Ikebabay:Hi Ikebabay, He did not recieve any pickup mails. I dont think you should wait for pick-up mails. Once you verify on OIS that your passport is available for pick-up, go for it but dont forget to schedule an appointment on IOS site before you go. Hopefully, you dont have to wait for long and they see your passport quickly. It would be in Lagos at OIS since your submission was to Lagos embassy. |
OyoTunjiUSA:Thank you, Oyotunji USA for your valuable response and as further update, he just informed me IOS has later found it among thier records and he has collected it but it was a very rough day for him. |
HI OyoTunjiUSA, What do you think or any gurus in the house? My cousin's visa got "Approved" and later "issued" dated August 26th. He had earlier gone to pick it up but was told the passport is not yet with them (OIS) and he needs to book an appointment. This was later tracked this week on the IOS site and the system gave feedback "Your passport is available for pick-up". The appointment was booked on OIS site but the acknowledged appointment slip indicated the passport is at DHL Office - Muri Okunola Sandiland Arcade Building, Plot 230, Muri Okunola Street,Victoria Island. but on getting to DHL at the appointed time, he was told the passport is at OIS and on getting to OIS at Victoria Island, he was told oh no! it is with DHL. Now, i am told people are gathered at OIS not having a clue were thier passport is? Is anyone having this same challenge? |
Abk2019:YES. |
Jeboy:I remember reading an extensive explanation years back from a moniker. I had to dig it out when i saw your question. You can reference Frankrobbn1 explanation on below link if this helps: https://www.nairaland.com/6321900/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/646 |
Nikkyy1:Hello, 1. I dont think you should rely solely on the countries that forms the five migration partners on whether you should declare a previous refusal. As long as you submitted your fingerprints (biometrics) to the french authorities and also did same for Canada. Anything, can happen. Since your application is now 3 months old,it is likely to have gone to an advanced stage. Hopefully, decision comes without the authorities detecting your record with France like your first Canada application. Please, dont make that mistake in your future applications, all visa refusals should be disclosed. 2. That issue of NIN should not affect your application. All the best! |
Dj4all:Hi, 1. If the XY million is a huge sum, such that a withdrawal will result in the balance being insignificant to the visa officer if an updated statement is requested, then you have to leave the account as it is till your application is finalized. However, perhaps, you are in business and you can explain the source of funds convincingly, then you can withdraw and replace. 2.. Of course you can spend out of your Proof of funds but, since the bank statement is under review, you need to ensure balance there makes sense at all times in case an updated statement is requested. 3. The VO will definately notice the recent "credit inflow" and write you to explain or refuse the application as they may term it "you presented the account for demonstration purpose". It is better not to wait for IRCC letter before returning back the money but if you must withdraw & replace, make sure you have good explanation on source of funds. The explanation must be consistent with what you stated when you submitted the application. Best Wishes! |
Ibrahim8358:Hmm! strange. Try a combination that is lower than 15 characters but more than 8 with an uncommon word meeting the password requiements, something like this: Neptune2020&& If it works, please try to change the password with the same idea. Also, remove your email from the thread. It is a security risk. Try if this works. |
Ibrahim8358:Sample below: Application$9 The above sample is more than 8 but not up to 15 characters. If this does not work. You can create one that equates exactly 15. |
Derende:BVL generally indicates IRCC has made a decision but i guess in this case, they are running some secondary review on your proof of funds best reasons known to them before making the final decision. I think you should wait for them to get back since we know they are on the verge of making a final decision. I understand the anxiety and wish you a positive outcome. |
Ibrahim8358:Their customer care agent in Canada do not interfere with visa applications abroad in this case "Nairobi" or "Lagos". I remember enquiring for my parents years back and got that feedback from them. Send webform and e-mail instead. Alternatively, other for your GCMS notes to understand whats going on in your file. |
moruff77:I dont think you need to submit another bank account to IRCC if the initial submission is okay and transparent. That would further delay and may complicate your application since they did not request for it. Why dont you notify your bank by phone( due to its urgency) and typed letter physically to the branch and have them acknowledged so they can block access to your account immediately. The acknowledged letter will be your evidence that you reported the attempted intrusion should in case IRCC request for an updated statement later and you have moved this funds to your new account but discuss this with your bank. |
