agbotaen: YOU are just a jester who does not know any thing about owa kingdom and ika except for what you read.Agbotaen, whatever you wrote up here was/is a result of Bini leadership/dominance over you knockheads!.As a sort of liberation, you guys came about the name IKA.All i can tell you is you may be Ika or Shout Ika till next year, what you are is Igbo, igbo man from delta state. However,You may deny being igbo, its not a problem for me cos i am used to hearing such but one thing i certainly know is that not all Ika share the same opinion with you no matter how you fold and unfold your arguments. So in the End,ethnic crisis in ika will continue to loom. One more thing, ika can never be an ethnic group rather its a subgroup of igbo. Please can you tell me the Full names of your OBI OF OWA cos i read where his name was written as "Emmanuel Onyike Efeizomor"(Onyike also a Bini name??).. |
AGBOTAEN,PLEASE TELL US YOUR OBI OF OWA'S FIRST NAME? |
agbotaen: the picture is the recent weeding picture of the obi of owa,s daughter lynn efeizomor ,she is wearing owa traditional dress for the royal ladies and this is also for the royal idumu .this marriage took place in owa-oyibu this year 2012 , and this is in line with bini edo traditions of owa kingdom.so to ascribe only igbo traditions to owa and ika is a fallacy that cannot stand the test of time as owa and ika has both edo and igbo traditions ,thereby forming a unique seperate entity . 2. owa researchers, elders ,and members of our community know and agree that owa was founded by the bini from ikoha in ovia local government in a town called owa-ofien.by adagba and followed by ugbasogun also from benin who founded owa-ekei. 3. irrespective of whatever researchers like professor owuejeogu from ibusa who is also a friend and influence on our obi, because he was instrumental in writing some of his books, but the entire owa people set up a committe called the owa stake holders forum and they set up the history committee and they came out with a book that is very comprehensive on owa history and they found out that edo is more ancient in owa and that adagba led several binis to found owa.but later other people came , this is is well noted in the book tited ndiowa and her monarch.as this is the only book sold in owa royal palace .and this book is what formed the basis for owa website www.ndiowa.comTHIS WHOLE STORY AND BELIEF MAKES YOU SUFFER FROM IDENTITY CRISIS!!!!!!!!!!!! |
NOW AGBOTAEN>>>>HAVE YOU HEARD OF DR OLOM OKONTA ![]() IF YOU HAVE NOT HEARD,HE IS FROM ABGOR.BELOW IS ONE OF HIS COMMENTS IN THE LAST INTERVIEW HE GRANTED.EXCERPTSIkaworld: What is your plan for the future? Dr. Okonta: As the saying goes, man proposes, but God disposes. I believe that man is the arbiter of his own misfortune. I believe in God, but also I believe in man; because man has caused a lot of problems that were not the intention of God. For instance, man caused all the under-development problems all over Nigeria. It was man that turned off light everyday in Nigeria, not God. It was man that left all our roads and structures dilapidated; it was man that looted our treasury to the Swiss Bank; it was man that left our hospitals with incompetent doctors and unsafe environment. The list goes on. I have several ideas going through my mind regarding what the future holds for me at this point in my life. I have practiced many years as a scholar-practitioner and solved community problems as a Civil Engineer, as a Professor, as a computer Business Owner, and now I would like to give back to the community. By so doing, I would help to solve or at least, to alleviate some of the society-problems enunciated above. I also would like to point out that I am currently working with Diasporan Organizations such as CISA (Council of Igbo States in the Americas) whose objectives include working with and actualizing the D3 Initiative propounded by Governor Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan. As humbly as could possibly represent, I would like to report that I was recently (last week) appointed as the DSG (Speaker of the House) in charge of Igbo Assembly in the Diaspora. I am proposing to the Board of Presidents the following Projects this fiscal year (2010): 1. Free Medical Mission to Asaba, Agbor, Onitsha, and Issele-uku. 2. Actualization of the Delta Diasporan Direct (D3) Initiative proposed by Dr. Uduaghan 3. Education, Training and Counseling Mission to Delta and Imo States. I am humbled and trying my level best to let the Almighty God use my knowledge and experience to alleviate human suffering. agbotaen: 1. igbo propagandist who are sepecialists on ika and owa history ,have you researched into the origin of igbos ?