Farki:K. Obviously not worth my while. Bye. |
Farki:Some of you sound pretty ignorant and seem so proud of it. Who says signing one's death warrant is equivalent to executing them? Your death warrant could be signed yet you may still live on appeal for decades. It happens and that would be the case here as well. Forget all the optics. It won't happen. |
Sanchez01:Not quite, but I don't PRAY THEY FAIL, because their failure effects me more than it does them. In addition, even if I desire that they fail so I can criticize, it certainly wouldnt be at the instance of some unnecessary execution! |
Nchenches:Oga, it won't happen. No one is executing anyone on account of blasphemy. It wouldn't be the first time he reneged on a promise he made would it? Do I get the feeling some of you are praying he gets killed just so you can lash out at Buhari or what? ![]() |
izzou:Frkm the day that stuff took off in Zamfara, I knew it would cause more harm than good, given that our Supreme constitution is secular in nature. The country was still fairly naiive, organized and unified when Yerima pushed for and succeeded in implementing it in his state. I'm very sure given how suspicious of one another and fractured we've become, especially along religious lines, if a law of this nature were to be introduced today, the chances of success even in predominantly Muslim state would be extremely slim. Notwithstanding, PERHAPS, the Sharia system in itself isn't a retrogressive one by nature as we can cite countries such as Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, making such giant strides in all spares of human endeavour, yet having Sharia Law as their criminal justice system. But you know the thing with Nigeria, always unique in our own nature, but sadly, almost always in a negative way. |
izzou:It is possible having a mob kill someone for blasphemy, that we know happens there. But no one would be executed by the state for such a "crime". I say crime in quotation marks because, personally, I don't consider that a CRIME (no offence to the Muslims here). |
Thastie:Exactly what I think would happen. At some point, he'd even be pardoned, maybe years from now, a few if he's lucky. |
Sanchez01:The case you cited is that of murder by a MOB and not one sanctioned and executed by the STATE. I don't think any execution on crime of blasphemy has been carried out by the state since the return of democracy. |
Sanchez01:He'd be convicted, his death warrant would be signed, BUT he won't be killed. Not sure (I stand to be corrected) anyone has been put to death for reason of blasphemy since '99. |
izzou:He isn't going to be killed. It won't happen in a democracy. You can bet on that. The political backlash would be too much to bear, from outside and within the country. |
Now the horse has bolted out the stable!! The jury is already out and if Atiku comes out at this stage to make a statement, be it FOR or AGAINST the ruling, it would still reflect badly on him given that he knew all along this was happening yet thought he could sit it out only to make a statement after being dragged. Even Deji is shaking tables. Wonder if he's out of his ICU and back in the country yet. This one's a real spoiler. |
flyinnizaam:Aweful. It isn't about animal rights alone, what about the conservation of our natural flora and fauna? What about the preservation of our wildlife for the purposes of tourism? In this age of a pandemic with origins allegedly from wildlife, you people still carry on as though everything is good and fine. Must you guys kill and eat everything you see? Pathetic. |
Chapman801:Honestly. It beats me how people prefer channels such as MTVbase, movie channels, E-entertainment, etc, to the documentary channels. |
AlfaSeltzer:I don't wish you dead, but I hope your prayers regarding yourself are answered, amen. |
AlfaSeltzer:No one can live forever, not 3even yourself or myself or any of our loved ones. But, is that enough reason to wish us dead? ![]() |
tamdun:He won't visit the page. He is just okay lying to himself. Instead of admitting faults and trying to make amends, they would rather live in denial. I wonder what the end game of this hate is for them. Smh. |
Mistakemaker:Go to his handle and look up his timeline. Stop saying what you don't know. Good bye. |
Johnnyessence:First, you've got extremely terrible diction, and most of the time, when I see such, I simply don't reply their authors. So, wishing and predicting someone's death, when you're not a soothsayer, is okay. I suppose you'd feel the same way if one does same to you or your parents. Yeah? |
Mistakemaker:Maybe you should, as advised, visit his timeline. This wanton hate isn't gonna take us nowhere. Denying it exists is even worse! |
You are only sounding this way because the video went viral. Were you also disappointed in yourself over the other similar incidents where you went ballistic on journalists, calling them stupid? You boasted about having a every short fuse, I winder if the fuse is any longer now. Well, none of us with our sanities intact is disappointed know what you did- you were just being who you really are. |
A die hard Atiku/PDP supporter, @AustinaNwabufo, has predicted that Bola Ahmed Tinubu would die in the last quarter of 2022. This prophesy he made on his twitter handle on August 20th, but the tweet has long been taken down due to it's violation of Twitter community rules, but before it was, screenshot was taken by readers and saved for posterity. A walk through his timeline would leave one in no doubt the composition of the poster's mind. It is instructive to note that Tinubu himself hasn't stated ANYWHERE he would be running for president. This is the same sort of toxic politics played by the PDP in events leading up to the 2015 election and it appears they aren't ready to turn a new leaf. Things like this are the more reason we need that social media bill so we can get ahead of this corrosive hate before it consumes us all. People have to be held accountable for their utterances and not hide behind freedom of speech to instigate avoidable public disturbance.

