Thank you very much I appreciate LagosismyHome: I checked this as it happened to a friend but this was many years ago so rules might have been checked so check gov website
Sadly when I checked there are no provisions for a Tier 2 or Tier 4 if the main holder dies than to go back . I saw during Covid time that if its key worker and its covid then ILR will be granted . Dont know if it still in place but I saw it
Apart from covid exception , its only ILR and British that I think their spouse are given ILR if they pass on |

Thanks a bunch I will do more practice on my interviews to be more confident. mdeeokoye: Can’t say if we applied a trick per say. We just did lots of practice and tried to validate responses. Accenture’s second level interview was more around picking a topic amongst a list of selected topics and then talking about it. She picked AI, she specifically picked up deep learning use cases I think. Talked about similar class room projects about it and her experience in it using python. Then there was the behavioural now because it’s a graduate role she tried to answer them based on class room activities and did not really talk much about her previous experience in financial related stuffs she had done on Nigeria because at that graduate level they don’t expect that much because they intend to train you I believe. Also we did lots of practice as I wanted to hear how she sounds over the questions to ensure she was confident and all. Her final interview was with a technical /lead person in the firm I think. Same kinda process like the first. I know it’s competitive All the best and good luck in your next interviews |

Wow this is so beautiful to read. I pray this grace and favour locates me soonest. For me I've been getting plenty rejections as well and it always come during the interview stage passing the graduate test has always been easy for me but the interview is something else. I really wonder what the trick here is? mdeeokoye: Permit me to say a few around job search and a strategy when coming in to the Uk via your question maybe it may help a few peeps:- My self and my wife we came to the Uk October 2020, My wife was a student while I was the dependent. I got a job almost immediately and starting working as a software engineer in a firm in Liverpool while my wife focused on her studies as we literally sold everything and planned to start a life here in the Uk. But we *had* a plan. Our plan was that by God’s grace I would get a sponsored job and because she also had experience as well, she would also finish her masters and also get a sponsored job kinda both of us having sponsorship running differently to avoid stories that touch. By the way my wife has about 5 years experience as a BA in treasury management mostly around a solution called calypso(one of the biggest around). Immediately she started school she started applying for graduate roles because they kinda offer jobs months/ even a year ahead with sponsorship before you even finish your program. We got lots of rejections, too many for that matter. Most times she would cry as I was always consoling her that they are the ones missing out as she would definitely get one. As God may have it she got Accenture graduate role more inclined around project management. We were excited because at least we got the ball rolling as regards our big plans. 5 months after working in the firm in Liverpool I got an offer with sponsorship with another eCommerce firm in Leicester which required us is to relocate to Leicester, again the plan fell into place. Wifey finally graduated in October with a distinction( as our money no fit waste ). Plans changed as I thought that she can actually get better in terms of job and pay. We started looking out for Calypso roles and to my surprise they are high in demand here in the Uk and the pay was great. Of course We we’re looking at sponsorship but we did not mind having one without sponsorship but with a better pay as she can go Under me as a dependent but I had that believe that we can eat out cake and have it. We applied to FD and LSE as they had roles and pay structure was great! To our surprise we had interview slots. My o my the interview was a breeze as na my wife they teach the guys for the interview. FD gave her an offer as a senior BA after like a week and said they will sponsor her visa under mine and we were like should we take it, meanwhile LSE was in the pipeline and the interview was also a breeze off cause we stalled FD’s offer and waited for LSE it was a bit slow because it was via an agency and the agency was skeptical about sponsorship but the final manager that interviewed her was so impressed and pushed for sponsorship and eventually they gave her an offer!!! FD got back to her and she told FD that she has an offer now with LSE, and they said they will match the money and started talks about how they can strategise her into management in no time but come on LSE was just the height! She is starting with LSE later this month and all our plans since we came to the Uk kicked in, it was all God and preparation and opportunity! Why I am saying this! If you come in to the Uk in October or January start applying immediately, don’t wait till your masters is about rounding up before you apply, there are lots of graduate roles, I would reckon that more experienced roles would want you to start immediately and would not give you the buffer to start months ahead. Lastly you can always yearn for more! Go for it! You have it in you! Hope this helps anyone |

