Crime / Re: 'God Heals Me Each Time I Smoke Weed'- Crippled Man Says In Calabar (pic by oluvick(m): 4:58pm On Mar 13, 2018
Number one, that man is not cripple! I have been seeing him around watt market for years. In fact, that picture taken right in front of Cathedral Church Of Holy Trinity, Anglican Communion, Calabar.

Number two, Efik is a proud nation but that man begs. He would always speak in Efik "please, give me money let me buy garri". I encounter him daily and he'll always ask for money.

Three, truly, he burns himself with weed and cigarettes.

Enough said. I know him wella.

ExInferis:
If his name is Yeshua, which in English is Joshua, why are you calling him Jesus?

You're worshiping the wrong messiah.

The Greek word "Ιησούς" is what we have as Jesus. The one you have up there is Hebrew.

See this:

The proper name Jesus /ˈdʒiːzəs/ used in the English language originates from the Latin form of the Greek name Ἰησοῦς (Iēsous), a rendition of the Hebrew Yeshua (ישוע), also having the variants Joshua or Jeshua. In a religious context the name refers to Jesus, the central figure of Christianity.

thank you.

Family / Please Help My Father Get His Pension! by oluvick(m): 9:33pm On Sep 20, 2017
I have been around for a while and I have seen many people get help here. I want to be one of the testifiers!

Here goes:

My father was in the army. He served for 12 years and eleven months. He left service in 1979. He said he was paid gratuity.

At the point of discharge, he said that the pension paper was removed from the documents given to him but he went to the pension office in Lagos (he served in Calabar) and was given the pension paper back. But, the money has not been paid. He went back to the office in Lagos and was told the money would be sent. He later reduced his movements to pension office in Akure and was told that the money would be sent but nothing was done. He got tired and relaxed.

It's almost 40 years now and nothing has been done. When I asked if the number of years were not enough to enable him get pension, he said that the people that served for 10 years and those that spent same number of years with him and left service that same time with him were (and are still) paid their pensions.

Your opinions are highly needed to enable us get the money for him. This is important to him this time, good people.

Thanks. God bless you.

Patrick Edet, while serving in the Catholic Diocese of Uyo, ran a ‘Pentecostal-styled’ fellowship called Grace Family Outreach within the Catholic structure.

The ignorance in the world is alarming! Roman Catholic Church is not same as Catholic Church. The man can only resign from Roman Catholic Church and NOT Catholic Church. Resigning from Catholic Church means he's no longer a Christian!

Catholic means universal. And, Roman Catholic Church does not covers the entire Body of Christ!

Politics / Nigeria’s President, Reportedly In London, Is Alive Or Dead? by oluvick(m): 11:19am On May 21, 2017
UK uninterested in whether Nigeria’s president, reportedly in London, is alive or dead?

Nigeria is one of the most important countries in the world. It’s by far the largest country in Africa; it’s the fastest growing economy there by a long chalk. Nigerians all over the world hold positions of power and importance.

From a UK perspective, one of the largest contingents of secret service (‘Mi6’) in the world is in Nigeria. Why? Because more than anywhere else, Nigeria represents a confluence of developing and developed world, feudal religious instincts and modernity. In many ways, Nigeria’s progress is Africa’s progress. So if there’s a big thing going on in Nigeria, the UK knows about it alright.

Two years ago, Nigeria held a presidential election in which something remarkable happened. The underdog (albeit a former general and temporary leader of the nation) won and the incumbent president politely conceded then stood down. Nigeria presented a profoundly responsible face to the world.

President Buhari took office promising to clean up Nigeria’s business and culture and move Nigeria into a new era. And he’d started to do just that. Notably, he recently succeeded in having the kidnapped Chibok girls released.

I have an interest in all of this. During Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign, I organised supportive meetings on his behalf at Westminster; always on behalf of Nigerians and never off my own bat. I had nothing personal against his decent predecessor, but I felt that the new ere of politics Muhammadu Buhari represented, was a good thing. I also felt that successive UK governments, and the UK parliament, had given the (now previous) Nigerian government too easy a ride. President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration was talking a good game but doing little of any substance to help the people of Nigeria.

Ultimately, of course, it was a matter for Nigerians. Not all have been fans of President Buhari, but most today recognise his essential decency and his determination to help Nigeria to the world status it deserves.

For two days, some sources have been reporting that President Buhari has died in a London hospital. Other sources, including the presidency, have been denying this, but not very convincingly. A general rule of thumb for any leader anywhere is that if people think you’re dead then you get yourself on the telly alive, immediately. So maybe there’s a bit of a temporary cover-up involved? And if there is, it’s hard to imagine the UK’s security service (‘Mi5) doesn’t know about it and have folk all over the place inside the hospital in question.

The most striking thing in all of this is that the UK media doesn’t seem to give a toss either way – few outlets have publish anything at all on the subject.

