Music/RadioRe: 20k A Track @ Phat Wall Studios by Oluti(m): 9:48am On Jul 12, 2009
I've e-mailed you guys before. I want to try your studio but your advert is confusing. 20k a track studio, what does it mean? If I have 16 tracks on my album, does it mean I have to pay 20k x 16? Anyway, do you provide artist to back up the artist, arranger and producer? Are strictly a studio where an artist pay for the studio time and after that he is his own? What really do you do? There are hundreds of studio in Lagos and many of them top of the tree with all the latest gadgets you can find anywhere. I know some them that are really out of this world. What makes you stand out in the crowd that will make me choose you above the others?

PoliticsRe: Appeal Court Nullifies Senator Kila's Election by Oluti(m): 8:00am On Jul 12, 2009
If the picture of 'killer' is the best my fellow Nairalander has seen in recent times, I shudder to think of what his other 'gangsterish' picture will look like. How can we even allow such specimen to rig themselves into position of prominent in this country? What is happening in Ekiti? In the old Ondo state, people used to stand up for their right. What is going on? It is time we started sending such ugly looking specimen like killer to the garbage can where they rightly belong.
LiteratureRe: Fiction Vs Non-fiction by Oluti(m): 2:28am On Jul 11, 2009
Even though fiction really entertains and takes the reader into the realm of becoming a participant in the fictional dream, it fall short of the kind of intellectual stimulant that non-fiction can give you. The satisfaction and information I derived from reading "The Fugitive Offender" by Anthony Enahoro which incidentally I read when I was in form three in those days, I never derived from reading Matarese Circle or Borne Identity by Robert Ludlum. Non-fiction stimulate the brain and fortify you with varieties of information in a way fiction can never do.

AutosRe: Request Free Vin Checks Here - Only 6 Requests Will Be Processed by Oluti(m): 12:25am On Jul 11, 2009
I am new in this section. I am not a car expert but I would like to know what a VIN is, where does it domicile in a vehicle and lastly how one can check the VIN of a vehicle by himself. If I cannot do this by myself, then having the information is useless.

damola1,
Did I miss something? What network is your diagram for? Nothing to indicate that on the diagram itself. Is it MTN?
TV/MoviesYoruba Movies Pirated DVD by Oluti(op): 2:59am On Jun 27, 2009
I read the other day  from the Nation Newspaper, how the Chairman of Yoruba Film Marketers Association expressed his bitterness during a press conference over the way irreparable damage is inflicted on his members daily by pirates who now release popular Yoruba movies now on DVDs and sell same as low as #150.00. Some of this DVD contain 20 movies or more. As much as I feel for his members concerning the woe inflicted on them by these satanic agent of destruction, I believe they have themselves to blame for this development. Nature abhor vacuum. The pirates saw an opportunity which their members failed to explore and took it. How come the marketers never thought of putting at least some of their old films on DVD. The DVD has become so popular in Nigeria that many people will never buy single films except DVD that have 15 films or more. I think their members should wake up and be proactive. They need to move with the time. They should not sit down in their offices and start bemoaning calamity inflicted on them by pirates when all they need to do is beat them at their game first, then they can take the battle to the pirates doorstep.

