What do mean by "We don't have a team yet"? what do we have thenhuh
Do you have a team that can go toe to toe with Germany,Portugal,Germany or Spain. You barely escaped a defeat from a Zambian side that paraded mostly locally based players. We dont have a team that can reach the semi finals as it stands right now.

I laugh when people put jay jay ahead of the great Kanu. Kanu ,a two time African Player of the year. Jay Jay,ball juggler. Jay Jay didnt take soccer very serious till he hit 30s and realizes he hasnt achieved anything. Too late ,brother.

I don't understand if you are talking about preparations for the World Cup or having a ready squad for the World Cup proper cos as far as preparations are concerned I think we are moving in the right direction- a grade A friendly is coming on the back of our dead rubber match with Algeria.
Moreover I doubt if even Brazil, Argentina, Germany, France, Spain, England will at this point tell you that they are ready and set for the world cup. Abi you can mention any country that you think is ready and set. Is the host even fully ready and set as at today?
With regards to a ready team we are not yet there in all departments but much ground will be covered before the mundial to ensure we have a strong team and quality bench.
As about now we dont have a team yet. Those countries you mentioned has a team ,we dont.

I was enjoying you until your last sentence. Please how are we not ready or prepared? We have a dead rubber match against Algeria, a top notch friendly (some even feel it's coming too early) against Argentina. In fact Qualifiers have not yet ended. I think we are on track. We just need to draw out a road to Russia map(and the NFF has said they will do and make it public)
Can you confidently beat your chest and say we are ready and set for the world cup ?

You know sometimes we just talk and then if it is examined it doesn't pan out with our assertion. Granted VicMo can be selfish and has been so in times past but pray examine him from the first match he featured in against Algeria to the last against Zambia and tell me how he was selfish?

Against Algeria he wanted to even pass the ball to Iheanacho but the ball struck the foot of an Algerian defender and came back to him and he slotted home.
Against Cameroon apart from scoring (initiated by Mikel to VicMo, he ran, dribbled cameroun players, passed to Simon and scored from the square play by Simon) he initiated the last goal with a flick.
Against Cameroon in the second leg I can't recall how he was selfish.
Against Zambia in the last match, his runs though were not as effective as they used to be yet he created good opportunities for Ighalo in both halves and his runs created the panic for the goal.
Sir,we are not debating whether Victor Moses is a good player or not the topic is his selfishness which everybody here knows about. When I watch soccer I pay attention to every detail. Do that and you will see how VicMo can be very selfish even at the detriment of the whole team.

Kelechi with his bad first touch will not achieve anything. Dude cant keep ball for a second. Always looking for tap-ins. Dude is not a striker and he needs to start playing to his strength. Kelechi is a build up player with an eye for goal and he needs to do more of what he is good at. stop waiting for tap ins and drop deep and play with the midfielders and wingers so the coach can see your strength.

Yes,Okocha dribbled himself to absolute nothingness. Victor Moses will be more infuencial if he can release the ball on time....I hate selfish players.

U are right, honestly only US 94 would serve as a good example for this team, nothing more coz they had s good preparation despite losing all their friendly matches.
The closest we have ever been to that 1994 squad is now but we dont have a team yet. In that 1994 squad didnt have weak links like Echiejile,Onazi,Moses Simon. Every player was lit as fuucck. But we can get there with serious preparations and hoping players like Ekong,Echiejile and Moses Simon get it together or get replaced. AGAIN,WORLD CUP IS NOT A PLACE YOU GO WITH HALF- STRENGTHENED .

So many factors contribute to a good outing at the world cup. Having wonderful players is not enough to win you the world no matter how star studded. Spain,Holland and Argentina are some good example.

In 1994

We had a monstrous squad that couldnt go past second round and why did not they. Inexperience and lack of focus was our downfall. At the world cup every second counts and there is no room for mistakes.

In 1998
We changed coach soon after the qualifier and we brought alot of players at the last days of their carreer AND again LACK of Focus played a part. We need to understand that world cup is not club football...We must fight with all our might else hungrier countries like Brazil,Germany and France will keep winning.