It’s Africa and not a famine; it’s Nigeria but not corruption, you see. No NGO comment or interest necessary.

UK coverage of Africa is dominated by white journalists who pop from country to country and claim special knowledge. The news agencies are populated by young white journalists working in effect as stringers, often little more than kids taking a year out having a wee adventure. The NGOs who work mainly on Africa are so white it’s a disgrace. Perhaps if each employed a few more Africans we’d get some decent and serious coverage of that continent.

For now, we can just wait and wonder on the fate of a president in London.

If you go to where some people process garri, you will not like to ever drink it again.

And may I add that most villagers who process garri are not patient to fry the garri properly. Instead they fry a little and spread it under the sun for it to dry. While under the sun on the ground rodent normally have a field's day on it.

Cholera came, you told us not to drink dirty water; not to eat dirty food or eat anyhow. You told us to drink clean water, eat clean and well prepared food.

WE OBEYED.

Bird flu came, you told us to ensure that we prepare and cook our birds (chicken) very well, fry them wella and keep them healthy. Hmmmm, whoever has the time for all these procedures and protocols.....but still

WE OBEYED

Ebola came, you lectured us on how to stay away from bat (that sweet and delicious meat); and, other bush allowances (sorry, Bush meat). We struggled; we mumbled; we grumbled; we complained terribly; but, at the end, we reluctantly caved in........

WE OBEYED

Now, Lassa fever, you said we should stay away from rats (those little rodents). Honestly, we have nothing against this instruction. We welcomed it. Who wants those little nuisance jumping up and down in the house anyway? We avoided them like a plaque. (but wait oh, rats are delicious delicacies so don't get it twisted. Just stay away from Okon Calabar)

Where we now have issues is when you said we should stay away from Garri (God bless that food;saving students since 9BC)and cold water. Are you kidding us right now?! Who does that? Do you know what is means to walk or work in the hot sunny day? Do you have any idea the satisfaction one derives from garri and cold water on a good day (especially with fried fish, sugar, salt, milk, etc)? What is the relationship between Lassa rats and garri with cold water?

At this stage, we think you have gone a bit too far! Why? See rat is rat; garri and cold water is not to be mentioned here.

So spare us this lecture, it will not work. Garri and cold water, saving Nigerians and/or students since 9BC.

GARRI, God bless that food!

Politics / Re: Saudi Arabia Man Claim he Fall Accidentally and Penetrated His Maid by oluvick(m): 9:32pm On Dec 16, 2015
Property developer Ehsan Abdulaziz, 46, was accused of forcing himself on the teenager as she slept off a night of drinking on the sofa of his Maida Vale flat.
A Saudi millionaire who claims he accidentally fell on and penetrated an 18-year-old woman in Britain has been cleared of one count of rape.
Ehsan Abdulaziz, 46 was accused of raping the woman as she slept on his sofa after bringing her and her 24-year-old friend home from a London nightclub, the Telegraph reports.
The woman was with her friend, who was known to Abdulaziz, at the Cirque le Soir nightclub on Aug. 7, 2014. After inviting both to join him at his CA $2,000-a-night table, the millionaire brought the two women back to his home.
The court heard Abdulaziz gave the two women vodka to drink before leading the 24-year-old woman to another room to have sex. When the 18- year-old awoke the next morning, she told the court Abdulaziz was on top of her and raping her.
Abdulaziz said he accidentally fell on the 18-year- old woman after she seduced him. He said she pulled him toward her and placed his hand between her legs. He claimed he was only trying to offer her something to wear or a taxi ride home.
“I’m fragile,” he said. “I fell down but nothing ever happened, between me and this girl nothing ever happened.”
His DNA was found inside the 18-year-old girl and he claims he could have had semen on his hands after having sex with her 24-year-old friend. Prosecutor Jonathan Davies accused Abdulaziz of changing his story after being confronted with the DNA evidence.
“On this occasion he said after he had sex with the complainant’s friend his penis was still erect and he had semen on his hands when he went into the living room,” Davies said.
“He said in the second interview she pushed his hands down on to her vagina. He said that he did fall onto her and his penis may have penetrated her vagina. You may consider, members of the jury, him changing the account he was giving.”
A jury acquitted Abdulaziz after only 30 minutes of deliberations.

Yenagoa - Governor Seriake Dickson of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) and Timipre Sylva of the
All Progressives Congress (APC) appear to be
running neck and neck in Saturday’s governorship
election in Bayelsa State, reports NewsDay.

Results collated so far by the Independent
National Electoral Commission (INEC) indicate that
the election is too close to call.

Collation of the results went far into the night on
Saturday but a clearer picture is expected to

badly in some of the areas it considered its
strongholds, including the neighbourhood of
Government House, Yenagoa.

Results from Ekeremor, Brass, Kolokuma/Opokuma,

showed that Sylva had pulled ahead of Dickson,
although the Governor was on top in Sagbama
Local Government area.
