Politics“Don't Blame Us For Refusing To Fund Rapists And Murderers Nigerian Army” – US by oluvick(op): 7:52pm On Jul 24, 2015
Patrick Leahy, an American Senator who
sponsored the Leahy Law says that President
Muhammadu Buhari should not blame the United
States for not choosing to support the Nigerian
Army.

The Leahy amendment prohibits the US Department
of State and Department of Defence from
providing military assistance to foreign military
units that violate human rights with impunity.

Owing to the fact that the Nigerian military has
been accused of alleged human rights crimes in its
war against Boko Haram, the United States had
refused to give the country the required
assistance.

President Buhari had said on Wednesday, July 22,
at the United States Institute for Peace that the
law “aided and abetted” the campaign of
bloodletting of Boko Haram.

In a response posted on his website, Senator
Leahy said he could not be blamed for the
atrocities committed by the murderers and rapists
in the Nigerian military.

He said:

“It is well-documented by the State Department
and by respected human rights organisations that
Nigerian army personnel have, for many years,
engaged in a pattern and practice of gross
violations of human rights against the Nigerian
people and others, including summary executions of
prisoners, indiscriminate attacks against civilians,
torture, forced disappearances and rape. Rarely
have the perpetrators been prosecuted or
punished.”

“This abusive conduct not only violates the laws of
war, it creates fear and loathing among the
Nigerian people whose support is necessary to
defeat a terrorist group like Boko Haram.

“President Buhari ignores the undisputed fact that
most Nigerian army units have been approved,
under the Leahy Law, for U.S. training and
equipment. Only those particular units against
which there is credible evidence of the most
heinous crimes are ineligible for U.S. aid. And even
those units can again become eligible if the
Nigerian Government takes effective steps to
bring the responsible individuals to justice.

“I strongly agree with President Buhari about the
need to defeat Boko Haram, and I have supported
tens of millions of dollars in U.S. aid to Nigeria for
that purpose. But rather than suggest that the
United States is at fault for not funding
murderers and rapists in the Nigerian military, he
should face up to his own responsibility to
effectively counter Boko Haram. He should direct
his attention to the Nigerian military, and the
Nigerian courts, and clean up the units implicated
in such atrocities.”

PoliticsHow I Was Betrayed By Tinubu , Buhari – Gov. Amaechi Shares His Story by oluvick(op): 12:06pm On Jul 08, 2015
Following the aftermath of the APC
convention. Gov. Amaechi has this to say:
“Let it be known, that I didn’t just join the
APC, I was wooed by the legacy parties and
four other PDP governors then. Naturally in
every bargain, interests must be spelt out.

Of course they did promise me the Vice
Presidential ticket in the forth coming
election with a condition to sell the party
and make President Jonathan unpopular.
The initial arrangement was to pair me with
Hon. Tambuwal (Speaker of House of
Representatives) .

But when other entrants like Atiku and
others entered the party, everything
changed. It was Gov. Nyako that opened up
to me on the recent changes, and pleaded
with me to take the position of the National
chairman of party, that it will be zoned to
the South-South. And I grudgingly accepted.
Now, in every political convention, consensus
building is needed to harmonize all interests.

So I initiated a platform for the 16 APC
governors to talk in Port-Harcourt last
week. And in that meeting, the 13 governors
and their deputies that were in attendance
reassured me that I will be given the
national chairmanship slot. But when I asked
Gov. Adams to ask Chief Ikimi and John
Oyegun to step down for my candidate,
Adam’s quietly told me “My brother, I know
the bad name they have called you in the
South-South and Rivers in particular. Again,
I sympathize with you because I know how
much you have put-in in APC, this Yoruba
and Hausa people can’t be trusted, they said
you couldn’t build the APC in Rivers State
and that only 95,633 out of the 1.3 million
membership you claimed have passport
photographs. That everything was doctored
by you”.

