need to take the time to look at the pages one by one.

At least two people review a visa application: the officer in charge of the file and the Senior immigration officer.

Letter of invitation from her daughter and all her documentation.

She submitted all the documents to support her application: All Educational certificates, ND, HND, BSC, and other professional certificates, All her employment certificates, offer letter, leave letters, promotion letters, introduction letter, , company ID Cards, Company Business Cards, letter of invitation from her sister and all her documentation. Letter of Explanation. Office- and work-related pictures.

She submitted her registered business too, tax of the business, and the CAC document too. Business ID Cards, Business cards for customer, invoices and all documents with pictures.

She submitted 3 properties and her ongoing warehouse constructions to expand her business and all payment-related information from the properties and highlighted them with a marker in her statement of account.

She submitted a bank statement of over 35 million with proven and clean records with payslips, money from properties, and income from her business. Her salary is 1.5m, and it comes with bonuses at times payable into her account.

She submitted her marriage certificates, birth certificate affidavits, letter of support and consent from the husband, Family Pictures with her immediate family and family pictures with her sister and her mom.

She submitted police report, document report, community letter from the leader, birth certificates showing both her own and her sister, she submitted conversation between her and her sister.

She has travel to Benin x 2, Ghana x 2, Togo and Gabon. She has refusal from UK and she declared it and explained the reason. she didnt apply to UK again as the reason she wanted to travel has past and there is not need for re-aplying when they didnt give her.

I would appreciate any guidance on how to navigate this. They are not planning to relocate and just want to visit. Thanks

From what I read, the officer has issues with hometies. I know it is annoying to deny a very elderly woman, but the way they see elderly people is different from our own perspective in Africa. For instance, so many people in Western countries are still working even in their 70s, but in Nigeria, the person is expected to have retired. Don't be surprised; the officer could view Mama as someone who wants to come and work because of concerns about home Ties.

This would have resulted in the comments about having more ties to Canada due to the insufficient ties back to Nigeria. I think you did everything right, but just that little area would need to be figured out. Think of something that she has in terms of property, close family that could compel her to return to Nigeria to meet this person, i.e, daughter, husband, grandchild etc) make it emotional. In her next application, let her apply alone. But don't apply too soon; give it time before applying again. Looks like Canadian immigration is getting very strict, but that's an area to think of.

If your family reapplies for a visitor visa now, they will most likely face another refusal again and again. A better strategy is to first secure your PGWP and then obtain a skilled job under TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3. Once you are employed in such a role, your family can apply for a SOWP tied to your valid PGWP. This is important because SOWP applications made while you are a student are treated differently than when you are a graduate working on a PGWP which has greater chance when u working as pgwp holder

To make their application stronger, you should provide proof of your employment, such as:

An official employment letter confirming your position, salary, start date, and full-time status.

At least three recent pay stubs.

A copy of your job offer or contract

You can approach it from the angle of not just attaching documents but making it believable. In response to your question.

Support document(s)- Proof of Landed Property:

1. Take a picture of the property (Paste into a Word document and fit into one page). Let this be on the first page.
2. Certificate of Ownership (C of O) - Second Page
3. Copy of the most recent utility bill paid (e.g Nepa Bill) - Third page

Support document(s) - Proof of Business:
1. Certificate of Incorporation - (Check CAC website to be sure your business is currently on active status).
2. Evidence of the most recent tax returns filed for the business
3. Copy of CAC 2 &7 documents with your name listed as director or owner to demonstrate your controlling stake in the business.

You can attach other support documents you think make sense. I listed the basic key ones you can work with. Organise your documents to be simple and easy for the officer to follow.

You can apply for a visitor visa for more time to sort yourself out. It would have been better to do the application before being out of status, but you can try. That's the option available for now.

But if you have an application for renewal still in process and the current one has expired, you should be on implied status until the decision is made.

It depends on the province you are going to in Canada and what you want to do there. Presently, hotels in Canada are not cheap. If you have 6 million naira to set aside, that's roughly $5k, which looks okay for 10 days, but it depends on what you want to do and the province in Canada. When applying for a tourist visa, the officer would analyse your ties to Canada vis-à-vis Nigeria. This does not mean you can't get approved if you apply for a tourist visa; you would need to do your due diligence to prove you are coming back and have strong ties to Nigeria because of your ties to Canada (your immediate family being permanent residents).

If you can be patient, wait for your wife and kids to settle in Canada, get a job and start earning a salary, then you can apply for a visit visa for the purpose of family reunion.

Approval depends on the visa officer; no one can give 100% guarantee. You need to prove the purpose of the trip makes sense (i.e it is in line with your field or your job and the conference is fully paid ), but note this approach is time-bound. If your application is still under processing and the conference date has passed, visa approval is 50/50, as the visa officer may not see the need to issue the visa, since the purpose of the trip has elapsed. Why don't you go for a regular visit visa for tourism and work towards a strong application proving your home ties to Nigeria.
