Ighalo was playing in Laliga at 20 he must have had something to be in La liga you are being UNKIND.

But we are talking about the HERE and NOW not speculative assumption. A player the Management has said he currently lacks what it takes.

Look at SE strikers of the past and present.

Yakubu, Yekini, Ighalo, Anichibe. Odemwingie, Ideye. Emenike, Obagoal, Ikpeba. Look at thier attributes all of them had a good degree of physicallity and the best strikers were the strongest physically speaking.

So a good degree of physicality is a must have not just a desirable among other essential attributes.
Odemwingie physical??

Warming bench were? At Liverpool? It is understandable.

At Bournemouth, he never warm bench.

As a youth player, because England has too many good players that even their U21 team can easily make the staring 11 of our national team. Gbam!
He didn't warm the bench and he made 7 appearances from January to May.

SportsRe: AFCON 2019: Favourites,pretenders And Mere Participants by Olulong(m): 10:02am On Jul 09, 2019
bingbagbo:
In few days, Africa will witness the biggest AFCON ever. An expanded version of the AFCON kick starts in pharoahs home Egypt and 24 nations will compete to vie for that coveted trophy.

It is an honour to present to you my opinion of four teams who are real favourites and main contenders of the competition, four other teams who though many tout as favourites but I believe they can't win and four other teams that will be mere partakers.

Favourites: so I start with my four bets who will surely win the trophy and first on my list is the Pharoahs of Egypt. All factors at play make Egypt the team with the biggest chance of winning the ultimate. They are playing at home just as they did in 2006, they have the best player on the continent in the person of Mo Salah, they have a history of winning the AFCON, they have been the finals since 2006 whenever they participate, they know how to beat all the teams coming to compete and the factors are endless. Egypt definitely will be the team to beat.

Next for me is the Indomitable lions of Cameroon. The Cameroon is other team I believe could easily go all the way to lift this year's AFCON. They are the current champions of Africa, they have some of the best players on the continent currently especially in the area of goalkeeping and midfield even though Vincent Abubakar will be missing in action, they will be managed this term by two great adventurous former dutch international s, they have character for big competitions and more especially they are being underrated by many which will result as a confidence booster.

The Ivory Coast is my third pick. Truth is, the Ivory Coast is the most improved African team since 1992. Since 2006 they have always remained pretpurnament favourites and even though others feel the Elephants have underachieved I believe they have chalked an incredible record since 2006. They were in the grand finale in 2006, 2012 and won it in 2015. Three grand finals in six competitions therefore underrate such a team at your own peril. I think they have the most quality players coming into this AFCON even though many pundits point to Senegal. The like of Sylvian Gbohou, Serge Aurier, Baily, Serey Die, Frank Kesse , Seri, Nicholas Pepe, Jonathan Kodjia and Max Gradel will prove a mouthful for manhy AFCON participants.

My last favourites will be four time champions Ghana. I personally believe Ghana is the most talented African nation in football, check their world cup records. Like the Ivory Coast, they have qualified for every single AFCON since 2006 and have appeared at least at the semi finals stage since 2008. I believe Ghana ranks behind Egypt as the most successful AFCON team. Though many underrate this Ghana team, I believe the black stars will be one of the main contenders for this AFCON. They have many skillful players in their ranks including Jordan Ayew, Samuel Owusu, Christian Atsu, kwadwo Asamoah, Andre Ayew and the like. Ghana know how to play the Afcon, just been unlucky at times.
Hahahahaha. All of a sudden my guy has become quiet

And by the way I don't hate Ghana

Which one is they were unfortunate. A loss is a loss. Even with all the favourable referee calls they got they still lost. I'm sure if it was Nigeria that lost in the same manner they lost. U won't be saying we were unfortunate but instead you will give 1000 flaws in Gernot Rohr's tactics

1. Let Henry Onyekuru lead your attack and drop Odion Ighalo

2. Let Ahmed Musah and Samuel Chukweze join the team after half time

3. Pack your midfield, this is Cameroon's trumpcard .

4. You must do something about your goalkeeper, I don't know how?

5. Respect the Cameroonian team, soak the pressure and rely on counter attacks.

6. Take advantage of your set pieces.

7. Do something about your right back, Chikozie Awaziem, though I don't know how. He is wack.

8. Kenneth Omeruo needs a solid. partner, don't try Leon Balogun again, maybe Troost Ekong? I don't know

9. Alex Iwobi must up his game as a playmaker, be direct and simple

10. Christian Bassagog must be marked out, he is Cameroon's most dangerous player.

I wish the green eagles all the best, hopefully they meet Ghana in the grand finale
Nice Analysis. Looking forward to facing u guys to.
Awaziem is a CB he was only put there because of injury, Collins will man the left flank while Aina will go back to his preferred right back

Spot on.

I said similar thing last year when I noticed a sort of pattern in the Europeans approach to raising formidable team that can go on to dominate for 5 years at the international level.

Anytime you see these European national teams miss out in any major competition, I tell you, they are cooking something up. Their team is undergoing a sort of rebuilding process.

Look @ the French, Italians, Dutch, they've all followed similar pattern. Presently, Netherlands and Italy are pulling all strings together and I won't be surprised if come 2022 one of them stroll to the World Cup Finals. They both missed out at the previous edition but have been improving since then. They are mixing youthfulness with experience. Retiring the previous generation of super stars like Robben, Persie, Kuyt, Pirlo, Machisio, etc. The French did it with Ribery, Benzema, Valbuena, Nasri, after crashing out at the early stage in two successive world cups and guess what? They lifted the trophy.

We've missed out of 2 consecutive AFCONs I was expecting us to have raised a formidable team in our 4years of absence but what will have today is an eyesore... A team who has been together for 3 years under 1manager and still can't play a purposeful football is of no use. it's either something is wrong with the players or the coach.

I don't know when will get it right.
The team itself is not bad. I can confidently say our present AFCON squad was better than Keshi's own that won it. The problem Still remains the coach who is hell-bent on using his preferred players ( Kalu,Simon and Co)
