Lol @ your last paragraph.

Finally someone with a good head. No hope is lost after all. Nigerians get agitated over certain issues. I wanted to prove a point and I got it.

Yes, not all of them. In fact, 60% of my friends are Igbos. I love them fiercely. I've had unpleasant encounters as well...just with other tribes.

Thought the tribal issue was just on NL but I've had so many unpleasant issues. Note I didn't say all of them...

But really why do people want to die over religious and tribal issues? Why cant we just be Nigerians? I've asked that question many times.

See the level of hatred on just a line of comment? The change is not about Buhari or GEJ, it's about all of us.

Thank you for your REASONABLE comment.
Yw...60% wao! U sure live up to your moniker..lol. Yes u are absolutely right. The change is about us. We always put tribe and religion before reason. Nigerians are actually good people but the division on so many lines is hindering our collective progress as a Nation. One thing iv discovered by association is that we are basically the same (talking of the average Nigerian). I have friends from evry part of the country and we relate very well despite our ethnic and religious differences. Formal Education and exposure should equip us to let go of whatever happened in the past and learn to accept each other as man and woman first before colour, race, religion and other distractions set in.

Caracta, u r very reasonable and u r not afraid to speak ur mind. Invaluable traits.

Many of them are tribalistic. Wonder why...

So annoying and unnecessary.
From the point of view of a Nigerian who has lived in the east south and west for extended periods, I disagree. Maybe you've had some unpleasant encounters but it dosnt justify your statements. Nigeria is largely a tribal society and everyone naturally leans towards his/hers. Yes Igbos have their issues like everyone else but Iv found them to be the most accomodating.

It's ur opinion anyway and u hav evry right to air it but I tink u deliberately posted this to start a tribal war

& I meant wat I stated earlier. I see sensibility, empathy and maturity in your posts. Those are rare qualities and displaying them on a faceless forum is very intriguing.
RomanceRe: Can U Date A Girl/guy Who's Got Halitosis? by oliidell(m): 9:15am On Jan 03, 2015
Halitosis is a very embarassing condition, but it can be properly managed. First, there has to be proper diagnosis to determine the type and the cause. Majority of the cases are oral (confined to the mouth; results from the action of bacteria found on the tongue & gums on retained food particles esp protein to release the foul odour). Some cases are extra oral (caused by ailments like liver failure, diabetes etc) and thus foul gases pass thru the oesophagus to the mouth.

Don't know about a permanent cure for now, but the oral case can be effectively managed through proper mouth care; tongue cleaning, chewing sugarless gum-this keeps the mouth wet and slows down the action of the bacteria, use of dental floss and mouth wash, gargling salt water...etc.

For the extra oral, seek proper medical diagnosis and attention.
@MizMyColi...I like ur contribution & ur sensibility intrigues me. I see ur posts.

This topic might be entirely useless to some ''matured people'' but no need to be selfish, there are some

So called ''immature people'' too, dey deserve to be pleased. All i will say is that the mods in each section needs to work bettter by selecting the best posts from each section.

Im not a fan of the old NL where the same topics can stay on front page for days, but 54 topics/day is also
Too much.

There has to be a balance really and that's what seun needs to work on.
God bless you. This is exactly my thoughts too. I understood what was going on these past weeks. Nairaland is going commercial. Seun hinted as such when he advertised for a frontpage mod & I believe part of the deal is to make fp topics more appealing.

I was glad to see dat post by chuukwudi. It's high time someone wrote that. I'm sure he stated what majority of the oldtimers have been thinking. It's seun's site so he's the boss, but I pray he dosen't scarifice content on the altar of commerce and entertainment cos many Nigerians in diaspora depend on nairaland fp to stay in touch.

I've followed this site almost from the beginning & watched it develop until it became a daily addiction.

Macklef, unlike you, I so miss the old nairaland but like u stated, 'balance is key'

No. Don't c AY ever begging for money. He is too much of a smart business man & he's got mad concept; Comedy, events, fashion now film.

It's actually very embarassing 4 our Naija celebs to beg for money to foot hosp bills evry now and then.

It usually starts with " See amazing photos of Ngozi Nwosu as she dramatically lost 20 pounds in two months" then months later the public will start donating money.

I saw recent headlines about Mr. Ibu's weight loss. I hope it's a concious effort.

until senators are paid less than 250,000 salary with all benefits inside it...Nigeria is going nowhere..complete thieves

such a shame and they end up doing nothing after their tenure.
18,000 compared to 2 Million.....smh..that is why the GAP between the rich and poor in Nigeria will FOREVER CONTINUE TO REMAIN WIDE !!!
In my opinion, it should be professionalised. Aspirants should have at least a Masters degree is governance, political science or related disciplines and should be placed on civil service salary structure without additional benefits for now. Then we will know the true patriots that really have the interest of the country at heart.

By virtue of my job, I am privy to some info. The Op's analysis is not entirely correct. Most of the allowances there are annual. The basic salary however is monthly and dat alone is approximately 30 million naira. There is no way in this country that a lawmaker would earn 2m annually- that's an entry level salary in moderately paid govt offices. The constituency allowance too is not annual, it is released quarterly. There are lots of other hidden allowances not reflected here. The documented annual take is not up to 353 million but it is also not 29million naira. It is in the region of 80-100 million for an average law maker.

Craziebone pointed out that all the other allowances took bearing from the basic allowance. Now this is true, and the implication is that, since the basic is monthly, every other allowance is calculated on monthly basis. Now this is a good point but It wasn't done that way. That data originated from 'Osun Defender'- a tabloid during the occupy Nigeria saga. I think it was exagerrated for effect.

Ishilove dear, like I stated above, there are lots of other allowances not declared so it is very possible that their eventual take home is higher than the amount bandied. if u have any information pls share.

I'm sick and tired of the sham we call government.

I'm finding myself actually thinking of Campus Blues nowadays. Must be love!cheesy

Would be fun to get this going again, at least to celebrate the third year anniversary of that fateful day I decided to start this story.

It was nice back then. When I wasn't encumbered...with life.Responsibilities. A time gulping job.

Memories....

I know a lot of people have moved on. From this story. From love or the semblance of it. Moved towards maturity or something like it. Moved towards change that life brought their way.

But I also know there are people out there. People Like me. Who thirst. and yearn. In pursuit of something all encompassing. An escape from the oft sour taste of reality.

So. Maybe we could do this one more time. And have a little Tega and Tunji in our lives once again.

If you're with me, let's make it a date. 26/11/14. Night.
God willing.
Hey lolaluv1, when I clicked on campus blues 3yrs ago, I immediately knew it was goin to b my new high. Ur moniker back then was lola.luv I think. It's good to know u intend to revisit it cos I cant get enough of Tega & Tunji. I love ur writing style & ur online personality. You must be very busy now....26-11 is long gone. Well, take all the time you need, we'll wait.
