. Yes you can foot your bills once you have the money. When your uncle goes to the Alien office, they should tell him what to bring ( this differs a bit from one town to another)

I think Visa delay mostly has to do with our Nigerian Issued documents. I read on the German website that Nigerian documents do not automatically carry verification so they have to be independently legalized and verified. So if there’s a delay in verifying your documents. (School transcripts for example) then it results in delay.

..this is a good point and it tallies with what I said earlier.. Verifying a German document doesn't take ages..if your Visa i s delayed think of other possible causes other than SL verification.. Check summer testimonies, many of those who went to interview with SL got their visum within 4-5 weeks..knowing our problem most times will help in solving them quicker than mere assumptions.

The truth is everybody will have one story or the other when it comes to SL......i used SL last year.....did interview with it......my cousin who is a nurse in DE did it for me......after a month when i saw that guys that did interview with me has all gotten their Am.....i wrote my Alien office.....no reply.......i had to call my cousin to ask her if she did recieve any mail from anywhere regarding my visa......and she told me that the alien office in the city i was going to ask her to submit some document which as at that time she could not provide them due to the fact that she has just lost her Job.....the alien office told her if she fails to reply them within a month that they will communicate back to the embassy what they like......and by this time my enrollment date was already at hand......called my school for extension so i could switch to BA but they said they will nt and dat due to the capacity of the course i was to go and study that they dont extend....i ask them wat abt defer...they said no and dat i will have to apply again come winter.......weytin man go do....i had to withdraw my application on the ground that i cannt meet up with enrollment......so to me....it depend on the state.......germany states alien office run their tins differently..........if the money day i will always advise go 4 BA......if no money Use SL........na so i c am ooo.

..I am surprised at this city's action..the first person that tried to write for me was rejected right there at their office because she lacked just one thing before the next person who had every of their requirements wrote for me...So I am wondering if it's me or that allien office is inconsistent with normal German standards and just so you know Germany s Germany that's why you can get SL from one state whereas you are going to another.. And of course who will want to start begging someone for SL if he has the block account money.. But my point is let's not just go about telling people that SL verification is 90 days ( this is not true at all) you will end up creating panic for those that SL is their last option... So from your story maybe the foreign office realized that your Anty was lacking sth and asked Nigeria embassy to hold with your Visa processing.. We are talking about when an SL has been issued without any problem at all.. Please and please there is nothing like 90 days to it.

I got my Am 4weeks after my interview, sent my SL 5 weeks after my Am( due to some unforeseen circumstances of course and not that I wanted to test the embassy). I waited for 2 weeks and 2 days to get my visum and before then I was troubled thinking that I am in trouble for submitting late.. Out of that fear, my friend visited the foreign office in my city to check if the delay was from them and guess what " they didn't receive anything from Nigeria embassy for verification " you know I used to ask myself a lot of questions about this SL verification of a thing " shebi na the same people wey issue SL you de return back the SL they issued for them to verify?? " it sounds funny but then the woman my friend met told him that any German embassy has a machine to detect a fake or original SL. Their is a seal on it that a fake one ( or what have you) does not carry..So to be honest I came to realize from my experience that whether BA or SL your Visa is highly dependent on the Visa Officer ( VO) with your file and not any state your SL comes from. If you doubt it ask yourself why some folks with BA are the still complaining about delay in issuing their Visa.. Why not Automatic issuing of Visa to BA guys? It takes absolutely nothing to verify from fintiba or any other bank one used but then we hear of different stories..I encourage everyone of you to pray hard and take necessary actions when time comes but I assure that 97% of Visa delay is from Lagos and not your City.. I went to the embassy 1 week after submitting my Am as God may have it my VO stepped out and with Paulinus's permission I rushed her and she went inside checked my file and told me it wasn't Ready my friend went to Allien office they said the last time the embassy communicated with them concerning my case was the date I got my AM so that the next message they are expecting from the embassy is that they have issued my Visa not any SL document..97% of our Visa process happens in Lagos so I encourage everyone of you to play your part and leave the rest to God every other story will not do you any good.. Make sure you have plans on getting the money ready at least 3 weeks after that..if you can do that, then you reply the AM.. What I am saying is, your Am usually comes through your VO' s mail so you can reply him/her that due to financial constraints, your proof of funding will be available in 3weeks time ( please and please you must be certain of what you day in the mail)
I got my Am before proof of funding and I know a lot of people who did.. So I got to realize that the alien offices just sends embassy an approval of your Visa and its Nigeria embassy that demands that proof before releasing the Visa ( it is not the other way round). If you don't have anything before your interview, just go ahead and make sure that latest 3 weeks after your Am drops, you send to the embassy what they need of you( that of course is after writing your VO)...I hope I made sense?

