BastardWike: This guy keeps writing bulshit every day. This fool thinks Igbos that are business people who needs peace and stability to thrive will allow any group to disrupt it?
IPOB has remained peaceful and will continue to be because they know once they go violent, they won't have anywhere to stay because Igbos will chase them away.
Wike came up with a stupid stunt and thus idiot ran away with it and started singing like a canary. Rubbish!! Throwing such tantrums and cursing, with veins almost busting out of one's throat and forehead, are a sign of acute mental and emotional handicap to me. I pray you find some cure soon. Bye. |

iboboyswag: Omenka... It is you who do not understand the dynamics at play.
There is no shit hitting any fan, at least not in the South East.
The thoughts that the Igbo nation would fall for cheap inducements to start an insurgency in this day and age is only a figment of your imagination or rather antics that can only come to play in areas outside the South East where hunger and poverty reigns supreme.
Defining the Igbo nation through the lenses of IPOB is at best abysmally myopic.
Not to sound tribal, but we are not some gworo chewing religious bigots or tombo drinking lazy asses. Can't believe you just said this. So there are no illiterates, criminals, cultists, drug addicts, etc that are Igbos just like there are in other tribes? If one were to instigate such crisis in the East, who do you think they'd run to if not the aforementioned group of people? Don't politicians use same group of people today? The same class of people we call political thugs, who kill for money. Or such thugs exist only in the "gworo chewing" religious North? Like I said, keep living in denial. Reality MIGHT soon hit you in the face. I hope you recognize it IF it does. |

U didn't cia and MI6 haven't done investigation to realize ipob is not a terrorist organization ? ...I fact no serious country has declared ipob a terrorist organization ...and we Igbos don't see them as such
If tomorrow ipob picks up arms we can only blame the Nigerian army for pushing them to the extreme
Only a full would believe ipob would bomb a church , like a church ? Say a mosque maybe it may sound believable
Wile politically us finished , no matter what he does he is finished

