rckdude: But the established opinions are flawed. We all cry foul when someone with a foreign degree comes around and is considered before us. Its also the opinion of employers that anything foreign is better. Do you consider such opinion flawed or not? Most foreign trained graduates being better than the Nigerian ones is widely known and generally acceptable. It's not even debateable considering the current level/standard of our institutions here. So what are you talking about being flawed? |
kayusbrown: Only a mad man does things without reason. I had to explain so that the prejudiced minds will see the real reasons behind my choices. I have observed that you and destino24 are only interested in winning arguments instead of reasoning logically and making unbiased deductions like the engineer you claim to be. You are embarrassing the sound engineers if you don't know.Start reading from page one. You would understand who's been reasoning logicallly, and those hell bent on winning arguments. ![]() |
rckdude: What university did u attend? I graduated from unilag; accounting, I was taught by just 2 profs, one just became a prof dt same year he taught us and I can count the number of times they came to class. We had more lecture 1 and 2 as our lecturers. We had no qualified lecturer to teach us Group accounts applying IFRS and my dpt engages tthe services of a renowned lecturer from yabatech to teach us on advanced FA. Am a proud akokite but we don't necessary have anything over yabatech in the accounting discipline. You are a certified clown. So now you folks have resorted to comparing the staff of the institutions? You better discuss what you know. I don't even believe this your tale of Unilag having no competent lecturer to take you on International Financial Reporting Standards. I'm in the engineering field, but i know relevant facts about such things and how to relate them to issues. Even my sibling in the accounting line won't say such about her institution, not Unilag however. Don't make me expose you here. Now, have you been to other polythenics? What do you know about their teaching staff strength compared to universities? |
Od31: Nigerians with their unnecessary Pride. We all know the Nigerian Education system can not be compared to that of the US, yet the US could evaluate HND to be equivalant to Bsc. Let come to think of if that does the Bsc graduate Know that the HND holder don't know? I am a graduate of both the University and Polytechnic. I know very well what am talking about, there is absolutely no need for the decrimation. Been thought be a professor does not change anything. An HND holder will measure up with a Bsc hold any day any time all things being equal. So you are a graduate of a both a university, and a polythenic? You mean after you completed your HND, you still had to go to a university to get a Bsc and are spewing nonsense about their equality here? |
Soyedele1: Damn!! I did my IT in UI..Mehn, those students and staff are extra ordinary good!!Exactly. They compare half baked university graduates from wack institutions with Top students from their best Polythenics to score cheap and silly points and regurgitate false beliefs. They just keep proving themselves inferior and i'm gona help them do that, as much as i can. ![]() |
This thread was created to discuss the equivalence of both degrees, but HND holders turned it to a Bsc bashing thread. Now they feel the heat, and they cry foul. ![]() Soyedele1: for HND grads, during your Undergraduate days, how many professors taught you and how many professors you have in ur dept? At University level, right from your 100lvl to final year, You will pass through alot of professors... during my 100lvl, I can count up to 4 Professors that taught me.. Both of you HND holders know that you can work as a graduate assistant in the university..Bros easy abeg. Laboratory attendants would do for HND holders. You know how much they claim to know praticals. ![]() |
phantonce: how many of your university graduate can stand student from yabatech or auchi poly.have you met engineering graduates from OAU, UI ? |
kayusbrown: Well that's private. But for the avoidance of doubt, if he's interested in engineering, he'll have to go to the Polytechnic first or a Technical institute like (Institute for Industrial Technology, Lagos) to get his hands dirty and learn the rudiments of engineering. I'll then advice him to work for a minimum of 2years before sponsoring him abroad for bachelor's degree in engineering. Of course I won't let him get close to HND because of the entrenched discrimination against the certificate. Neither will I allow him to study engineering in any of the Nigerian Universities so that he will not end up being like a tiger on a piece of paper. He only asked a question, requesting a direct answer, not explanations or conjectures about how you arrived at it. ![]() |
