[quote author=pazienza post=130402178]Yes it is. The SE Senate and house of representatives should now have a consultation meeting with those in Delta North including Igbanke, to work on actualising this noble plan. Ohaneze Ndiigbo should be the ones to anchor this meeting and make it happen. The Orlu state agenda is good, but bringing Anioma back home( reunited with kin and kiths in SE) where they belong, and allowing the minorities to move capital of the remnants of Delta state to Warri, is a win-win situation for all involved.
Anioma is rich in crude oil and gas. Asaba is merging with Onitsha to form a mega metropolis. The state is brimming with human and natural resources and is very much viable.
Ndiigbo let's push and make this happen![/quote

Business › Re: How Binance P2P Contributes To The Plummeting Naira Value by olisaokere(m): 10:14am On Feb 22, 2024 |
jeejo: I understand that what I am about to explain will earn me insults from a selected few individuals because the same culprits are active here on Nairaland, so I am ready for that as well.
If you go to Binance P2P, there is a heavy manipulation going on there, and from my deductions, most of the big Binance P2P Merchants are united in carrying out this manipulation. Some of them even have over 2 Million dollars worth of USDT in their Binance P2P Funding which begs the question whether these people are truly Nigerians or probably foreigners making money from destroying the Nigerian economy.
Many people might not understand the strategy these merchants use, therefore, I will try to break it down.
This is how the manipulation works:
1. Lets assume that the Naira to Dollar is currently exchanging at the Parallel market for 1,500 Naira. On Binance P2P, the group of Merchants will create multiple fake ads claiming that they will buy your USDT for 1,700 Naira(way above the parallel market price). I call these ads "fake" because they will set a minimum limit above 5Million naira, which means if you want to sell your USDT to them at this exorbitant rate that they created, you must be selling a usdt value worth over 5Million Naira at once. This strategy works in filtering out majority of average Nigerians that want to sell their USDT to these Merchants. Meaning these fake ads will remain at the top of the p2p "sell" section for as long as these group of Merchants want it to remain. And if by chance someone who has enough USDT to meet the minimum limit decides to sell to these merchants, they will simply cancel the trade, and create another ad.
2. Now because these group of merchants have filled the P2P "sell" section with these fake ads claiming to buy your USDT at an exorbitant rate of 1,700 NGN, they have automatically shifted the P2P price of Naira to USD to 1,700 Naira, and now they will be selling their USDT to the public under the "buy" section above 1,700 Naira. Now - unlike the fake ads they created with a minimum limit that is above 5Million Naira to discourage sellers for selling to them at this high rate - when they are selling their USDT at this already manipulated price, you will find limit as low as 4,000 Naira because they want to sell to the Public at the exorbitant price they created.
Binance P2P is the new AbokiFx where BDC operators get their current price of Dollar from. The fake price originating from there is in turn used by the BDC operators to set their Dollar selling prices even without any corresponding demand. But the interesting part is that these BDC operators won't buy from you at any rate close to the exorbitant price they are selling the dollar to you. Here in Benin city, even though the parallel market price of Naira is above 1,600 Naira, the Abokis hardly buy your dollar for above 1,500 Naira but they will sell to you only above 1,700 Naira.
Some people might argue that if Binance is to blame, how come the official exchange rate is now above 1,500NGN to 1 USD? The answer to that is simple. Each time the rate in the Parallel market moves up, the CBN is forced to also adjust official rates upwards in order to close the gap between both windows or else the black market rate will be too wide that it will create an irresistible opportunity for round-tripping.
There is a huge rot in the entire BDC system in Nigeria that I don't think this CBN governor has any idea how deep it really goes. I’d it only in Nigeria that trades bitcoin?why hasn’t this affected other countries too? |

money121: Nigerian Man Escapes Through The Bush During Wedding Ceremony In Imo State Over Too Much Billing
There was a mild drama as bridegroom escaped through the bush out of engagement ceremony in Imo State due to extortion.
According to Igwe Chibueze Ogadimma who shared the post, he paid N1,500,000 to cater for food, tents, chairs and a public address system.
He was also made to set aside N100,000 as the bride price that the two families had agreed on.
Biobelemoye David was asked to add N50,000 to the bride price because he had already impregnated the girl.
He was slapped with a N10,000 fine for making a detour to the wrong path and ending up in a different homestead other than the girl's.
He was also asked to pay N15,000 to appease the elders who had become tired of waiting for his arrival.
Drama however ensued when twelve girls covered in loose robes from head to toe were paraded before Biobelemoye David and he was asked to guess who his fiancée was.
He pointed at the wrong woman and that led to yet another fine of N15,000.
The decisive moment specifically was when the elders demanded for a refund of the total sum of N850,000 to repair the father's old car that knocked engine
Fuming with anger which he tried his best to hide, Biobelemoye David excused himself to visit a nearby bush to urinate and disappeared!
He switched off his phone and was last seen at a driving heading to Bayelsa State from Imo

They talked about the number of Cows killed at the funeral as a Nigerian record deserving Guiness book of record attention whole claiming other Nigerians, most especially Yorubas, were "jealous" of their messiah 'businessman' Obi Cubana
Same Obi Cubana is today laying very low after being fingered as a drug boss, abetted likely by 'supercop' Abba Kyari, that several drug dealers deposited cash into his account.
Igbos have no humility and will never learn. But for the sleaze of Nigeria, Obi Cubana would likely be incarcerated for 50 years in a USA or UK prison. Today he is the icon of Igbo 'developer wealth' they gaslight other Nigerians with.

