By virtue of my job, I am privy to some info. The Op's analysis is not entirely correct. Most of the allowances there are annual. The basic salary however is monthly and dat alone is approximately 30 million naira. There is no way in this country that a lawmaker would earn 2m annually- that's an entry level salary in moderately paid govt offices. The constituency allowance too is not annual, it is released quarterly. There are lots of other hidden allowances not reflected here. The documented annual take is not up to 353 million but it is also not 29million naira. It is in the region of 80-100 million for an average law maker.

Craziebone pointed out that all the other allowances took bearing from the basic allowance. Now this is true, and the implication is that, since the basic is monthly, every other allowance is calculated on monthly basis. Now this is a good point but It wasn't done that way. That data originated from 'Osun Defender'- a tabloid during the occupy Nigeria saga. I think it was exagerrated for effect.

Ishilove dear, like I stated above, there are lots of other allowances not declared so it is very possible that their eventual take home is higher than the amount bandied. if u have any information pls share.

I'm sick and tired of the sham we call government.

I know a lot of people have moved on. From this story. From love or the semblance of it. Moved towards maturity or something like it. Moved towards change that life brought their way.

But I also know there are people out there. People Like me. Who thirst. and yearn. In pursuit of something all encompassing. An escape from the oft sour taste of reality.

So. Maybe we could do this one more time. And have a little Tega and Tunji in our lives once again.

Even without opening the link, I know this list sucks. There is no way on earth Genevieve would be worth that amount in 2014.
This article was published sometime in 2011 and the site u got it from copied it verbatim. So even though the date on the page is Nov 2014, the dates in the write-up did not go beyond 2011.

Vanguard published something similar a while back and listed Genevieve's worth as 220million. Now, dats more like it, but even that is doubtful because they factored only her endorsements. 'Net worth' is not just money earned, it is a person's assets minus liabilities. Assets here includes money in the bank, investments...e.g. She has houses and other landed property which would surely appreciate. Liabilities could be money wasted on parties, trips and other frivolities...e.g. She bought a brand new Mercedes Benz G 63 AMG worth about 30 million naira which would surely depreciate.

So my point is that the list posted on this thread is highly misleading and unworthy of this site.

I agree that u are entitled to ur opinion, no matter how dense it is. In terms of box to box Nigerian politics, BAT is my num 1. The only snag I see here is that the masses would have prefered BRF's Femi Hamzat for continuity sake but Jagaban controls the machinery so the delegates danced to his tune. I believe he knows what he is doing but APC cud lose if Agbaje flags for PDP. People might vote for his person and not the party, but then votes might not count as usual.

Pls rise above religious sentiments, it will do u a lot of good.

I clicked on this thread hoping to see something new & was disappointed to see the same old Oct 2009 gist. I was glad to see many comments stating how stale the news was, it shows the calibre of people on nairaland.

Now this is definitely a great story worthy of the Front page considering the fact that some new nairalanders may not have come across it, but it shud have been modified to read "The Nigerian-Adebayo Ogunlesi 'who' acquired the London Gatwick Airport"

The man is certainly an enigmatic investment expert. Oxford, Harvard, Chairman GIP, Lead Director Goldman Sachs, Involved in African Finance Corporation etc.

He is the only African on a board that has Lakshmi Mittal and Peter Oppenheimer and he is Lead director. This is someone the FG should be courting to play a role in the country's Ministry of Trade and investments.

Don't be ridiculous, who releases patients with bleeding insides on the streets?! It would have been sheer stupidity to release Mr Sawyer on the streets. There was nothing heroic about "quarantining patient zero". They made matters worse by failing to take the proper precautions to protect themselves. About 7 people got infected in the hospital and were potentials for an escalation.

You got only urself to deal with.
