montelik: Both Mayweather and Pacquiao need to make this fight happen before people and events make it lose flavor. Why should Mayweather be asking for drug tests that are even more stringent than Olympic standards. Its an unnecessarily petty move to ask an accomplished boxer to subject himself to such (a multi champion for that matter). Pacquiao should also realise that he can't split the purse evenly for such a fight, as Mayweather is the bigger draw whether he likes it or not.
According to Mayweather its strange for a boxer to go from Featherweight (126 lb) and go all the way and and start beating Junior-middleweight boxers (154 lb) Floyd said it was him the boxing authority would demand him to take the test. Now Mayweather did agree to come into the ring nothing more than 147lb, so why don't Pacman take the test during the last 8 weeks leading to the fight.

Car Talk › Re: Peugeot 406 V6, And 307 2.0L: What's Your Take? by omar22(m): 11:06pm On May 05, 2012
Ikenna351: Before I proceed, pls note that Peugeot 607 V6 actually had the same V6 engine in the facelifted 406. So the mechanic that said that was correct. But considering the weight of 607, the engine performs better in 406.

The facelfted 406 ('99 - 2004) was the last Peugeot product designed by Pininfarina, an Italian company that also designed Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, etc. The popular Peugeot 404, 504 & 505 were also designed by Pininfarina. Thats why those cars were all over the world massively sold, due to their ruggedness, good road handling & good looking in their era. Of course, Ferrari is not left behind. Likewise, the 406 had the same qualities of the predecessed ones.

There were 2 different types of V6 engine in 406: ES9J4 & ES9J4S. The phase 1 406 V6 , D8, had the ES9J4, while the phase 2 (D9) had the ES94S which was the V6 engine that 607 had. The D8 V6 develops maximum of 190 hp at 5,500 rpm. While the D9 V6 engine develops 210 hp at 6000 rpm, with maximum torque of 285 Nm at 4000 rpm. So the ES9J4S was an improvement of the V6 engine in phase 1 406 V6. And remember, 406 was facelifted in 1999, when the production of ES9J4S started.

The two V6 engines in the two phases of 406 had quad-cam set up, with 24 valves, superior to my PRVs (V6 engine) in my two Lions: 505 V6 & 605 V6 (both are sticks).

I will enlighten you on good sides & annoyances of 406 V6 in my next post, which will be posted soon.

Ikenna.
Superb analysis but but but!!!

I would go for a V6 engine if it was a 2.0 litre engine but a V6 3.0 litre engine? nah!!!

phemmyfour: Opening match in Senegal 92 was against Senegal

Siasia scored the first goal early then Jules Bocande equalised for Senegal off a Keshi mistake in defence
Keshi scored the winning goal to redeem himself
I know Jules Bocande equalized but i forgot that Nigeria snatched the last ticket off B Faso when we won 7-1 (remembered that we had to cut the track suit bottoms as shorts because the kit didnt arrive)

Always get your facts right, B.faso was not in that group. In fact, bf did not qualify for CAN 92. The group had Senegal, Nig and Kenya
Coming from someone who said Yekini scored in that match...
Car Talk › Re: Peugeot 406 V6, And 307 2.0L: What's Your Take? by omar22(m):
406 is the most reliable Peugeot ever been built but I would say you stick with a normal 4 cylinder 2.0 engine, the 3.0 V6 engine seems like a mistake from Peugeot. but my advice go for the 2.0 406 (preferable diesel) a 406 diesel engine car could take you from Lagos to Cairo and back. They are one of the most reliable diesel engine around, (along with VW Passat and Audi which most eastern European use to drive to from places like Krakow to London or Paris

Behind bobo: V6 all the way.my V6 accord does lagos to benin with half tank.my brother's V4 camry does lagos to benin with half tank.whats the difference??
V6 engines consume more fuel when its within the city but it also depends on how u drive it.Drive like a gentle man and u ll get d best mileage.
Ma V6 leaves lagos 6am get to PH 1.45pm. thats what i want from a car u know.
V4 Engine did I hear that right?

You would only find a V4 engine on a MOTOR BIKE!!!