Romance › Re: Why I May Not Marry A Nigerian Man (opinion) by olisaokere(m): 10:04am On Nov 11, 2023 |
Persephone1: [i]"Marry a typical Nigerian Man at your own peril"
When I type these words, it's not from a place of hate towards men ( I don't hate anybody) It is from careful analysis of marriages to Nigerian Men which mostly lack genuine love, empathy and kindness. Nigerian Marriages are mostly driven by "needs" and "means" to an end. Too systematic and unnatural and the one with the highest bargaining chip gets the most benefit.
Our mothers didn't teach us enough about Men. They didn't know either until they got married, unfortunately they are still learning about Men too. That is why the popular saying "Ile oko ile eko ni" (Your husband house is a school) is usually the soothing balm to unfavourable experiences a wife has with her husband. One question I always ask myself when I hear these words as parting words of advice for young wife is. Does that mean she is getting married into a strange, unknown and possibly unfavourable world? Why represent her husband as an unending course? And will she ever graduate and be relieved of painful lessons?. Ask these women these questions and they will shake their heads in mockery but the truth is, They weren't taught enough about the Men they are getting married to. How would they when they didn't know who they are either. To understand another person there must be a certain level of self awareness you have reached yourself. This way you have enough level of intelligence to be a perfect judge of character. But when a woman believe all she needs to be is a good cook and good konji reliever then all she will seek is a man who has Kitchen and bed.
Men are the worst in this joke of an institution. Configured to believe all they need to posses is Financial ability to provide. The upbringing of the typical Nigerian Man is very very wrong. Trained with little to no empathy, kindness, self care, sense of belonging, self love but burdened with sense of responsibility brought up like a robot to "provide" only. Most Nigerian men are robotic minded, unable to connect emotionally without aide yet this men are expected to naturally see their brides as a part of themselves. Wishful thinking if you ask me. And when some men luckily achieve this, the society (Men and Women) mock him. Aside this, they don't readily know what they want and are easily tossed by the society.
We create a society devoid of emotional engagement but want the benefits emotions birth. Compassion and affections brings liberty, a man who lacks these will see his wife as his slave and property, he gets to do with her what he seem best and not what is good for her. We really have a long way to go as a Society.
Nigerian Men make terrible horsebands Go and marry Oyibo first.then you come out with your analysis with Nigerian Men |

Crime › Re: I Think I Might Have A Case Of Money Laundering by olisaokere(m): 3:21pm On Oct 03, 2023 |
Nairaland1stson: I have suspicion that someone wants to use my account to launder money. A lady visited my shop demanding to purchase goods worth millions of naira she was so much in a hurry or desperate for someone who intends to perform such transactions. She was accompanied by a man she claimed to be her sick husband, two kids, and another young man. She claimed she needed to perform the transaction as soon as possible so she could travel down to a neighboring state for her husband's treatment.
There was no much negotiations as it seemed she was the one begging for the goods to be sold to her. After confirmation she said I should bring my POS machine so she could make a transfer, I already had suspicions on her so I told her i didn't have one and besides who would want to perform transactions worth millions of naira with a POS machine mode of payment. I suggested that she heads to the bank or make a transfer from her mobile app, which she shrugged off immediately like it was not even an option.
The young man with her insisted I get a POS vendor so that the transaction can be made which I declined and told them that there were many around the vicinity that they can go get one if they wish to. The young man left and returned a few minutes later with one, when they arrived the woman suddenly said she was scared and needed to invite the person who referred her to our place. She called this person and he arrived shortly, he was someone known to us in the past but not well known. She then requested that I get another POS vendor, which I suggested that they should get back the previous vendor they invited earlier. The young man went back again and returned with the vendor. The woman gave the vendor a debit card, which the vendor tried pulling the whole money at once, but it didn't go.(exceeded limit) The POS vendor then proceeded to split the money and it was successful. So she was only able to make part payment for the goods.
They were about to leave when I reminded them that I was supposed to issue a receipt for the part payment deposited into my account. Which I did later, and they left. Fast forward to the evening same day, she called me claiming that her husband's health was demanding much, and she wouldn't be in need of what she purchased earlier that I would have to refund her immediately.
What rose my suspicions on them are:
1. The acclaimed husband of hers, whom she claimed had stroke as at when they visited the shop, I saw him earlier when they alighted from a Keke napep which dropped them across the road and he was walking very fine but when they began to approach my shop he began to limp like he couldn't walk properly and the woman held his hand for assistance (they didn't know that I had seen him earlier walking properly without any form of aid) when they were at the shop, the acclaimed husband who had stroke sat and crossed his legs, is that even possible for someone suffering from a stroke?
2. Why would they insist on only POS mode of payment (for a transaction worth millions)
3. Why would a woman whose acclaimed husband is sick with stroke decide to perform such a transaction (her pirioty should be making sure her husband is taken care of medically)
4. I know you must be wondering what it is she bought, but I will not be disclosing such for privacy reasons (Hint: it is a single item)
5. She was incoherent when I asked for the name and address that would be added to the receipt (it seemed like she was guessing the name and address)
What are your thoughts? Should I refund the money immediately, if I will, what are the measures to be taken to ensure I am on a safe side Go to your bank, request that your bank send the money back to the account it came from |