Politics › Dear South East, A Stitch In Time Saves Nine. by omenka(op): 11:23am On Dec 04, 2020*. Modified: 8:11pm On Jul 11, 2023 |
Good morning.
It is no longer news the raging animosity between governor Nyiesom Wike of Rivers state and the proscribed secessionist movement, IPOB, a situation made worse by the recent events in Oyigbo/Obigbo.
Both parties have threatened fire and brimstone against one another with the leader of IPOB placing a bounty of N50 million on the head of the governor. The governor, expectedly, scoffed at the threat, given he has the backing of constitutional powers and his naturally brutish persona. But, as recent events reveal, the foot soldiers of IPOB are bent on carrying out the orders as directed by their self exiled leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. To this end, no greater evidence can be put forward than the recent bombing of a church belonging to the father of their arch enemy, Wike.
This brings me to the crux or this thread.
Who remembers Bornu, Boko Haram, how it all started and the response of the people of the region? It is my sincere opinion that South Easterners are making exactly the same mistake!
When one samples the opinion of the average Easterner, if their commentary on events as posted here are anything to go by, one would see a total absolution of IPOB from any wrongdoing, even though culprits have given confessional statements. The arguements we have seen so far are that:
1. They made the statements under duress and IPOB has got nothing to do with the alleged culprits.
2. The newspapers are owned by Yorubas (the Nation was the publisher) and it is in Yorubas' character to taint IPOB and Igbos generally.
3. Ikweres are behind the bombing and staged it to justify the brutal crackdown on IPOB/Igbos in Oyigbo/Obigbo.
4. IPOB is a nonviolent group and can Never hurt people in such manner (notwithstanding all the threats they've issued to the contrary).
5. Where is the proof they're IPOB members? Brandishing a Biafran flag is no proof of IPOB membership.
Etc.
For those who've followed developments in Nigeria, especially as they relate to security, one can see a rather eerie semblance between what is currently happening in the East and what transpired in the North that has burgeoned into the seemingly intractable security crisis they are currently grappling with. They were in denial about the nature and depth of the problem at its infancy but today, the story is regrettably different, with scores killed in the most brutal manner just about everyday.
To this day, right from the day IPOB was born, majority of Ndigbo have been absolving them of ANY wrongdoing. Not a fly has any IPOB member ever squashed. Kanu and his inflammatory rhetorics can cause NO HARM. The establishment has been disproportionately forceful in cracking down on IPOB dissidents. The zoo must burn/fall. Etc.
This same path was threaded by the people and leaders of North East years ago. Today, they're harvesting the rewards. Worst off, projections are being made the crisis may persist for another two decades- two decades of bloodletting and destruction of properties!! Let that sink in. It is a given that criminals feel secure and emboldened to carry out their acts knowing that they have a huge number of people willing to deny their acts on their behalf. It's a no brainer.
Make no mistakes, war is a very profitable enterprise. There is a threshold to the breach of security that requires constant financial interventions. Once that threshold is reached, WAR INVESTORS, who aren't even necessarily from your region or even country, would start pouring little monies in to sustain the carnage which guarantees that government keeps pouring money into its drive to restore peace. And we're talking about hundreds of millions of dollars!
It takes just a few hundred thousand bucks to wreak havoc that may cost hundreds of millions and these guys wouldn't be shy to make such "investments" given the returns are humongous!!
The elites and political leaders of the East appear reticent in calling out this group because they dread the losses they might suffer in terms of popularity and political strength. The reason why someone, for instance, like Senator Abaribe is popular amongst Eastern electorates today isn't because he has been executing some marvelous constituency projects, nor has he secured something special from the government for his constituents, no. The reason is simply because he has openly romanced and identified with IPOB. That is the situation on ground.
It is not too late to reign in this horse, it has yet to bolt out the stables. It would be regrettable seeing things spiral out of control the way they did elsewhere in the country. It was said that "Christians" don't bomb (sometimes I am at a loss about the definition of the word Christian), but that dogma has failed alot of tests, not the least of which was that that just happened in Rivers state.
The time for the East to reign in IPOB is now!! I know hundreds will come for my head, as usual, for DARING to raise a voice against this group. They'd tell me to rather write about Benue, herdsman, this and that. They will curse and insult me. To such persons, you will get no response from me. I am used to all that MO of yours already. But I'd take consolation to the fact I SPOKE UP when I should. Hopefully, we don't ever cross that security threshold I mentioned. Amen. Cc: Mynd44, Lalasticlala. |
Politics › Re: Igbo Presidency In 2023 Will “Lift Nigeria” - Ezeife (Former Anambra Governor) by omenka(m): 9:28pm On Dec 03, 2020 |
LegendHero: We have a two party system in Nigeria. Even throughout history, no one have worked on Party A and expect payment from Party B.
In 1999, the Yorubas in PDP got the support of the Northerers in PDP to get Obasanjo as the presidential aspirant. Even tho the Yoruba had more reason to be the aspirant in 1999 due to the death of MKO, the Igbos in PDP still went ahead to vote Ekwueme in that 1998 PDP Jos convention with Ekwueme wining 21.36% of the delegate results.
The Igbos have not sacrificed anything for the SW since the inception of Nigeria in 1960 and I don’t think the SW’ners should be under a pressure to sacrifice anything for the Igbos come 2023 in APC.
By 2022/2023, APC will hold her primaries and the SW will vie for the position just like the SE did in PDP in 1998. It is now left to the North to support who they think will protect their interest.
All these talks of Igbo deserves it does not hold any water, they deserve it in PDP but NOT in APC, a party they have stigmatized since its formation. I don't even understand the idea Seun is trying to sell here. Heck. Giving SE APC's ticket is like handing pdp the presidency on a silver platter. It would be a walk over. Just take a look at Umahi today. The same man they once exalted as the best performing governor in Nigeria has suddenly become the devil that must be vilified and put down by any means simply because he decamped to APC. Yet, folks like Sèun feel the party's ticket should be thrown at them. Who does that? Even when Ojukwu himself contested under a different platform, they ditched him like he didnt matter at all. Not a single state did he win, not even Anambra!!! Smh. |
Politics › Re: Igbo Presidency In 2023 Will “Lift Nigeria” - Ezeife (Former Anambra Governor) by omenka(m): 9:19pm On Dec 03, 2020 |
Seun: If the president’s tribe matters, which it should not, I think it would clearly be the turn of the an Igbo or other south-eastern person to hold the position in 2023. The north would have held power for 11 years, and the south west for 8 years. If we group GEJ with the South East, it would still be their turn since he ruled for only 5 years.
If we can get a very good Igbo president in 2023, their yearning for separation will gradually fade away. Hopefully the Igbo president will not make the same mistakes that Zik, Nzeogwu and Ironsi made in the early days. Mistakes that sent the country on a dark path. What do you mean by this? What about an Igede or a Tiv or an Idoma man becoming the president? What makes you think Igbos have more right to become the president than anyone else? What makes you think it is JUST for an Igbo man to be the president and UNJUST for an Igede man to be same? People reap where they invest, Igbos invested heavily and are still investing in pdp, shown clearly even by their comments here. The most JUST thing that could happen is for pdp to hand them their ticket. Is that too much to ask? Funny how some of you understand politics. |

Even in a case like this, all a functional human desires is to break down the stats in such a manner as to instigate tribal bashing. What a crying shame. Guilty conscience is really disturbing you. Very little minded people with absolutely nothing to their name always feel the need to put others down to validate their own superiority. You feel awfully little about yourself that's why you have to make others appear little in your own eyes so you may appear big. A giant doesn't need to remind a dwarf he is a dwarf, the dwarf simply knows it. You feel inferior, that's why you always engage in a shouting match reminding others you're better than them. Now, look at this news and look at the comments of some unconscionable twats on the fp, you'd understand where I'm coming from. How in God's name can some people find this news hurtful if no be devils dem be?
