FYI Ghana was at the grand finale of the under 20 world cup in 1993 and 2001 maybe you don't know before winning it in 2009 beating Brazil

What is a national team? Is under 20 a continental team? Reaching the world cup quarter finals is one million times better than winning AFCON and you know that.

Ghana wants to win the world cup, not mere AFCON, maybe you don't know.

I am embarrassed for you to compare those mediocre football ERS to the Ghana talents I listed. Don't you have shame?comparing john obi to Michael essien? cheesy

Its obvious you don't know football
To sum it up in the last African best, a list of eleven African Legends of the game were introduced and 4 Nigeria players I mentioned were part of the Eleven. I tried so hard to see a Ghanaian, I couldn't find not even one

Indeed you are a comedian. You couldn't even qualify for AFCON and you are comparing yourself to the four time champions? I laugh in Igbo wouf wouf wouf

Pray your Nigeria is not placed in Ghana group, hope u know the implications cheesy
I'm even praying to God for us to meet. I mean I'm looking for an easy three points so Ghana looks like one team that can provide Nigeria with that

is 1993 before 1989??. The Point is we got to the finals before u guys. And by the way in your honest mind u really want to compare Kingson( mostly a bench warmer in all the club he played) to a Vincent Enyeama( one of Africa's most consistent goalies). if there's only goal keeper to be compared to him then it will probably be Carlos Kameni.

So you think a Gyan (flop at Sunderland) can be compared to An Arsenal legend in Kanu or the prince of Monaco (Victor Ikpeba).

You are even mentioning Atsu ( a player who can't even start at Newcastle). SMH

Why can't Mikel be compared to him. Just tell me what makes him better apart from the area of goalscoring which isn't even d job of a no 4

And ask him the last time Nigeria qualified for AFCON? That was way back 2013

Ghana is the only non-european and south american country to have won the under 20 world cup. Where is their Nigeria?

Wasn't this same Nigeria the black stars walloped 4-1 in Brentford?
We didn't qualify because we gave people like your Black stars chance to win but you people still couldn't win it.

Same happened after we won it in 1994. We went to rest to see if people like you will win it if we were not in the competitions but you guys still couldn't. After we came back in 2000 we made more impact than you guys who have been qualifying. We won 4 bronze,1silver and An Afcon within 2000 - 2013 while u guys only won a silver and a bronze within that period so what is the purpose of qualifying without making an impact

You are not even ashamed to say you beat Ghana at the group stage, forgotten we lashed Nigeria in the finals when it mattered most.

Ghana was the first African country to win. A medal at the Olympics in soccer and that is record, we always set the pace and Nigeria our little brother will forever bow to us. In fact Ghana thought. Nigeria football and this is fact .if there is a team Ghana does not respect then it is Nigeria and you know it.

You are priding yourself with women football?hahahaha, our ladies are too pretty for football. Your women look like men.

When. Ghana won AFCON 3 times Nigeria. Had 0.

When Ghana won the under. 20 world cup in 2009 yes I was alive. When Ghana won the all Africa games soccer, yea I was alive.

Nigeria will forever bow to Ghana. Ghana the pride of Africa.

Get me Nigeria's equals to the following Ghanaian. Greats:

1. Richard Kingston
2. Samuel Osei Kuffuor
3.Michael Essien
4. Abedi Pele
5. Wilberforce Mfum
6. Abdul. Razak
7. Tony Yegoala yeboah
8.Asamoah Gyan
9. Christian Atsu
10. Rev Osei Kofi
11. Sulley Muntari

12/ Stephen Tornado Appiah
The same way we set the pace for you people at the U20 Wc by reaching the finals in 1989 and 2005

SMH which of those your female footballers is as fine as Sophia or ordega or even Oshoala.

Mtcheew look at the competitions you are mentioning. I was talking of National team competitions and you are mentioning age grade. Just say you have not seen your national team win a spoon.

And as for the players you mentioned
Vincent Enyeama (The only Goal Keeper in the 21st century nominated for African best)
Stephen Keshi
Mikel Obi (that was benching your injury prone essien in Chelsea)
Rashidi Yekini
Kanu
Finidi George
Amunike
Ikpeba
Even Onyekuru is better than your Atsu. Have ur Atsu scored 22 goals in a single league season. Onyekuru did it in Belgium

Chai, “when was you....? grin

Where were you not in 2018 World Cup? The African teams that went to the World Cup in 2018 were a big disgrace. It would have been better if they had not even gone. Strangely, Nigeria has gone to the World Cup several times but never gone beyond the second round. Ghana has made three appearances so far, and yet Hhana has reached the quarter final. Ghana almost got into the semis?

