Fresh reports reaching out this morning says the battle between Harrysong and his estranged label, Five Star Music is now a full blown war. An eye witness who was present at the Zone 2 Police Command, Onikan, Lagos (the same station Skales slept overnight back in June 2016 when he had issues with his label, Baseline) yesterday tells us Harrysong was re-arrested alongside his manager, Desmond Ike on fresh criminal charges. It was also gathered that Harrysong and his manager spent the night in police custody and may be charged to court this morning. ‘They were re arrested on fresh criminal charges of fraud, forgery and impersonation. I heard them saying they forged E-Money’s signature to collect money from a brand’ the source said. Efforts however made to reach out to Five Star for comments were declined. We’ve also tried to reach Harrysong, his number has been switched off since last night while his manager, Desmond didn’t respond to his calls http://www.metronaija.com/2017/02/harrysong-and-manager-spend-night-in.html cc: lalasticlala mynd44 |

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ekiti Command, is monitoring and raiding cyber café in the state found selling fake JAMB registration forms to unsuspecting people. NSCDC’s State Commandant, Mr Donatus Ikemefuna, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday that the command had arrested four persons in connection with the illegal act. Ikemefuna condemned the defrauding of unsuspecting parents, guardians and wards by some young men through the internet. NAN reports that the operation was made possible by a synergy between the Corps and JAMB to monitor every operational activity of JAMB, including provision of security coverage during examination. He said that the suspects were arrested in different locations in the state. Ikemefuna, therefore, advised Nigerians to be careful with cyber café and their owners that were selling fake JAMB forms and printing fake admission letters. He also urged them to patronise registered and accredited JAMB registration centres and report any cyber café or their owners involved in the sharp practice to the NSCDC. The Imo State Government is set to launch Imo Air to be operated by Dana Airline, in a partnership deal. Dana Airline Communications Manager, Mr Kingsley Ezenwa, made this known in a statement in Lagos on Tuesday. According to Ezenwa, Gov. Rochas Okorocha of Imo said at Sam Mbakwe Airport, Owerri during the launch of the partnership that the contract will last for a 10-year period. “It is borne out of our desire to increase business activities in Imo, improve tourism drive, diversify its economy and provide employment opportunities for our citizens. “We have no Air Operator Certificate and that is why we approached one of the leading airlines in Nigeria to manage this service for us. “We believe that our partnership with Dana Air to operate Imo Air is a step in the right direction to open Imo State to the world,” Okorocha said. Okorocha also said the Imo International Cargo is in the offing as part of the initiatives to open up Southeast to importers and exporters. He said this would reduce the over -reliance on Lagos, Kano and other international airports for the export and import of goods into the country. “This initiative is no doubt a boost for the Southeast economic liberation struggle,’’ Okorocha said in the statement. The Accountable Manager of Dana air, Mr Obi Mbanuzuo, said the airline was delighted with the partnership. “It is a well thought-out decision by the state government’’. “As you may be aware, Dana Air is the only domestic airline to have undergone an operational audit conducted by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and its foreign partners- The Flight Safety Group. ” Also, in our determination to meet the highest global aviation safety standards, Dana Air recently concluded its IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) with a strong desire to move on to the next stage soon. “Our continuous investment in human capital development, training and retraining of staff to meet the challenges of the industry has culminated in a dedicated, loyal, meticulous, pragmatic and highly motivated workforce. “This has also been the secret of our consistency and steady growth in the industry, despite the multiplying operational challenges that domestic airlines have to grapple with,” the statement quoted Mbanuzuo as saying. According to him, Dana air, having flown over 4.5 million passengers in the last eight years of its operations, is one of Nigeria’s leading airlines with over 27 daily flights from Lagos to Abuja, Port Harcourt, Owerri and Uyo. The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC on Sunday blamed oil marketers in the country for the excruciating scarcity of kerosene and Liquefied Petroleum Gas, LPG, also known as cooking gas. The price of cooking gas had shot up from about N3,500 in most places before the Christmas holidays, to a minimum of N5,000 for a 12.5 kilogramme cylinder last week, while kerosene which went for as much as N250 per litre is now sold for a minimum of N500 per litre. Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Department of the NNPC, Mr. Ndu Ughamadu, in an interview with newsmen, said the oil marketers were responsible for the scarcity and the hike in the prices of kerosene and cooking gas. He denied that the scarcity was a ploy by the NNPC to push for an increase in the prices of cooking gas, kerosene, petrol or any other petroleum product. Ughamadu said the NNPC had been consistent in bringing in petroleum products into the country, but its efforts were not being complemented by the marketers, who he said had refused to bring in products. He noted that the LPG market was fully deregulated and though the NNPC was trying in this regard, it could not compel the marketers to bring in the product, especially as it was not a regulator. http://www.metronaija.com/2017/01/nnpc-reveals-those-behind-gas-kerosene.html cc: lalasticlala mynd44 |

Arch Bishop Ignatius Kaigama, the President, Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), has frowned at the various acts of unjustifiable killings in the country. He said that the evolving culture of brutality and wanton destruction to human lives in the country had become alarming and unparalleled in the history of the nation. The president, in a statement by Rev. Fr. Chris Anyanwu, Director of Communications, Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, in Abuja on Thursday, called on Nigerians to have a rethink with regards to wastage of human lives. Kaigama said that taking human lives just because it suited ones religious, ethnic, political or even criminal aspirations was unjustifiable and should not be the practice in a civilised world. According to him, human lives are dignified and sacred and should not be sacrificed as if they are mere animal lives for pleasure or celebration. “How can human lives be so casually terminated with pictures of dead bodies, decapitated or disfigured corpses shown in the social media. “What is mind-boggling is the seeming insensitivity to the killings. Does it not trouble us that the international community is watching Nigeria with great apprehension. “The scriptures say that God created man and woman and asked them to increase and multiply and fill the earth, not to depopulate it by act of violence. “The manner lives are being taken right now in Southern Kaduna and many other troubled areas of our nation is tantamount to a declaration of war against helpless and innocent Nigerians.” He noted that people had rough and tough times when innocent Nigerians lost their lives as it was experienced in Agatu, Madagali, Gwoza, Yobe, Plateau, Taraba, Nasarawa, Anambra, Abia and now Southern Kaduna. Kaigama said these impacted negatively on the younger generation growing with the impression that life was cheap and could be taken away at the whims of anyone or any group that so desired. “For how long will killings, associated with demented or irrational reasoning continue to be witnessed, especially in Southern Kaduna before a concerted effort is made to stop such carnage permanently. “When will one Nigerian life matter or must people be killed in thousands or millions before we realise the humongous damage done to our people. “We are becoming so sadistic that we do not see that such brutality creates a culture of impunity, chaos, anarchy and doom; as if the needless killing by Boko Haram is not enough. “A culture is developing that does not seem to know the difference between the lives of human beings and that of cows, goats, rams, chickens.’’ The clergyman commended the security agents and urged them not to see the weapons they were using as licence to molest those they were supposed to protect. He urged the Federal Government not to procrastinate in proffering well-thought out responses to act of savagery in the country.
