This list is faulty. First, there books on myriad topics. Religious, academics, inspirational, history, politics, food etc. But I can only see one religious book. The holy books of Islam, Hinduism and Buddahism should have made the list. Secondly, any book that has stayed on the academic curriculum of populous countries like China,India, Indonesia, USA, Brasil, Nigeria etc shud be on this list. Thirdly, how come most of the books there are story books What happened to other topics, I hear cook books sell. |
Mynd 44: As Christians, it is not right to eat it. Don't even touch it. Just send it to my house and I will dispose of it for you.Mynd I completely agree with you. Abeg send some to me, i got friends @lawma ![]() |
Yep. Ddnt have to do no research. He is my neighbour. We share a fence. |
The validity of this story is highly disputed as there are no hard facts to support it. It is a congenital disorder termed-'Diprosopus', characterised by duplication of facial features in humans and animals. Most human victims are either stillborn or die within hours of birth. |
whatlyf: What a silly question. Honestly, this makes no sense!!! Everyone knows his/her ability and where his/her skills lies. That The Clueless one in Aso Rock is a Failure is one thing, but the honorable thing to do is to step down rather than seek to plunge the country into further misery. With such a mentality like your no society will ever move forward. No wonder Mr. President retrogress from failure to mockeryIv been trying without success to reconcile your comment with the original post. There is absolutely nothing silly about that question and your reply is completely off-key. If you did not understand it, you could have asked someone to interprete it in your dialect. How dare you taint this beautifully crafted post with the cut & join grammar I just quoted above?? Substance abuse and intelligent conversation sure don't mix. Back to ur question o jare; I'll do the following in this order: Anti-Terrorism: I'll deploy all necessary resources to manage the present scourge with the hope of freeing the abducted girls. I'll fish out all the moles and disgruntled elements within the country's security system and adequately empower the armed forces. Security: I'l personally ensure that the country's land and coastal boundaries are properly delineated and protected. This would be done in conjunction with the National Boundary Commission, all the boundary states and the affected countries. I'll revisit the National identity card scheme and ensure that evry citizen is accounted for. I'l ensure judicious use of billions of naira embezzled as security votes by mandating all governors to put a viable security system in place and account for unspent funds. I'l gradually but totally overhaul the present Police force and build a new and disciplined one. Corruption: I'll place everyone-myself inclusive on normal public service salary scale, scrap allowances, repeal the immunity clause and make the anti-graft agencies autonomous. I'll restructure the electoral system and ensure that votes count. I'll bring all who have embezzled public funds in the past to book and make looting and many other offences punishable by Life imprisonment. Economy: As we all alredy know that the energy sector (Petroleum and Natural Gas) is our major source of income. So I'll build refineries and Gas plants. Stop exporting crude and start exporting refined products and LPG. I'll use the proceeds to develop potentially vibrant sectors like; Education, Agriculture (with focus on food and biofuel production), Tourism and Sports I'll harness all d abundant but wasting power-generating resources (Natural gas, Hydro, Seismic, Coal, Wind, Organic waste etc) and ensure the generation of more than enough Megawatts. I'll invest in institutions of higher learning, Hospitals, Military intelligence etc and bring them to international standard. **This way, Nigeria can export Power, Energy, Intelligence/Security, Human resources etc Welfare: This is coming last, not because it is the least important but rather because it cant be fully addressed until most of the above factors are in place; I'll develop most of the rural areas with recovered funds and foreign aids to evenly spread the population and discourage rural-urban migration. I already stated that I'll rejuvenate the agricultural sector to put affordable food on the table. I'll ensure that the average Nigerian Family can afford a home through the National Housing Scheme I'll ensure affordable healthcare through the National Health Insurance Scheme I'll ensure that the Nigerian Pension Commission is functioning at optimal capacity etc etc. Easier said, I know, but it's not beyond us as a Nation. A step in the right direction will go a long way. |
It's my opinion, so if u feel differently, build ur own list. Besides, u can do wit some exposure. U sound very limited. belzieee: no pete edochie and mercy Johnson or even Rita Dominic.. This is crap |