I find it very disappointing, that we no
longer have men of trust, and integrity.
Men whose words should be their bond in
politics. So last night, I made my position
clear, that if the other candidates didn’t
step down for Dr. Sam Sam Jaja, then there
was no point picking the expression of
interest form. I feel deeply betrayed”

Celebrities10 Shocking Nigerian Music Videos In Recent Times by oluvick(op): 12:15pm On Jul 04, 2015
Music videos are mediums for artistes to showcase
their looks, dance steps and tell a story of their
songs. In the Nigerian music landscape, it has
grown beyond that into a medium for display of
gangsterism, sex and violence. Our videos have
become bad deal for our impressionable youths who
tend to copy most of what they see on TV and the
internet. And the Nigerian cinematographers are
pushing the limits and becoming more expressive in
their shots.

These days, caution has been thrown into the
wind and their new form of entertainment is
display of boobs, butt or bust cleavage, naked laps
and other subtle erotic parts of the body. Studies
have shown a connection between music videos and
violent behavior of adolescents. The study also
shows a relationship between the imagery displayed
in videos and inappropriate sexual behaviours. In
no particular order, we chronicle 10 Nigerian music
videos that will send shock waves down your spine.
Reminisce –Skilashi 2015

Just like his previous sensual video, Tesojue,
Reminisce continues to push the limits as far as
releasing shocking videos is concerned. The Alaga
Ibile crooner makes use of vulgar lyrics and
obscene images in this video. The visuals are filled
with different scenes where the video vixens can
be seen dancing provocatively and occasionally
revealing their bums.

In other words, this video falls into the category
of a soft porn. Lately, Reminisce has been
releasing sexually charged videos without thinking
of the harmful effects it will have on the younger
generation. The video is directed by Frizzle and
Bizzle Films.

Olamide –Falila Ketan 2015

What message can be passed in a music video
where bums are being shaken in most of the
scenes? This is the question that comes to mind
when you watch Olamide’s Falila Ketan. All you can
see in the video is skimpily dressed ladies twerking
their God-given bums. It’s not the kind of video
you want to watch in the presence of your
children, if you don’t want to answer inquisitive
questions. The video is directed by Unlimited L.A.

Niyola-Love to love you – 2014

Before the video of this song was released, the
beautiful RnB singer, Niyola, posted a picture from
the video shoot with her upper body laid bare,
covering her breasts with her arms.

This generated various negative comments on the
social media. Love to love you is a love song with
sexual connotations, provocative dance steps and
erotic steamy scenes.

The video was shot in New York and shows how
Niyola loves to show love to her man. The video is
directed by Kemi Adetiba.

Wizkid- Expensive Shit– 2015

Though this song has an amazing Afrobeat feel, it
still goes on to unveil some shocking raunchy
scenes and suggestive dance styles. The visuals
were shot in South Africa and capture Wizkid in
the midst of skimpily dressed video vixens.Towards
the end of the video,Wizkid cuddles one of the
video vixens, puts her in a compromising
provocative posture, as though he is ready to take
her to the ‘Next level’. The video is directed by
Sesan.

Seyi Shay-Crazy 2014

Seyi Shay’s vocal dexterity is in no doubt, but
same cannot be said of this music video which has
many question marks over it. The visuals have
various sexual scenes blended with provocative
dance steps. In a particular scene, Wizkid is
spotted in a romantic position with Seyi Shay.

This short scene has Seyi Shay seizing Wizzy’s
crotch. In another scene, Seyi Shay can be seen
twerking on Wizkid. The video is directed by Meji
Alabi.

Mr2kay –Bad girl special – 2015 (featuring Cynthia
Morgan and Seyi Shay)

Weeks before the video was officially released, the
behind-the-scenes pictures were unveiled to the
public. A particular steamy picture of Mr2kay and
Cynthia Morgan went viral, getting everyone
thinking there could be more between the duo than
just music. For starters, the video begins with
Cynthia Morgan seductively walking towards
Mr2kay in a revealing top.

In this scene, the German juice sensation shows
off her curves and cleavage, affirming that she is
a ‘Bad’ girl for real. Another notable part in the
video is a scene where the duo are in the kitchen
caressing each other with Cynthia taking a sniff of
her cigarette. There was a time when Nigerian
music videos had a message and brilliant concepts,
it seems those days are long gone. The video is
directed by Clarence Peters.

Davido –Fans Mi – 2015

What comes to mind when you see guns, lots of
cash on a table and ladies dressed seductively in a
music video? This image portrays violence,

gangsterism and sensuality. Davido’s new video
depicts these negative vices in no small way. In the
visuals, the young popstar tries to seal a deal to
supply cocaine, while the leader of the gang hands
him stacks of dollars for the business transaction.
He goes back to his house where he is welcomed by
scantily dressed ladies arranging the cocaine.

