Ifeanyi Ifeanyi lost his hold on the CM to the technically superior Ghanaians. His deft touches went missing ,though he regained some authority in the second half.

Tony Okpotu is still struggling to establish his presence in this competition. A very physical player but yet to prove himself...Maybe he is fatigued.

Rabiu Ali though beefed with some skills but I don't think he is the best we can offer. I am not impressed for a no 10. He loses ball easily and that disorganizes our play.

That guy call John should never wear green white green again.....Very, very poor player. Ball control ZERO,pass ZERO....Where the he'll is Edwo?

[quote author=realjoker post=60529756]And why shouldn't he call Igbo out when Liepod youths are the one perpetrating all sorts of crimes in their country? [why the

I think this is one of the reason why that thing you called Nigeria is a disgrace of a nation. An inferior mind like you will never see past your sentiments and hatred toward a people who has no contributions on what your country has become.

Firstly,South Africans has been selling and dealing drugs before the demoralized and disenfranchised Igbos/Nigerians(because other Nigerians are there too committing crime and I won't name any tribe because tribe didn't put us in our present condition) started moving to South Africa for greener pastures because of the wickedness and sufferings the leadership of this country has laden the people with. Do not bring tribe into this because crime knows no tribe. Its in every tribe.

As for the South African guy, your country though developed and mostly build up and organized still suffer some of the most shameful crime occurring in any society.....RAPE! Rape in South Africa happen like a market women quarrel in Nigeria. Your citizens are the biggest drug users in Africa and that's who Nigerians supply...Drug has eaten so deep into your society but you want to blame Igbos....Nigga you have nothing over Igbos.

Again,I didn't come here to compare a shhithole like Nigeria to your country but keep Igbos out your mouth because you are not better than anybody!

Why are you always calling out Igbo people ? And I am not here to compare South Africa to Nigeria because that is ridiculous. Yes,SA is too advanced to be compared to Nigeria which is a very poor and third world country. But what's up with you and Igbo ?

Kelechi need serious prayers if he can't show his quality in this average Leicester team, especially when he plays the SS role.

He got little of the ball, leceister has been under pressure. I think lhenacho loses physical battles easily sometimes. However he was slightly instrumental to the foul that gave away the penalty for leceister's equalizer.
Its simple,Iheanacho is not a striker/top 9. As soon as they start playing him in his natural position the quickest they get the best out of him.

He is good but you must remember they played Seirrealeone. He is tall and strong but may lack positioning and experience, l would invite him to the camp of the Eagles to see him train, but not for an outright replacement of Ekong just yet except in friendlies or games with little at stake.
Sure ,not an outright replacement for Ekong but Ekong is definitely not our best. Dude panics under pressure and give away passes.

Of all the outfield players, Eneji is the only one that i would invite to the super eagles to try out. Classic winger. I will like to see him again.
He was great but we are not short on the wings...Doesn't he remind you of Ejike Uzoenyi of CHAN ? So you wouldn't invite Stephen Eze? I find him more confident than Troost Ekong...Lets be honest with ourselves Troost has been average lately. I don't mind trying out Eze and Balogun just to see how it clicks.

Aremu,Azeez was full of runnings and hard work and did all dirty work for Ifeanyi,Mathias and Rabiu and I can see why he wasn't the most entertaining players on the night. He held that defensive midfielder down with great strength...rubs me off as a cloned Olofinjana who I don't care much for.

Eduwo is a baller with so much gritz and gut. He is a workaholic that is yet to be rewarded for his hard work. His first touch is better that Iheanacho's....lol.

Tony Okpotu failed to live up to his rating. For a guy with the decorations of the highest goal scorer in the just concluded league season more is expected from the net rattler. I have followed Tony Okpotu from his time at Lobi stars of Makurdi and defenders feared him. He didn't play his best game but I know he can do better...Keep your heads up brother.

