Nigerians, don't be delusional. The SE are not that good. Don't think they are capable of any upset. Though i'm supporting them all the way and i'll enjoy it if they suprise me.

They couldn't even beat the Namibia. I keep my fingers crossed
IslamRe: Saudi-Arabia To Reduce Nigeria’s Hajj Slots by olumyde(m): 3:12pm On Jun 13, 2013
Sometimes i smell something about promoting Arabs in islam. You go to hajj in saudi arabia, Quran is best in arabic, so all muslims should learn arabic. For worship, muslims dresses like arab. ETC. I mean no offence. On d other hand, i think govt should stop sponsoring both muslim and christian pilgrimage.

Christianity EtcRe: Healings And The Gift Of Healing In The Church by olumyde(m): 9:32pm On May 26, 2013
@omonuan, where did you get that luke and matthew disagree on where Jesus was tempted? Matthew 4:1 says "then was Jesus led ur of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil". Luke 4:1 says "and Jesus cogni full of the holyghost returned from Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness". Don't allow the devil to use u and pls actually get more familiar with the word of God.
Christianity EtcRe: Healings And The Gift Of Healing In The Church by olumyde(m): 9:22pm On May 26, 2013
[quote
author=omonuan]Okay maybe not abuse....but you need to understand the context of Mark
16:18 which clearly states that if you have faith you should be able to
drink poison, handle snakes and heal the sick. The man in Alabama and
his wife tried to comply with this rule and paid with their lives.

Now read the Gospels:

Matthew 4:5-8: Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him
stand on the highest point of the temple. "If you are the Son of God,"
he said, "throw yourself down. For it is written: ’He will command his
angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that
you will not strike your foot against a stone." Jesus answered him, "It
is also written: ’Do not put the Lord your God to the test." Again, the
devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms
of the world and their splendor. "All this I will give you," he said,
"if you will bow down and worship me." Jesus said to him, "Away from me,
Satan! For it is written: ’Worship the Lord your God, and serve him
only.’

Satan took Jesus to the pinnacle of the temple, then to the mountain
top.

Luke 4:5-9: The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an
instant all the kingdoms of the world. And he said to him, "I will give
you all their authority and splendor, for it has been given to me, and I
can give it to anyone I want to. So if you worship me, it will all be
yours." Jesus answered, "It is written: ’Worship the Lord your God and
serve him only.’ The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the
highest point of the temple. "If you are the Son of God," he said,
"throw yourself down from here.

Satan took Jesus to the mountain first, then the temple.

According to the gospel of Mathew, Christ was taken first to the
pinnacle of the temple before he was taken to the mountain top for the
temptation but Luke says he was first taken to the mountain then the
temple. These are materially different accounts.[/quote]this has been explained to you. It's just diff arrangement. The arrangement is not important, its d content dt matters. And d contents are the same. Luke did not even use words like "after this", "thereafter", or "then". It just states, "the devil took him here, took him here and took him here". He wasn't trying to arrange it chronologically.
PoliticsRe: ACN Lawmakers Back State Of Emergency by olumyde(m): 9:10pm On May 21, 2013
Nigerian politics is changing, it's only some old politicians that don't want to let go of the old way. Between the next 10 - 15 years they will all die and Nigeria will experience a dramatic change. That is why i don't vote for parties, i vote for individuals. Fashola is ACN and he's doing well in Lagos state. Mimiko is Labour party and he's doing well in Ondo state. Akpabio is PDP and he's doing well in Akwa-ibom state. So, forget party, support the right person wt d right ideal.