princesslade10:Check if your husband portal is reflecting his biometric number,if yes then it has been recieved by IRCC and probably still under review. But, if not, you can send webform attaching the tiny slip that was given to him to keep for his records. |
sanyaolurilwan:There are two alternative options: Option 1. Have someone legally residing in Canada apply on your behalf. The fee is just $5 Canadian dollars. Option 2. Google GCMS Notes and start scrolling. You would see different third party vendors to choose from. Click on it and follow the instructions to apply. You would eventually have to fill a consent form and sign with blue ink. |
Nkaluu800:Have you tracked the application? is it looking good? The best is to distract your mind otherwise you would get soo worried. IRCC are known to take thier time. It would end in praise. |
Singlefile:Not sure where you got what you quoted except you want to re-phrase your question. I dont know of any application that cant be tracked. |
sweetkev:I remember something like that in one of my applications in the past so i dont think it is anything to worry about. The main thing is for visa details to be generated for you on the tracker which gives hope for PPR. Did you review what the agents filled before submission. All the best. |
arcis:Hi, Sorry about this and dont let it ruin your birthday ("have fun" . The next step is to apply for your GCMS notes to see if the VO will be more specific. The truth is the immigration has become very strict with visas due to the high influx of people in the country now so, any little doubt, they tend to refuse.1. What was your destination of visit as declared in your application? 2. How much did you quote as available for your trip? 3. How many days did you declare staying? 4. What was the account balance per bank statement submitted? 5. What is the nature of the bank statement. Is this your salary account? Was there any lumpsum deposit not explained? 6, Did you intend travelling alone (unacocmpanied) as declared in your application or with your family? Happy Birthday!!! |
KiloB:Hello, 1. Make sure your application covers all the eligiblity requirements for a visitors visa. Job/Business, Homeowner/Tenant, Properties,Family & Financial Investment (if any). 2. Since you are working with a tight budget, you can reduce your length of stay but the business account should be funded & active. 3. Some applicant get approved without cover letter/letter of explanation but, i will advice you include a one/two pages letter if you are a first time applicant. This would be an opportunity to introduce yourself ( Who you are, what you do, why you are going to Canada & specific places you intend to visit). Youtube has videos on almost all provinces in Canada and nice places to go which you can tap some points from to your advantage. The letter can be sectionalised into subheadings addressing how you meet each of the eligiblity requirements. 4. Most refusals relates to Purpose of visit, Finance, & Home Ties. Let your application address those areas to convince the VO you are a genuine visitor. 5. Yes, you can submit your business account but make sure you declare the fraction of that account balance you are setting aside for your trip. The ratio of budget Vs account balance should make sense. 6. Finally, in summary explanation of "3" above, Purpose of Trip - This assesses if the applicant is a genuine visitor i.e You are able to declare the specific places you intend to visit. You are also able to identify clearly where you would stay. For instance, the hotel you declare is in good proximity to the places you intend to visit. Finally, those places makes sense in comparing to declared number of days you intend to stay in Canada. It would show you have done your research. Home Ties - This aspect weighs your connection to both country of origin and country of destination. i.e the more ties you have to Canada, the more convincing your ties back to NIgeria need to be. When you have lesser or no ties to Canada and a more stronger ties to Nigeria, it puts you in a better advantage but you still need to demonstrate that in your application. Finance - The more transparent your bank statement, the more peace of mind you have. if you are ready financially, get a stamped bank statement from the bank, have them stamp all the pages and a reference letter. Some bank statement gets soo blurred at the point of submitting the application that may be hard for the VO to read, in this case, you can add a copy of "mybankstatement" and state this in your letter of explanation, The VO would know you are demonstrating transparency. Although, VOs do circularise the internal fruad/control department of the headoffice of these banks for confirmation. 7. Try to avoid typos or errors when answering the questionnaire in your application. Canada immigration are strict on errors, it can be taken as misrepresentation. All the best! |