@@@AGBOTAEN...THIS IS A COMMENT MADE BY YOUR FELLOW IKA IN A IKA FORUM(WEBSITE) it pisses me off when i see and hear some of my ika compatriots turn simple logic upside down simply to suite an ill-defined preconceived notion. the names of our villages, fathers, and great-grand fathers, etc. are ibo names. our language is ibo. we communicate even if with some effort with all manner of ibo 'strangers' from anywhere without first having to learn their dialet. we do not speak edo except it is learnt, despite the proximity. apart from written records, the first and authentic factor that idenfifies a group of people with another group is the language. other historical factors could be distorted for several reasons. i do not share in this defeatist notion of shamelessly denying our roots. any meaningful gain? as an ekwuoma man, i am an ibo from delta state, simple. |
AGBOTAEN,PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FACT YOUR OBI OF OWA WORE BENIN TRADITIONAL REGALIA DURING HIS CORONATION DIDNT MEAN HE IS EDO OR BINI DESCENDANT.ALL THOSE ARE BORROWED CULTURE FROM THE BINIS.REMEMBER THAT THE BRITISH IMPOSED BINI LEADERSHIP TO PEOPLE IN YOUR AREA ESPECIALLY AGBOR WHICH THE PEOPLE DIDNT LIKE.HOWEVER DURING THOSE TIMES,BINI HAD THIS GREAT INFLUENCE WITH THEIR KINGDOM THAT MANY WESTERN IGBO LEADERS WANTED TO HAVE A KINGDOM LIKE THAT OF THE BINI DURING THOSE YEARS AND THAT MADE MANY OBI'S TO VISIT THE BINI KINGDOM TO LEARN THEIR STYLE OF LEADERSHIP.SO WEARING BINI REGALIA DOESNT MEAN THE OBI IS A BINI DESCENDANT. |
@SONY.....didnt know you are this retarded. What do you know about IDUMU other than what Silly Anti Igbo bigots like you wrote about IDUMU.Maybe you do not know,i have a friend who is from Umunede and he is right here with me as i post this.Idiot he calls you from here!! |
One more Thing AGBOTAEN,Following your line of reasoning, are African-Americans Africans? Recall it took African-Americans over 400 years to finally realize that they are actually Africans in America. They struggled with similar ethnic identity conundrum and went through several “name changes” over the centuries, from Negro all the way to Colored”, before it finally dawned on them that if they were to represent who they truly were with a name, the correct name must represent Africans placed in America; hence, “African-Americans.” According to Malcom X, “if a chicken laid eggs in an oven you don’t call the offspring biscuits.” If African-Americans that traversed the globe hundreds of years ago to an entirely different world can still call themselves Africans, why can’t the IKA or any confused Igbo man that still resides next-door retain his Igbo identity? After all, he still speaks the language and according to ethnographers, language is the premier identifier of a people’s origin and culture. |
@@@AGBOTAEN....Its rather unfortunate or fortunate that not all ika's think the way yu do.I have a lot of Ika friends who know they are igbo come rain come sunshine and you cannot tell me you dont know about them. However, you can be whatever you want to be but do not generalize what you think of yourself.NOT ALL IKA REASON THE WAY YOU DO AND FOR THAT REASON YOU SHOULD NOT SPEAK FOR THE ENTIRETY OF IKA's.YOUR TYPE ARE THE ONES BRINGING DIVISION TO THE PEOPLE OF IKA.DR KUNIRUM OSIA IS ALSO YOUR TYPE.ALL THESE ANTI IGBO BIGOTS!!!!. |
