What sort of hostility did SA have towards Nigeria? OP you have come again with your propaganda against South Africa, all because they exposed Jonathan and the criminal arms dealers. You don't have the fear of God walahi
Some of these guys are too damn ignorant walahi!! In an event of an all out no-holds-bared diplomatic row with SA, Nigeria stands to lose the most. Do they have any idea the number of nigerians making a living in that country while sending monies back home for family upkeep?? Do they know the number of nigerians in South African schools at various levels of study?? Do they know the number of jobs local South African companies have provided nigerians??

These guys are just incorrigible fools. Hating on another country simply because she blew the whistle on your government's corruption, something they should be grateful for!!

His voluminous Thesis is as good as useless if he can't publish atleast a paper from it. Why on earth will a PhD holder in the academic environment not have atleast a publication to his credit, even if its a co-authored work.
My brother the tin tire me oo!! That is why I said earlier that there can't be any greater evidence of laziness and failure than an academic not being able to publish an article from his thesis!!

Please, how many people can provide links to just three of their lecturers' thesis?
Links to "thesis"huh Are you okay?? Who puts his WHOLE thesis online?? People can only publish articles written from their thesis in journals with internet presence. If your thesis is very good, you can publish as much as three articles from it. Never heard of anyone putting their whole thesis online and I don't think anyone here has demanded that anyone provides the link to Jonathan's thesis.

How many research papers by Nigerian universities are available in the internet ?
If an inaugural lecture was held 10years ago do u think u will find it on the internet ?
Your ignorance knows no bound. Author from University of Nnsuka published this article in 1998, and it was revised in 1999. That was 15years ago! jrs.oxfordjournals.org/content/12/2/161.abstract
And there are countless more like this!!

@Omenka the two links provided interestingly had the name of the same Mr Akpan of Uniuyo and were published when Jonathan was in government houses-Bayelsa(2005) and Aso Rock (2009)
Very interesting indeed!!

But be that as it may, bottom line is Jonathan didn't write those articles, he most likely sponsored them. What I need is one in which he is the corresponding author (don't care if he wrote it as the Emperor of Jupiter)

What about this one?

http://www.ajol.info/index.php/tzool/article/view/52080

GEJ paper on "Breeding seasonality and population dynamics of the catfish Schilbe mystus (Schilbeidae) in the Cross River, Nigeria". There are so so many sef. So your arguments are moot.

First of all, you were arguing that there is not a single paper existing with his name, now you are arguing he did the research from government house. Hate always blinds people to truth. I'm may not be a fan of his government, but I do not deny truth when I see it.
Please give us articles written and published by Jonathan, one in which he was the corresponding author. I don't care if he was the president or the pope when it was published. What I need is one which he wrote (where his name is FIRST on the list of authors).

Thanks so far. At least you've done a better job than those blind followers of the president who couldn't even present us with the slightest proof of a publication which he authored or co-authored.

Omenka, Barcanista, what about this one?

http://europepmc.org/abstract/CBA/623600

GEJ paper on "Diet of African killifish Aphyosemion gardneri (Aplocheilidae) in a Nigerian rainforest pond"
Eheen!! This is what I'm talking about!! I needed someone to site a single publication and not all that rubbish those people were talking about which doesn't answer the questions I raised in the slightest sense. An ignoramus was even suggesting I went to the zoology deprtment of uniport if I need his publications. Smh. Some folks lay claim to being "educated" but have no idea what it means to be educated.

Now, back to the matter: the article this poster sighted can hardly be credited to Jonathan (even though it could be used in his assessment). The corresponding AUTHOR is Akpan B. E. from Uni Uyo. People conversant with how things work in the academic environment would understand that sometimes, just out of charity, colleagues include each other's names in articles so as to get the requisite number of publications necessary for promotion. Sometimes others have their names included by simply contributing FINANCIALY to having the article published. Indeed, the later was most likely the case in this instance. When you look at it, you'd notice that his address, as the third author on the list, was given as Bayelsa Govt House, and not Zoology dept, Uniport!! He most likely simply sponsored (financially) the research.

Regardless, an article has been sighted.

Anyone else in which Jonathan was the corresponding author??