Ifeanyi Ifeanyi is a player with so much class and elegance...He controlled the midfield seamlessly. He passes are so simple yet causes so much headache for the opposition. With the more experienced Rabiu Ali on the pitch Ifeanyi was playing a little deep in the center.

Rabiu Ali is a top performer any day. For a guy of his age it looks like he still has a lot to offer. Full of skills and tricks and never stopped running and combined well with Mathias and Ifeanyi.

Stephen Eze of the home-based SE is another Balogun in the making. Dude is a top performer with excellent aerial abilities. He is good with his feet and nothing go past him. He marshalled that defense like a trojan....In fact,he is my MOTM.

Ariwachukwu is another hard man with good ball playing abilities. He is persistent and never lets off, also he is equally good in the air.

The left back Chima Akas of Enyimba is yet to recreate the form he is known for....His famous thunderous left foot has been missing and why is he taking free kicks like he used to. The is a fantastic ball player and loves going forward.

Osamudiamen Okoro was poor in defending and fantastic going forward...Fine,he is an adventurer but must remember his primary goal is defending. His position was exploited all through the match as Aremu and Stephen struggled to keep the highly technical Siera Leone's at bay.

He probably wouldn't have won the MOTM is we played a top team. Some of the shots he saved were mostly poor attempts from the Siera Leone's. However,I am not taking anything away from him because I have always believed in him.

And whoever said that was right ,all NPFL strikers are one season hit and they hit the rocks. Sometime ago I have highlighted why this keep happening I mean one season a player scores 20 goals and next he bits the dust. Its the the ills that comes with playing in the Nigerian league, the bad management, poor remuneration very hostile environment and the players desperation to seek better option abroad which usually ends in disaster.

We can all remember players who shook the NPFL with their goal scoring exploits but soon after this accomplishment they went missing...Emeka Nwanna of Rangers and Enyimba,Wobo Uwaezoke of Enyimba,Jude Aneke of Warri Wolves just to name a few have all bit the dust. Sad. And this trend will not change if further changes are not made in the way clubs and the league are run.

Well kinda complicated to say.... it depends on how Rohr intends to utilise Etebor for the foreseeable future.

Rohr has only used him in central midfield as part of the double pivot with Onazi against Algeria and as the AMF against South Africa....

Rohr has not tried him out on the wings yet... so it's hard to say which of the positions Etebor is limited to and then define his place based on pecking order from there.

But let me do a quick analysis of this....

On the wings he will be behind the likes of Iwobi, Musa and Simon Moses.... even Henry Onyekuru may get a look in on the wings before Etebor.

Note: VicMo is King already on both right and left flanks. wink

Others not yet invited which are wingers (left/right) are also Samuel Adegbenro and Samuel Kalu, etc...

In the SS role... Etebor will definitely be behind Iheanacho...

In the AMF role... he is behind Mikel Obi, Iheanacho and maybe even an Iwobi (Rohr knows about Iwobi's central AMF abilities and have seen him play there for Arsenal too).

In the Central/defensive midfield... He is behind Ndidi and Onazi... he competes with Agu and Ogu for that third slot from the bench. And from the last match, Rohr preferred to bring in Agu.

So it depends Sir Odenigbo... smiley
Nice to see you dissect the team in such a fine details. Indeed as talented and valued as Etebor is he seem sadly down the pecking order. Which says only one thing that Super Eagles is loaded with immense talents....BUT ARENT YOU FORGETTING SOMEBODY....JOEL L OBI ?

TheSuperNerd:
It will be hard to play Etebor ahead of either Moses on the wings.... At CD Feirense, Etebo wears the no.10 jersey and plays mainly as a LWF or Left sided AMF (Left midfielder) in a 4-2-3-1....

Also, when Iwobi returns... more competition for Etebor either centrally or on the wings....

Hard seeing past an Ndidi-Onazi double pivot also... Even though we saw Onazi-Etebor against Algeria with Mikel as AMF on both occasions.

I would love to see Ndidi-Etebor tried out someday... but that may remain not possible for now because I don't see Rohr dropping Onazi Plus Onazi did his place in the team a whole world of good with a beautiful performance on the overall.

