Nairaland GeneralRe: Thread For Nairalanders That Have Gone AWOL by olawalebabs(m): 11:05am On Apr 19, 2012
ogbeche77: In recent weeks it has occurred to me that some Nairalanders from various section that I visit often have been conspicuously missing, The likes of Aloy emeka, tby, olawale, Dr Balogun, Mr Cork, just to mention a few.....reason might be because,
1.Some were banned and heard to operate under a new moniker/username, Pls those who belong to this category should identify themselves

2. Some don't visit again, for reason we active members don't know ourselves, as I know this is a faceless forum, but some of us still know one another in real life... For those in this category can u pls post the well being of that nairaland

3. Some have changed from active poster to Waka-pass.... Just use the thread to mark the register..loll
NL is a faceless forum but those not stop us from watching out 4 one another, some members have posted information here which has really changed our life either directly or indirectly, I see Nairalanders has my extended family
P.S....Mod I posted this in the politics section so it could generate lot of views... U can as well consider it for front page
I never go AWOL, neither was I ban. Just doing more of reading than posting.

A football coach who had high blood pressure was at the doctor’s office for a check-up.
“Remember”, the doctor said, “don’t get excited, don’t get mad, and forget about football when you aroff the field”.
“By the way”, he added, “tell me, how come you substituted your hardworking captain last Saturdawith 10 minutes to go and the score tied at 1-1? How could you have done that?”
This Thread has just gone further to prove what we Igbos have been saying about the Yoruba for ages!!

Cowardice should be a synonym for Yoruba in the dictionary
The bible says "Don't reply a fool, for you will all look alike"

PoliticsRe: Nigeria’s Economy Is The Third Fastest Growing In The World by olawalebabs(m): 2:12pm On Apr 12, 2012
Beaf: If a countries economy is the 3rd fastest growing, but the masses do not feel it, then such growth is largely worthless.
We need to diversify our economy as a matter of strict urgency. Nuff said.
Beaf, u dey talk sense here.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria’s Economy Is The Third Fastest Growing In The World by olawalebabs(m): 10:55am On Apr 12, 2012
AjanleKoko: Again you don't get the point. And you are wrong there, manufacturing is not necessarily the engine of economic growth. Especially these days where the likes of India, China, and Malaysia can get things done cheaper. Commerce is the end product of manufacturing, isn't it? Whatever goods produced, are you not going to sell them?
Try to understand my view point. Any economy that believe in only selling and not manufacturing is going no where. The example of countries you mention that are doing well are all manufacturing countries. The problem we face in the downstream sector of the economy where we resort to importing crude oil, is it not because of lack of manufacturing. When you help to sell an imported product. you have succeded in exporting employment and importing unemployment. An you know what will happen when an economy is facing unemployment (coupled with inflation).
PoliticsRe: Nigeria’s Economy Is The Third Fastest Growing In The World by olawalebabs(m): 10:44am On Apr 12, 2012
AjanleKoko: Everybody is just raking here, cos they feel the growth never touch them.
Growth doesn't stop you guys from being poor, guys. It does present an opportunity for you all to make it out of poverty.
When the environment is too stiff how is it possible to turn the growth to development? Have you venture in to new business of recent. (not commerce) real manufaturing. you will understand why people are angry. Mind you, real economy don't strive on commerce but production (manufacturing)
