chino11: A typical yuruba backward mentality..When the people of Onitsha and Owerri go head to head They will make the Iraq / Iran war look like a Naming Ceremony |
PeterKbaba: Point of correction pls, it wasn't the Yoruba's that kicked out the Ghanians, It was an Hausa president ( I think Shagari or so ) Ghanaian, Rep of Benin and Togo are all related to Yoruba's... Ask and you would know..... But better still, it was okay for them!!!Spot on Knowing that Haiti or Jamaica are Indigenes of Igboland why dont you lot invest in a one way ticket heading towards the west Indies you will be most welcomed |
solomon111: Go read up on the history of lagos. Please dont come here and try and hoodwink us with your mumbo jumbo "i know who King Kosoko of Lagos was" Does Lagos state belong to the IGBOS? Yes or No The mere fact here, is that the delta region doesnt want to be part of Igbos as well and that speaks Volume |
Classicalman: Yorubas are the most confused tribe in NIGERIA. imagine fashola deporting igbo, edo, delta and even hausa people to Anambra? what does he intend to gain from that? if people start deporting all yorubas from all over the country, im sure they will be the first to start begging.Theirs a reason why they call the Capital of Sierre Leone "FREETOWN" |
me_for_you: Lagos was a former colony of britain and former federal capital. the original inhabitants of lagos were binis and freed slaves from south america. And then the Alarm bell rings!!!! |
solomon111: How is fashola a tyrant? Why is a state Governor a Tyrant? when we have a leader, I believe Fashola is working within the constitution or Laws. Tell me, Why do Easterners go home during the national census? Please answer those questions. |
solomon111: If GEJ is a tyrant then you've no idea what tyranny means.I know what Tyranny means, your not in the position to educate me, I asked you a question, all you did was to flip the script. |
solomon111: shut up.Who is a Tyrant Fashola or Goodluck? (a.k.a Retardinho de Souza De Lima) |
What bugs me is that the Igbo's blindly Support Jonathan Goodluck and Shepopotamus actions. If what Fashola is doing was done to TWEEDLE DUMB and TWEEDLE TW@T the Igbo's would go on a Goodluck @$$-Kissing crusade... |
zuchyblink: that lagos was developed with oil money, minus oil from lagos;lagos is dead.for the oil u are talking about that is POLITICAl OIL and real black gold.lagos cannot maintain infrastructure without oil money.I think you have been smoking the wrong type of WEED |
IGBO-SON:No residential Permit!!! Working without a working Visa!! ![]() |
gibson81: Ndigbo are Nation builders. Whatever developments that the west are boasting of are the hard works of Igbos. Its only an Igbo man that goes to a place and make it a home. Try and own properties, no other tribe does that. Though i pity them because, they have been a fool all these while. When they refuse to listen to the elders, instead of doing like other tribes, they are busy developing other states rather than their own states. Late Great Odimegwu Ojukwu criticise the Igbos when they called him to come and open ASPANDA market. Now his fears are playing out. A LAZY YORUBA goat threatening the Igbos with their Houses in Lagos. Has any Yoruba idiot raised a block at the East? NO! They cant even afford land in any part of East> Morons are here talking. You sound Like the British farmers living in Zimbabwe that was kicked out of Zimbabwe by it's Leader Robert Mugabe |
Dudu_Negro: Why would you kick Yorubas out of their jobs? They are not kidnapping on your land, not robbing your people and snatching their belongings, not snatching foreigners on your land, not begging on your streets or sleeping under your bridges. So tell me your justification for kicking them out.....just because they are Yoruba? Its unlawful to do that.I could remember a group of Igbo guys been deported from France on the same plane back to Nigeria, Omo one of the guys was shouting everybody on this plane is going to die oooo!!! Omo fear come catch me ooo, but when the French Immigration restrain this guy all the way to MMA |
collynzo2: All these talks about Yoruba land or South west develpoing is a bit strange. Outside Lagos, what do they have? Is it Ibadan the ancient city of brown, rusty roofs? HahahaOh common!!! |
What I dont understand is that when South Africa or Libya deport a Nigerian back home, YOU LOT would say what are you looking for in there country! So whats the difference here! Fashola puts you on the next Ekene Dili Chuckwu bus smoking towards Igbo Land and people are shouting blue-murder |
ThiefOfHearts: More black people (not including Nigerians) know Genevieve more than Thandie but whatever makes you feel better sha.Really? Please can someone tell me when Beloved came out? |
stillwater: Naa Ejiofor's accent is perfect!Does Ejiofor have a Nigerian accent |
Afam4eva: Ejiofor can fake a Nigerian/Igbo accent better than Djimon. Infact, there's no such thing as an African accent. Not really!!! Djimon doesnt have to fake anything, Ejiofor sounds like Leonardo DiCaprio in Blood Diamond |
kelvin1191: If the Queen thief, they will call it KLEPTOMANIA but if its an ordinary person expecially the black, they will sent him/her to jail or deported while every other black in d country faces harassment. But d ghanian actress no try shaaaa! When did the Queen steal? |
