Disney Are you sure you are not a player? Well if you think he is the one, based on your interaction so far, then kick your man to the curb and take the gamble. But be careful, people are not always everything the presume to be. Is your man lacking something? Why are you even in the market if you claim you have a man? |
Wow The girl knows what she wants. Does it matter if you are Hausa and not muslim? Or are you looking for a muslim? I am just asking! |
@Kimba That is a 94-95 model. I think that would cost between $500-$1000. The down side is that you cannot ship it to Nigeria because it is more than 8yrs old. But you can ship it to Cotonou and try and somehow get it across the border. Nice things about this car is the Gas Mileage, easy to maintain and is very durable. Down sides are Spare parts can be expensive and the car gets stolen a lot for those same parts. Shipping to Cotonou/Lagos will cost about $1400. But you want to look for the 98/99 model Honda Civic and the vehicle will cost you about $3000 plus shipping cost to Lagos. |
Mrlawng Thanks for the compliments, if you notice Zionchic and her sidekick Beyonce only want to use the US for their selfish needs, but refuse to admit that life it better. If it was so bad, then why don't you go home and use your own COUNTRY for your well being. And in the process help your family members and create jobs for others. They are speaking with both sides of their mouths. I am tired of the hypocrisy. @Akolowale My friend i think you are just straight up confused. I am not sure you have a clue about the things you are writing. I said that GBP 3000 for a UK Visa was a Bargain, because people pay more to cross by foot across the Arizona desert.I think people will pay even more than that if you told them too. But in anyway your arguments on this topic makes my head spin. Let us finally say that you stay home, i will call the US my home and life will go on for both of us. |
Yeah i have a passion for cars, i sell them for a living, and i love to test drive them whenever i get a chance. |
Akolowale That is why we cannot come to an understanding with a statement like "House is House". You have got to add Value or else we cannot have an effective debate. If house was house then why is rent different in Oshodi than in Ikoyi? Why is a house in Manchester cheaper than the same size house in London? House is house will not cut it. |
@Akolawale Why is he/she paying so much for a visa? Because he/she can probably make that back even making hair in the UK. Are you saying it is a foolish investment? I actually think it is a bargain, if you can be guaranteed entry and/or some kind of work in the UK. People pay as much as $10,000 to cross from South America thru Mexico into the US and many die in the desert on their way into the US. Do u think they just feel like dashing the "Coyotes" money? They come over in the Millions every year from South America and get deported in the hundred of Thousands every year too. But they know that they will do better here than in their home country. These people come to pick fruits, cut grass, clean bathrooms for minimum wage and manage to send over $20Billion back to Mexico alone each year. I am not sure why you are surprised that people are paying GBP3000 for a visa. That is cheap if you ask me. By the way "Coyotes" are the smugglers that traffic human beings from Mexico into the US. Part of an Organized crime ring. |
What is the value of the homes the own completely. Who is fooling you? |
They are expensive cars, built by Jet engineers. They have a particular appeal to very savvy clients. The cars have a very high safety rating from the Insurance institute. But i see them all over the US. The company was bought by GM. |
@ Topic Take of Poll of How many Nairalander living abroad will go back home today for good, and how many Nairalanders will leave home and go abroad. That should put an end to this topic. Question:How Many Nairalander will leave all the have right now and go back home? How many Nairalanders will forfeit all the have and go abroad? |
Yeah i saw it on the Saab site too. It is a concept car, that is what confused me. Nice ride none the less. Saab as a brand always pushes the envelope. |
Are you sure that is a 2005 Saab Aero X? The Saab Aero sold here in the USA is much different than that. Where did you get the picture from? |
@Eastcoast Other Races Love Hiphop/Rap sometimes more than Blacks. Whites Buy more than 77% of all Hiphop Cd's sold. There is even a Hasidic Jewish Rapper with mad lyrics. There are Arab Rappers,African Rappers and the hip/hop culture is in every part of the Globe. Proof was a good Hype-man for Eminem and an intricate part of D-12. May his soul rest in Peace. |
Oh i see. What states are they in? Do they have any laws or it is just jungle justice. Do they do any investigation? Or it "Catch u stealing and you are dead on the spot". |
Now this is one of those questions that makes you scratch your head. Wow there are many reasons, i have to say too many Tribes and Languages. Too many wars, and fragile governments with very corrupt leaders. Our leaders in Africa, i think are the single cause of underdevelopment. |
What is Isakabba and OPC?No, The Nigerian Police does not have a good record with upholding Justice. |
What new F150 are you talking about? When you say new are you talking about a new body style Of the Harley Davidson Edition or somekind of Limited Edition? |