If music videos are meant to be a vehicle to pass
positive messages for the good of the coming
generation, this video has done nothing but just
the opposite. The video is directed by Sesan.
Cynthia Morgan-German Juice 2015

The title says it all. German Juice connotes
buttocks. The ladies in this video swings it from
the beginning to the end. It was shot on a sunny
and summer-themed location. Cynthia Morgan sings
on a groovy dancehall beat while the ladies were
just shaking their big bums. The video is poor in
concept and lacks the needed depth that should
be displayed in a music video. The video is directed
by Clarence Peters and Jude Okoye.
Skuki-Silifa 2014

This video is reminiscent of Timaya’s Shake your
bum bum where ‘White’ video vixens were shaking
their assets. Shot sometime last year, the song’s
lyrics is empty and the video has no storyline. The
only shocking aspect of the visuals is the brazen
manner the video vixens were shaking their
buttocks. Little wonder, it was tagged ‘Not suitable
for work’(NSFW).

Flavour-Ololufe (Featuring Chidinma) 2015
Flavour made headlines years back when he
passionately kissed Tiwa Savage in the video of the
song ‘Onyi remix’. It generated lots of controversy
and sparked dating rumours been these two hit
makers. This is 2015, and the suave singer is back
to his kissing antics.

This time his partner in crime is the petite
Chidinma Ekile and the video is ‘Ololufe’. Since the
video hit the public domain, she has been heavily
condemned. Though, Chidinma has revealed that
she is not dating Flavour, her fans are yet to
recover from the shock of seeing her engage in
such an offensive act. The video is directed by
Godfather productions.

PoliticsLagos Tribunal Dismisses Agbaje’s Petition Against Ambode by oluvick(op): 9:53am On Jul 02, 2015
Lagos—Following the confirmation of his victory at
the Election PetitionTtribunal, Governor
Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State, yesterday
called on the governorship candidate of the
Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Jimi Agbaje to
join hands with him in moving the state forward.
Ambode also described the confirmation of his
victory at the polls as a reaffirmation of the
mandate given to him by the people of Lagos State.

But, the Lagos State chapter of PDP, in a swift
reaction, has rejected the ruling which struck out
its petition, describing it as a “miscarriage of
justice and a monumental drawback in the
dispensation of justice.”

The state election petition tribunal, yesterday
struck out the petition filed against the election
of Ambode of the All Progressives Congress, APC
by Agbaje following a preliminary objection filed by
the counsel to the APC candidate, Chief Wole
Olanipekun (SAN).

Reacting to the ruling of the tribunal headed by
Justice Mohammed Sirajo, the governor said, “I’m
elated at the ruling of the tribunal which is an
affirmation of my victory at the polls. On April 11,
2015, the people of Lagos spoke with their votes
about continuity and that is what the tribunal has
just reaffirmed”.

Calling on Agbaje to join hands with him to move
the state forward, he said “The task ahead
requires concerted efforts from everyone. I urge
all my opponents to put the election struggles
behind them and in the spirit of sportsmanship join
hands with me to take Lagos to the next level.”

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Habib
Aruna, the governor noted that “It was needless in
the first place for the PDP to have petitioned my
election which was adjudged to be free, fair and
credible. Now that the right thing has been done
which of course the people expected, we should all
come together above partisanship and move the
state forward”

Olanipekun had argued at the resumed hearing on
Thursday, June 25, that the petition should be
struck out for being incompetent and that there
was no correlation between the relief sought by
the petitioner and the particulars of application
on one hand and the grounds for questioning the
election of Ambode on the other hand.

“The grounds and particulars in the petition are
at opposites with the facts and reliefs being
sought within the purview of Section 285(2) of the
1999 Constitution. I urge my Lordships to dismiss
the petition,” Olanipekun had said.

He stated that there is nowhere in the pleadings
where the petitioners attacked the victory of the
respondents or questioned the conduct of the
election, saying “I submit that there is no petition
before your lordships known to law. There are no
grounds challenging the election of my client under
Section 138(b)(c) of the Electoral Act 2010 as
amended.”