Enrollment or Application?
Make sure you know the difference between application and enrollment. By enrolling you get a study placement at RWTH Aachen, that is you become a member of the university.
Before you enroll, however, it is always required for all courses of study that you apply through RWTHonline within the application period.
After being admitted at RWTH Aachen, it seems one need to apply for enrolment here in Nigeria in other to enrol later on getting to germany or do we just wait until we get to germany to enrol without any application for enrolment here in Nigeria ?

Like I said before enrollment is only done when you are present physically so get the documents I suggested and check if their are more things to bring along. So focus on Visa and you will be good to go.. Remain blessed.

@ Goztino and all those coming to RWTH Aachen Applied Geosciences please make sure to write an English exam ( IELTS or TOEFLS) I will suggest TOEFL the ibt score needed is 90.. Note their is no shortcut to this ( proof of English language proficiency) and what have you.. If you don't write in Nigeria, you will write when you come and this will cause you to miss registering important courses.. See what I mean
• once you arrive, you do health insurance and proceed for enrollment ( I must say at this point that enrollment is not done from Nigeria, it must be here!)
• it is after enrollment that you will be transferred from being an applicant to being a student
• most courses registration don't last long and so if any of your enrollment requirements is missing, you might be attending lectures but no course registration ( you can't write exam for any course you didn't register)

So my advice is as follows
• get your English exam certificate ready if you have not gotten
• your degree result, transcript and any other documents that you feel is important
• once your Visa comes out, pay your semester dues from Nigeria. This has 2 very important advantage
1. You can complete your enrollment in a day
2. Your semester ticket will be processed within a week
Don't delay that so that you won't spend your money on trains and bus that you are supposed to enter for free.
• keep on checking your application page for that place they write PRINT INVOICE you will know when the invoice for winter semester dues is out. It contains the bank details and the amount.
• last but very important is ACCOMMODATION.. To this I have two suggestions
1. Search for Studierendenwerk Aachen, register and stand on the queue for any accommodation of your choice.
2. Their is a Facebook group called INCAS AACHEN join and you will see time to time accommodation advert.
It hadn't reached my turn in Studierendenwerk but I got accommodation before coming " thanks to INCAS AACHEN "
** also if the embassy needs any proof that you course will be thought in English, send me a pm our course coordinator will send you a letter to that effect.
Do these things, prepare well for interview and we will all see by the coming fall.

Did you just submit SL with your passport and insurance? If yes then that is it..they usually take time to verify SL after AM. But if you are using BA or have submitted your SL before AM then you won't wait longer cos hopefully you will be contacted soon.

I went to I inquire about my Visa status... I initially thought I wouldn't be attended to but I got to realize that after Paulinus ushers people for Visa interview in, the next group he attends to are those for "inquiries" . so the security asked me what I came for and I said "inquiry" I was immediately ushered in and I sat and waited for my turn.. When it got to my turn, he( paulinus) politely asked me what the problem was and I answered. As I was still talking with him, my VO came out and immediately I pointed at her, Paulinus happily handed me over to her and she attended to me quickly.. So that is where knowing your VO comes in..your VO is in charge of your file from the day of your interview to the day you receive your Visa.. He/she has a quick answer to your Visa status at any point in time.. It made the work easier for Paulinus.. Hope this explanation will solve lots of doubts.

Please I need suggestions on what to do. I applied for long term student visa for Germany through the German embassy in Nigeria. I did my interview on 7th February and up till today I've not gotten AM(approval mail). I have tried contacting the embassy several times but nothing positive came out.. I.e they have never replied to any of my mails and even when I call they just tell me to send them mail. I contact the alien office about three times too and each reply said they had not received my documents from the embassy and that I should contact the embassy, infact the last mail i sent to them this Monday, they replied that I should refrain from sending them multiple mails. Now I am so confused and helpless cos I can't even say what is causing the delay. I funded my block account even before the interview date and submitted all necessary documents. my enrollment deadline was April 11th, I had to plead with the school to grant me an extension, now they gave me 1week extension latest, so my new enrollment deadline is April 18th but the embassy is yet to give me feedback till today, I'm really worried. Any suggestion or what next I should do? Should I go to the embassy in Lagos? Will that help?

Go to the embassy around 12pm and tell the security man that you have an inquiry. He will put you on the queue and Paulinus will gently attend to you..it will be excellent if you can tell him who you VO was.. But the first thing you will do is to tell him the problem you have...please and please nobody will walk you out of German embassy not even the security if you came for an inquiry ( talking out of experience) do it ASAP.. May God be with you.

Don't you think you should go to the embassy in person, tell Paulinus about the issue, you might be shocked to discover that they are done with it but it is dumped at one office or the other..
