“Instead of them to use helicopters to supply us water and food as they did when mines were planted along Bama to Banki road and our soldiers were cut off in Banki, the GOC used a helicopter to come and address us over
irrelevant issues and warning us unnecessarily
rather than address issues bordering on our
welfare.
The soldiers surely have genuine grievances.

Oga from your post above what are you now trying to justify? That people shouldn't hold government responsible for its promises made during campaign? It is not alien to us when government doesn't keep promises?
That's a bad mind set sir that shouldn't be encouraged. Last time I checked that's why the people voted in another government that seemed to have all the solutions during campaign.
Also please the thread is about Fashola and his garrulous prowess before power and what what he's bringing to the table now and not GEJ and PMB sentiments
Shut up jor. Read the second paragraph of the post I made again before ranting unnecessarily.

WRT bold sentence, I must say that, this is the reason why I don't want Biafra. Our people can be very wicked, cheats and selfish; however, if these acts can be curbed I will prefer Biafra to Nigeria.
Acts of individual jealousy and hate cannot be curbed by the State, it is personal. Trying to do so would be a total waste of time. If people decide on their own to love one another and promote their mutual interests, good for them; but the government can't force people to love themselves.

People ask me why i do not support Biafra even though i'm a proud Nwa afo; A homogenous igbo society would be as boring asf. Why? Let's overlook the pretenses for a second, and all the false sense of brotherhood. The bitter truth is that we hate ourselves. A typical igboman is more accommodatiing to a stranger he's met just for a day than a brother he's known his entire life. We feel we are in competition against ourselves always. A typical visit to any igbo village would confirm this truth. Most of the youngmen are running far away from home because most people at home would do anything to make sure they do not succeed. An igboman would prefer to help a foreigner get a job in his office than his own kin.
The crab mentality is the bane of the typical igbo society.

You do not need to look far to see this. You remember the Nairaland Biafrans boycott? and how many of us swore to never ever visit this forum again? and how we went ahead to start our own 'igbo' forums. grin

Those seemingly igbo forums are a typical example of what Biafra would look like if it ever comes to pass.

I followed those forums. From Biafra Republic to Ala Biafra and then Biafra town. The first few weeks every member was high on Biafra. People were trooping in like crazy. One of the forums even had up to 2000 signups in a day. Even Nairaland would be jealous of that stats. Promises were made. Loud members were ranting on how they were going to build a forum that would beat Nairaland hands down. They promised huge sums.

Few weeks down the line, the forum is still active. some members joined, some couldn't bear it and bummed off. The forum remained active. More promises made and none kept.

2 months down the line, the forums have turned to graveyards. All the flare and plomp are gone. people start wondering what the hell they were doing here in the first place. all members flee and return back to the Nigerian forums they all love and leave the wonderful biafran forums to die a slow and painful death.

Biafra republic that used to have 3000 members online can't even boast of 3 users online. Biafratown is really pathetic but i must commend the admin. Dude posted 3000 topics all by himself grin. Ala biafra is dead and gone. embarassed

This is a true reflection of what biafra would look like. After the pomb and flare, the reality starts to bite and people go back to their vomits. But this time around, they might not be as lucky and the vomit might no longer be available to swallow back.

Biafra is boring and i want no part of it. cool
Rotflmao!!!!!!!! cheesycheesycheesycheesycheesy

Those who left then didn't just come back, they brought their friends along and created multiple IDs further swelling the membership of the forum.

More money for Osewa! grin

I quite agree with the poster you quoted that we should look into the root cause of a problem before we start throwing blames around, just that it is share hypocrisy that you guys refuse to apply this same template to GEJ as you are advocating for Buhari. As a matter of fact, you guys created that template and the opposition now is just cashing in on it because they see it as a winning one. The biggest tragedy of the last election was that you guys blames GEJ for every problem that as ever befallen this nation. It was like the country suddenly began with GEJ's administration and every government before him and the mess they contributed did not exist any more.

The bolded is a hypocritical statement. It is evident in some of your "coded" posts that you do have issues with the igbos whom you codedly refer to has "israelis". You even made your disgust at them a signature.
Dude, as per my siggy, you may go back on my TL, pre and early post- election and you'd hardly find anywhere I derided a particular people/tribe.

Then, I played opposition based on party affiliation. No mention of tribe was made directly or indirectly- it was strictly about political parties and their supporters.

Fast forward early post election, I extended a hand of fellowship and reconciliation to the "losers" and reviewed my siggy to reflect same. I kept on my lane supporting the party/people I believe in, but as time passed, those who felt bad about the outcome of the polls saw it best to divide the country along ethnic and religious lines. I ,as usual, kept away from such threads as I watch the religious and tribal warlords on the forum knock themselves out. Several times they'd mention my moniker on such threads but I NEVER replied their mentions.

