Godsfahvour:The process of applying for visit visa is pretty the same. You just need to justify in your application that you meet the requirements for a visit visa by addressing all eligibility criteria. It is more convincing when you apply from Nigeria except you have a solid tie to the foreign country you are applying from like a regular job that would compel you to leave Canada to resume back to work and you are in that country legally. This is not to discourage you and does not mean you cannot apply from the United States, but you would have to make sure your application looks convincing to the visa officer since you are on a temporary resident visa and the officer expect you should be studying to avoid refusal based on immigration status. This guy on Youtube link below explains the process very well. You can follow him and see how he does it. Though, he is explaining for parents, you can personalize those aspects to yourself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1om1dwp_Vs&t=73s Use the New Portal: All the best. |
srke2022:It depends on your travel plans. If your travel plan is to travel soon later in the year, then you can’t apply for a new visa since you already have one still running. You can exercise some patience towards December/January and plan towards a travel date post expiry date of your visa. You can plan towards applying when the visa is almost expired for a renewal with that of your son. Alternatively, apply for that of your son now but you never can tell when decision would be made and yours might be too close to expiry at that time. |
Kenny4real68:1. Study the page on this link for more information. You would also see a link to show list of documents to present. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/eligibility.html 2. Use the New IRCC Portal to apply. |
srke2022:It is better you apply for a renewal of your passport before applying for your visa since the expiry is around 4 months away just for your peace of mind. Then apply with the new passport. Which should cover a reasonable length just in case the officer wants to grant 6months duration or more.. |
perfectbecky:There is no need to be worried. You cannot be too sure your application is not receiving any attention. A lot goes on at the background that we are not privy to. I would advise you try to distract your mind with other stuff till they get back to you. All the best. |
Ajoke08:That means when you & your hubby was filing the application, he had indicated that he has done biometrics before but IRCC is unable to link him with his previous application which was paper based. That means your unique client identifier on your husband current application is not same as in the previous one. You can confirm from the refusal letter. Also, check to be sure his biometric number is still blank at the top right hand corner of the portal. Confirm all these details if my understanding is correct? |
JosephYemsol:Yes, I agree, those checks are random selection. Mostly, bags would have already been screened at the point of dismemberment from the plane even before you see your luggage at baggage claim. I guess you are lucky your meat was not detected. |
Letuspraytogod:Very dicey! It would help if you had a convincing explanation why you cannot produce the updated statement from the same bank declared in your application. Remember, you would have justified the nature of the bank statement submitted. The relationship between you and your sponsor and the source of money credited to the bank account would have been documented. Producing another statement would have you explain further the nature of the statement and why you are not submitting the one previously declared. IRCC always circularize the internal control/ fraud unit of the respective banks to confirm the authenticity of the bank statement. They would be expecting the same bank statement but an updated one. It is better to limit withdrawals or better not touch the account till a decision is made |
Ovywils:I know some guys that brought Indomie without issues but not sure if this was Chicken, You can reserve that space for other food items like Ogbono and the likes that are pricey in African stores. You will get indomie cheap in African stores. I buy a carton for 20 dollars. |
perfectbecky:Sure, you can but might delay in responding to you due to my other schedules but will surely respond if you are not in a hurry. |
srke2022:There have been many delays lately on temporary resident applications, which I think is general and may not necessarily apply to your son's file. Apart from the backlogs, the immigration authorities are trying to clear up; there has been recent news from the office of the immigration minister prioritizing last-minute decisions on students resuming for September intake. Let us hope we start seeing some responses on visit visas and other temporary resident applications soon post-school resumption. Since you already have two same applications running on GC key, I think you should hold on and see what happens in the coming weeks, most especially when school has fully resumed. Creating a third might delay your application further as the officers now have to consider information declared in the three applications. Except you want to cancel the second submission and re-apply on the new portal but bear in mind that possible implication would be that your application would be reviewed all over again if you decide to re-apply. This won't affect the decision on your child's application as long as you meet all their eligibility checks for a temporary resident visa. Once a decision is made on one of your applications, probably the first submission, the other will automatically be cancelled. |
perfectbecky:Your best bet is to order your GCMS notes to know what Is going on. If your biometric number and date are reflected at the top left corner of your portal, there is nothing to worry about. That means immigration has received your biometric data. The narration you are seeing at the lower part would change to “biometrics completed” once IRCC is done with their review of your biometrics. For some applicants, it comes early, while for others, it comes later in the application process. I think you should plan to do upfront medical to fasten your application process except you feel you have enough time and want to explore waiting for medical request from IRCC. |
Letuspraytogod:You can ask on Canada Student thread. Someone may have an idea of possible options. |
Letuspraytogod:Immigrations works with documentations. So, you would need to wait for the new admission letter to arrive before informing them. |
Letuspraytogod:tempzi is right. Go ahead and do as your as faculty as instructed as long as you are able to still secure your seat in the programme. Once you get your updated admission letter. Write a formal letter informing IRCC of the updated admission letter which you have secured due to the continuous delay on your application. Attach the new admission letter and send both via webforms and e-mails. |
Babalakin:I don't know what the agent means by "migration to Canada". I think you can handle this on your own if you are patient to study the thread related to the visa category you want to apply for. One million naira in present-day Nigeria is not a joke, and that's a lot.' No immigration lawyer has influence over decision-making at IRCC. My advice would be to study the respective thread for your intended visa category and do your research; then, you can ask gurus specific questions you are unclear about in those threads. I believe applications are handled better and more thoroughly when you do them yourself. I dont rule out that there are some good Canadian immigrations lawyers who are very knowledgeable on immigration matters.but those guys charge a lot of money for an application one can do personally. My advice would be you will save that one million if you are patient in learning this yourself. I hope you are able to make a decision that works best for you. |
