Not at all. I just walked in there yesterday morning and submitted for me and my wife.
Got that done in 30 minutes or less. If you're submitting on behalf of someone else, ensure to print a copy of their passport data page alongside your own. Also print and complete the form that authorises third party submission.

I just wonder what the turn-around time for the passport is.
Thanks a lot I will let her know then.

No need to book for passport submission at the VAC, you can walk into VFS on any week day/ non- holiday to drop off.
Thank you, I thought it only applied to Lagos VAC, good to know it's same for Abj

Hello Dr.
Pls if I redo my English test and max out, I will be at 465 correct. Now I have just observed that the last draw on health was cut at 463. With my 465 and hoping on the next draw, are there chances that the cut off will be higher than 465, and if it is higher, what bcoms my fate? Shebi I will still remain in the pool hopelessly.
There are chances that the score will be higher just as there are chances it will be lower. The important thing is to be in the pool . You are not hopelessly remaining in the pool, Health and Trade are the two category based draws that will continue for some time, if you missed this one at least you are sure there will be another one, plus there is OINP as well you might get NOI. It has always been a game of chance with a high CRS score placing you at an advantage.

Yes. It's the same thing. But what I'm confused about now is here. Where does this OD fall? I think it is pretty much the professional cert that requires a license. Before now I have selected the option that says bachelor's degree of 3 years or more.

Damn.. I can't believe I am just beginning to take a closer look at all of these.
Ah toh I fear oo you were losing points due to selecting the wrong educational qualifications be that. As I said before OD falls in the second to the last option masters/professional degree requiring license to practice.

i used WES. when i selected my highest education attained on ircc Exp Ent website, i chose bachelor of 3 years or more. Then on wes my qualification was evaluated as undergraduate uni education
Weird, I used WES as well and every other colleague I know of used WES as well and report always states 6 years of professional study. Are you certain you chose the correct evaluation i.e document by document for immigration?

SemperFid:
Yes, very good point. Thank you.
Should I redo ielts or take celpip?
It really is up to you, have you written Celpip before? Things to consider will be 1. testing centre, IELTS is written in several locations while Celpip can only be taken in Lagos I think, so if you are not already in Lagos that could be extra cost.
2. Testing style, you've written IELTS twice now you should be pretty familiar with their testing style , but then again people say Celpip is easier.
3. Which is the cheaper option IELTS or Celpip? grin

Thanks so much. You've been very helpful. I've used the calculator to quantify all my options and it turns out taking the TEF exam will give me the highest boost all things being equal. That's what I'll do.

Can you recommend a tutor?
You are very welcome!! Learning French and writing the TEF is no walk in the park though, that's about a 1-2 years commitment, so I would still advice you rewrite your language test be in the pool with the 425 while learning French.
As for a tutor I sadly can't recommend any, I know of Alliance Francais and institut Francais French schools , but you can check page 1 of this thread I think there is a link to the TEF thread and you'd get more guidance there.

Thank you for your response.
It's Doctor of Optometry degree as a matter of fact. But i just mentioned the bachelor's because it's a first degree 6 years program.

I did the general first and scored 7.5 everything then I got into the pool but everything has been quiet so I decided to try out academic. I needed to apply for an MSc Vision Science program in the U.S and take advantage of the funding options available. I scored 8.5 on the acada and have sent my application and just hoping for the best.

Now I haven't forgotten about my express entry pool even though nothing is happening. It looks like I'll be needing to redo my language tests. I heard about CELPIP, and the popular opinion is that it's somewhat better, so I intend to write celpip this time. If I max out on my language tests, my crs will be 425. So I still need something to take it up.
Oh ok cool, when you mentioned bachelors it gave the wrong impression, regardless of it being a first degree you are awarded OD not BSc smiley, anyways you definitely should rewrite the language test, 425 is not that high of a CRS score but it will definitely boost your chances of getting NOI from Ontario or you might even be lucky to get Federal ITA the next time they do a health category based draw, because apart from learning French and writing TEF there really isn't much you can do to improve your score again.

Thank you very much. Let me search for a quick certificate course.
However, are you saying out of the three actions u listed I must complete 2. My highest degree is my Optometry bachelors and I am using it to work as an optometrist now. If I find a related certificate program and complete, and then redo my language to score atleast 8.0 which won't be hard because I already scored 8.5 in academic. Then if I achieve these, I will be good to go?
Hi Optometrist here, you don't need an additional certificate course as OD is evaluated as Masters/professional degree requiring license to practice and the only thing that will give you more points than that is if you have PhD. However like you mentioned, you can try to max out your IELTS, if you are married your spouse should also write IELTS and evaluate their education credentials this should boost your CRS score a little, learning French is also an option.
Ps. You mentioned optometry bachelors? I don't know of any Nigerian university that awards BSc Optometry, on the off chance that you are not Nigerian if that is indeed what you have, then you can definitely look into getting a second cert. Also its IELTS general that is used for express entry not academic because you said something about getting 8.5 in IELTS academic.

Has anyone experience this before, i have previous biometrics 2019, and i applied again this year, first I was sent a letter for biometrics, I Ignore, and it was later updated, and after a month now, I am sent a letter again. So, I should go for a fresh biometrics or I should ignore, I need advice and past experience. Thanks
Per new requirements you have to give biometrics again even if you have given in the last 10 years, and seeing as the letter was sent to you twice If I were you I will just go and do it. It may just be the only thing holding your approval.

Is eligibility same as background check ? Which is done first ?
No it's not, on the tracker eligibility is completed but background verification is still in progress 🤣. From my knowledge on PR application sha, eligibility is completed when they verify all your documents and access them to be genuine, while Bg verification is to check your criminal records in your country and other countries they share information with. I am guessing it's same for TRVs. I think anyone can be done first depending on the VO that picks your file.