agbotaen: 1. most igbo people on this net are just simply ignorant of many things ,the red cap is not for igbo people alone and does not symbolise igbo as many igbnorant igbo will want to believe. the colour of royalty in benin and ika area is red , we call it ododo, and as such many groups in edo and ika wear it ,chiefs in afemai in edo state wear red cap, chiefs and kings in ishan and ika wear it too.@@@@@@@@AGBOTAEN....READ BELOW Messages Message # Search: Advanced Messages Help Topic List < Prev Topic | Next Topic > TRADITIONAL RULERS URGE UNITY AMONG NDIGBO Updated < Prev Next > Posted By: Offline presidentasa Mon Mar 22, 2010 5:37 pm | Options Mar 22, 2010 12:10:38 AM, ogenendiigbo@yahoogroups.com wrote: Attention: Fellow Anioma Indigenes. Uninformed, unsuspecting and gullible Anioma sons and daughters, especially those in diaspora have been bamboozled by Dr. Kunirum Osia's "Trojan Horse" article on "Who We (Anioma people) Are" . On arrival at Sam Mbakwe Airport , Owerri members of Igbo World Assmbly, IWA, ASA World, Council of Igbo States of America , CISA, and European Igbo Council, EIC, drove straight to the residence of the Chairman of South East Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Cletus Ilomuanya, the Obi of Obinugwu.. Eze Ilomuanya and members of the delegation led by Dr. Nwachukwu Anakwenze exchanged views on how Ndigbo associations in the diaspora could be more effective in projecting Ndi-Igbo affairs. To this end, the delegation and the traditional ruler agreed to reinforce the special communication channel earlier established between the two groups. Eze Ilomuanya enjoined Ndigbo associations in the diaspora to continue to work for peace and unity among Ndigbo at home and in the diaspora. The traditional Ruler observed that the two year tenure system for headship of Ndigbo associations at home and abroad was short and inadequate. He noted that before anyone could settle down in the position, the person’s tenure had run out and “the trend was militating against the ability of the person to be effective in embarking on activities to project Ndi-Igbo. The Royal Father observed that the conduct of the February 6 gubernatorial election in Anambra state was exemplary and worthy of emulation thoughout the length and breath of Nigeria . Eze Ilomuanya commended NdiAnambra for making a right choice by re-electing Mr. Obi as Governor of Anambra State adding that Mr. Obi’s election was “akin to putting a round peg in a round holeâ€. Thursday March 18 The delegation visited the Imeobi palace of the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe, Agbogidi. The traditional ruler expressed delight at the tremendous improvement of the security situation in the state. Igwe Achebe, who is the Chairman of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, stressed the need for the State Government and private entrepreneurs to establish more industries in the state to provide employment for the teeming youths of the state. The Royal Father commended ASA-World and IWA for their role in fostering unity among Ndigbo. Friday March 19 Two highly placed traditional Rulers in Delta State, the Asagba of Asaba, Professor J.C. Edozien CFR; JP., and the Obi of Owa in Ika North Local Government, Dr. E.O. Efeizomor II OON; JP., have stressed the need for Ndigbo, no matter the geopolitical location in which they are based, to be united in the quest for Ndi-Igbo to again become relevant in Nigeria in particular and the world in general. Professor Edozien made the remarks when he granted audience to a delegation of IWA, ASA World, CISA and EIC. The traditional Ruler, a former academician, who received the delegation with a retinue of his fully attired members of cabinet, said that although Asaba people were located in the south south geopolitical zone, “most of my subjects hail from Nteje in Oyi Local Government of Anambra Stateâ€. Professor Edozien noted that "nothing could be achieved by Ndigbo unless unity prevailed among members of the ethnic group irrespective of the geopolitical zone in which they are basedâ€. He appealed to IWA to work assiduously to resolve the crisis in World Igbo Congress, WIC, and, thereafter "IWA, WIC, ASA World, CISA, EIC and other Ndi-Igbo associations in the diaspora should pool their resources together to uplift the welfare of Ndi-Igboâ€. The Asagba expressed delight over the efforts of IWA, ASA World, CISA and EIC to project, through the museum on Igbo Village to be opened on September 17, 2010 in Stanton , Virginia in the United States of America , the contributions of Ndi-Igbo to one