Lagos PDP rejects verdict

Meanwhile, the Lagos PDP has vowed to appeal the
ruling said it as petitioned the National Judicial
Commission, NJC, for “necessary disciplinary
actions.”

In a statement by its publicity secretary, Mr
Taofik Gani, the party lamented that “We are very
jolted and embarrassed that our petition can die
prematurely without it been heard on the merit.”

“We think there is a miscarriage of justice here.
We are interested in the motive and motivators.
The panel held that it had jurisdiction to hear our
appeal; that our grounds are also competent. It
however held that the petition had no life because
it didn’t include a relief for re-election. This is
supposed to be determined during the proper trial.

We put as relief a declaration that we be returned
as validly elected. The panel cannot dictate to us
what relief to demand. Why should the Panel even
expect a relief for re-rerun instead of declaration
as winner?”.

It, however, vowed to challenge the tribunal ruling
saying “we will not allow this miscarriage. Is this
the change APC wants to give us in the judiciary.”
PDP pursuing a lost case — Lagos APC
Also reacting to the ruling, Lagos State APC, said
the party did not expect anything less, as PDP is
pursuing a lost case.

The party, however, stated that the dismissal of
the case filed by Lagos PDP against Ambode has
rested the inordinate ambition of PDP to steal
Lagos by force.

Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Joe Igbokwe
said “it is a well deserved victory by all standard.
The people of Lagos have spoken and there is no
going back. It is an affirmation of the peoples’ will
and the PDP know it. PDP does not exist in
Lagos.”

He said “We told them that Lagos is not for grabs
but this party will not listen, and now they have
been told that light and darkness have no meeting
point. Millions of dollars and pound sterlings, OPC,
and all the security agencies were massively
deployed by Jonathan and PDP just to snatch
Lagos but they failed.”

Igbokwe contended that PDP can never get
anything near to the so-called votes they claimed
to have scored in the last governorship elections

Romance7 Things You Should Never Do After Sex by oluvick(op): 9:37am On Jun 23, 2015
Making love is not just about the intimacy but
also about the actions before and after the
act. Your behavior means a lot to your
partner and also is the basis of your future
acts of intimacy.

People often take their partner for granted
and behave in a boorish manner. It surely
steals the charm of your relationship and also
annoys your partner. Here are some things
you must never do after making love.

1. Rushing to the bathroom
Getting up and rushing to the bathroom just
after making love is a terrible idea.
Most people go to the bathroom to check their
appearance, brush their teeth or take a
shower.

It is understandable that you want to be
clean but sometimes just lying in the bed with
your partner is much more intimate.

2. Unhygienic Body movements
Making Love is an act in which you share your
whole privacy with your partner; still there
are limits.

Scratching or picking your nose or passing
gas in not at all funny.

One must maintain certain etiquette even in
their closest moments together.

3. Checking your Mobile
Almost everyone does it. Checking your Mobile
phone just after intimacy makes your partner
feel neglected.

We know your time is valuable and you need to
stay connected to the world, but the intimate
moment with your partner is also a precious
one, respect that.

4. Dressing to leave
You are done and you are moving on, certainly
it means the sex was just another task on
your mind.

You may be getting late for work but a minute
togetherness when you look into your partners
eyes and bond goes a long way in your
relationship.

5. Saying how good you didn't were
You need not toot your own horn. You may
feel that you were superhuman in bed today
but saying that makes it cringe worthy.

It is better to compliment your partner and if
she/he feels you were good they will certainly
say so.

6. Turning on the TV
Listening to the problems of the free world or
catching the latest score just after some
great intimacy may seem to be a very relaxing
and luxurious idea but actually it is not.

It shows your insensitivity towards the
intimacy you just shared. If you have to watch
TV, select something both of you can watch
together.

7. Not cuddling
Some people just roll over and go to sleep
after making love. It’s better to cuddle and
show your love and affection to each other.

Look into each other’s eyes and relax in your
partner’s arms. This is a great moment to
bond and have a romantic conversation about
your love, dreams and life.

HealthSickle Cell Disease: Nigeria Has Largest Cases In The World – Research by oluvick(op): 9:13pm On Jun 20, 2015
Ilorin – Nigeria has the largest population of
people with Sickle Cell Disease in the world, with
over 150,000 babies born with the serious
condition every year, researches have shown.