Politics on the forum became, for them, about Christians against Muslims, North against South, Hausa, Fulanis and Yorubas against Igbos and some other southern tribes.

They made it seem like it was sacrilegious for the Yorubas to have voted overwhelmingly(?) for Buhari and called the Northerners bigots for voting one of their own when they themselves gave nearly 100% of their votes to Jonathan. Why didn't they vote Buhari is they aren't bigots themselveshuh

They called me a Muslim and a Hausa man pretending to be Igbo because I dared to support Buhari when my moniker says "Omenka" as most of them assume that is an exclusive Igbo name (very ignorant folks). When it dawned on them I'm a Christian and neither Igbo nor Hausa, they started calling me an Hausa slave!! I bet you aren't aware of all these.

The attacks kept going on and on, increasing in intensity until I decided to start responding in kind. No one saw what they were doing to me, but when I started paying them back with their own coins, everyone noticed!!

Then they brought in another tool, Biafra, and started blackmailing the president with it- a president that was barely few months in office. They made it a taboo for anyone to hold a contrary view to theirs and descended heavily with insults on anyone who does (remember that was also the beginning of the bitter rivalry between them and Barcanista).

The siggy you see today is only about a week old and a constant reminder to those who can't seem to make a comment without mentioning me that that is what they are. If they decide to be reasonable with me and act like psychologically stable adults, I'd be reasonable with them. Blackmailing me into a Buhari hater using tribe and religion is what would NEVER happen.

Like I said in my other post, by nature I'm a rebel, when you push me too far, the opposite of what you desire is what I give you. My signature is a reflection of that persona.

Lastly, I swear by God, out here I'm a totally different person. cheesy. When you meet me in person, you'd be shocked at what you see.. There are things I wouldn't say here and you know why: because those who taunt and insult me the most want me to say them. #Rebel. grin

Ps: as the reasonable man I am, I'd erase that part of my siggy. I guess that would suffice for now.

Take it easy bro, being full blooded Igbos doesn't stop us from having our individual differences......instigating every Ndi-Igbo to hate Buhari because of stereotype is what I still consider a crude ideology......................

I am the type that calls a spade a spade, human beign without Law and order are animals and that is why the Bible put it thus; "the heart of man is desperately wicked"........no tribe in Nigeria is free from crime of different kinds.....though I condemn in strong terms the wicked activities of the herdsmen in Nigeria but am sure Buhari has no hands in it........

Where were you when the Spate of kidnapping was unimaginable in the south-East? Did u associate that with GEJ? What of Omatse killings that consumed many of our security officers in Nasarrawa state during GEJ regime?

Gov. Ugwuanyi has wadded into the case as the chief security officer of the state and many of us are following closely to understand the root cause of the problem...

Just understand it wch way it suits you because. Everything in life is all about perspective, dog is a pet to some people while it is a delicacy to others........life itself is a game that unfolds itself at its own pace.
This is what I'm talking about. Most of the venom directed at Buhari stem from nothing but sheer hatred for his person as a Muslim and a Northerner and for his defeat of their preferred candidate in an election.

Most of the tragedies being experienced pre-date the admin and these people NEVER blamed Jonathan for any of those- in fact, when it came to failures in government, they rather blamed the ministers which led me to ask the question back then: what exactly can we hold Jonathan accountable for??

Today, a guy walks around, trips over a stone and they want me to blame Buhari because I'm a Christian while he's not. Imagine the dude you quoted saying they've found "another me in you", disappointed that you could sound the way you do even though you are Igbo. That is the herd mentally most of them have. How could a supposed educated adult hold fast unto such primitive mentality??

I've told them a million times over, I will never hate anyone on account of their tribe or religion, and their blackmailing me with all that Fulani crap (as though it started in this regime when we saw the worst of it under Jonathan) only strengthens my resolve to support Buhari even more. I told them I'm a rebel by nature, the opposite of what you desire from me is what you get when you push me too hard.

Why are people trying to make it appear as though promises not being kept by government is alien to Nigeria.

Yes, APC made promises, yes some of those promises obviously cannot be kept under the prevailing circumstances, yes people have the right to criticise- but what I don't understand is why they make it appear as though PDP government, which they've sworn never to see anything bad in, never broke a word of its.

The sitting government has FOUR years, renewable for another FOUR, to prove herself- she's barely spent ONE, how difficult is that for you folks to assimilate??

Now, do we go back to share headlines of promises made by Jonathan in 2010 NONE of which he kept??- most prominently (since this affects his largest support base) the second Niger bridge which he swore to complete in his first tenure or he'd go on exile!! The nigger didn't as much as finish the ground work, YET you people still voted massively for him in 2015!!

Where are the refineries he promised? Where are the state of the art hospitals?? Where are the world class schools?? What major project exactly did Jonathan initiate and complete in his 5years of regrettable misrule??

In fact, make I even go create counter thread sef. cheesy