I saw the highlighted when I replied you . . .Yes, I can confidently tell you I know a doctor who doesn't have one publication despite having a very voluminous thesis.

He is currently been encouraged to do something ASAP unless he wants his juniors to leap frog him in the dept. hierarchy since Journals are a requisite for promotion . . . .

So don't assume certain conditions to be absolute in all cases. Exceptions do occur . . . .

P:S ==> Even the late DR Hansel of Maths dept. was a known rebel who refused to publish a work if that was the only thing that will guarantee his promotion. Despite his impeccable computer wizardry and great statistical skills, dude passed without getting even promoted to Lecturer 1 . . .
Are we now saying the president (possibly)NEVER PUBLISHED ANY ARTICLE when he was in the academia??

Have you gone to Zoology dept, Uniport to ask for his thesis? If you are forming an investigative journalist, what stops you from going down to the school? Is that how saharareporters investigate?
What I ask for are HIS PUBLICATIONS not thesis. Doesn't our dear president with a PhD, who worked some years as a university lecturer, have any publication to his credithuh Not even ONE??

I'm sure most of you viewing this thread and trying to cover the president have googled all you can to find some tangible stuff but came out empty handed.

How could we have made a man who was a lecturer with a PhD who couldn't publish a single article in a reputable journal (mark of total failure) the president of a great country like Nigeria and to add insult to injury, work towards his retention in office??
Politics › Re: That Clueless Region by omenka(m): 8:20pm On Oct 07, 2014
Went through the op's profile and saw that he registered less than a month ago, has seven topics with each not having up to 10 posts (70% of which are from himself). Now in his desperation to attract attention, knowing how nairaland works, he had to create a thread with an ethnic tinge.

My advice to all: ignore the op and his subsequent threads and posts like you would a handshake from someone sick with Ebola.

Look at the highlighted point and you would understand what I'm talking about. Trust me, it is not possible for a Lecturer with a PhD not to have AT LEAST a SINGLE publication.

Or are you trying to tell me the president NEVER published an article during his stay in the academia??

This is some serious issue that musnt be treated with levity. It is high time we started asking some of these sensitive questions.

Bro this isn't about APC or PDP, it is about the president and his purported qualifications. He was a lecturer, granted, he has a PhD, granted. Where are his publications?? There is just no way in the world that a LECTURER WITH A PhD wouldn't have some publications to his credit. He must have published the works of some of his project students and most definitely his master's thesis, for that is how you climb up the ladder in the academia lest you get stuck in the same spot till thy kingdom come.

Where are the president's publicationshuh

I begin to wonder when Jonathan became a Teacher in Uniport. He was a director in OMPADEC before his elevation to Deputy Gov. He has no Thesis to his name nor any Academic Article in a Newspaper or even a blog. I am yet to meet his former Students nor professional colleagues in the University he claimed to teach. Stop being childish. Goodluck Jonathan was an accomplished lecturer and earned his doctorate degree within the four walls of university and not in Aso rock.

Please can you refer us to one of his works as an accomplished lecturer and a PhD holder?? Just a single publication in a recognised academic journal is all we ask for. Just a link would do.

I keep asking this question and have yet to get any answer. The president is said to be a lecturer with a PhD, my question is; what publications does he have to his credit in Zoology or any field for that matter?? Did he deliver any lectures at any conference when he was a lecturer?? What is the title of his thesis and what publication has been made out of the work??

I have tried google severally but can't find any scholarly articles to the president's credit!!

Something is definitely wrong somewhere.

I have been having this dream now for more than once about War in Nigeria, seriously i don't want that to happen because it was a terrible dream, I saw army fighting against some group of people fighting against Nigeria. i saw people running and calling for help, everyone was heading to the forest all our leaders are no where to be found. Please is there any man of God here who can see the future to tell us what will happen to Nigeria.please if you know that God called you please tell us what you see.
Sometime mid last year, I kept having that dream as well. In my case the war was mostly fought in Abuja and was between christians and muslims. There was this clear demarcation within which you are safe depending on the faith to which one belong.

Had the dream about four times within two months then it all stopped. At some point, the sky came crashing down like gargantuan blocks of ice. Very wiered stuff I must say!
