Politics › Re: We Will Poison Our Water, Fayose Threatens Fulani Herdsmen by omenka(m): 1:37pm On May 04, 2016
If this is true, then this man just removed every doubt there is as to his state of sanity!!

Does this man know what natural hydro circulatory system is?? Does he know he could come to drink the same water he's threatening to poison??

This man needs a very strong leash around his waist to a stake before he hits the market place. This is just absurd.

Bestinstinct:
This is the very first thing I'm supporting Gov. Fayose for. One needs to check the excesses of the herdsmen to at least create fear in them.
Are you kidding me?? How could anyone see logic in this?? If this happens and we begin to hear stories of livestock of Ekiti residents dying "mysteriously", they'd still come back to propound another conspiracy theory- say "Fulanis clandestinely killing the livestock of Ekiti people".

This man is a mad man.

The demonic plans of the enemies of this country will not prevail.

We have seen through their plot to instigate a full blown catastrophe just to stave off their incarceration for stealing the country blind over the last few years.

No one knows who the killers of the cattle are, it might well not be the people of Agatu, but that is the message they've fed the public and the cattle herders, so they can retaliate and we can have one reprisal after another, while they sit back in their coven to plot their next move.

In all of these, ignorant volunteer foot soldiers of the last admin who gained absolutely nothing from it have made themselves willing hands to those demons who'd stop at nothing to frustrate this government. They dispense, propagate and amplify distasteful news of this nature to stir up fear, anger, and hatred- all of which do them no fvcking good.

They hold logic and reason in contempt and criminalise truth while they extol the "virtue" of being a terrible liar! Yesterday, it was a picture of the so called killed cattle which turned out to be a picture of a ceremony taken from some distant African country. Today, it is a picture of a truckload of arms "confiscated" in Kano, destined for fulani herdsmen and it turned out to be a picture taken from California!!

Rationalising stupidity and sabotage is their stock in trade. Their excuse- "GEJ suffered the same". My prayer is that I hope all that carnage and death they wish upon innocent people of Nigeria simply because they dislike the president visits and abide with them in their respective households alone, amen.

Nigeria will live in peace now and forever.

I won't insult you now because even Fulanis know when and where to stop
The attitude of these people makes for very deep rumination. Just imagine how basterdised their minds have become!!

No one even cares to question the source of the news as long as it sits well with their preconceived illogical nuances.

Just this morning, they've come again with their endless lies, just like this one, with a picture of a truckload meant for "Fulani herdsmen" confiscated in Kano, but a quick google search showed the picture/incident came from/happened in California!!!

Why are human beings like this?? I don't even know if they understand they could well be the first casualties of the war they are so desperately trying to start up. Why are they so averse to peace?? Why??

There is something sinister is that is going on. I keep wondering how the Fulani herdsmen have Kalashnikov riffle and I yet we call them herdsmen. I was browsing through the Facebook and I saw the arms siezed by Nigerian customs in Kano . I am asking are we preparing for war?

I know some people will call me alarmist but a stucht in time saves nine

We have to report any security breach to the security forces in state and the best security is vigilant or do I say vigilantes

God be with us all
Just negodu arms
I hope you get a major ban for this. This nonsense still confirms the position held by some of us that the herdsmen are being unduly targeted by propaganda. Since when did info shared on fb become reliable- that place is a cesspit all manner of decomposing junk. Yet you believed it and rushed down to nairaland like a valiant with it because it sits well with your perverted minds.

That stuff, as a poster has proven, happened nowhere close to Nigeria.

bloodyBLOGGER:
How one masquerade can create jobs for 1000 people
www.nairaland.com/3083962/lai-mohammed-masquerade-create-jobs
When I opened the above thread where Alh Lai Mohammed made a statement that one masquerade can create jobs for 1000 people, I was surprise by the comments that came from people about the statement. The comments showed how poor the intelligence of the Nigerian youth is as they made a jest of his statement, some out of ignorance while others were mostly out of hate for the man cos he belongs to a party that kicked their own party out of power thereby blocking all corrupt avenues they were reaping from e.g ghostworker salary.
A very intelligent mind would have scrutinized the statement very well and would have realised the lack of need to criticize but attest to the idea. But these people suffering from post-election trauma lack the capacity to reason in such a sophisticated manner, hence their open show of the illiteracy bestowed on them by 16yrs of rot.
Now, to the statement "one masquerade can employ 1000 people". How is this achievable? Shallow minds would expect that the single masquerade will open a company and send out job adverts for unemployed youths like them to apply. Such is hardly the case.
A festival for masquerades is quite an opportunity for businesses to thrive, but our problem is that we have been very myopic by doing things the same way and expecting different results. Let's say such festival spans for 2weeks; below are the opportunities it can open if we truly value such culture as much as to transform its festival by investing heavily in it.
First, each masquerade can be endorsed or branded by a corporate company thereby having the masquerade's attire designed to show the logo of the company e.g GUINNESS. That will fetch the masquerade some big box in tune of millions. The ordinary masquerade of yesterday with just 2 drummers can now employ a trumpeter, a keyboardist, a flutist and any modern musical instrument player(remember, we are doing it in a different way this time around).
Once Nigeria Breweries see that Guinness is keying into the idea, they too might decided to sponsor a group of masquerades who are also going to have their own band. With top bottling companies present at an event that could witness up to a hundred thousand viewers, be sure to have drinks flowing. That's where female ushers come in. Campus girls can take that role which gives them a job experience to write in their CV.
MTN or Airtel might jostle to be the event's official network. This might make them to consult an outsourcing firm to help recruit new hands for a contract job to cover the event. The attire the workers of these companies will wear to the event will be sewn by some individuals who will have some change to pocket.
With these companies swinging in, the media will beam their light on the event thereby popularising it to the extent of attracting the interest of foreigners who will invest in it.
What if it is done in such a way that the masquerade event is used by mobile phone companies like Slots and 3Chub to showcase their products for sale? The large turnout won't be wasted. Stands will be sold to them as they employ in-store promoters to enlighten customers about the phones. I hope you are putting the pieces together and finally getting the picture.
Now, count the amount of festivals we have in Nigeria, those for masquerades and those for others and imagine them branded or sponsored. It will really be great. Mind you, the famous English premier league EPL started of with some folks kicking a round object, now it has become Barclay's Premier League BPL with so many other sponsors. The same way adidas or a Nike endorses Wayne Rooney is the same way a company in Nigeria or from abroad can endorse chukwuemeka or gbenga who are really the ones behind the mask.
So, before you criticise next time, think deeply.
This post is for intelligent minds alone.