Ghana has won the under17, and while Ghana has not women and Olympic gold medal football, it was first Africa-China can country to win a football medal at th3 Olympics. Given Nigeria’s population and Ghana’s population, I think has achieved a lot more than Nigeria.

By the way, when was the last time your supper eagles beat the Black Stars? Do you remember?
Yes, since one of your Ghanaian brothers brought WAFU in the conversation den the last time Super Eagles defeated Ghana was at the last WAFU at the last group game in front of your fans.
But if you were talking about in a competitive match it was at the 2006 AFCON in Egypt.

And by the way were u alive the last time your Black stars won a proper trophy (not Chan or WAFU) but a proper trophy like the nations cup

And by the way you go about boasting how you guys won a bronze medal at the Football event of the Olympic games , the bottom line is you guys didn't win it. We can as well boast of reaching the Under 20 world cup final twice before you guys won it but we won't because we are concerned about WINNING only in Nigeria

You cannot even compare Siasia to Gernot Rohr because of youth grade team

Maybe John Obuh and Manu Garba are world class coaches because they won U-17 world cup ;

Siasia has zero qualification as a first team coach
What was Joachim low's qualification when he took over Germany national team?
What was Pep qualification when he took over Barcelona's job?
What was zidane's qualification when he took over Real Madrid job?
What was Ole qualification before he was employed as an interim manager

Even Julen lopetogui achievement as a coach was in Age grade competitions.

I mean we are judging him based on the fact that he failed to qualify us for the nations cup.
Amunike also failed to qualify us for the Under 20 world cup but he has redeemed himself at Tanzania that's where I'll blame Siasia for not taking another job

let Siasia take over another team and lead them to sometjing first

We did not consider Keshi just like that, we are not talking about Amunike today because of age grade success. Keshi coached two teams, before he was given the Nigerian job, Amunike has successfully coached Tanzania to their first AFCON in 39 years. Siasia cannot be sitting down in his house, and we will be talking about him as if he is a proper coach. Let us talk about people with quality experience, not people with excuses
I'll agree on the fact that he should get another job but in my honest opinion he his better than Gernot Rohr both tactically and his style of play is a joy to behold not like Gernot Rohr super eagles team who always struggle to string 5 passes together

Omo, Siasia was brought in to salvage a sinking ship. Each time they call on him, it's always after the qualification had already started and going back: either against Guinea or against Egypt. Let them give the job and leave him alone for about 2 years then we'll be in a better position to assess him. And by the way, they should also give him freehand to select his backroom staff just as they are doing with Rohr. When Siasia asked for Simon Kalika to assist him, the NFF denied his request but the same NFF has allowed Rohr to work his foreign assistants!

Talk about double standards!

lol.....is that the excuse?

Amodu never failed whenever he was called up to fill in for someone. He gave no excuses, he won what he needed to win, but your golden boy, Siasia, could not pull up his pants and win Egypt at home.

You people that are praying for the team to mess up, so, you can gloat at Rohr, may disappointment meet you at the end of the tournament. Even if Rohr is out of the job, Siasia will never be anything more than an age grade coach.
Not everyone is good at doing the job of patching things. Mind you the two times Siasia took over the eagles job coaches like eguavon and Oliseh have already put the team in a difficult position and u expect him to come perform some magic. Even great coaches like Ferguson needed four years to win his first trophy

Trust me, Siasia's team would've defeated both Croatia and Argentina in Russia. I know some of y'all would jump on me for saying this because we know that Croatia played in the finals but the Croatia team we played was not a very good team. An offensive minded Nigerian team would've shocked them during the first 20 mins and would've won that game!

but Rohr came with a timid, defensive minded game plan and Croatia capitalized. And having won that first game, their team took the momentum that carried them into the finals. But all in all, there was nothing special about that team. They were never good prior to the World Cup and they have reverted back to their mediocre levels after the world cup.

In fact, I wrote off Gernot Rohr after our first game in Russia. He might have the German organization but organization can only take you so far.

how can he win something for you? What tournaments has he gone for since he assumed office? What are you on about?

The World Cup is the first and only major tournament Rohr has gone for, and I doubt anyone expected him to win it. This AFCON will be his second, so, rest.

The man has had one of the best records in this century for a national team coach and only Keshi bests him, but don't tell us not to praise someone that rescued the team from the worst phase of mediocrity. Maybe you have forgotten that before Rohr, we had to watch Oliseh and Siasia's teams play drab, incohesive football, while destroying Keshi's legacy. Rohr has had to build this team back from nothing.

