seunmsg:Read comments on the first, second and third pages and couldn't find anyone who truly understands the ramifications of the new Law, neither do they its importance. I was disappointed seeing how little Nigerians understand what is going on with these bodies until I saw your comment. I can't speak for Mosques, but I know for a fact politicians launder millions through churches and NGOs. Some politicians come together to even raise a "pastor", build a church for him, and then "grow" the financial base of the church (laundering their monies) while paying the GOs certain percentages. The story is the same with NGOs but a bit less opaque than what obtains in churches. Even Muslim politicians launder monies in churches! Nigerians are really ignorant of the things happening out there and it pains me so much. |
Mcreloaded:"Eager to recognise with success" ![]() What manner of education did some of you receive really? |
ajl:Your dad's name? Sounds nice. You must be proud of him. ![]() |
NBA really needs to dissociate itself from all these groups, political or religious, coming on board to take sides on this matter. They run the risk of creating cracks in their wall through which lizards could crawl in, and that is a situation they really wanna avoid to preserve their reputation. |
Smh. |
themanderon:Alot of you sound really dumb though. The law is about HATE SPEECH. It isn't about ANTI GOVERNMENT SPEECH. It means, if you direct your hate speech at Omenka, he can have you reported and effectively dealt with. I think y'all have difficulty understanding simple english. |
Anago55:I should have looked up your history before engaging you in the first place. Didnt know I was dealing with a lowlife and an ethnic bigot who doesnt even deserve a slit second of my attention. You've henceforth been placed right where you belong. Never again. |
Anago55:You've had your head stuck up in my rump all day. It really must feel cozy in there. I hope you remain there. Bye. |
MsAllison:What part of what I wrote suggests I support any criminal? Reno himself is a criminal and we recently had revelations about big crooks from his backyard. When we turn the issue of corruption into a political one, the last think we should expect is any progress in terms of anticorruption crusade. Was Reno deaf and dumb over the NDDC malfeasance? Do you see me praising Buhari, Tinubu or anyone else for that matter, when it comes to fighting corruption? Haven't I on several occassions criticized Buhari and APC over their failures in the fight against corruption and insecurity? Do you see pdp supporters like Reno or the rest of the clan on nairaland attempt the same? What has Reno ever said about Alison Madueke? It is foolhardy expecting any gains to be made in this regard if we keep thinking our searchlights can only be beamed on those we consider our political rivals. Reno is a fvkcing joke. Corruption we must fight, yes, but not as advocated by such a sleazy character. |
Is Omokiri not from the same region where revelations about grand larceny and corruption were made just a couple of weeks ago? Oh well, if folks think this nonsense is the way to go about fighting corruption, let they be my guest. You saw a Bullion van, you had no idea what its contents were, but you have a problem with that and desire for the *owner* to be incarcerated. Right in your own doorstep, papers were tendered showing how your uncles and aunts stole monies running into 45 billion naira, but that is NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS. Like I said in my last thread, these attacks would only improve the political fortunes of Tinubu, and make Yorubas push back more than they ever did. It is totally counterproductive. |
Hope people were killed. Any youth who dies in the process of fighting for a politician, especially one with children or grown up relatives, is a bumbling fool who should rest in hell. |
Anago55:Thought you had something sensible to say. Please, tell others who care to listen that Omenka Hope's the law is passed and they continue dishing out hate speech, that is their cup of tea. When they're found, I sure would be held to donate a penny to their 5mill penalty. And please, if you see me doing so anywhere, feel free to report to the authorities. If possible, I'd recommend death penalty. So if I'm found doing so, let me be put to death. Nigerians are very funny humans. How could someone 2with a functional brain possibly think there's anything to gain from hate speech? If the population gets inflamed by someone's hate speech and people take laws into their hands, the same citizens will still blame the government for failing to secure their lives. Now, steps are being taken to forestall such a scenario and everyone is complaining. I hardly support this government nowadays, but on this score, they have my full support. |
Anago55:And that is why I have changed for good. People make mistakes, and I have. So, if one decides to support a course that bodes well for the collective security of the country, what is wrong with that? I just dont get it. Some of these laws are laws that have long existed even in bigger democracies than Nigeria and when we travel to those countries, we respect these laws to a T. It is similar laws we have in the western worlds regarding racism and antisemitism. So, what's the fuss about? |
I sincerely hope and pray they make it life imprisonment. Simple speech was what landed Rwanda in what they found themselves in years ago. |
papiforreal:How do you mean? |
I wish it could be raised to life imprisonment. |
dermmy:But everytime they pass that message they always lose alot. |
These are the ones that would hack one's social media account and start sending their friends messages that start with "have you heard about the latest investment....". The day I'd lay my hands on one of those idiots ehn. Even had the nerve to hack my dad's account. Very irritating sobs. |
But I'd really like to know- did she have any choice? ![]() |
No wonder he's always trying to talk down on others in the house. Highly conceited punk. Loud with nothing upstairs. |
GeneralPula:Some of us no wan talk make e no be like say we dey hate. After all the hype, I decided to listen to the album, and truth be told, I was really disappointed. Burna is way way better than what that album says. |
slivertongue:Did he ask anyone to dump the refuse there? We can't keep blaming the government while absolving the citizens. They're as guilty as the government. Whatever happened to bagging the wastes in garbage bags and dropping same in designation collection points? In fact, the people of Aba are more to blame than the government. |