Beyond the 'goons' part, what do u say about the rest of the post? Politics over homeland/tribe or vice versa?
Already was leaving but had to respond to this. If folks chose to sound responsible like this, we can all have reasonable discussions here whether it has to do with criticism or commendation- it doesn't always have to be a mad house where everyone is shouting at the top of their voices and cursing.

Well, the thing is we all have our respective principles in life. Depending on who's judging, they can either be vice or virtue.

There are certain aspects of man's character which cannot be done away with, vis the desire for uniformity and group identity- it is ingrained in our DNA. What however isn't given to us all in equal measure is the power to control and suppress the urge to allow that identity be the major determinant of the judgements we make in life, the power of the mind to make one literally rise above oneself!!

Let me share a brief story with you:

Couple of weeks back I was going to the village from Makurdi with a friend. We stopped along the way at his inlaw's to grab lunch. Done, we got into our car, turned the key but the engine was totally non-responsive. Well, eventually, it came down to a burned out kickstarter. Had to leave the car there and use a public transport to complete the journey while it was being worked on.

In the vehicle we boarded were some Tiv men and some Igede men, my tribesmen (hope this puts to rest all that Omenka is Idoma crap). I understand Tiv a lot and speak it too. One of the Tiv men was narrating an incident of exam malpractice involving an Igede student to his friend (in Tiv language). He was apparently a lecturer and was so furious about what had happened, especially as the case was dropped at the behest of a much more senior staff of the institution who happened to be an Igede man as well!!

At some point, this man's phone rang and he also explained what had happened to the person at the other end of the line, and what official actions he's decided to take- saying he'd go as far as writing the Perm Sec of the ministry of education- he spoke in english this time. Now, this got the Igede guys talking. The fools (while speaking Igede) went on endlessly about how the man is taking the case too far, and that he only seeks to, and insist on holding the student to account because she is not Tiv!!

Can you believe that!!

What had happened didn't matter to them, all that mattered was the tribes of the people involved!! I was disgusted at the things they said (all of which I can't remember) and wondered if we can ever move forward as a nation with such warped mentality.

Now, that is what I believe that poster demands of me, being like those two brothers of mine, because according to her - "ethnicity comes first!"

Back to where we were- when you view what she said at the backdrop of events like this, you'd agree with me it is total madness. I can never be that sort of man.

Indeed, the interest of my people is very important when taking decisions, but I've over the years cultivated the character that makes me ensure that consideration never subsist over logic and reason- ditto religion.

That isn't politics, that is doing what is right.
That is who I am, that is who I'll always be.

You know, in a terrain like ours, when you play opposition politics and you don't have the ammo the bigwigs have [ billions of money, security (both state and privately hired), jazz (grin), impenetrable residential fortresses, bullet proof cars, etc ] you try as much as you can to deflect suspicion and throw those whom you think might sought you out off your tracks.

I remember very well I made that post and perhaps a couple others, deliberately, to knock some dude who somehow got my picture from twitter (don't know how the bastard got my twitter handle) and posted it here! Almost deactivated my handle for that reason and didn't report the mods asking that it be taken down because I didn't wanna give anyone any reason to think the picture was indeed me. I simply quoted the post and laughed, but deep down, I was like WTF!! cheesy

So I thought it very important to disconnect every connection I have between nairaland and any other social sites in which I was active- I first unfollowed Nairaland twitter handle, then unfollowed Seun on twitter, then changed my e-mail.

When the act of posting personal portraits on the forum was trending, I remember vividly I cautioned all very active opposition NL members not to because it is dangerous- no one knows the people viewing those pics...
