Afam4eva: Your post may be plausible because this is a Nigerian accent we're talking about, so the audience that this movie was made for may not care. The movie wasn't made for Nigerians anyways. Foreigner won't know the difference between a Nigerian, Ghanian or even South African accent, so anything that sounds strange and different from the accent they're used to as Americans and Europeans will do. The point i'm making is that if they wanted to pay attention to the accent and wanted to get it right in that regard, then using an Actor with a Nigerian heritage like Okonedo for example will mean a better interpretation of the accent. I think that's where the argument lay. I guess they used Thandie Newton cos she she has more name than any Actress of Nigerian or African/Black origin(i think so) and not because she was necessarily the best fit for the role. Don't forget that before shooting started there were worries that her skin color may not reflect the character that she portrays in the movie.

What would you say if they have used Djimon Hounsou instead of Chiwetel Ejiofor, Djimon has a stronger African accent

She would be in the directors version when the dvd comes out

Various media reports are suggesting that Radamel Falcao, the 60 million Euro striker who recently signed for French club Monaco, is 29 years old and not 27, as mentioned on FIFA's official website.

There is a YouTube video which reveal his school documents. Falcao's date of birth is February 10, 1986, as per FIFA but according to the records of his former primary school, February 10, 1984, is reportedly the original one.

Interestingly, his place of birth is said to be Colombia's capital city of Bogota, rather than the Santa Marta, as mentioned on his Wikipedia page.

According to ESPNFC, it is also being reported that his school records show Falcao went through a scheme called "pre-school transition" aged five, which is consistent with someone born in 1984, though the scheme no longer existed in 1991, the year that Falcao would have turned five were he born in 1986.

Falcao's father, Radamel Garcia Senior, says that he was born in Santa Marta in 1986 and a clerical error might have resulted in the confusion.

Falcao is considered as one of the top strikers in the world, and the newly promoted, super rich French club fought off competition in likes of Real Madrid and Chelsea to sign him from Atletico Madrid.

Falcao scored 70 goals in 90 games for Atletico Madrid and is currently undergoing preseason training with his new club.