paulinto,
Do you think some of us don't want that software? Please let us into the secret. There is a software offered by a Nairalander @ http://naijamoney..com but it has a limitation of 6 hours a day. Your software, is it for 24/7 browsing? Do we have to pay anything to acquire it? How much? Let us into your world.
Music/RadioRe: I Need A Manager Urgently by Oluti(op): 4:08am On Jun 20, 2009
My brother,
I never used the word 'massive' in my post. I said my last record (which was a Christian anyway) enjoyed 'adequate' airplay. If I had enjoyed massive airplay, I wouldn't been needing you now would I? Anyway, on my first record I used J.J. Oluti Sr as my stage name. For the second one, I recorded it in conjunction with my church choir group though I wrote, and produced the music. We use a group name. I'll call you like you said so that we can meet and talk.
Music/RadioRe: I Need A Manager Urgently by Oluti(op): 2:48am On Jun 16, 2009
In reply to the above topic posted on Nairaland, I think I have the raw talent. I have done this twice in the past. I mean release albums. In the past,I missed the advice of experts in term of promotion and distribution hence my inability to create a major impact. My second record recorded about eight years ago, enjoyed adequate airplay but low return on investment in term of sales. I want to do it right this time hence the need for an expert. I don't even need the sponsor of a studio as I have gone way beyond that. What I need is the expert advice and guidance to do it right this time around.
Music/RadioI Need A Manager Urgently by Oluti(op): 1:33am On Jun 14, 2009
I am about to enter into the studio to record my third album. This time I want to do it right so I need a manager who not only will manage my affairs and direction, he would be responsible for arranging for artists who will feature on the record. He will also help me look for somebody who will co-arrange the music. Even though I play a couple of instruments including guitar and have a fair idea of what I wanted, I need somebody to fine tune what I have. One could call my type of music Afro Hip Hop to give it a tag but it is more of an African thing because the music is rooted in an indigenous music from my home town in Ijeshaland. Any one interested or who know who I can contact should get in touch with me. I sing mostly in Yoruba but I have about three tracks in English.
Music/RadioRe: Artistes That Have No Business In The Music Industry by Oluti(m): 1:46am On Jun 09, 2009
Please gentlemen,
You don’t make such a sweeping generalization about our musicians. Even though many of them sing crap people buy them. Who are we to complain? I think we should see music not sorely from the point of view of creativity but also from the point of mass appeal. Timaya may not appeal to some people as a top of the tree artist but he sells and is actually loved by many people. So also are many of the artists mentioned in your various posts. As long as they are still being enjoyed by people, they will continue to play. What has age got to do with making music? No one can tell any artist to quit the stage like his records sales. By the time no one buy any rubbish dished out by an artist, he would know it was time to go home.
PoliticsDoes Kwara State Generate Her Own Electricity by Oluti(op): 2:00am On Jun 04, 2009
I have heard a lot about Kwara experience. How they now enjoy more than twenty hours of electricity supply daily. I have gone through most of the past posts in Nairaland to verify if this is a fact but none of the post satisfy my curiosity. Is Kwara state generating their own electricity? If this is true, how have they managed to evade the Obasanjo's treatment. If this is true they are out of the dark ages, I would like to know what is the state of the Lagos State 10,000 mega watts plus deal with that Singapore company we read about sometimes ago? Is the project still on course? That nothing was said about this important issue during Fashola's two years in office commemoration reinforced my believe that probably the idea is dead. The power issue is more important than even the railway project. Power is the root cause of many of our problems. Had it not been for the selfishness of the then PDP government who wanted to capture Lagos by all means, we would be celebrating seven years of uninterrupted power supply in Lagos by now. Well, better late than never. Fasola what's up?

ComputersRe: How Can I Shop Online by Oluti(m): 4:07am On Jun 03, 2009
I'll like to give you guys a try if you are not one of the hated 'Yahoo boys' like my other friend said. I need to make some small payment to rapidshare but I need to pay it into my online account (Paypal). I know I can walk into any Intercontinental bank and come out with a mastercard but I don't need up to $100. Any of you guys who need up to that can give that route a try instead of taking a 'mugu'risk like I am about to take. Anyway, how do you fund my paypal account with the desired amount and how much naira will it cost me per $?
ComputersRe: Multilinks Telkom New Evdo Internet by Oluti(m): 11:38pm On May 31, 2009
Thanks my brothers,
From your posts, I believe for now multilinks is the best. Since I am a multilinks freak anyway (I have three other phones apart from my table top that I use for my internet connection) I will at least be able to get value for my money before their network get congested like the others.

ComputersRe: The Help And Support Does Not Work On My System by Oluti(op): 7:53am On May 31, 2009
Sorry pal,
I never intended to be. How can I be rude to you when all you're trying to do is help me. I am sorry if I sounded that way. I am really pissed off at the whole issue. Talking about pirated version of MS, who buys the real Mc Coy in Nigeria except the corporate bodies. We all know we get our software either from Computer village or download them! It is the shit we of a system we live in. In the 70s no one would think of such but the parasites in Abuja have so much pulverised us that we can only afford the basic necessities. I had original copy once but that was before I retired from Conoil. Sorry to keep running on and on. I use the usual one but I am able to do MS updates. You know what I mean. I don't need to expantiate on that on the net. I've decided to forget about the issue for now. Thanks pal. Sorry once again.
ComputersRe: The Help And Support Does Not Work On My System by Oluti(op): 1:56am On May 31, 2009
If this is so, then I will have to live with the problem. I have a reliable antivirus that I update almost everyday (not a free one) Avast professional. The problem started the day I installed the OS. I have never experienced such problem since I have been using MS windows. I am not sure it is a virus, if it is like I said before, I'll have to live with it.

My brother,
If I can to do it myself will I be asking for help? Definitely not. I have a paypal account but I don't know how to fund it from here. Even if I buy dollars in the black market I cannot jolly well wish them into my account can I? So my man, can you help me make online payment?
