Some Nigerians just don't feel ashamed cos this says that the election didn't go the way they expected it.

how would they have called for immediate cancellation while the election was ongoing? Dont you know vote counting and collation are part of the election process?

Jarus, can tell us a bit more?Are the new company planning to expand production? Are there concerns amongst staffs of a possible retrenchment? Are the new company labour friendly? Do they process driven? What are the in house feelers?

I was surprised this piece of news was not thoroughly analysed here yesterday despite someone dropping it here.

I think Mele Kyari is living up to his reputation as Mr. Transparency. The very day he was announced, I spoke with a colleague that had been in meetings with him before and he confirmed he is a very good yet humble man (with no airs around him). The press also wrote positive things about him. I remember The Cable writing about his antecenents as a champion of transparency. I remember the DG of NEITI, who is not knowm for frivolity, also applauding the appointment.

It appears the guy truly means business. This reorganization is a welcome development. NPDC needs a total overhaul. Starting the restructuring with NPDC is a good idea by the GMD.

Overhaul by simply reshuffling the cards internally within the organisation? NNPC has never really been up there compared to her peers like Saudi Aramco, Petronas and Petrobas. It is generally perceived to be a very inefficient and wasteful organization, mainly due to the fact that is a fully Nigerian govt driven organization with little or no goals or target to attain. No wonder, the refineries have been comatose for years and no one has lost his/her job over that. Unlike private organizations, there is little emphasis on grooming leadership /management staff based on merit or appraisal. It will surprise you that most correspondences / memos within NNPC are still via paper rather than electronic! How archaic can that be?

It is difficult, if not impossible to produce a well groomed 21st century manager in such an environment that can turn around the fortunes of any NNPC subsidiary. NNPC system makes it hard to grow well groomed and technical managers.

The only way NNPC can truly restructure for enhanced performance is to be open to genuine structural re-organization. More importantly, NNPC must be ready to hire senior management staff from outside the organization who have years of experience working in performance driven corporations. Such people should be given the free hand to inject new ideas and reinvigorate the team spirit. Anything short is nepotism, politics or tribalism under the guise of merit.

I can assure you that nothing will change, with the current NNPC structure backed by law. It's all steam but no movement.

Look well. The distress call which is the main emergency number is short na. Other categories are not really emergencies.

I mentioned having hope as long as regret mail has not come, some persons here talked like being hopeful in this case means stupidity. I said it before that they are looking for specific skills and If the persons already interviewed don’t have the skills, they will contact more regardless the absolute cut off. They can come down by one to five percent. Be hopeful as long as there is no regret mail. It’s not batches but skills being sought for.

I had said it earlier that it is in batches. I know the number if engineers Exxonmobil intends and the number of interviews conducted so far.