Christianity EtcRe: Paul Ado Bayero: Kano Emir's Grandson Who Converted To Christianity by olumyde(m): 10:33pm On May 20, 2013
Most muslims deny all stories of muslims converting to christianity. I don't know if this story is true or not, but i'll share what i know. During my undergraduate days, i know 5 of my course mates who were once muslims but were now christians. I'm not talking of hearsays, i knew all of them just in my department o. Not the whole faculty or school. Even when one of them told me, i was so suprised cos he never looked like it. There was a girl dt even our muslim mates refused to stop calling her her muslim name. So muslims should not live in denial. Many muslims are accepting Jesus Christ as the way of salvation to God. You may also consider it. Though i'm not denying dt some christians are probably becoming muslims. Infact i know one, who became one on account of marrying an Alhaji.
Christianity EtcRe: 4 Killed In T.B. Joshua’s Church In Ghana During Stampede For Holy Water by olumyde(m): 10:36am On May 20, 2013
Fuelish: You think the people that died went out there to die? people, with families, died so try and be sensitive. In today's world, people die for far more absurd reasons and things. if these unfortunate people thought getting the anointed water was going to help them.that was why they went out there, not to get killed! the fact that died is the tragedy, not because they went in search of anointing water or any such stuff.
@fuelish, i wasn't being insensitive, you'll see from my other posts. I was just responding to the person whose post i quoted, who was trying to distinguish btw dt stampede and other stampedes. So it will seem that i'm with you on d fact dt its just an unfortunate incident.
Christianity EtcRe: 4 Killed In T.B. Joshua’s Church In Ghana During Stampede For Holy Water by olumyde(m): 9:37am On May 20, 2013
Carsonv: Right now we're not talking about Mecca or a footlball match.
We're talking about stampede cos of 'holy water'. To me, that's the dumbest way to die!
Fanaticism!
If you need us to talk about stampede in Mecca put up a thread about it!
So dying in a stampede in Mecca or at a football match is a smart way to die? Its the same mentality that killed this people. At least they wanted miracle, though they went about it the wrong way.

muktar mtt: Hahaha I jst new it christernity is nfing but joke mtsw doz ppl no get brian @ all
Then what category will that put islam. Check out how many ppl have died during stampedes in mecca, and its not as if they are getting any miracle there. You know how many people have died as a result of ur brothers fighting jihad all over the world. At least, they weren't cutting people's head and shouting "praise the lord hallelujah". Like your people who will be cutting people's head and shouting "allahu akbar". Na wa o.

Bo-large:
THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN ANOTHER MIRACLE AND TESTIMONY OF THE POWER OF THE NEW ANNOINTED WATER.

OH HOW I WISH I WAS THERE TO PERFORM THIS MIRACLE.
Are you being sarcastic or what? "Testimony of the power of the new anointed water" or testimony of the power in the name of Jesus. Hmmm, you, like the victims, have taken ur eyes off the giver of miracles. The water is nothing without the power of God.
Christianity EtcRe: 4 Killed In T.B. Joshua’s Church In Ghana During Stampede For Holy Water by olumyde(m): 8:53am On May 20, 2013
Originalsly: Didn't the prophet see this coming? Why can't he see what's going on in his own church? Is he far sighted? I guess this hmmm...holy water is usually available at a price that the poor people can't afford so now that its free....it's do or die.May the survivors eyes open and may they stop being fleeced by these so called men of god.
I don't fancy or support tb joshua. But i can't help but notice that your comment and that of many others here reminds me of those who were at the crucifixion of Jesus. "He saved others," they said, "but he can't save himself! He's the King of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him" Matthew 27:42. Lets always be 'slow to speak' and 'bridle our tongue on matters like this'. Nevertheless there should be proper organization when a lot of ppl are involved. Imagine what will happen if Pastor Adeboye decide to lay hands personally on ppl at d redemption camp. RIP to the dead if they're born-again
Christianity EtcRe: What Did You Learn In Today's Service? by olumyde(m): 4:09pm On May 19, 2013
chocopearl: I'm a catholic, 2day is pentecost sunday and d homily was so inspiring, i was made to undastand 2day dat wen the disciples received d holy spirit they started speaking in diff tongue and pple frm other tribes who wer present understood wat dey wer saying in their various languages. The priest made me undastand dat speaking in other tongue doesn't mean kabashing!!!
The infilling and baptism of the Holyspirit is always symbolized by speaking in tongues. Just curious, does the priest speak in tongues. 1 Cor 14:2 "For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mystries". So you see. That the people understood them was a sign. We should read our bible personally. Anyways, today was healing and medical sunday, so i learnt dt we need to rest. Some health problems we have is a result of lack of rest. Even God rested, even though he doesn't get tired according to Isaiah 40:28. He did this to show us the important of rest. Spiritual rest is to be in Christ. Rest for soul is by casting ur cares on the Lord. Physical rest is important. But without spiritual rest, you can not see the kingdom of God.
IslamRe: A Quranic View On Boko Haram And The Muslim's Perspective by olumyde(m): 2:38am On May 19, 2013
ola_pluto: Olumide omo Jesu. All your posts show tell a story about you. Either you're permanently blocked to superior reasoning or just lack exposure. You need to travel round the world, meet Muslims and learn how Muslims live. You sitting in your sitting room listening to news is affecting your reasoning. I understand that the frustrating living conditions in Nigeria helps breed reasonings like yours, but it will help you to get more exposure. Go out there and move with Muslims, read the Quran and other Islamic texts. Google is also there. Dont read about Islam from a Christian website, else you will be further brainwashed.
As the saying goes, Assumption is the lowest level of knowledge, you should have asked. FYI, i have muslim friends who are normal people. And i was recently in taraba state where there was religious crisis both in february ending and this last two weeks (through which i know muslims can start a fight even when they are wrong). I've read the quran (not completely) and i've read some history about prophet mohamed's life from islamic scholars. So i know what i'm talking about. In my last two posts, i posed some questions that nobody is willing to answer.
IslamRe: Franck Ribery Furious Over Beer Bath by olumyde(m): 9:39pm On May 18, 2013

