The Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) is spending the sum of 781 million naira to complete its 8-story head office building in Kaduna which has been abandoned for the past 20 years, the Chief Executive Officer of the Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, Alhaji Is’haq Usman has said. Weekly Trust gathered that the contract for the construction of the ultra-modern office was awarded in 1992 to Sanbath Nigeria Limited at the cost of 80 million naira; the completion period of the projects was 12 months.
Addressing newsmen on the activities of the company, he said the contract for the completion of the 8-story building has been re-awarded by the Federal Ministry of power in a renew efforts to provide a befitting office accommodation to the company. “As you can notice, in recent times, the contractors are on site and indeed working for 24 hours to ensure early completion and handover of the company before the end of this year,’’ he said.

According to him, the completion and commissioning of the office would give the company the conducive working environment and that it would translate to higher productivity and quality service delivery to their customers.