Sage I feel you men. People complain here in the west, but will never leave. People in Nigeria complain and will pay with their lives(Drowning of the coast of Spain) to get out. Yet all these people that say it is hard here, will never give up their space for someone else to replace them if asked. How come once Nigerians come and get settled, they immediately start filing paperwork for their relatives to come over? It is hypocrisy at it best. |
Exactly Eastcoast! Faking is now a way of life in Nigeria. Everyone has a need to belong.Have you seen a Nigerian movie lately? Nigerian Actors and Actresses have all manufactured an accent. The plot, the scenes, the storyline are losing the "Nigerian context". If Idekson was honest, he will tell stories of Nigerians acting like "American wannabes". |
David I feel u on the "Pardon me" tale. You call and they answer "Who Di$". Nigerians generally like to fake, and it is not going away anytime soon. But i really think Nigerians in Nigeria fake like American wannabes, more than Nigerians in America faking like they are someone else. At least we are here, and the influences are in your face 24/7. How do you explain a Kid in KC Lagos or The Bells in Otta or in Unilag, that has not travelled before but knows the hottest nightclub in NYC or London or Miami. That kid Knows where Busta Rhymes lives,Knows the Game"s real name, can analyze the whole eastcoast/westcoast rap beef, thanks to MTV Cribs, love-vendor my Ride, and Beef. In Nigeria they will even argue with you that lives there and tell you that you do not know what you are talking about. Someone told me that Washington DC is a state and would not allow me to corrected him, claiming i was not informed. Look at the trends back home and you will clearly see the copycat attitude. Girls are wearing these big sunshades, thanks to sex in the city, nip tuck, CSI, ETC. Kids in Nigeria that like Biggie, hate kids that like 2PAC and they have never been to Brooklyn or LA. Please Explain! |
Thank you Mochafella. Does he have a chance? I am not sure he would be Presidential material. He can do better in someone's cabinet as foreign secretary, or treasury secretary. |
David I think you are a little bit misguided here. I am sorry but many people change their names for many reasons especially economics rather than a fashion statement( It is easier to pronounce). If you have left Nigeria for 5-8yrs and are no more used to amala and you now like sushi, lasagna, pizza, burgers, fries, pancakes, etc. Guess what meal you are going to be looking for when you go on vacation to Nigeria, Ghana, or to the Caribbean(Pizza,Burgers and Fries). I think this website is successful because of Nigerians abroad and the reason is because we can express our INDIVIDUALITY better here(US) than in Nigeria. The Kumbaya attitude in Nigeria, is far different from Nigerians abroad and that is the main thing that changes within our persons when we emigrate to the west. Everybody simply holds on to the opinions more here. Back home people do not always speak their mind. Perfect example is the girl i hear on BBN (Ifeoma) I have not watched it, but people tell me that her accent is one of a kind and she is from Jos. Never travelled, i wonder if that is from TV or just from hanging out with her friends from the west. David i usually agree with you but in this case you are wrong. The same thing happens inside Nigeria. If you live in Enugu and you visit your friends in Lagos, your old friends in Lagos will act like Enugu is a village. Forgetting that they used to live there in their childhood. I personally do not thumb my nose at the people back home, but the same way i will disagree with you (David) is the same way i disagree with (Idekson). Nigerians in Nigerian are more American wannabes than the reverse. They all have a local American/British/Nigerian accent. My friends in Nigeria answers the phone with "Yo", "Yeah" Word Up" the use the F word more than i do. Everyone wants to have an afro or corn rows and the absorb the American influences more than Americans themselves. Look in Nigeria today if you are not faking you are not living. David, Nigerians in Nigeria are as guilty if not more than us here. Even within the country today, there is a funktified broken English that has a lot of American influences.I actually believe there is no other country in the world that is an American/UK wannabe like Nigeria. And with that said, Nigerians in Nigeria have hostility toward those that have managed to make it abroad. That is where the beef is, they want to come over and many times cannot and when you come back you are stereotyped from head to toe. The Fact is that i do not think that anyone can leave Nigeria at age 18 and come back at age 25 and be the same person. It would be a miracle, and your friends back home also changed quite a bit too.The difference is that you that travelled changed more than they did. It is just some cultural differences. You are shocked when people throw thrash out of the a moving car, i was shocked when my friend took a leak by the side of the road in broad day light, forgetting that i used to do that a lot. I am amazed at how people are so willing to take and give bribe, i am shocked when people drive with smoke coming out of their exhaust. I am amazed how people scream while on their phones, like they want you to be part of their conversation, i am shocked at how people spit everywhere, and how people talk with food in their mouth all the time. These things used to be the norm to me before, but i am not used to seeing all that now. |
Please forgive me, but who is Pat Utomi? |
Eastcoast u are right. I am confused exactly what his point is. How can you call them Nigerians and call them "Nigerian wannabes" in the same breath. And what is "Keeping it real in the Nigerian context mean"? |