In 2002
We had Sodje,Ogbeche,Justice Christopher(an excellent DM but wrong stage to start off) and most of our top stars were not around anymore...Oliseh,Amokachi,Amunike,Finidi and co were all missing and we had a depleted team. Cant do much with that.

In 2010

We were still going through a drought and our top players were Obasi,Aiyegbeni, and Kalu Uche then we had a Kaita who had temper problem. It was a world cup good as forgotten.

In 2014

We were at the height of our misery and things couldnt be worse.

Finally,my point is that having wonderful players is not a guarantee for a good outing. Good players +Good management/coach+stability + preparedness all play a major part. Now ,we are getting everything right except we are not ready or prepared.

[quote author=krattoss post=61653822]bro I think this is solely ur opinion and u are entitled to it..cos I don't agree with u that Moses doesn't deserve a spot in the team..
This is a guy who has been with us in every inch of every match playing huge impact to the team's qualification and u are here downplaying his sacrifices and hardwork with little known onyekuru...

I still maintain that Moses Simon is still ahead of onyekuru..only iwobi can compete with him on that role.. cool
As for ekong. ...I don't know whether it is when he collapse on the field like Sam okwaraji..then u can know his importance and sacrifices. ..

As for musa...I shake my head...cos the guy is playing bet365 with his slot grin[/quot

I am not downplaying his contributions but what are these his sanctimonious sacrifices ? Moses Simon is at best barely average. Yes,he is ahead of Onyekuru for now but for how long.
Look,we have a lot of youngsters coming through the ranks Orji Okonkwo for instance can displace Iheanacho if his stock keep rising and Iheanacho sits on the bench. Super Eagle most always play the best players.

Ekong has been solid throughout the qualifiers. He has already improved a lot.

Elderson played particularly well against Algeria. I did not like his display against Cameroon.

Simon Moses is a hard worker. Coaches love hard workers. Onyekuru does not work as hard.
Onyekuru has not been tested sufficiently to conclude he cant work hard, after all, Simon dont do much other than run around like a headless chicken. As far as I know Simon is not adding much to our attack and its not like he was called upon to defend. He is not measuring up,attack wise. Dude can dribble for Africa with no vision. The only difference between Musa and Simon is speed and skill the common thing being that they have no vision and conviction. What use is your speed and skill if you cant help your team ?

You want to tell me you will start Simon ahead of Iwobi simply because Simon tracks back to defend? Do you know how potent an attack line that has Mikel, VicMO, Ighalo,Iwobi and Onyekuru will be. All these players I mentioned are all ball jugglers. My point exactly is that Simon need to sit up because his spot is not secured.

As for Ekong, I pray he doesnt commit a blunder because that will nail him.... Ekong is very strong and good in aerial battle but dude panics for a CD.

No,its a certain probability. To be entirely honest,Simon Moses is yet to prove he deserve a place in the starting 11. Like most people have already pointed out multiple times here Moses ,in spite of all his little dribbles and runs WE are not sold on the guy. In fact,I will be surprise if he makes it to world cup final 23. With the speed with which Onyekuru is gaining confidence Simon's spot is in dispute. Musa ,for sure ejiro azu eje ebe obuna!

Same for shaky and panicky Ekong and spent Echiejile...I hope these guys dont go around thinking they have made it,especially Ekong.

and how do you know a 21-year old when you see one?

We have dealt with these ridiculous claims by your ilk numerous times that is why most people chose to ignore, but it's about time your nonsense claims got shot down.

If Kelechi is 27, that would be really sad because I have never seen a 27-year old man who acts so much like a kid as he does. This is someone that can comfortably play around with the likes of Iwobi and Awaziem, a truly 27-year old guy would not be so playful.

Kelechi was 5ft.11' as at 2013, but is currently 6ft.2", now if we are to believe this idiocy that he was 23 as at 2013, then explain the increase in height.

Even if Kelechi is not 21, I still maintain that he is no older than 23.