Camry is either a straight 4 or a V6

eseosa77: i ve been using a v6 bmw 3 series for 5 years now,the fuel economy is suparb.i ve friends who uses volkwagen, audi benz, dem dey trip how my car no dey comsume fuel dispite being a v6 engine.U will not believe i went to winners charpel(cannan land) with full tank to and fro benin and my friend whose audi wagon was 2wks old,has to buy half tank when we were coming back.that car does not consume fuel at all each time i travell with it.Yesterday i just bought another v6 BMW 3series and gave the old one to my dad.Note that the v6 is more espensive when u are buying from the factory, but because of the complex nature of it,our mechanics who cannot handle it very well, would ask u to go for the v4,therefore the demand for v4 increased thereby increasing the price over v6.
BMW does not have a V6 engine, they stuck with the straight 6 they do have the V8 but thats on the M5

GAR3TH: In my statement I wasn't taking about the gauge, I was talking about the load bearing capacity of the track themselves and the infrastructure associated with them. Both Light Rail and Heavy Rail can come in different gauges, 1435mm to 1067mm and others. The real difference is that Heavy Gauge infrastructure can handle more stress, weight and high speeds than light rail infrastructure. Imagine if they built a rail bridge that has a live load bearing capacity of 4 tons [light rail] but instead a 20 ton subway car uses that bridge. The bridge will collapse wont it.
Your right! I was thrown by the name of the project, thats why I first said its a waste money because it wont serve the public any purpose but with the rolling stock they bought from canada which can never be mistaken for a light rail, knowing that LRT could go into corner no other trains in the world and they are more suited to a small area (like Lekki or Ajah) but no running from one end to another end.
Travel › Re: More Updates On The Lagos Light Rail Project & 10Lane Lagos-Badagry Express Way by omar22(m): 10:04am On May 04, 2012
How on earth can a 85200 pound subway car possible run on a light rail track? BECAUSE ITS NOT A LIGHT RAIL TRACK.
It doesnt matter most track layout are the same width

Why do you think they are sending it to New York for modification? any train could run on any rail so far it has the correct wheel gauge to the running track, I work for a rail company and to move a train out of service during working hours they do request permission to let a certain train cross some certain tracks.

She is not playing a leading role, she is not playing a supporting role either more like a cameo role that they could easily cut out during the finishing! if they are not happy with her acting.

Oh I see what you mean. You are talking of mass transport (8 carriage full). My brother I don't think Lagos is that large in population. In fact I doubt if people would know the value of this when it starts initially but as time goes on, people would warm up to it.

An eight carriage or so as you suggested would not work on electricity but on gas or crude oil product for more power unless you are talking about electric trains which we cannot afford now. Lagosians cannot afford given the fact that

1. Oil would soon finish

2. We don't want to be seen as parasites.

It is better for a state like Osun or Ogun to build a dam or so (talking like a layman) to power such then Lagos depending of Oil again.

I hope you see my point.
We have 12 carriage trains that runs on electric because the electric would be on the conducting rail the train would be running on but, thats my main argument, they would have to run constant current from one end to another end (may be from Mile 2 to Ojo) and any power failure would mean the train stop immediately all system shuts down.. They could have gone for a train that runs on diesel

@alj harem

I do understand what you are saying but Lagos is far bigger than most of the european cities and the Light Rail service is far more expensive to run than a normal tain and they don't have more than 3 carriages (4 if you want to push your luck) so how its going to transport their forcast figures is looney! But hey the project is already cracking on!

No wonder Nigeria is behind when you can't even observe that it is virtually impossible to have am efficient light rail project without having to build above-ground tracks and, in some cases, underground tracks. This is because with above-ground tracks you can build the rail tracks over existing roads and some ground structures, which will enable the rail project to connect to many areas. I am sure when feasible they can build the tracks on ground, but have in mind that it will usually be a combination of ground, above-ground, and underground. While underground rail (subway) is the most efficient, it is very expensive to build and requires some experienced engineers to build it.
Your right but it doesn’t mean it’s feasible. Remember that the platforms has to be right up there at the same level of the track, which is a major risk in Nigeria because within days people would start stripping out the security bar or device, let alone talking about overcrowding on the platform! And the most important part is the power to drive these trains which are higher than a normal power supply to a house or organisation and you have to feed the track with power may be at every 100 meters (this would encourage cable theft)