Mr Lanre Alege, a Pharmacist with the University
of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, said this in a lecture
delivered during June edition of the keep fit
exercise for staff of the hospital at the Kwara
stadium on Saturday.

He said it was estimated that only five per cent of
the children with Sickle Cell Disease live past the
age of 10 in Nigeria, compared to over 96 per cent
surviving into adulthood in the United Kingdom and
the United States.

Alege, who is the Coordinator of the programme,
also disclosed that the recurrent pain and
complications of the disease can interfere with
many aspects of patients life, including education,
employment and psychological development.

He said that Sickle Cell Disease is a genetic
disorder due to the presence of an abnormal form
of haemoglobin in the red blood cells, called
haemoglobin S (Hb S) instead of haemoglobin A (Hb
A)

According to him, the red blood cells
(Erythrocytes) may contain normal haemoglobin AA
only, a mixture of A and S (Hb AS) or S only.

“Persons with AS haemoglobin have sickle cell
traits, and are referred to as sickle cell carriers,
while those with haemoglobin SS only (Hb SS)
suffers from sickle cell disease.

“Those with AA are normal without sickle cell
traits.
“Haemoglobin in the red blood cell is responsible
for the transportation of oxygen in the body,” he
said.
Alege said that the topic, ‘Sickle Cell Disease’ was
carefully chosen because June 19 of every year is
celebrated as world Sickle Cell Day, and Nigeria
joined the rest of the world to celebrate it on
Friday.

According to him, there is presently no cure for
sickle cell disease, but the cost effective
treatment exists for the pain and other aspects of
the disease.

He listed the most important components of the
treatment to include early interventions with
analgesics, antibiotics, rest, good nutrition, folic
acid supplementation and high fluid intake.
“At times, invasive procedures such as blood
transfusion and surgery may be needed. Sickle Cell
Disease is completely preventable,” he added.

Among the recommendations, he gave, for the
prevention are that carriers should not marry AS
or SS, education about inheritable nature of the
disease.

He stressed the need for public education to
determine genotype, so that incompatible people do
not fall into love let alone marry each other.
RomanceWomen Who Call God ’s Name During Sex Should Be Jailed : Senior Pastor by oluvick(op): 8:51pm On Jun 20, 2015
Dr . John Hagee , the founder and senior
pastor of the Cornerstone Church in San
Antonio, Texas , not only agrees with what
the Bible says , but also takes the faith to a
higher level .

One of the things that the Bible has consequently denounced is the taking of the Lord ’ s name in vain . Speaking exclusively with Newslo, Hagee stated that ; in this world of crimes and deaths that sorry understand us, a simple blasphemy does not get that much attention when it should .”

“ Saying the Lord ’ s name in vain might seem
petite and insignificant compared to some of
the things that are going on in the world
right now , even in churches all across
America . But , that’ s precisely the problem . If
the shepherds of a faith start doing wrong,
what is the flock supposed to do ? Follow in
their footsteps? I don’ t think so. The
flockneeds to get its bearings and start
thinking for itself .

But, nowadays you have people committing sin
everywhere you look, including Houses of God ,
which are the holiest of places . ”

Asked how the situation could be corrected,
Hagee replied:

“ Well, we’ d have to start with ourselves , as
with everything in life. If you’ re asking about
my personal opinion, there is no greater sin in
terms of wrongly using God ’s name than
women who use it during sex. That is one of
the filthiest , most derogatory and sinful uses
of the Lord ’s name I can think of . If it were
up to me , I would put every single woman or
girl who does that in jail. That would be a fine
example of God ’ s wrath aimed at what is , in
my opinion, a terrible misuse of our Maker’ s
good name” .

SportsI Am Ready To Buy Arsenal At ‘whatever Price’ — Dangote by oluvick(op): 8:18pm On Jun 17, 2015
Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote insists that soon
he will have ‘enough time and enough resources’ to
buy Arsenal football club, whatever the price.

Dangote, 58, is Africa’s richest man having
amassed a fortune in the region of $18.4 billion
(£12.2 billion). He is currently the 67th richest man
in the world.