Tonto calls the Senators Olodo's and Mumu's she is treated like an Angel Soyinka calls the First Lady a Shepopotamus he is treated like the devil I wonder why? |
Afam4eva: Your post may be plausible because this is a Nigerian accent we're talking about, so the audience that this movie was made for may not care. The movie wasn't made for Nigerians anyways. Foreigner won't know the difference between a Nigerian, Ghanian or even South African accent, so anything that sounds strange and different from the accent they're used to as Americans and Europeans will do. The point i'm making is that if they wanted to pay attention to the accent and wanted to get it right in that regard, then using an Actor with a Nigerian heritage like Okonedo for example will mean a better interpretation of the accent. I think that's where the argument lay. I guess they used Thandie Newton cos she she has more name than any Actress of Nigerian or African/Black origin(i think so) and not because she was necessarily the best fit for the role. Don't forget that before shooting started there were worries that her skin color may not reflect the character that she portrays in the movie. What would you say if they have used Djimon Hounsou instead of Chiwetel Ejiofor, Djimon has a stronger African accent |
She would be in the directors version when the dvd comes out Thats life it does happened to the best, especially if the movie or storyline is dragging and on the otherhand didnt she protest against using foreign actors in the movie? (I might be wrong) |
Afam4eva: But someone with a Nigerian heritage will find it easier faking a Nigerian accent even if the person is not your typical Nigerian. Didn't you see how spotless Chiwetel Ejiofor's accent was in the movie despite being a British Nigerian just like Okonedo.ITS A MOVIE!!!! what has heritage got to do with anything, common guys when are we going to stop nip-picking at everything Forest Whitaker and Kerry Washington sound nothing like an African let alone east african who have very thick African accent, they both got 5 stars! whats with the focus on Thandie atleast she is half African, what about Anika Noni Rose? all am saying the movie wants to sell a Nigerian story to the rest of world and the best we could do is complain and mummur! Common guys if I have £20m to invest into movies about a part of Nigerian History am sorry the key roles has to be played by top dogs of the movie screen. Atleast it takes courage to learn how to speak like an African< I would like to see any of our Nollywood artist mostly Ibo or Yoruba to speak with an Hause accent? |
Afam4eva: I think they should have used Sophie Okonedo instead.Like Sophie sounds anything like someone from Rwanda when she was up for an Oscar, Sophie sounds more an East Londoner than a Nigerian |
Deadspin published some photos showing Siohvaughn Funches sitting in the street with a sign saying she is living on the streets. Oh, and she adds on the placard that she is an ex-wife of a Miami Heat star. Siohvaughn Funches, was once married to Dwyane Wade. The couple had an ugly divorce. Funches was awarded a $1 million lump sum and $25,000 per month for child support. They were once high school sweethearts until Dwayne allegedly had an affair with Gabrielle Union, who he is still dating today. Siohvaughn even sued Gabrielle Union citing emotional distress The former husband and wife battled over their two sons and Dwyane won. Siohvaughn has claimed that she has yet to see a penny of her divorce settlement. On the 11th July Siohvaughn dropped the lawsuit she filed alleging she was owed at least $1 million from her former husband. According to court papers, Siohvaughn Wade filed a voluntary dismissal order today at the Circuit Court of Cook County Law Division. Funches is no stranger to erratic behavior. Various media reports are suggesting that Radamel Falcao, the 60 million Euro striker who recently signed for French club Monaco, is 29 years old and not 27, as mentioned on FIFA's official website. There is a YouTube video which reveal his school documents. Falcao's date of birth is February 10, 1986, as per FIFA but according to the records of his former primary school, February 10, 1984, is reportedly the original one. Interestingly, his place of birth is said to be Colombia's capital city of Bogota, rather than the Santa Marta, as mentioned on his Wikipedia page. According to ESPNFC, it is also being reported that his school records show Falcao went through a scheme called "pre-school transition" aged five, which is consistent with someone born in 1984, though the scheme no longer existed in 1991, the year that Falcao would have turned five were he born in 1986. Falcao's father, Radamel Garcia Senior, says that he was born in Santa Marta in 1986 and a clerical error might have resulted in the confusion. Falcao is considered as one of the top strikers in the world, and the newly promoted, super rich French club fought off competition in likes of Real Madrid and Chelsea to sign him from Atletico Madrid. Falcao scored 70 goals in 90 games for Atletico Madrid and is currently undergoing preseason training with his new club. http://sports.ndtv.com/football/news/211289-reports-say-radamel-falcao-faked-his-age |
