cheruv: The ND are fighting against injustice meted out against them for close to 50 years...what concerns the Great Igbo nation with how they go about it? Why don't you ask yourself and your brothers who throw an owambe party everytime a pipeline is bombed?? And since when did blowing up infrastructure amount to "fighting injustice"?? Would you people bomb your own region to "fight injustice"?? You lot have been screaming "marginalization" (a form of injustice) since God knows when- why haven't you been blowing things in the SE up?? |

freeze001: First off, lies take u nowhere other than down. Secondly u are such a petty kid! Goodness gracious! You actually felt pained by the thrashing u received that day? You even still remember? So much that u had to raise it here where it's totally unrelated? You remember that part about a pesky toilet fly that doesn't realise it's place? You just reminded me of it again...how do you do it? You are such a cry baby...see you being rude and insulting now but you'll be first to cry foul when u get hit!
Change of heart? Unlike you, I hold no grudges, I tell u as it is and move on just like I did in quoting u but u just has to go all glum n petty like a spoilt child. You're absolutely certifiable! It's obvious that thread n my comments in particular are the Bible u live by these days...please bookmark and refer to it everyday cos it will really improve your lot. Here's what William Moyers has to say about folks like you: "It's funny, in a human kind of way, how we can convinces ourselves that we're in control at the very moment we are beginning to lose it.". Do not bookmark this- print it and carry it in your purse everywhere you go. Hold it our and mull over it every few minutes- it is he antidote you need to keep you from going over the cliff. Will leave my shadow behind by the way.. Best of luck. |

freeze001: Typical...u didn't address even one point in my post, u just went off tangent talking of nothing related to my post. Well done, keep dodging, u will definitely get caught up in the lies you all concoct and spin!
Where is the system in place for different or better governance? What rules and policies have changed towards better people-oriented goals? What good is a government that has no solution beyond calling it's suffering citizens members of the opposition for complaining of hardship? What good is a President that makes it patently clear that he only cares more for those who gave him more votes? I can go on and on but y'all ain't worth it...
When the time of reckoning comes we will all tell our stories. Then wait for the time of reckoning and stop bothering me with your endless whining. Even when the policies are made into a fist and used to whack you in the face and that knocks you out- when you come to, you'd still ask "where is the policy". You've sworn not to EVER see anything good in the admin and I'm not about wasting one more juole of energy in my fingers to make you think otherwise- I understand what a wild goose chase that would be. Even lucky I dignified your first trash with a response. I thought you said I feel too big about myself and I'm best ignored- what prompted the change of heart today?? |

LoveMachine: Dubai, Saudi Arabia and other countries just cut their subsidies as well. The oil glut is hurting all of OPEC but it's easier to blame APC. Luckily, Nairaland doesn't determine gov't policy. What do these guys know. They are just inconsolable Wailers. These same people that have been coming here to shout "we've been buying fuel at N400 a litre" are now making so much noise it would be sold at 145. What sense is there in their position? |
Politics › Re: Pa Ikhide Regrets Protesting Against Jonathan by omenka(m): 6:45am On May 12, 2016 |
freeze001: You amaze me with the level of trust and confidence you repose in the person of Buhari, not in institutional infrastructure and systems designed to check corruption and theft but just in the person. You practically grovel in obeisance like he's some infallible god.
You're confident he has good intentions for whom? What do those intentions amount to without a strong institutions to translate the so called good intentions to tangible beneficial projects for the people? Will he personally administer discharge and utilise funds? Who gives a flying hoot about his much touted 'body language'? What is in place to ensure transparency and competence in delivery of service to the people other than ur belief in the saintly and godlike persona which you have cast him in? Do u honestly believe he's in complete control of his government?
I like the way u say 'I appreciate the hardship the citizens are going through...' like you aren't one of them or you aren't affected. That is the same outlook and mentality of the elite who govern because they are insulated from the real biting and painful circumstances which the masses feel so empathy is gone with the winds... You people should be honest with yourselves for once in your lives. Is all this opposition to the policy borne out of an unbiased appraisal of its consequences or is it about the "pull Buhari down at all cost and all opportunity" MO you've dedicated the next four years to?? Ask yourselves- when last did you buy fuel at the controlled price of N86?? Haven't you lot been the ones coming over here to wail endlessly day after day about the cost of gasoline?? What difference does it make making what you've been paying official?? What is the sense in complaining about government announcing it would be sold for 145 when you have been buying at that rate for the last three months?? Some of you even claimed N400. Perhaps you guys have been lying to members of the forum- and yourselves. |

Dcomrade: Omenka passingshot
I want to know your opinion as a citizen(not as a party Rep) on the fuel subsidy removal? Tnx. First off, I'm a party supporter and not a Rep. Be clear on that. Now, make no mistakes, I appreciate the hardship the citizens are going through but also know too well some bitter pills must be swallowed and sacrifices made if we desire to attain the record heights we aspire to as a country. We all know that policy is unsustainable and some of us, in our private fora, supported the idea of its total removal even under the ex-president- the only misgivings being that the regime was fatally corrupt and any saving made thereof could easily be stolen in the blink of an eye. How SURE-P was handled vindicated our position. It became a facade behind which the most obscene acts of corruption/theft were perpetrated- that much was confirmed by the Chairman Kolade Christopher himself who eventually threw in the towel in disgust. We must admit there would have been a more propitious time to administer the pill but for the government to have had the balls to pull this off at a time like this suggests it's already had its back up against a reinforced wall through which it couldn't break. What we are witnessing today are a cascading effect of the record plunge in oil prices- world oil majors have been feeling the pinch as well- most notably Venezuela. Even Saudi with her trillion dollar economy has been slashing subsidies, how much more Nigeria... I have no doubt the president has the best interest of the country at heart and fully understands the consequences of his action. I'm confident savings made from this would be channelled into areas with real and measurable impact on the average Nigerian- it isn't gonna be another SURE-P regime. When this is done, our country men and women would eventually see the propriety of the policy and would even forget shiit even happened. Ask yourself this- would we rather keep buying gasoline at about twice the official rate while "subsidising" it or officially deregulate while the price remain unchanged?? This stuff would pan out beautifully, I believe so. |

Modath's thread?? I'd I don't comment, who will?? A third of all the trillions hiding offshore are sitting in tax havens linked to the UK, according to Oxfam. These havens rely on Britain for security and protection. When our guy Dave was making that comment, he certainly never knew he was within earshot, now he'd have to make restitution and prove himself worthy of the position he occupies by relinquishing our stolen assets stashed away in the UK. That is the fastest way he can make this go away. Regardless, what he said wasn't untrue given where we are coming from, only problem is the moral ground upon which he stands is very fragile and shaky so much so that it collapsed completely under the weight of his remark. |