Winning an Oscar (American Academy Award) entails so many things which include: Breaking into the American movie industry-Hollywood, Being cast in a lead or supporting role of a critically acclaimed, commercially successful movie, The movie being nominated for that category, The Actor/Actress eventually winning it. For a Nigerian Actor, it would take immense talent and near perfect spoken english-cos that's the easiest foreign language to master in Nigeria. For Actors who have broken into Hollywood, here are my prospectives: Chiwetal Ejiofor Hakeem Kae Kasim Gbenga Akinnagbe Sophie Okonedo Antonia Okonma Dayo Okeniyi Hope Olaide Wilson For Nollywood Actors, the following have a decent shot; Genevieve Nnaji Olu Jacobs Funso Adeolu Kunle Afolayan Omoni Oboli Tomi Odunsi Joe Ben Nse Ikpe Etim |
lolaluv1: How come No one is picking triangular shape.Lol. Is dat ur spec? Good ol' Lola. Where did u disappear to? U dazzled us wit ur writing skills in dose days. Nairaland realy has people wit amazing talents. Many names in my head, but u r stil my Num 1 story teller. I hope u still tow dat line cos I'm convinced it's ur calling. |

Symphony007: exactly...schools like this have a curriculum dropped out of heaven. They teach their students over 5 foreign languages with special tutors and ear sets, and make sure each student must excel in one sports. Indeed schools like this groom great men who help each other. Example. Eton college, windsor, england. Produced over 6 british prime minister, foreign secretaries, diplomats, currently, david cameron, u.k prime minister, george osborne, chancellor of the exchequer, boris johnson, mayor of london are all old ethonians. hausadreturn: dont forget - Ojukwu hausadreturn: Ex EtonianJust to straighten this out, Odimegwu Ojukwu is not an ex Etonian. He attended Kings College Lagos, slapped a white teacher for humiliating a black lady, jailed briefly, expelled-I think, then sent off to Epsom College, Surrey, UK. The only Nigerians I'm sure attended Eton are: Tokunbo Akintola- Ladoke Akintola's Son,Tedum Saro Wiwa-Ken Saro Wiwa's son and Tomiwa Edun-Sir Elyan in 'Merlin' Eton College is located at Berkshire, Near Windsor. It is a boys boarding school that has churned out a good percentage of british royals and aristocrats. David Cameron is the 19th Etonian Prime Minister. Eton College to me is like an Ivy-League High school and it's surely a class symbol cos the british aristocracy is a closed group. |
Something tells me this list is faulty. All the schools u listed are in Lagos. There are equally expensive schools in other Nigerian cities and the FCT. |
I'm going to be very frank in my comment: When I read the question, no answer came to mind. I did not even know that colours have opposites. Then I dwelt a little bit on it and settled for blue. Having gone through all the comments and done some internet surfing and also recollected my O-level 'Fine Arts', I think the correct answer is 'Green'. @Tosdam: u have to post d answer. |
exxell: What about economic bomb blast? Failed government policy bomb blastThey don't take lives immediately. Wit dose, there is stil a chance to get it right. @topic; thoughtless utterances. PDP has failed us, but I'm still not a fan of APC. God give us men a time like this demands.... |

Mynd44:

Me I think the Sports Commission should have a dept dat conducts dese tests periodically, esp during international competitions like dis. The embarassment will always reflect on all Nigerians. |
Very bad news. Now we'll go spiralling down the medal table. I hope others learn from this. Still loving #zoesmith# |
Heath Ledger- Fantastic Actor... I particularly liked him in ' A Knight's tale' |
BluIvy:BluIvy, can I educate u a bit? Nigeria is a country blessed with abundant resources. True, the citizens leave the country enmass becos of the greed and ineffectiveness of the ruling class. Botswana however, as lucky as u are to have a good government and a fast developing economy cannot stand beside us on any term; Global achievements, Natural resources, Human resources, Sports etc. Botswana's greatest soccer moment is qualifying for Nations Cup. Incase it skipped ur memory, the Super Eagles are current champions and Nigeria has a glowing record in all levels of Soccer competitions. In 1996, the Nigerian National team was rated 5th in the world by FIFA and british based World Soccer Magazine picked the Eagles as team of the year ahead of Brazil and Argentina. Enuf of sports, dats not wat bothers me about u guys. Whenever I think of your Botswana, what comes to mind is " a country of 2 million people with more than 750,000 HIV cases!!! How d hellll did u let dat happen Una go soon finish o. |
@OP: Clicked on the link. Nothing new...arrant hogwash. Are u from ogwashi? |