That is how people told us Mikel was 30 in 2005, somehow, he is still playing football 12 years later at the grand old age of 42.

Some weeks ago, someone said Ajiboye was married with kids as at 2007, thankfully, I have a roommate who knows his wife and they got married two years ago and have just one baby.

I have said times without number that you people who come online to defame these famous people deserve jail time if you cannot prove your claims

South Africa,Ghana and Kenya all join hands in insulting Nigerians and to be honest most of what these guys say is truth. But Nigeria is a very big country with many challenges just like India. India is way more advanced than South Africa but poverty is rampant due to their enormous population.

Nigeria is very populated with very lean resources but because of ignorance they always think they are rich because of presence of crude oil ,which is not up to what Angola or Lybia has.

Corruption is widespread in Africa if not little countries like Kenya,Ghana and even SA would be in the same level as Germany,France and South Korea.

Hard work, the secret to my great start this season- Simy Nwankwo
By Staff Reporter - October 17, 2017

In form FC Crotone striker, Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo says hard work and desire to excel in the Serie A has aided his impressive start to the 2017/2018 season.

Nwankwo, who has scored one goal with three assists for his modest Italian side, believes his work rate during pre-season, where he scored a hat-trick in one of the games, is paying off for him.

Speaking from his base in Italy, the tall and lanky goal poacher told AOIFootball.com that he is happy with his form this term.

“I am happy with my form and contribution so far for my club. All these performances from me are a result of my hard work. I have worked so hard and wished for this,” he said.

He further stated that he intends to get more goals in the Serie A but only if he is given more playing time.

“I don’t want to sound boastful, but I have always craved more playing time in order to show the stuff I am made of. I believe I have the quality and what it takes to lead the line for Crotone,” said the 25-year-old.

Simy has played 274 minutes for Crotone this term

Igbo or Ibo where NEVER used in his book. It's only modern day interpreters of the book that tried to claim him as Ibo or Igbo. I repeat there was no such a word as Ibo before the 1900s the word "I Before Others" (IBO) was actually coined by first generation politicians of the then Eastern Nigeria to unite natives of that region for political strength just the way politicians of the then Western region came together under the umbrella of Omo-Ododuwa.

You can scream Ajagun,Ilori,Raheem,Solanke from morning till night and I can promise you none of them is going to world cup with Nigeria. This is not because they are your tribesmen but because they are not up to per, except for Raheem Lawal.

My biggest joy going into this encounter with Zambia is IGHALO JUDE. I am confident we have found a real top 9 who can ruffle any defense, put them under pressure and even score a breathtaking goals.

I remember before our match against Cameroon I described Ighalo as a skillful and tricky player and some guy cried blue murder. Now,everybody is ridding Ighalos back....Such is life. But Kelechi need to learn how a to 9 works.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by OMANBALA1: 1:56pm On Oct 05, 2017
Weak links....

Ekong with his bad ball control, bad pass and panic. If put under intense pressure by a more technical team Ekong will make costly mistake.

Victor Moses over carries the ball and dribble too much to the extent he will jeopardise the success of the team. Moses need to learn when to release the ball. He ruined what would have been a beautiful goal for Ighalo against Cameroon in Uyo. His dribbles need to be in check and he can be a little selfish. In fact,Victor Moses is not my favourite SUPER EAGLES player,he annoys me half of the time and now he didnt come to camp early....smh

Simon Moses has improved a bit but his final ball needs to be worked on and his crosses must get better. I like his tacking back to help but he waste alot of ball....Again,just like VicMO he (Simon) likes to dribble and half of the time he loses the ball.

Echiejile is a disaster waiting to happen...Dude is our weakest link. bad passes, shaky, out of position and what have you....When I see Echiejile I get depressed.

Mikel Obi,though a smart player but he lost a lot of possession in our match at Uyo. Can also be a little slow but I will put that on his lack of match fitness. But Mikel must do better than against Cameroon.

The only problem I have with Onazi is to not get a red card ,as long as Ndidi is there I have confidence in that midfield.