I would think you would be needing accommodation on any vacation and i hope you are willing to pay for it. How long are you staying and are you thinking Hotel, hostel, or vacation apartment type complexes. The UK is expensive, i would budget about GBP 25 per day. That is just a guess. I live in the US, but i was recently in London on vacation. |
@Idekson What is a wannabe Nigerian? There are many Nigerians that have not travelled and have fake accents. I hear "Ify" on Big brother Nigeria has an accent and she has not travelled or lived abroad, is she a wannabe? |
@Akolowale There are people who live in Nigeria and are not fulfilled and think they can do better and want to leave Nigeria. My point is that many people complain and do not even try to leave the west. At least in Nigeria, people complain and make an effort to leave. These people here will tell you not to come that it is so hard, but they hardly ever go back home and will never leave for good. If the UK/US is so bad, why does anyone want to come and spend all these Millions of Naira to get a degree? When they can school in Nigeria for less than 2% of that cost. She can take my advice, move home and make it a better place. |
@Zionchic How are you doing your part? @Beyonce I am telling the truth about the USA, I really Like it here a lot. I love my Job,my home, my life. I will not be a Hypocrite and say one thing and then do another. Anybody that is not being sincere, should simply go back home and make room for others that want to come. Beyunce your post claims that you have been in the UK for more than 5YRS right? Now i am sure you know that you will do better as an accountant in Nigeria than in the UK, i think it is a mistake to continue to remain in the UK and deprive poor Nigerians of your Knowledge in this complex field. Please note that the Nigerian Government need accountants and are paying up to Naira 50,000 per month. Please go back and fill a need. Be Patriotic. |
@Zionchic Well then Zion i think you should go back and educate Nigerians on why it is a bad idea to go to the US, just like you did. And Please remember to tell them you have gained all these skills as a computer progammer and you are here in the country(Nigeria) for good. Tell them also that America is Bad and not for everyone, and that they need not waste their time in the US justlike you did. Progammers and Doctors are in high demand and are good paying jobs in Nigeria. You will be in Immediate demand. Tell are brothers and sisters back home to boycott the US and British embassies, it is a fool's paradise. Then after that tell them how bad America is and give them reasons to rethink thier trips. Tell them to learn from your mistakes. |
Zionchic If Nigeria is not so bad, then pack your stuff and go back home.Use your professional skills and degree to create Jobs for those "Suffering" in Nigeria. You cannot have it both ways Zionchic. If people are doing $10 per Hour Jobs, it may be just circumstance or just doing what the have to do to get by. I am sorry if i came to a quick conclusion, but you were ranting on how you can never do this or that and it really sounded like daddy was paying your fees and sponsoring you. I am still say asking, why are you here then? You know that Americans clean houses for $7per HR,d Drive Cabs round the clock, work at starbucks for $6.50per hr, work in the malls for minimum wage ETC are you any better? I am not sure what the difference is when a Nigerian does the same Job. Why this country (US) is great is because they have gotten away from your mentality. I know a friend that had a contract Job with the Veterans Affairs commision in Washington DC as a researcher, making close to $100,000 Annually and the government ended their project because of budget restraints and some politics, and he was immediately out of a job. His next job was as a manager of a Dunkin Donuts making $9.75 an Hour and had to be at work at 5.am every morning. He now owns his own Landscape business and cuts grass for $20 a pop. Nobody cares if you were a bank Manager in Lagos, or if you were a systems analyst with Shell or Exxon in Nigeria. As long as you are able to take care of yourself and pay your bills, what is it to anyone else? Coming to think of it, the guy working in the Gas station is Living better than many Bank Managers in Nigeria. He works 40hrs+ a week and can pay his bills and live an OK Life. The Bank Managers in Nigeria works an average of 60-70Hrs a week just to keep his Job. No overtime, no health insurance, no Job security, and he does not get a severance pay when the bank closes or goes under. Do not discriminate Jobs people do. I still want to know what you are doing here. I think you should not waste your time and money in the US and quickly go back home and invest in your country. Nobody is painting a glossy picture of the US, i am just saying that you have an option. If you do not get an office job, guess what you have to do what you have to do to make ends meet. In your case i guess you can always go back home as a fall back plan. Besides not everyone can get office jobs or even like office jobs. I work in the Auto Industry selling cars and i love what i do. If you locked me in an office I might lose my mind. If i lost my Job today and i will have to move on to the next thing. Zion please read you first post and correct yourself, you were dogging CNA, retail employees, and gas station attendants. Listen, if these jobs are beneath you, it is not for you. If the USA is so bad my sister, Virgin Airlines, BA, Alitalia, Lufthansa, KLM will be more than happy to do business with you. Tickets are sold "One-way" too you know. |
Point for Xkape. You just scored a goal! |