He first spoke of his interest in purchasing the
Gunners last month when he admitted that ‘one
day’ he hoped to buy the club, adding that he
‘already knew’ his strategy to take them forward.

That day may arrive sooner than first expected,
with Dangote telling the BBC Tuesday that
completion of his proposed oil refinery in Nigeria
will provide the funds necessary to launch a
takeover of the club.

“When we get this refinery on track, I will have
enough time and enough resources to pay what
they are asking for,” he told BBC Hausa.

“There were a couple of us who were rushing to
buy, and we thought with the prices then, the
people who were interested in selling were trying
to go for a kill,” Dangote continued.

“We backtracked, because we were very busy doing
other things, especially our industrialisation.”

“They are doing well, but they need another
strategic direction,” he added. “They need more
direction than the current situation, where they
just develop players and sell them.”

Stan Kroenke is Arsenal’s majority shareholder,

PoliticsBuhari Gets Better With Age – Femi Adesina by oluvick(op): 8:05pm On Jun 17, 2015
President Muhammadu Buhari has said that despite
his age, he still remains the good old incorrigible
man that Nigerians know him.

In a statement in Abuja the Special Adviser to the
President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina
said the remarks attributed to the President while
speaking with the Nigerian community in South
Africa that he wished he was younger as a
president was taken out of context.

President Buhari had wished he was younger as the
President of Nigeria.

Femi Adesina said: ”Speaking extempore, because
according to him, he wanted to “speak from the
heart,” the President urged them to be good
ambassadors of Nigeria, a country he went to the
warfront to keep together.

Still extolling the virtues of our country, Nigeria,
the President, who had served as a military
governor of the then North-Eastern State at 33
years old, declared:”I wish I became Head of State
when I was a governor. Now at 72, there is a limit
to what I can do.”

“The above comments have been reported by some
newspapers to mean that the President was saying
he was too old to cope with the demands of his
office. Far from it.

“As the saying goes, “old wines are tasty” and the
President Buhari we have today is a man, like old
wine, that has got tastier. At 72, yes, he can’t be
called a youth, but he has in quantum the wisdom,
the patience, temperance and forbearance that age
brings. And all these virtues he has brought to the
Presidency, to make a difference in our national
life.

“The President assured the Nigerian community in
South Africa that his Administration will make a
positive impact on the country. And that he would
do.

“Insecurity as symbolized by insurgency will be
brought to an end, corruption will be fought to a
standstill, employment will be created for the
teeming army of unemployed, the economy will be
revived, and the quality of life of Nigerians will
take an upward swing again. These will not come by
a sudden flight, but they will happen in the life of
this Administration.

“At 72, the Buhari persona has not changed. He
remains the simple, honest, incorruptible patriot he
has always been. And because Nigerians earnestly
desired change, that was why they voted for him
overwhelmingly at the general elections in March,
this year. All the virtues and values of the Buhari
persona will be deployed into governance in the
weeks and months ahead.

“The Nigerian community in South Africa was
enthralled as President Buhari spoke with them on
Monday. In fact, leaving the venue was an effort,
as they swarmed round the President, who shook
hands with as many of them as he could.

“They took his message well. That is the essence of
good wine. It gets better with age. And it is a
message for all Nigerians, both at home and in the
Diaspora” the statement said.

Politics‘Why Jonathan Deserves Nobel Peace Prize’ by oluvick(op):
BENIN CITY—MR Jude Imagwe, a former Special
Assistant to President Jonathan Goodluck
Jonathan on Youths, said yesterday that his
former boss deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for
accepting defeat in the last presidential elections.

According to Imagwe, “If not for his calm attitude
and his not being crazy for power, Nigeria would
have been burning today. The people must not
forget the sacrifice made by this man to save
Nigeria.”

He lampooned the forrmer Governor of Bayelsa
State, Timipre Sylva, who recently said that
conceding defeat by the former President should
not be seen as an achievement, therefore,
suggested that the former President should not be
given a hero’s status.

Imagwe, who spoke to newsmen in Benin City,
shortly after a thanksgiving service for a
successful tenure, at the Saint John Vianney
Catholic Church, stressed that Jonathan’s singular
act disappointed doomsday prophets, who had
predicted that the country would be plunged into
bloodshed after the 2015 general elections.