Kossyfelicia:Hi, Thanks for all the detailed information. I think i already answered some of these questions before but i would still advise you to be patient on Canada and maybe try UK again to correct the previous refusal. You are having increasing refusal history based on this same topic of "Proof of Funds". I am not sure if you are aware USA,UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand share information so at least one or both countries(you had the previous refusal) will reveal to Canada authorities reason for your refusal which might propel the officer to increase scrutiny on your POF support docs. So yes, you need to declare all refusals and state reasons to the best of your ability in your application. Not declaring your refusal will attract Procedural Fairness Letter and a 5 yrs ban if you cant defend your case. In response to "No 1 question", sorry, i wont be able to confirm any amount. As stated earlier, i dont live in Ontario which is your province of destination. Alternatively, as you mentioned, you can check booking, com or expedia for flight fees +hotels in Ontario to give you an estimate. Doordash, Ubereat etc are popular food delivery agents in Canada. Check varieties of food vendors on thier sites and amounts they sell thier meals [You can filter for African food if you want] then do your maths mulplied by number of days to give you an estimate. Finally, dont forget amount available for your stay in Canada should be significantly below your account balance. The question is speaking to budget for your trip. The higher your closing balance in proportion to budget for your trip, the better but cant confirm any amount to you. Since, i dont know your profile and history and wont want to give a misleading statement. I dont know the platform the VO use for exchange rate conversation. You can try Oanda Currency Converter, Exchange Rate Calculator etc Persnally, i would say you retry those countries you had the previous refusals and get Approved then you come try Canada in future with a stronger profile. Refusals from thier two close allies would increase review scrutiny on you. The decision is yours! |
Kossyfelicia:Hello, 1. If you are not yet confortable with proof of funds. I think you should not rush into an application for now. As stated before, proof of funds depends on the province you intend to visit and length of days you intend to stay. As per the bolded in your response, i wont advise you do that. Let money flow into your business account naturally. You can then set aside amount available for your trip into your personal account. I wont be able to advise on amount to set aside being i dont live in Ontario. 2. You would need to do some research or if you have a friend who lives there to give you an estimate (hotel+feeding+places you intend to visit). 3. in additon, the VO dont expect you empty your account on a trip. for instance, you are setting aside $3,000 US dollars for your trip, your account balance should be significantly more than that. This would show you have a life in NIgeria and financially solvent. This is wny i advised you be patient and defer your application if the account is not yet well funded. Canada Visa officers are strict with POF reviews. 4. Your travel history to Togo and Benin Republic wont count much but you can attach it if you have space. Prioritize more important documents first. Cover letter and any other support documents goes to "Client Section". Consent section applies if you are using an agent/representative. 5. Use the Back & forth arrow to move from page to page and click on the section you want to edit. Be patience to look at it well, you would get it. All the best. |
Kossyfelicia:You are most welcome 1. Tax clearance certificate is not a mandatory request by IRCC but we still submit it becuase it demonstrate tax complaince and the person is either truly in business or employment. Yes, you can submit the JTB TC since you dont yet have an updated Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC). 2. Proof of funds available for your stay depends on the province and number of days you intend to stay. I would recommend you work towards using your bank statement. Your sister support should be a smaller portion of the overall budget. So you dont give the assessing visa officer doubt you have issue with finance and may want to work illegally or not return. 3. In addition to "2" above, avoid suspicious lumpsum deposits. You can give yourself time to build your statement in a transparent manner if you feel not yet ready based on your present bank account. It is better late than a refusal which can be painful. 4. Your only business with VFS Lagos would be when the Canadian Immigration invites you to appear for biometrics collection. That always comes when the applicant has submitted the application online and paid the full fees. At that time, you would only need to go with your passport, biometric instruction letter and your biro (thats all). 5. In addition to "4" above, cover letter or any other documents that would help your application would all be done online. 6. Regarding your question if $3,000 dollars is small. Thats roughly $4,000 dollars + in Canada. That should be fine in some Atlantic province but cant speak for all the province like Ontario and Alberta. You can do some sanity check by checking hotels prices in your province of destination. If you have someone in that area, they can give you a ballpark figure, that should help. NB: Overall, when you decide to apply, review and review again! and have someone look at it for you before you click the "submit" button. Cheers! |