Letuspraytogod:You will need to discuss with your faculty on deadline for deferral if this is too close. I would advise you to defer so you don't loose your seat in the programme, but better have these discussions with them. 11 months is a long time. I can imagine the anxiety. I think you should start sending continuous reminders to IRCC on the status of your application. Once the clinic confirms your medical exam has been sent, you need to follow up with IRCC with the medical slip, but IRCC always does their medical assessment before updating to pass on the portal. |
MUNCHY1:You can order your GCMS notes and send them reminders. Let your mail appeal to their emotion. IRCC takes their time but hopefully, yours does not take too long. |
gracedunmininu2:1. Is this on the new or old portal? 2. Apply for your GCMS notes to see if there is any form of movement or progress on your file. |
chekz169:I am so sorry for the delay in responding to your questions. I see you asked a question if you should withdraw your application. I have been soo busy lately, so not regular on Nairaland. Once again, I am sorry about the outcome of your application. I can't see any fault in what you submitted except if we speak one-on-one so I can understand your profile better. However, don't allow this to bother you. It does not affect your chances of visiting other first-world countries. Just make sure you declare this refusal and put a comment in a way that shows you are a genuine visitor. My advice is to leave Canada for now and focus on travelling to other countries until you feel you are eligible to visit again, maybe in your next annual leave and then let me know. I can review your application with you, hopefully, I am not soo busy. You can order your GCMS notes now if you want but not a priority since you are not re-applying so soon. Just take your mind off it. Hopefully, you get it next time. |
aestake:I am not sure I understand you but no worries. |
aestake:I understand. I was writing about getting a place. Sure, you can book Airbnb from anywhere. Not many people coming to Canada know so much about how it works here, and it is just humane to communicate nicely with people. I don’t think asking the POF question was necessary to me, but hopefully, the moniker can sort out the accommodation issue |
Oreoluwamipo:It is not that easy to get a place from outside Canada. You can book an Airbnb, as oluayebenz stated and start your aggressive search, and Kijiji and Facebook marketplace is your plug. Just look for one affordable Airbnb within your budget, at least to have a roof over your head, then search from there. It gives you opportunity to inspect what you would renting. Rents are paid first of every month and most rents kickstart first of the month. Plan your schedule to checkout of your Airbnb at the end of a month. All the best with your search. |
Teemie22:Proof of funds depends on which province your hubby intends to visit and what he would be doing during his period of stay. Suppose he plans to see someone who would be hosting him, thereby sorting the accommodation and some aspects of his feeding. That would reduce the burden on the amount he would declare viz-a-viz; if he is going to be a solo traveler, he would need to show more. As you have stated, having a budget of $4,000 and declaring a bank statement with a closing balance of equivalent to 10,000 dollars is a good strategy, and it would show he has enough buffer just in case of emergencies. I would say you guys should pay attention to the visit section of the budget 1,800 dollars/21days (averaging 86 dollars per day) might be too small in the eyes of the VO for three weeks. You guys can plan to have more cash for that aspect; again, it depends on the province and the purpose of the visit. Also, avoid lumpsum deposits in the bank statement you would submit. If there is a lump sum deposit, address it in your letter of intent to the VO with documentary proof. I hope this helps! |
Stevwonders:Its my pleasure always! You can send to any VFS all the over the world. The best approach would just be to contact them first to find out about their requirement. Yes, I agree since you are spending less than two weeks in USA so you don't get stocked. |
Stevwonders:Big Congrats! Yes, you can submit it for stamping in the USA. You can estimate 2weeks to have it stamped and returned to your US address. The requirement and style of submission in the United States is slightly different . You would need to send an e-mail to: info.canny@vfshelpline.com to advise you on the requirements. VAC (USA) also has a platform where you can chat with an agent online - You would need to consider the time zones as regards their business hours. see link below: https://visa.vfsglobal.com/usa/en/can/book-an-appointment Click on webchat to chat them. NB: Since you would be staying in USA temporarily, plan to send to Los Angeles for a faster response and don't forget to have your biometrics slip handy. Safe trip! |
charli5:1. Members of Parliament (MP) are like our legislators in the House of Assembly; these MPs are elected members of the House of Commons. Each MP has its district or region across the province of Canada. You must contact the MP in the jurisdiction where you intend to study. See the link below. Navigate to the MP in the area you plan to study, i.e. where your school is located.: https://www.ourcommons.ca/Members/en/search 2. You can also start sending follow-up e-mails and webform since your resumption is about two weeks away. I would advise you to liaise with your department for possible deferral or start with online classes. You can plan to travel later when you get your approval in case of further processing delays, so you don’t lose your seat in the programme. 3. . Another option you can explore is to order your GCMS notes. Although, the department that processes the GCMS notes request is different from the visa processing unit. You may be lucky the request might trigger a closer look into your file. 4. Prayer factor cannot be underestimated. All the best! |
Swaggu002015:The wordings on the IRCC refusal letter are general statements as stated in their IRPA Act, and they are just stating the relevant section of the Act that applies to their reason for refusal. You would need to order your GCMS notes to see the specific concerns of the visa officers. I guess the VO was not convinced with your purpose of visit when they read your statement of purpose. The GCMS notes will give you more details, and you would need that to refute the refusal reasons when you are filing your next application in your letter of explanation. The aspect of family ties in Canada can be refuted when addressing home ties |
Solidcitizen:The snow would have been back that period and would be very cold. It would be easier if you had someone in Canada to support you in looking for houses and some little run-around. You might not find it funny because of the cold, which you are not yet used to. If you can wait it out till March/April, the weather would be tolerable by then and not as cold as November to February, but that does not mean you can't travel in December; just giving you an idea of what to expect. Another option would be to come earlier than December when the weather won't yet be intensely cold. |
