Politics › Buhari Set To Name Chief Of Staff, SGF, Other Aides Today by oloriooko(op): 7:32pm On Jul 30, 2015
By Emmanuel Aziken, Political Editor

LAGOS — THE shape and faces to the Muhammadu Buhari administration will begin to unfold today baring any last minute change of mind by the president, Vanguard has learnt. Among those to be named are the Chief of Staff, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF and personal staff of the president and the vice-president.

Yesterday, the president requested the Senate to approve 15 special advisers for him. Meanwhile, the delay in the announcement of senior officials of the new administration, it was learnt yesterday, flowed from the delay by the former officials of Goodluck Jonathan administration in forwarding their handover notes to the transition committee constituted by Buhari.

Sources close to the President and the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, disclosed yesterday that the president would make known the senior officials of his government today. Besides the Chief of Staff and SGF, other officials to be named may include the Special Adviser to the National Assembly, Political Adviser among senior aides of the president.

“The announcements will be made today baring a last minute change of decision,” a source privy to the development told Vanguard last night even as he added that the president’s scheduled trip to Niger and Chad may be the only factors that may delay the announcement. Meanwhile, a senior associate of the president yesterday traced the delay in the announcement of the president’s senior aides to the delay in the transmission of the handover notes by the Jonathan officials to the transition team constituted by Buhari ahead of his inauguration.

“All we have been doing since Friday is poring over these notes. This is because you need to know the position of things before you delegate the appropriate personnel to any establishment of government,” a source privy to the ongoing developments told Vanguard last night.

But my question to our law enforcement outfits is this: must you physically abuse someone under investigation who has not been proven guilty?
Physical abuse of suspects is inhumane, barbaric and unprofessional.

"Change" does not condone such brutality and unprofessionalism

Politics › Re: NIMASA Gets Another Acting DG by oloriooko(m): 8:35am On Jul 25, 2015
My questions about this hoolabaloo are these:
* who directed that most senior officer should take over? Did that person tried finding out before giving such order?
* where was this Hausa guy when that order came? Maybe he was not at work that day.
* why should the Hausa guys protest overturn the appointment of the Igbo guy whom the presidency had earlier recognised?

I think the Hausa guy took advantage of northern rule to stage a protest and he got the attention of whoever was at the top. Furthermore, seem the fight for seniority has been on between these two guys for long, it only came to fore as a result of this issue.

PMB needs to checkmate these incessant reversal of decisions, its not painting this administration in good light. You cannot be "baba go slow" and make such unpardonable mistakes.

God bless Nigeria

Today 24 July 2015 programme

1. President Brekete family Ordinary President Ahmed Isah (OPAI) was offered Ambassadorial position in the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) by the VC Prof Vincent but OPAI requested in exchange for the ambassadorial honour, scholarship at NOUN for a girl that was given out by the parents as slave to one aunty. The VC obliged and promised full scholarship for the girl but insisted OPAI will still be given the honour at NOUN.

2. OPAI called the IG Police about widows of uniformed officers who were constantly harrased by some CPs asking them to pack out of the barracks. The IG, despite being in a meeting answered OPAI and ordered that no widow should be ejected from the barracks.

3. OPAI asked for donations for the WOF oil worker who have been in Abuja for months suffering while trying to secure their termination benefits. He said the Brekete family will be at the Unity Fountain by Hilton hotel between 10am and 12 noon today to collect donations for the feeding and accommodation of well over 400 workers of WOF pending the resolution of their matter with CBN.

OPAI also took calls from Nigerians in diaspora who need help especially with Nigeria consular offices who have been reported to be irresponsible and rude to nigerians abroad.

This radio program is a laudable idea that should be supported and encouraged.

Buhari answering questions and many getting excited or abusive brothers me.
We must grow beyond sentiments and be objective and firm in supporting our leaders.

This is not a one-on-one interview so we expect intelligent answers from him.
We expect less of talk and more of work, he must learn to work his talk.

PMB must stay focused, never allow distractors and sentiments derail his good intentions and plans for this country.

God bless Nigeria