destino24: How can you contradict yourself within a space of two lines. He is not an engineer. Have you forgotten? ![]() |
Brozules: Am an polythenic student, studying Agricultural and environ mental engineering, and am proud 2 challenge any university student,be it on theory or our area of specialization(practical).Even If you are from a popular poly like Yabatech and top in ur set, can you match a similar colleague from OAU? Would you have become a student of that poly if you were presented with an admission from OAU? |
I see most HND folks saying they have OND, and then they proceeed to the university and they still claim to be graduates of polythenics. What are they trying to tell us that we don't know already? This is exactly what is referred, to as hypocrisy. Bsc holders on this thread are not trying to make any different degree holder feel inferior. The acclaimed victims/culprits are the ones oppressing themselves. Let's discuss facts, and give credence to established opinions. |
Pipsland78: This would be the 1st thread to make it to front page without making it to 2nd page. Nigerian youths are only interested in entertainment news and gossips, how sad! #shaking head the future of Nigeria#Some threads without comments make it to FP. Why do you think the 'first to comment' phrase is so popular? ![]() |
destino24: Everyone knows we have serious issues in our educational system (from primary to tertiary).Exactly. Poor HND guys. ![]() |
Davo93: Like what RAM? 4GB?HP 2000-2d07EIA, HP 2000-2d05SE, HP Pavilion 15-e000sia, HP Pavilion g6-2243cl , HP Pavilion 15-e000se Those are the best I3 laptops available in Nigeria within that range. The Hp 2000 for as low as 71,000 to the pavilion series which is as high 85,000. The design, keyboard, speaker quality etc varies though but all of them possess at least *500G hard disk space *4gig RAM *I3-3110m, almost the most powerful I3 variant. I3 differs a lot. *Intel HD 4000, extremely good and recent intel intergrated graphics card; much more better than the previous intel HD 3000 found on some I3 variants. *windows 8 Etc make your choice wisely. ![]() |
It's true. . .most girls have fish brain ![]() |
duni04: Yoruba gals are very low in demand so guys end up paying almost nothing for them as bride price. That's why d money is eventually returned. Igbo gals are high in demand n low in supply, that's why their own bride price is high. Its simple economicsCre.tin, listen. . . gratiaeo: Look @ them morons! Return of bride price is practice in Igbo land since time immemorial. I am a witness |
felzylix: Cos they know for sure their child is not worth the price been paidwe avoided this on FP but you still had to bring this up? |
It's annoying seeing threads like this from time to time, opened by HND graduates who have now resorted to lies, hear-says and half truths. We've been hearing.... HND folks are more exposed to pratical than Bsc chaps, they are this and that etc.....most of which are false. I've met enough of polygraduates to know when some facts are over rated. Only few polythenic graduates from Yabatech and Co are credible enough to produce graduates worthy of comparison with those from universities in various fields. The rest are crap, and by crap i mean really crappy. I think the basis of most comparisons have really been unfair to the university folks, probably because of the bad Eggs or halfbaked chaps or backward institutions products among them who are then used in reference to outstanding polygraduates. Sympathy too, plays a very dirty part too if you understand what i mean. I don't see things changing either. I rememeber Oronsaye commitee saying the right thing. |
kennytidistar: ONLY FEW ORGANIZATION RELY ON BSC FOR REASON WELL KNOWN TO THEMFrom admission process and criteria, it's already been established. What few are you talking about? I advise you face reality. |
kennytidistar: YES YOU CAN, MANY HND HOLDERS RUNNING MBA PROGRAM AT UNIVERSITY OF BALTIMORE, BOTH HND AND BSC TAKE GMAT . kennytidistar: TRY LONDON BUSINESS SCHOOL AND SEE IF YOU WILL NOT BE OFFERED A MASTERS ADMISSION WITH YOUR HND, ALL YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND IS THAT ALL STRONG AND HIGH RATED SCHOOL IN THE WORLD RECRUIT THEIR STUDENTS THROUGH WES AND USING WES EVALUATION STANDARD.oga pls shut the Bleep up. We are talking HND and BSC in Nigeria here, and are you restating your opinions based on foreign dispositions. What's our business with baltimore and london school? What's our business with WES here? Scream that in your interview and see if you would get employed. Are those the organisations that would employ you here in Nigeria? |
I can only pity HND folks here. Most of them are chaps the univeristies reject and they knew what they got into exactly. So why all these complaints now? What is WES? What is the Op saying? The employers decide the judgement and we all know what it is. |