of the major civilizations in modern history. Friday March 19 On his own part, the Obi of Owa in Ika North Local Government of Delta State, Dr. E.O. Efeizomor II OON; J.P., said that research had traced the origin of Ika people to the Nris of Anambra State. Dr. Efeizomor II who has been on the throne for fifty years, said that what was significant about the research was that it was conducted by Ika intellectuals. The traditional Ruler said that although the “Ikas were making spirited efforts to identify and relate with Ndi-Igbos in the South East geopolitical zone, the efforts were not being reciprocated, hence a few Ikas have reservations over their affinity with Ndi-Igboâ€. The Obi of Owa presented to members of the IWA delegation a book to buttress his assertion that Ikas were, according to him, “proud Ndi-Igbo of Nri ancestryâ€. Dr. Efeizomor II said that the entire Ika traditional institution was happy to participate in the Igbo Day that was held in Owerri on September 29, 2009 adding that “Ika people look forward to joining our brothers and sisters in taking part in more Ndi-Igbo activities in futureâ€. Friday March 19, 2010 The traditional ruler of Agulu, HRH Innocent E. Obodowkor expressed delight that Ndigbo were beginning to be united. Eze Obodowkor said that before the advent of Mr. Peter Obi’s government four years ago, NdiAnambra were behaving like an ethnic group that was cursed but “ I am happy that with the election of one of my subjects to the exalted office in Awka, things have started to change for the betterâ€. The Anambra Governor is an indigene of Agulu. - end - Stories by Chief Tony Idigo J.P., Ikolo Aguleri. |
@agbotaen...You are very silly with this Ika this,Ika that statements. You dont speak for the whole of ika people. You can speak for yourself and not generalize your statements okay. |
duality: are you from anioma? you seem so interested in its creation. and why do you want it in the south east.is it because of their language. i think the aniomas have mixed culture looking at it holistically.@duality,I am from Aniocha South in delta state and with Culture and language anioma should be added to the South East. What you could see in western igbo(anioma)region is a bit borrowed culture from the neighbouring south south state.Thank you |
Have you not heard that the Igbanke people are fighting tooth and nail to join delta state or the proposed anioma state? They are heavily marginalized in Edo to the extent that these igbanke people started changing their igbo names to benin names all to survive. When it comes to electioneering period they are heavily used to rig election and so on and when the aim is achieved, these real edo politicians disengage and never remember them because they are not seen as real edo people. The Statement Oba of Benin made about Igbanke people is political.Chukwuemeka Esogbue on his own part used to fight for the unity among igbos in diaspora but lately the quest for anioma state has made him to divert his focus into denying being igbo. His fathers name is chukwudumebi and the father fought for Biafra and grandfathers name is Ozoemezie.Chief (Prof) Augustine Onwuyalim Moses Esogbue is also a member of the family. In December 2010, Esogbue was nominated for the Igbo Legendary Lectures/Awards, which honour Igbo legends who have distinguished themselves and helped to redefine Igbo consciousness and collective aspiration of the people. The awards were held on 29 December 2010 (12.00pm) at Nike Lake Resort Enugu, Enugu State, Nigeria.EMeka is a full blooded Igbo man but i wont be surprised if he decides to become something else.So nobody in the anioma area should speak on behalf of the people as many people in this region know they are pure IGBO.where the problem of identity crisis mainly emanates from those communities sharing same boundary with edo people.some of them are still confused there as not all believe in this benin this, bini that.Thats all politics for you though. |

Andre Uweh: The above imbecilic post is very irrelevant here.Very Imbesilic.Even the Edo people refer to igbake people as igbos and not even ika.The name Ishiekwene is igbo if you dont know.Ika Ika!!!person no go hear word....Rubbish |