Not only did he infuse new players, he infused a new spirit in the team, he brought happiness, respect, definition. Everyone knows their place in the team, we know the leaders, we know the up and coming, everyone is playing their role brilliantly. He doesn't anatagonise his players, he doesn't badmouth them to the press, even when his staff was caught with bribe, he maintained a diplomatic stand

But, no, if Rohr does not spill blood on the cross of calvary, you people will not be satisified.
You mean the same Siasia that was asked to fill in for Oliseh who ran away from the job. SMH
So because he lost to Egypt his team played drab. Let's wait for the Afcon proper now and see if this Egypt team will not Flog us. mtcheew

Thank you very much. The same thing was on my mind this morning and brought me online.

The preparation for this qualifiers shows the height of unseriousness in the NFF and Sports ministry. A game of this magnitude and they weight until the last minute to kick off preparations.

Baffling.

Football is not a game of chance. It takes time and preparation to get it right. You can not expect the players to know themselves and assimilate the coach's philosophy with few training sessions. That is ridiculous.

We had lots of international windows to organise regular friendly games and camping session for Imama and his crew to know his squad. This should stop. The NFF and Sports ministry need to start having a long term plan to success. Enough of the cutting corners to achieve short term gains.
The same thing happened with the super falcons and that's why dey struggled at the AWCON. We fail to get the right preparation for our team and yet we expect miracle. Dats very baffling

come to think of it d federation knew they were having a match in March dey waited until February b4 scouting for players to use. dey didn't organize friendly match neither did dey start camping Early enough. dey waited until January before they opened camp for d home based players b4 dey realized d issue of age. and then worse of u employ coaches who are pre occupied with other jobs, d assistant coach still coached in an NPFL match in d weekend which is about 3 days b4 d match. training was held just a day b4 d match. even if u invite CR7 or Messi under such poor administration no miracle will happen

if I'm not mistaken d person in question said with good coaching d team can beat the first team of some African countries which I agree with anyways.

how many national teams in Africa can boast of such amount of talent. The fact dat they lost was dependent on a lot of factors and not that d players were bad. more so a lot of top nations like Senegal to smaller teams. even Tunisia were held to a draw at home by one country dat I can't remember so let's take a chill and wait till d second leg b4 we start criticizing Dem pls

Bordeaux winger Samuel Kalu will miss Nigeria ’ s next two games due to injury , the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF ) said on Friday.
The Super Eagles play the Seychelles in their last Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on March 22 then take on Egypt in a friendly four days later .
Nigeria are top of Group E on 10 points ahead of South Africa on 9, Libya on 7 and Seychelles on 1pt, with this weekend’ s match concluding the preliminary group round .
Both matches are due to be played in the southern city of Asaba .
Team spokesman Toyin Ibitoye said youth team captain Ikouwem Udoh , 19, would replace 21-year - old Kalu , whose mother was recently kidnapped and held for a week until a ransom was paid .
Udoh , who plays for club side Enyimba , is a left -back who has played for Nigeria ’ s home -based team, which lost in the final of last year’ s African Nations Championship to Morocco.
Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has said he is keen to get more left -sided players into the squad in the run- up to the AFCON tournament in June .
Bringing him in is a good idea no doubt but we know Gernot Rohr won't use him .
i mean why not invite Emmanuel Dennis or Chuba Akpom or try out another attacker probably a Nwakeme shld be given another chance.
I mean try out new players. Egypt is coming to play us with 10 uncapped players.
I was initially happy when I heard Kalu was injured because I felt it would give way to a new player buh instead he chose ikouwem who we all know he won't use

If you want to cry about somebody cry about Danjuma
Danjuma is an attacker (a winger) if I'm not mistaking which is a position d super eagles is blessed with.
I mean even Emmanuel Dennis who plays in the same club with Danjuma has played more games and scored more goals dan him dis season and he has not gotten a call up to the super eagles yet, it just shows how much talent we have in that position.
Buh Billing is a midfielder which I think is a position the super eagles needs more personnel in

Everton in major fight to keep £20m star who has never played for club
Date published: Monday 11th March 2019 10:17
Everton are ready to hand Henry Onyekuru his Premier League debut next season, but the Nigerian will need to be convinced to make the move.
The 21-year-old was signed by the
Toffees 18-months ago from Belgian side Eupen – but he has never played for the club due to work-permit issues
But now Onyekuru would likely land a permit, as he is a regular for Nigeria and is one of the top-scorers in Turkey.
Galatasaray would like to keep the player – but there is a major interest from elsewhere, including Paris Saint Germain.
The French giants have been long-term admirers and they are ready to offer Everton a £20million deal, but they are not the only interested party as we understand fellow French sides Monaco and Marseille are also keen, along with Borussia Dortmund, Napoli and Sevilla.
Everton will be left with the decision to make, as their scouts have been issuing glowing reports on his progress back to Marco Silva and his staff.

I think Monaco and Dortmund will be good choices as this are clubs that have history of developing young players