Thank you so much and congratulations on your new home. I'm much at peace now to proceed. abubarakat: I used it in 2020 to buy a house with my wife.
We both had accounts with Newcastle Building and maxed the £4,000 allowance per year. We both got a top up of £1,000 each and used it for a newly built property.
The process of using it was very straightforward. I contacted the building trust and told them I wanted to use it for a home deposit. They gave me a form, completed and returned it.
When it was time to drop the deposit, I gave their details to our solicitors and they handled the transaction. End of story. |

Thank you. So does it mean as far as I do not withdraw my money (other than to buy a house) I won't pay back the 25%? ukay2: I use Skipton Building Society....you safe max of 4k pounds in a year and UK.Gov gives you 25% of what you saved....the 25% is not free o, you will pay back later
You pay back the 25% if you withdraw the money if its not to buy your first house.
You should be less than 40 years to qualify.
Other ogas and madams will help out. |

iboboyswag: So, I said I was going to update the group on how it goes irrespective of the outcome.
As advised by a few people here, we wrote to the home office requesting for an exceptional assurance. We followed the approach suggested by tobexin and Contra5 and thank God, we have just received a notification granting our request.
We were given an extra 3 months until February 2022. This should be enough.
I want to say a big thank you to everyone who took out time to respond with a possible solution.
Justwise, quite unlike what I had expected, your words were soothing and encouraging. Thank you very much.
Tobexin, the fire in your words were just all that I needed to gain some confidence in the approach. Like I said, I had been advised to go the route, but I wasn't confident in the outcome. Thank you plenty for taking it up like it was your trouble.
Contra5, you made it all make sense. It went just as you had commented. Your insight was the key that broke the lock. I really appreciate you. Thank you.
Lagosismyhome, Ma'am graceful as ever. I admire your online personality and can only imagine how wonderful you must be offline.
Dupyshoo, thank you for coming through. I appreciate.
Theguyfromhr, although I couldn't lawyer up, your interest was timely. Thank you.
Now, there were others who had absolutely no solution to offer, rather than keep shut and just pass, they chose to pass scathing remarks, and conjure wild insinuations.
While the remarks are confined to the gutters where they rightfully belong, it is the insinuations that are disturbing. Because, I can't imagine how a supposed educated adult can come up with "supposed factual statements" on issues they barely have the facts.
I assume that the right approach would be to ask questions. But no! You chose instead to bask in your self-absorbed nature of sanctimony. Now, that's a problem we have on here. People are often quick to pass negative judgements on what they do not completely understand and by that, tilt the conversation or scare others who may have challenges that requires helpful inputs.
It is all shades of wrong. Yes, I concede no one owes anyone a comment but then I expect that adults would comport themselves as adults.
To you who may have a challenge but are too scared to speak up because of these ones, speak up but ignore them. These ones claim to know it all and are quick to state their thoughts no matter how wrong or how stupid it may sound. Ignore them. Congratulations, I almost commented on how many people were mean and inferring absurd things like "I find it difficult why people cannot focus on their studies". If they said that to you would you be happy? haba Sometimes this place can be toxic. Most of us are here for the same purpose to live and survive, now why is it difficult to help your fellow brother, but no you rather laugh at people's struggles. May God guide you through going forward. |

daholiest: Hello all please how do I go about the renewal of my Nigerian passport here in the UK. Please Hello Go to the website https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/ and apply online for it, I paid $106 when I did mine. Click on apply for passport renewal and follow the directions from there. It pretty easy to apply. Now after application is where the hassle begins. I applied for mine in March and went for biometrics in September (they take a lot of time to schedule you for an appointment) What I will advise you to do is if you are patient enough, after you apply online send an email to them asking them to schedule you for your biometrics and wait for a response or otherwise you can go to the embassy in London without an appointment and stay on the queue (it attracts an extra fee of £100I think) and they/they may not answer you that day. I saw alot of people do it. The good thing is after your biometrics it takes just 2 weeks for the passport to be ready (well for mine sha). Goodluck. Start with the application online first. |