So Etebor like Iheanacho will likely provide more depth from the bench.

As time goes on... we are seeing the team take shape... and evolve... Sometimes the opposition will dictate who starts for us and at other times.. we go with our proper first XI.... it all depends.
I would think that at some point Rohr will substitute Simon Moses, move Vic Moses to the right and unleash Etebor in the Left midfield; Or sub Mikel for Etebor.

In the the match against Cameroon when Mikel was substituted I was thinking Etebor would come in and now I was like has he gone down the pecking order ??...hmm. Is Mikel Agu above Etebor in the pecking order ?

I do not see Rohr playing Ola Aina for Echiejile. Not from the beginning of the match at least. Perhaps if we are winning or the game is grinding towards the end.
Ola Aina is definitely not starting the match. Not because Echiejile is indispensable but because we have a momentum and a winning team and we don't wanna experiment now.

How can you guys forget the WORKAHOLIC Etebor so easily. Nawa ooo.
On a serious not I think Rohr should try him on the wing....His role need to be defined so we can can give a better evaluation. Etebor,to me is a midfield/winger/ss kind of player but his role hasn't been defined. Super Eagles has so much depth.

Mickael2:
I may be in the minority but I totally agree with Colin Udoh. This win was more about quality players than quality tactics.

The first 12minutes was so poor that a top team would be a few goals up by then, and at the end we started looking for VicMo and Mikel anyhow, just get the ball to them, against a top team we cannot use that tactic at all.

Anyways as always I have a few stuffs to say. First I don't think Moses Simon was just okay. I can't remember where I saw the stats but he completed zero take-ons on the day, missed a sitter and people repeatedly mistaked him for Ndidi, after watching the match again I saw that it was Ndidi that was helping out Shehu not Moses Simon, and Onazi put in a nice shift too, but I don't think Moses Simon is the best we have there, the sitter he missed there showed that his decision making is still average but the guy provides a lot of width and a passing outlet so I can concur.

Then I come to Onazi, relax he impressed even me, but not as the DMF on the day. The guy is that kind of little defenders that will never go away, perfect for a fullback role honestly. There was a time one player like that skinned him totally but he kept on chasing him, a normal defender would give up and start convering. There was another time they dribbled him to the ground but the next second he was up and chasing the ball. Brilliant commitment from the guy but he can't give what he doesn't have. In this game his positioning increased but I don't understand who the fault was from, he was not covering the entire backline, he was more concerned with covering the right side, maybe that was the coach directing him however I think the guy can do a solid job at LB, against a top team does spaces he kept on leaving all match long will be punished, as simple as that.

Shehu was the one that impressed me most. His ball control is perfect, marking isnt so bad and most important of all he is never caught out of position, yet he did attack well. To be honest I don't see Aina walking straight into the team, Shehu was very well balanced yesterday that was why VicMo had to switch wings so he can go and help out Echejile when they saw that Shehu is complete, I think the boy deserves more respect here, big ups to Icon4s for having faith in him.

Leon understand perfectly well what it means to be a sweeper. You can go and check, Omeruo's stats(tackles won) last season was better than his own but what makes Leon better is that he understands what it means to be the last man. You don't commit at all, you don't have any business going one-on-one with a player, all you do is you position well so that when your own player is beaten you will be right there that instance to clear the ball. I think he was confronted only once the whole match but you could see him clearing the ball more than once, he was always a step ahead of the attacker whenever he gets past the fullback, brilliant brilliant football brain and it came with age.

I also have to pay due respect to goldfish, he did mention that our slow start could be a problem and it happened again. He did mention that Ighalo would be perfect and he delivered. He was not among those calling for Iheanacho's do or die inclusion and it paid, theGoodjoe you can learn a thing or two from him.

If we could rest our top players in the return leg it would be better, those guys are angry, someone will get injured
You didn't say much about Mikel. And why am I not surprised.