That with remorse and pang of guilt, we regret that Nnamdi Kanu and his IPOB have won the average Igbo man anywhere and everywhere, a national and international nest of enmity, hostility and aggression, visiting us with unfathomable, indefinable and bottomless abhorrence, the magnitude of what remains unseen in our entire history of consciousness.Ndigbo has finally taken the Right First Step towards making amends- admiting there's a problem and the nature of the problem. These lines capture what we've been saying since 2016. Weve always said we aren't against anyone breaking free from the Union, but how one goes about it is what makes the difference. Ipob led by Kanu has gone about it EVERYWAY THEY SHOULDN'T. They constantly reference Catalonia but have NEVER gone about the struggle the way Catalonians do. Some of us are willing and ready to extend a hand of friendship and brotherly affection once the other party is as well willing to. Hate and wanton hostilities amongst us would take us nowhere. God bless Ndigbo and God bless Nigeria. |
seunmsg:And in my mind, Tinubu is just a decoy. I strongly believe he isn't running. |
Before Seun takes the first steps towards rebranding, he has to get rid of his utterly compromised Mods and Supermods. In addition he should make it possible for one to block members from seeing their profile or posts. With these done, we can start talking about other aspects of rebranding. Seun makes rules without any intentions of observing or enforcing them, for example, that useless thread stuck at the very top of the politics section. |
The government keeps duplicating the roles of the police. Instead of creating new bodies like this, why not just make them a DEPARTMENT under the NPF? We keep complaining about the magnitude of our recurrent expenditure, yet we are no where close to ensuring it gets trimmed. From Civil Defence to Road Safety, and now this. Who will bell this cat for Christ sake? |
A former PRESIDENTIAL AIDE actually sat down to do this. Gosh. Reno, FFK and Okupe played no small role in ensuring Jonathan lost that election honestly. |
Nwaotu10:An arm is defined as a *means of offence or defence* Unarmed means NOT BEARING means of offence or defence. They had on them MEANS OF OFFENCE AND DEFENCE, meaning, THEY WERE AREMED. Now look yourself in the mirror and say *Omenka, you have my eternal gratitude. I thought you were but I've realised I rather am the unlettered and ignorant illiterate*. Una no sabi anything, but pride no go let una learn anything. Good bye.

Finnese001:That is not true. No one but people like you would RATHER HAVE PREFERRED THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN so you can always project your insidious lies about Buhari hating Ndigbo. Thia surely pokes numerous holes in that narrative. Buhari hates no part of the country, but it is only unfortunate he seems overwhelmed by the demands of the office he occupies, especially wft security and corruption. If he could work on these two and make things better, then we would have made a great president. |
MsAllison:Have I said it is not a reprisal? And why should I hold brief for ipob or anyone for that matter? I am a citizen of Nigeria and reserve the right to share my thoughts on whatever tickles my fancy. If anyone decides to have their own opinions, that's their prerogative. The eyewitness said many things, including that which I quoted, and which is MY RIGHT TO. You as an ipob supporter can quote any portions you like, that is YOUR RIGHT. |
kingzizzy:You're saying an entirely different thing. I haven't said they weren't having a peaceful meeting, neither have I said they should have AK9000, my message is VERY CLEAR. They killed two people and they did so with the ARMS at their own disposal, bottles, stones, planks and sticks. Except you want to say the eyewitness lied on this part but was honest on all other things he said. That is my message. Good bye. |
Dharniel600:I suppose starving families to death by ensuring their breadwinners arent paid salaries for more than a year, constitutes *protection of lives and properties*. Sending thugs to beat up anyone found criticizing you publicly constitutes protection of lives and properties. Flogging protesting septuagenarians protesting in front of the government house over the non payment of their pensions constitute protecting their lives and properties. Throwing social media critics of the government into cells implies protection of their lives and properties. Creating a state vigilante group who go about marauding and extorting rural dwellers means their lives and properties are being protected. Demolishing the apartment of an 85 year old women without making provisions for her relocation because you're trying to upgrade a hotel you recently acquired, means you're protecting her life and her properties. Benue people are asking very hard questions and never a time have they felt so let down by a government in the state, but you outsiders who, probably, have never been to the state, seem to know better than them. I've always told you people, if you think Ikpeazu is a failure then you've never met Ortom or know anything of him. |
