knowledgeable: The reason why, I am even trying to respond to your questions is because, you sounded genuine, and truth seeking .
Listen, it's only natural for any population group whom genocide was forced upon them(millions killed with a process and tacit that have persisted from the same genocidists without any enclosure or recause) to develop a unique mind set or world view different from their genocidists period. All your questions can be found in Nigerian history/politics/economic policies/demographics/religion/tribal and etc.
You first and second questions are the same.
The Yorubas did not only put gun in Igbo peoples head to come to lagos, but committed acts of genocide to achieve the status quo as it is today. Very simple to understand. Awolowo initiated the genocide, Obasonjo completed the task by a very long history of marginalization, denieyal of sea port/international airport/no infrastructure, roads or any other federal government presence in the SE/SS after the war. For a huge Igbo population, what other options do they have, other than a pattern of migration that was forced upon them. Lagos got the spoils of war, over head bridges, flyovers, international airport/deep seaport etc.
Today, Ambode has continue from where Obasonjo stopped. Igbo land is not cursed, self evidence by increasing numbers of Igbo businessmen flying Ethiopian airlines out of Enugu at all costs. I wish I have all the time..... crying cryer...lol.. Yoruba committed genocide..... oh,was it Yorubas that also bombed that cinema in Lagos? oloribu, oloshi eyan...they will not blame their unfortunate, cursed and useless leaders, every other Nigerian is at fault except them.. alayebaje... |

Africonji: Afonja is the most tribalistic in the history of Nigeria. From Awolowo, to Abiola, Tinumbu, Fashola and now Ambode. They stole our properties but we bounced back. They try to force their rubbish language on our children in Lagos but we will show them. This Ambode is the worst of them. He knows that Igbos are buying up all the land all over Lagos so what did he do? He increased land use charge because he know we pay the most Tax in Lagos and control the economy. Afonja why? Why are you so lazy and jealous instead of stopping to be lazy? Afonja should be humble and learn how to be hardworking from Igbos so that they can prosper like us. Igboland is already the fastest developing region in West Africa. Thank you Tinumbu, Fashola and Ambode for pushing us back to invest in Igbo land. But Mark my words, we will continue to dominate lazy afonja in their land because we are umu Chineke. If Ambode like he should increase land use charge times 1000, we will still continue to buy all your lands. Mark my words. controlling the economy by selling gala and fanyogo...lwkd... |

FortifiedCity: 5 years ago when I was barely 2 years in Lagos, I was moving about getting acquainted with the environment. There was this particular area of Lagos that I stumbled upon. As at then, it was scarely populated aND had dense vegetation all around. In fact at a point, some youths including me and my friends pass through the bush to play ball right in the middle of that area.
3 years later, that place metamorphosed into one of the most developing beautiful residential areas in Lagos. So I heard!! Just last week, I happened to go there to see if I can get an apartment for myself, the structures I saw there made me cry. Money was literally talking. If you go there and you are not challenged to do better for yourself, then know you're irredeemably poor.
I met a Landlord there and we were gisting. He told me that during their estate monthly Landlord meeting, If they were hundred in number, 90 of them are Igbos, with 10 from different parts of the country.
You know When some people say, Igbos developed Lagos, I wave it aside even though I'm a proud Igbo man but with what I saw yesterday and what I had seen in different parts of the Lagos especially developing areas, that statement has a whole lot of truth in it.
And now to the real gist of the day.
Ambode decided to reap lagos landlords of their money and increased the land use charge to an all time high rate. After a public outcry, he reduced it but it's still high. Well I have no issues, he can raise it to power 1000 for all I care. All I want Is for him to do something that will make our brothers here to join those already building mansions in the east to do the same. Suspend all your residential mansions here. Go home and build that mansion. You can live in a rent here or better still, build a zinc house here and do your mansion in east.
I'm saying this without bias or prejudice, the spirit of the Igbo man is the best you can find. To him, everywhere is home. He's very accommodating.
Ambode is showing signs that he's not an accommodating person. In saner climes, government gives you good reliefs just to come and invest in the place but Lagos government sees it as an opportunity to milk people
On a final note, before you build a mansion in a Lagos, make sure you have 3 better ones in the east. Never build a house in Lagos if you don't have in the east. Owerri, Enugu, Port Harcourt, Aba and indeed every nook and cranny of the east is available for you to build a serene and comfortable home.
Charity they say begins at home. East Is your home!!!! ndi developers ....lol |

Over 50 people died in Rivers State alone during the last general elections, a state that for the first time in history recorded over 90% turnout and a ridiculous margin of victory for the ruling party, reflecting the gross electoral fraud. How is that not of a greater concern than some naughty little kids and their mischievous handlers?
Who will take care of this much bigger rigging problem in the south? He who seeks equity must come with clean hands. didn't the ruling party win with incredible margin in kano too? |

sarrki: Photo: Leadership Oil refinery By Jeremiah The Federal Government is making progress on the establishment of modular refineries with the arrival of one set of package shipment already in the country and undergoing Customs clearance.
The Niger Delta Inter-Ministerial Committee, chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, informed members at its presentation meeting in Abuja that the refinery would be installed in Delta.
A statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Vice President on Saturday indicated that another set of refinery equipment would arrive the country in April and would be installed in Rivers.
The operation of the modular refineries would include the involvement of communities where they are located.
Osinbajo said this would ensure that communities benefit directly from the refineries which would help create jobs and engage youths in the region.
NAN recalls that in December 2017, the Inter-Ministerial Committee received a report that 38 licensed privately-financed greenfield and mini-modular refineries' investors had so far indicated interests in the establishment of refineries in the region.
At that event, no fewer than 10 of the licensed investors were at an advanced stage of development.
Also, the NDDC reported at the meeting its progress in the implementation of its projects in the region.
It stated that in 2017, a total of 372 projects covering roads, bridges, electricity, water, amongst others, were completed by the commission.
The development projects include the 25.7 km Nembe-Ogbia road, which would be inaugurated soon; the construction of Otueke Internal roads in Ogbia LGA, Bayelsa; Kira Dere Mogho road and Bridge in Gokana LGA, Rivers.
It also includes the construction of Iselu-Okaigben-Idung-Boko-Onicha Ugbo road, in Edo/Delta States; the Orie Ukwu Amaoji market road, Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Abia State and the Ashikem-Ufono-Betwaswan road in Obudu, Cross River.
The Commission is also working with all related parties, including AMCON, to ensure the establishment of 6,000 barrels per day Amakpe modular refinery to be installed in Eket, Akwa Ibom State.