On hearing the news about Stella Oduah's certificate forgery, I checked her page on wiki out of curiousity and observed that it was updated about 2 hours ago thus: There has been allegations that Stella Oduah-Ogiemwonyi purportedly lied that she obtained an MBA degree from St Paul's College. However, the News website, SaharaReporters, had on Jan 6th 2014 quoted authorities at St. Paul’s College, where Mrs. Oduah claimed she studied for Bachelor and Masters degrees, as saying they did not award her an MBA at anytime as the university does not even have a graduate school or graduate programme. Old Joke, not basket mouth's. He only modified it. People just misunderstood it or chose to. It dosnt make him a rapist. |
Congrats 2baba. Now u hav a legit child |
heykims: .... the African footballer of the year 2013 will be named in Lagos Nigeria precisely on the 9th of January. The player to be crowned should however be very much evaluated and deemed fit to earn this prestigious honour because his personality on the field of play either in the national team or club will go a long way in speaking for African football.U claim to be a Nigerian and proud African, but from your view and subsequent posts, you come across as a disgruntled tribalist and a Mikel-hater who knows next to nothing about soccer-on and off the pitch. In a nations cup year, a player's exploits in the AFCON should be put before whateva happens at European clubs. It's looking like Nigeria is about to be played out again this year, dats CAF politics. One quick one; u stated that you are very good at what u do. As a professional footballer, Obi is among the first ten, if not the first three for his country. As a professional "watevathehellyoudo", if you are anywhere near the top 500,000, u won't have d time for such hideously opinionated compositions. Quit hating and don't even try comparing urself wit dis dude again cos u both are poles apart in terms of achievements. Come Jan 9th, I realy hope Mikel wins so dat the nairalander called heykims can go commit suicide. |
I clicked on this thread because the topic is one dat has always been argued about. I have a lot to say for or against it but dats not y I'm posting this. I realy think it's high time Seun and the super MOD's review wateva policy that guides what ends up on the front page. The Op just expressed his opinion in the wackiest of ways and bam! It ends up on the front page of one of the best nigerian social websites. I have followed seun's posts and I'm certain that he is a very reasonable and matured person. Even when provoking write-ups are directed at him, he still chooses his words properly when replying. I visit nairaland fp religiously on daily basis and I must commend the effort of many of the moderators. I won't mention names, but a good number of them constantly impress me with their intelligence and sense of judgement. I know that nairaland is composed of people from various backgrounds who have diff beliefs and opinions, thus what irks one might make sense to another. I also agree that anyone who dosent like the contents of a thread should just go on to another one-i do this a lot. Lately Iv been seeing some questionable topics on the front page but this particular one in my opinion is an assualt on our good senses dats why I'm posting this here. Like I said earlier, this is a topic dat is very debatable and I can argue on both sides, but the initial post is so derogatory and shallow that I don't think the thread should be on display. |
Dbanj o o Dbanj abiala (2ice) Ebubedike Dbanj abiala Igwe d koko...eh I realy realy like Dbanj. His dexterity, stage presence etc. Tubaba on d other hand is music personified. His voice, lyrical depth and unusual singing ability will always stand him out from any crowd. A choice, tougher than Lupey Vs Adaobi123. I PREFER 2baba |
I don't know what to make of dis story and I won't conclude that the lady is lying without giving her benefit of the doubt. I'v been hearing ghost stories ever since words started to make sense to me, now I'm 30 yrs and yet to see a ghost physically. I have heard various tales of personal encounters from some very respectable people whom I knew were not lying, but that dosn't mean I believe in ghosts. My point; some people obviously see stuff and believe what they see but these visions could result from their emotional state, so most of these apparitions could be delusions. Again, the world is full of evil powers, thus people can be influenced diabolically to see things and believe them for whatever reason. The human mind is very strong (Pathological liars are able to beat detectors cos in their minds, they've convinced themselves that they are speaking the truth). When things like this happen, they seem to defy logic initially, but all supernatural occurrences have natural explanations. It's just a matter of time. In this case, the eldest child should be able to say one or two things to corroborate or contradict the story. |