Kossyfelicia:Hello Kossyfelicia, Application to Canada for visit/tourism is 100% online (except in cases of disability allowance is given to apply on paper) via the IRCC portal However, the biometrics collection exercise would be done physically (in-person): A. Open the below link and answer the questionnaire, this would lead you to the portal to create your account: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/apply-visitor-visa.html B. Once you create your account and able to login, start answering the questionnaire. Your application starts building up as you answer those questions. You would get to understand it along the way becuase it is seamless. Payment is also done online at the point you want to submit your application. C. Let your application show more ties to your home country such that it is convincing, you will return home. The idea is your ties to your home country should be stronger than that of Canada to convince the officer you will come back. D. The shorter the period of stay declared, the more easier to demonstrate proof of funds. E. Being a business person, you can submit copies of your: 1. Incorporation documents 2. Evidence of last tax returns filed or evidence of tax compliance. F, Finally, think of questions like, who will oversee your business in your absence? , Domestic responsibiites like family, assets, investment that require your presence? Do you hold any key role back home? speak to them. All the best. |

RodgersAkpafu:1. Yes, it is true but may not apply to all applicants. It is based on thier descretion but if it comes out that way, fine. 2. It all depends on the immigration officer in charge of the file. |
freshStarz:1. Look into the route below & you can read it up. If you are able to secure a job with any of thier participating employers, you can apply for a work permit. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/work-canada/permit/temporary/innovation-stream/about.html 2. Work towards applying for Permanent Residents. |
glowrya:. Is your bank on the "mybankstatement" platform? if yes, you can use this medium to send across the one -pager mybankstatement to them. Please, support it with a reference letter from your bank and a re-print stamped bank statement as others suggested. The one pager mybankstatement would help a lot . Then, you can back it up with a cover letter and sign -it. You can reference the web link below on mybankstatement. https://www.visa-mybankstatement.com/ It is a "Procedural Fairness Letter". Let your response to them be easy for them to review and follow. . Above advise is on the assumption the initial statement submitted was genuiene ( without any manipulation from an agent) and you can confirm that. All the best. |
This may be beneficial to those aiming to apply for work permit via LMIA and to be sure the proposed employer is not on the wrong side of the law with the Canadian government hence, avoiding issues in application for work permit. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/work-canada/employers-non-compliant.html Thought, someone may find this useful. Cheers! |
chatmate:Oh, i thought you entered the united states on a visa. I am not really sure based on what you have just explained and would not want to give you a misleading response. You can wait for someone more experienced about this to reply. Thanks. |
chatmate:The little idea i have about this is that there is a "90 day rule". You are not to contact your school within the first 3 months of visit to the USA of your intention to study otherwise USCIS will take it that you had a pre-conceived intent of going to the USA to study and not for visit. After your 90 days stay, you can reach out to your school of interest of your intention to change your status to F1 and apply to the school. An officer in the school should be able to guide you on the required forms to fill, payment to be made and necessary support documents to file your case with USCIS. The implication is that once you file your case with USCIS, you are not to leave the USA until a decision is made. You are also not allowed to resume studies or work, you will just have to wait. Decision from USCIS is what no one has control over. It can come in 3months and could take as much as 6 to 12 months. The process requires a lot of patience and you can research more about it on YouTube so you are well aware of the facts before embarking on it. Let me allow the gurus with more experience about this to give their input. |
OyoTunjiUSA:Sounds good! I appreciate. |
OyoTunjiUSA:Quick question - @OyoTunjiUSA - When changes are made on DS160, thereby filling another DS160 and discarding the old one, does this have an effect on the B1/B2 interview date booked? |
. The next step is to apply for your GCMS notes to see if the VO will be more specific. The truth is the immigration has become very strict with visas due to the high influx of people in the country now so, any little doubt, they tend to refuse.