IslamRe: A Quranic View On Boko Haram And The Muslim's Perspective by olumyde(m): 9:06pm On May 18, 2013
And have you heard of muslims taking up arms immediately after friday prayers? Gosh! Its like taking up arms after a sunday service. Its impossible. I've not heard it. Something is wrong in the foundation that can not be solved by merely saying islam is a religion of peace on the surface. The solution to that foundational problem is accepting the gospel of Jesus Christ.
IslamRe: A Quranic View On Boko Haram And The Muslim's Perspective by olumyde(m): 8:58pm On May 18, 2013
kuma007: But I must quickly point out that a violent muslim is not like that merely because he is a muslim. Everyone has his natural instinct to contend with. Now, how are we sure those bombing everywhere are muslims? I have read a story in india where some religious group, (not christians)dressed like muslims and chanting some Quranic verses took a cow to the front of the Bhudist shrine and slaughtered it.
Lets be objective here, how do you know that they were not muslims. Those bombing in the north are not muslim? Please browse on how BH started. What of Uthman dan fodio? What of Osama bin ladin? What of d nigerian Abdul-mutalab caught abroad?
IslamRe: A Quranic View On Boko Haram And The Muslim's Perspective by olumyde(m): 3:53pm On May 18, 2013
From the post, i got that according to Surah 2:26, Allah misguides those who are inherently corrupt through the Quran. Well, most humans are inherently corrupt. My advice is if you are corrupt don't read a quran, get a bible instead. I got a question though for all to ponder. Assuming prophet muhamed is alive today in nigeria, will he be a gentle muslim, always preaching peace? Will he allow a christian to be the chairman of his local goverment? Will he like a christian being his governor or president? Or lets substitute prophet muhamed with Uthman dan fodio (who contributed much to the spread of islam in nigeria). If u answer this you'll see that religious violence can never be seperated from islam. Its not just Nigeria, its all over the world. Some of this terrorists are more zealous muslims than the ones that are peaceful. They dress up like the prophet, they are well versed in the quran, they pray the most, some don't even miss prayers. Thats the difference btw muslims and christians who commit violence. Most 'christians' that commit violence are uncommited christians who can't say they are born-again while most muslims that are violent are committed muslims. If a muslim can be cutting someone's head and be saying "allahu akbar", then something is wrong. I mean no offense, just stating facts.
