Mikecold: Attahiru the real Chief of army staff would not be going for these meetings just like he didn't go to zamfara.
But he can send the only handpicked Southerner in their midst just for publicity like eneche while they would be wrecking their jihad fulani controls from behind scene Your sheer ignorance is alarming...blinded by ethnicity and hate. |

mansakhalifa: I said it here:
He is going to come the EPL thinking that it is anything like what obtains over in Spain. But then, at some point, he is definitely going to realise that the EPL, on its own, is a different beast entirely. Untamable.
To be honest, considering his age and other factors, I do not see him doing any sort of magic in the Premier League.
The only advantage that can come out of such a transaction is purely of the financial kind. City will definitely make loads of bucks from signing that guy for sure. Think about all the branding, sponsorships and merchandising that could possibly follow a player of that calibre to the Etihad to start with. They won't even have to stress themselves.
But on the field of play... sorry, I don't see him doing anything special cos the factors in the EPL will curb quite a number of his excesses.
Just my stray thoughts. You need to focus on profit and not revenue. It will cost a load of money to sign and pay Messi. Man City may have to break the bank to get Messi signed. Did you see the recent revelation of contract with Barcelona? Why do you think clubs tend to offload players to be able to balance the books? Yes, he might see some increase in revenue due to additional merchandise, branding and publicity but then these might not be able to cover for the cost of having Messi in Barcelona. Man City will most likely gain in publicity branding and social media influence while hoping to win additional trophies. But money wise, I doubt sincerely. |

Anyway, it's really a good one for the Yorubas not to have been sidelined in the scheme of things.
After all, Nigeria belongs to all. Wrong!

Politics › Buhari Appoints Samuel Adebayo As Chief Of Defence Intelligence Agency by olowoba2(op): 7:03pm On Feb 13, 2021 |
The President, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has appointed Maj. Gen. Samuel Adebayo as the Chief of Defence Intelligence Agency.
Adebayo, who took over the leadership of the DIA from the Deputy Chief of Defence Intelligence, Maj. Gen. Gbolahan Oyefesobi, on Friday, promised to enhance the technical capacity of the agency through the acquisition of intelligence enablers.
Adebayo, who was the Director of Army Intelligence before his appointment, solicited the support and cooperation of the DIA staff to help in fulfilling the mandate of the intelligence agency.
According to him, so much has been achieved by the Armed Forces of Nigeria in dealing with security issues.
The new intelligence chief stated, “Security agencies are also doing their best but much more still needs to be done.
“In particular, the DIA has continued to raise the bar in the intelligence state craft and considering the achievements of the former CDI, I know that the task ahead is daunting but clearly achievable.
“I, therefore, solicit your support suggestions and advice as we settle down to work as leadership is about team work, transparency and integrity.
“I want to see a DIA with cutting edge capacity to deliver its mandate to the Nigerian people.”
Adebayo said his administration would prioritise the core intelligence efforts of the agency in support of the ongoing operations and other national engagements.
The new CDI also pledged to ensure human capacity development with priority on specialisation of staff for optimal output as well as enhancing the specialist centres of the agency to meet their full capacity.
He stated, “My vision is to raise the bar of the Defence Intelligence Agency in the security circles. We shall also deliver on the DIA mandate and enhance the technical intelligence capacity through acquisition of intelligence enablers.”
Speaking shortly before handing over the instrument of authority to the new DIA helmsman, Oyefesobi described Adebayo’s appointment as a homecoming, having worked at the DIA as a liaison officer.
He said Adebayo was well suited for the new position, noting that he could fill the “big shoes left behind by the former Chief of Defence Intelligence, Air Vice Marshal Mohammed Usman.”
Oyefesobi admonished the directors and other staff to support and cooperate with Adebayo.
The ceremony climaxed with the presentation of the handing over notes, flags and inspection of the quarter guards. https://www.google.com/amp/s/punchng.com/buhari-appoints-adebayo-defence-intelligence-chief/%3famp=1

Business › Re: Domiciliary Account Opening: Which Bank Has Best To Offer? by olowoba2: 7:40am On Dec 04, 2020 |
Cyberknight: I have domiciliary accounts with GTB and Standard Chartered. Had one with Access that I closed.
I explored Diamond and Zenith Bank's offers before I opened with Standard Chartered, and in my opinion the dom account conditions are pretty uniformly lousy all round, but GTB's is among the best of the lot, with the caveat that it depends on what you want to use the account for.
1. Diamond bank does the minimum balance bullshit and for someone like me who receives money from abroad, that's a no-no. GTB allows you to draw your account down to zero if you so wish.
2. In 14 years of operating the accounts, I've never had an issue with any of my transfers to or from the bank.
3. Their charges were OK previously even though they upped them in 2016 or thereabouts. Since I don't make many transfers out, but mainly receive, I can live with that.
4. I prefer their use of a dollar card not directly linked to your account so you first have to transfer funds into it before use. Makes it easier for me to control spending when abroad and also to check fraud to an extent. Hi sir I am in the process of opening a dom account in standard chartered bank and would prefer to have an account holder from standard chartered bank to accelerate the process. Would you be kind enough to be my referee? |

afrischolars1: If you cannot draft your statement of purpose without a professional assistance, then you may want to reconsider your decision to pursue a graduate education in Canada because a statement of purpose is apparently the easiest paper you'll be drafting as a graduate student. Do I sound like someone who can not construct proper sentences? Do you really think I have not penned down notable articles in the past? Writing an SOP is not difficult; there are countless samples on the internet I can leverage on. However the sheer amount of time it will take to wrtie and then polish it to my taste is not worth it, particularly when I can get a professional to do a first pass draft which I will later edit to my taste. I am very busy professional, thus I have very limited time to craft a well detailed SOP. I may end up taking your advice though. As a matter of fact, I will most likely write my SOPs. The |

Feex: Guys, abeg I am sorry. The lashing is too much and unexpected.
I wish everyone the very best. Wish GTs and EHs success.
I digress: Just to contribute on the ongoing debate
The oil price drop is caused by two factors - oversupply by Saudi is the highest driver (like 70% of the cause) followed by low demand due to the pandemic. Saudi has promised to push in more barrels in April so expect even lower prices in April. The next OPEC+ meeting is not likely to hold anytime soon at least until June. So expect sustained low prices till at least June. CNN has reported the pandemic may last for up to a year based on ongoing trends. Hopefully mankind will discover a vaccine before then. So oil prices is not gonna rise in weeks.
Even without oversupply, oil prices wouldn't have gone above the 40s due to the pandemic.
Also, the cost of producing oil in Nigeria is one of the very highest in the world, between $25 and $35 depending on the area. Whoever said $15 is not familiar with the Nigerian oil industry. Nigeria is currently producing literally at a loss. Also remember that we are not able to sell our crude as we are outpriced in the international market by lower cost producers like Saudi and Russia. So Nigeria isn't making any money right now. Worse still, the ECA is almost empty. Hard times ahead. . See begging |
